Following the What If's
2009
Alexis gets Sam off, and Lucky and Sam stay together. Sam lived in her loft for six months and then moved in with Lucky at the Spencer house his mother loved.
Robin, Patrick, and Emma moved into a home two blocks from the Morgan House in Queens Point.
May
Michael had experimental brain surgery. He regained consciousness on May 15, 2009. He remembers who shot him. Sonny and Jason trace the money transfer that Claudia made to Ian Devlin.
November
Carly goes into labor and is trapped in a cabin with Claudia. Josslyn John Jacks is born. The last thing Carly remembers is Claudia kidnapping her baby, and Carly passes out. Michael kills Claudia to defend his sister, Josslyn Jacks, rescuing her.

Patrick's former college classmate, Lisa Niles, joins the GH staff. Lisa Niles is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. She sleeps with Elizabeth's brother Steven but can't get over her crush on Patrick from college.

Elizabeth goes into labor a month early. Jason and Elizabeth welcome their baby, Aiden Jeffrey Morgan.

The artist known as Franco kidnaps Aiden from the GH nursery. He has an obsession with Jason.

Jason, Dante, and Lucky rescue Aiden from Franco. Jason kills Franco in defense of his newborn son. Jason is not charged with Franco's death. The pediatrician examines Aiden and gives him a clean bill of health from his ordeal. Jason takes the family home.
September 2010-February 2011
Lisa Niles stalks Patrick and terrorizes Robin. She messes with Robin's HIV meds. She briefly kidnaps Emma and tries to push Robin down a well, but Patrick rescues her before she falls in. Lisa is admitted to Shady Brook. She escapes and takes Robin, Patrick, Steven, and others hostage at GH. Before Dante can arrest Lisa, she injects herself with drain cleaner. Lisa is in a coma.
March 2011
Josslyn is diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney disease. Carly and Jax don't want to pump poison through their 14-month-old baby girl. They have her on a transplant list.

