PREVIOUSLY ON MAMA YANG: FLAMES OF REMNANT…

"Mom? You still there?" came her youngest daughter's voice. "Yes ruby?" the elder Rose asked. "I know you have questions, and I'll answer them, but first you need to keep your voice down and have shion turn the screen off." Summer nodded.

"In his remnant, he's a member of my and yang's team. Hence why he'd been adamant to join ours." Ruby said. "to answer your first question mom… Spitfire is Yang in his Remnant." This revelation made Summer's eyes dart to yang for a brief second. "as for who Rosebud is… She's me. that's why he insisted to join me in this recon mission. His yang made him promise to look after his Ruby if anything happened to her. You can trust him. I do."

Summer could feel her eyes nearly begin to water. She looked to Eli's unconscious body. This stranger was from another reality, but his goals remained the same; protecting her daughters and their friends. "He have better bring you home unharmed."

NOW THE CONTINUATION…

Ruby trudged through the snow of Weiss' dream world with Eli not too far behind her. Surprisingly, she didn't feel cold at all. Might have been her dragon Faunus form, but she couldn't care less. She glanced back at Eli. "You doing alright?" the temporary dragon Faunus asked. He nodded.

"Never better." Eli said. "I think the closer we get the colder it gets. Do you think it has to do with Weiss' emotions?" Ruby frowned. "Maybe?" she said shrugging. "We're here." Eli said. the two looked at each other and entered the walled off town.

The two walked through the town before hearing metallic footsteps. "Hide!" Eli said pushing Ruby against a building. They watched as what appeared to be a hulking robot dressed in the Schnee logo walk by.

Ruby frowned. "the SDC never incorporated robots." She said before noticing that Eli had pressed himself against her. "Dream world Ruby. Weiss must be dreaming of some kind of Schnee Empire with her most likely as its empress. Those bots must be her foot soldiers or vanguard." Eli mused unaware that Ruby's face was heating up.

"Um Eli." The scarlet Dragoness said slightly flustered. "Could you back off please?" Eli raised an eyebrow at Ruby's red face. The huntress' eyes darted down for a split second, then back at him. her friend curiously looked down and blushed.

"I'm so sorry." Eli yelped bounding a good two yards away whilst Ruby covered her chest. "Not your fault. You didn't have enough time." The scarlet dragoness said. Eli rubbed the back of his head.

"Spitfire, definitely would hound me for that, jokingly of course since its you. Kitty, well, she's slightly possessive when it comes to me." he said. Ruby winced after lowering her arms. "Would she… scratch me to death?" she asked cheekily before laughing.

Eli laughed. "I have no idea." The huntsman jerked his head to the right. "What?" Ruby asked "We're being watched." Ruby followed his gaze. "Weiss." She said as her partner approached.

REAL WORLD

Shion, Summer, and Grey watched with bated breath as the two chatted with their teammate. Yang had left to get Anya and Blake. Summer figured she would most likely catch them up on what's happened thus far.

"You really trust this guy summer?" Grey asked. "Yes, he said he'd practically give his life to defend them. Grey grinned. "Reminds me of Natsu." He said.

"Dreamy, don't tell me you're fond of someone who could very well kick your ass as well as Gajeel's." Shion said as she smirked. The ice demon slayer magic user scowled. "I didn't say that." Summer chuckled slightly.

The playful arguments these two got into reminded Summer of how her relationship with Tai once was like. She wondered if Ruby or Yang told Eli about what happened between her and Tai yet.

With a sad smile, she looked at the screen and her eyes widened. "We have a problem." She said getting the two's attention.

DREAM WORLD

Eli slid back a groove forming in the street from using his semblance. Weiss had nearly blindsided Ruby. "What the hell Weiss? Ruby's your friend."

Weiss frowned. "I know. I'm defending her from you." Ruby's eyes widened. "Weiss, what you saw was an accident." Her eyes and expression then hardened. "Besides, he's our teammate. We came to save you. There's a Grimm in you. We're here to eliminate it."

"Eliminate it? It's opened my eyes on what he is. He's a menace and threat." Weiss said confusing Ruby. "What?"

Eli noticed thorned vines that were wrapped around Weiss flicker into view before fading. His eyes widened. He activated his bladed gauntlet.