Jason is working at Perks. Spinelli is helping Elizabeth with a computer program with Cameron. She is slightly distracted when Jake runs out of the house. Cody is outside checking security and catches Jake before he can run into the street. A car comes speeding down the street and crashes into the guard post. Francis calls 911 and reaches the vehicle as it catches on fire. Cody uses a fire extinguisher to put out the flames.
Inside the car are a woman, approximately 35, a boy, around six, and a baby girl, less than two years old. The two children have faint pulses, and the female does not have a pulse. Elizabeth shakes her head at Francis. He relays the information on the two children. There is no evidence of a purse or identification.
Cody checks the registration; it is crumpled and barely legible. He writes the license plate down. Elizabeth looks for medication or if alcohol could be involved.
Spinelli starts searching for records on the car. Francis helps watch Cameron, Jake, and Aiden while Elizabeth rides with the ambulance. She calls Jason and tells him what happened, but their kids are okay.
The boy has a fractured arm and minor abrasions. The mother was pronounced dead on arrival.
Patrick and Robin operate on Baby Doe, and she is declared brain dead.
Jason arrives at GH, and Elizabeth shows him the password-protected phone. Do you think Spinelli can find information about her family?"
"I can take it to him. Spinelli is checking the license information, but nothing stands out. I want to see Joss and Carly first."
Robin and Patrick approach Elizabeth in the waiting room. Patrick says, "Elizabeth, what can you tell me about the accident?"
Elizabeth wipes a tear away. "Jake ran outside, and if Cody hadn't been there, Jake could have gotten hit by that car."
"Do you know anything about the woman in the car?"
"She was dead when we got to the car. The boy is going to be okay. What about the girl?"
Robin replies, "She's brain dead, but unless we can find an adult living relative to give permission, we cannot donate her organs. Does she have a husband?"
"I couldn't find a purse. I can search the yard when I get home. Spinelli is tracking the information on the car. How long before the organs aren't viable?"
"She can be kept on a ventilator for a few days, but something odd came up when we entered the information. Her kidneys are a near-perfect match for Josslyn Jacks."
Jason arrives to hear the last portion of Robin's statement. "What did you say?"
"Jason, the girl's kidneys are an almost perfect match to Josslyn. Elizabeth tells me the mother is dead, and unless we can find an adult relative, we can't transplant the organs."
Elizabeth says, "What about an emergency board meeting and talking to a lawyer to petition authorization for donation? Unless Spinelli has better luck on the car."
Jason asks, "What about the mom's fingerprints? We might know who she was if she's in the system."
Patrick says, "Do it. I want to find someone to authorize it, but if our transplant team takes action, we could lose our credentials to perform transplants in this hospital again. Doctors could lose their licenses to practice medicine. I'm sorry. Jason, until we know we can donate, I don't want to raise Carly's hopes."
Elizabeth says, "Jason, call Monica and get her and everyone on the Board here. I will call Lucky and ask him to bring a fingerprint kit. Still nothing from Spinelli?"
"I'll check my messages after I call Monica."
Lucky arrives, and Elizabeth takes him to the morgue. He takes the woman's fingerprints and says he will put a rush on it. "Thank you, Lucky. Hopefully, we will have answers soon."
Jason arrives and nods to Lucky as Lucky walks out. "Spinelli says the car is registered to Franco."
Franco as the one who kidnapped Aiden?"
"But he's dead. You killed him."
"The car registration is from 2008. Is this the Jane Doe?"
"Yes."
"Holy Shit!"
"What?"
"Elizabeth, I know this woman."
"This is Maureen Harper. The woman who took Jake almost four years ago?"
"How could she have a child Joss's age unless she had another kid?"
"None of this makes sense. Your evidence may provide enough ammunition to grant Joss's kidney transplant.
The board approves the transplant, and Jax and Carly are waiting for her while she is in surgery.
Carly says. " I have you and Jason to thank for getting approval for the surgery. Thank you,"
Elizabeth says, "Carly, no parent should outlive their children. I'm glad we could help. Good luck. Jax hugs Elizbeth, and Carly embraces Jason. Carly says, "Thank you, I won't forget this."
Jason and Elizabeth drive home in silence. He pulls into the garage and turns off the engine. Elizabeth sobs and rests her head on her husband's shoulder. "Jason, I was distracted. If Cody wasn't outside to stop Jake, Maureen could have hit and killed him."
"It's hard to think like that. Let's go inside and hug and kiss our boys. I think a long, hot shower before bed will help."
Elizabeth sighs and wipes off her tears. "You are right; let's see if Spinelli has more news."
Elizabeth and Jason arrive home and discover more about Maureen.
Spinelli says, "Stone Cold…"
Jason glares, "Spinelli, it's late. Please tell us what you discovered."
Francis says, "We found Ms. Harper's purse. Spinelli took out the sim card from the phone and printed the data. We found a folded manilla envelope in her purse with your name on it."
Jason extends his hand and receives the information from Spinelli and the envelope Francis hands him. "Thanks; Elizabeth and I will take it from here."
Jason empties the envelope, and Elizabeth sets aside a safe deposit key. Jason reads, "Mr. Morgan. I am Maureen Harper. I took your son in 2007, but you and Amelia Joffee were kind enough to get me help. Thank the mother for never pressing charges. I fell in love with someone who I thought loved me. I didn't know he was obsessed with you. He asked me several questions about your son, Jake. We married in 2008; he said he was an orphan and wanted to take my name. In late 2009, he adopted a daughter, and we named her Nelle Harper.
I swear I didn't know Franco was the one who was emulating you. We lived a secluded life. He was private and had a difficult childhood. I didn't want to pry. After he died, the police questioned me. I thought I knew him; I was wrong. I was also wrong in believing the adoption of our daughter was legal. In December, I received a notification to renew our safe deposit box. I paid the invoice, and in late January, I went to the bank. Attached are copies proving Nelle was adopted illegally. I don't want my children taken from me. I love my daughter, but if her mother is out there, maybe you can find her."
Jason takes a long drink, and Elizabeth takes the remaining papers. She scans through the rest of the letter. "Jason, when Claudia helped deliver Josslyn, Carly passed out and had another baby girl. Claudia was going to take both babies and saw Franco outside the cabin. She handed Franco 'Nelle' and planned to run off with Joss. That is when Michael arrived and killed Claudia. There is more, but all original documents are in the safe deposit."
Jason says, "Fuck! This is a shit storm. How am I supposed to tell Carly she not only had twins, but Claudia stole one of them and gave 'Nelle' to Franco? Maureen is dead, and the adoption was illegal."
"Jason, this is crazy. What about the boy? Does Maureen have no other family?"
"I don't know. I'll have Spinelli look into it. I hate to think of that child growing up in foster care."
"I hope you are not suggesting we foster the boy. I love you, Jason, but I'm not ready for another child to take care of."
"No, I agree. I'll call the hospital in the morning and have them contact social services. I'll pay Maureen's service and all the hospital bills for the boy. Carly may want to cover Nelle's funeral expenses."
"Oh, boy! I want to kiss our kids, shower, and be thankful we had Francis and Cody to save Jake."
3/20-31
Josslyn's transplant is a success. Carly covers Nelle's services. Jason and Spinelli track down Maureen's sister, and she takes custody of the boy.

Jason wakes up and leaves while Elizabeth is still asleep. He sneaks into Shadybrook, injects an air bubble into Lisa Niles's IV bag, and whispers, "You won't wake up to cause Robin and her family more havoc."

Sam and Lucky announce she is pregnant. They estimate her due date is the first week of June 2012.