"Ruby," he called out getting her attention. "The Grimm… it's controlling her!" Ruby took a few steps backwards toward Eli.

Weiss frowned. "Choose carefully Ruby. Whose side are you on? Mine… or his?" she said as robots joined Weiss' side. Ruby trembled. Her partner or protector.

"Ruby." Came Eli's voice. She looked at him. "I won't force you to make a decision. If you choose to side with Weiss, just know that I will fight tooth and nail to free you as will Yang, Blake, and Anya. That's a promise."

The scarlet Faunus' eyes widened as spectral images of Spitfire, Kitty, Rosebud, and Eli's Weiss appeared beside him. "And I'm damn certain that if they were here, my team RWBY would do the same." He mutter loud enough for only her to hear.

Ruby felt tears form in her eyes. Wiping them with the sleeve of her coat, she gave Weiss a determined glare. "Weiss, We'll save you, even if it means having to fight you."

Weiss frowned. "Very well. You've chosen your side." She said as she got into a combat stance before dashing at ruby, who barely had time to bring out Crescent Rose. Thankfully, Eli was with her and intercepted the stab.

The clash of blades resulted in a shockwave, shattering nearby windows. Ruby watched as Eli and Weiss swung their blades and parried, sparks flying every so often. "Whoa!" she mused in awe, seeing Eli's swordsmanship. Jaune could definitely benefit from him.

Weiss went in for a stab and Eli leaned back, his blade detaching and becoming a regular sword. Ruby didn't notice a robot beginning to aim at her. Eli did though.

"Ruby, look out!" he said before knocking Myrtenaster out of Weiss' hand and kicking her away before bolting towards the scarlet Faunus whilst reattaching the sword to his gauntlet.

Ruby turned her head just in time to see a fire dust round flying at her. The scarlet Faunus' eyes widened as Eli suddenly appear in front of her and scream in pain as the round struck him. "ELI!" She screamed before catching him.

"Pitiful, forfeited our duel to save you." Weiss sneered approaching. "Shut up." Ruby said in a dangerous tone causing the Schnee to stop short.

"He's anything, but pitiful. He's kind and funny." Ruby said containing her rage. Weiss took a few tentative steps back as bluish silver aura leaked from Ruby. "He's stood up for you when other students talked ill of you behind your back. He saved Yang, Nora, Blake, and Anya."

Ruby glared at Weiss with her pupils being extremely thin. "YOU AREN'T THE WEISS I KNOW. I SWEAR TO OUM WE WILL SAVE HER AND DEFEAT YOU!" she yelled bringing out a coin and used it to exit the Dream world.

REAL WORLD

Ruby woke with a gasp. "Eli!" she cried out before a hand entered her line of sight. Turning to the owner, she saw Blake. "Yang filled me and Anya in." the Faunus-exceed hybrid said. Ruby turned to see Summer helping Eli stand up. Soon tears began to fill her eyes.

"Eli!" she said using her semblance to rush into him. "Wha.. Ruby. It's okay. The injures don't carry over into the real world. So I'm not hurt." He said.

"It doesn't matter. That was reckless." Ruby said sobbing. Eli's expression softened. "I told you. I made a promise. I intend to keep it. Even if it means giving my life to do so." Ruby grimaced before hugging him.

"That's what I hate. The fact that you're willing to sacrifice yourself to defend us." The sound of a throat clearing made them blush.

The two turned to see the rest of the team as well as Summer smirking. "Before you start teasing ruby and threaten to kill me, I'll say this. We got a big problem." Yang raised an eyebrow.

"What's bigger than my sister falling for you?" she sneered. "Hey, those were accidents yang!" Ruby yelled. "The problem he's referring to is the Grimm and Weiss. The Grimm's controlling Weiss."

This caught the blonde off-guard. "We're going to need to free Weiss by literally beat some sense into her before we can deal with the Grimm itself." Eli said.

Team R(W)BY, Anya, and Eli looked at each other. With the recon done, all they needed was a plan.

A/N: Thus ends the first dive of the Dream World Arc, I will say that this will be my favorite arc to write. Speaking of which. F-M-D is about to start his Dream World Arc in his AU of Mama Yang, so be on the look out for the first chapter of HIS Dream World Arc.
