Ch 101 A Sudden Vacation
Standing outside, Anthea and Concordia were helping the Maids and Sebastian pack Steven's Car with Helena and Steven's Luggage. The Car itself was ordinary, like the Cars everyone has in Rustboro.
Wallace, Flannery, Roxanne, and Brawly were there too, waiting for Helena before leaving themselves for their Hometowns.
N was on the side, crossing his arms, feeling uncomfortable with the prospect of the situation.
"I can tell you're thinking about this plan, N." The green-haired trainer sensed his Guardian walking up to him. "Care to share?" Adam asked him,
The former King of Team Plasma looks back at his Sister and Friends, taking to the Maids. N sighs, knowing he could confide with his Guardian about anything. "I don't like it, the fact Helena was going to a place farther away where I can't get to her if she's in trouble. It doesn't sit right with me."
Adam nodded, understanding what N was feeling about now. "You were always quite protective over Helena, N." The blue and blonde-haired Professor said, looking at his Charge. "You know that Steven would do anything to protect Helena,"
N remains silent, knowing he can trust Helena with Steven. "Even so, I'd like it better if I was accompanying her to the hiding location." The green-haired trainer said, not feeling right about being unable to go with his Sister,
"N, just letting you know. You can't always be with her all the time." Adam said, advising the Daycare Attendant. "Helena isn't some damsel in distress, sure she's unable to defend herself due to her Pregnancy but remember what she was like before getting Pregnant."
The green-haired trainer closed her eyes, remembering when Helena was in danger with Team Plasma and when they were in Area Zero in Paldea. Accounting for almost every dangerous aspect of the Journey he'd taken so far, he should've known Helena wouldn't sit back and let others deal with it.
"You're right, Helena would be the first in line to defend someone or save someone given the chance," N said, almost forgetting that she was one of the few people who he personally tried to change, only to get turned around and save him. "I have forgotten about that,"
Adam smiles before hearing the doors behind them open. He turned his head, seeing his First Charge, "Well, this is a surprise, I wouldn't take dying your hair you two." The blue and blonde-haired Professor said.
"Woah, that color looks good on you, Ellie!" Brawly commented looking at Helena and Steven walking out of the Mansion.
"Huh, never knew that color suits Ellie," Flannery smiles, liking the new styling she's seeing. "Seriously though, you look good in it, I think we would make "
N could hear the commotion from his Friends, prompting him to turn around. He heard his Sister giggle and responded to Flannery's comment. "Thank you, Flans, but this is just a Wig." Helena corrected the Fire-type Gym Leader.
Wallace's eyes widen, "Ah, so Alister must've helped you with your Wig." The teal-haired Champion commented, recognizing the handiwork.
"Yes, both Lydia and Alister helped with the disguise," Helena explains to her Friends. She then looks at her Family, smiling at them. "N, Adam, I'm glad that we had a chance to say goodbye before I leave."
N turns around, seeing his Sister in her disguise. His eyes widen upon seeing the hair color as something struck in his mind. "N#####." A voice called out to him, giving him a small migraine.
"N, are you alright?" Adam looked at N, seeing him gripping his head,
"N?" the green-haired trainer looks up, seeing a Woman with red hair and Emerald green eyes staring down at him. "Are you okay?"
Closing his eyes and shaking his head, he looks up again, this time seeing Helena instead of a Woman he faintly remembers. "M-Mo-" He asked, his mind was a bit hazy.
"N," N looks up, feeling the gentle hand of his Sister on his forehead. "N, you have a small fever, what did I tell you not overworking yourself," Helena asked, causing the former King of Team Plasma to return to reality.
"H-Helena, what are you-"
Helena stood up, giving a sympathetic look at her Older Brother. "N, I know you and the others are worried about me. But don't forget, I too worry about you, Anthea, and Concordia as well." The young Professor said,
N blinks at his Sister, still a bit unnerved by her disguise. Almost like he's seeing the Ghost of someone he knows and yet he doesn't. "A-I'm sorry, i-it's just your disguise, Helena. It just brought someone from my Past,"
"Oh, I see. It must be the Wig then," The red-haired Professor said, checking over N regardless of what he'd said.
"Helena, it's fine. You have a lot to worry about already," N said, not wanting his Sister to worry any more than she has too much on her plate. "The disguise you have just taken me aback." He said, smiling at the now red-haired Professor.
N closed his eyes, placing his hands on her shoulders before hugging her tight. Helena was caught off guard but allowed him to continue hugging her before feeling him holding her. "Be safe wherever you end up, Helena. If anything happens I know Steven and the Pokemon will protect you no matter what." The green-haired trainer said, looking at the now blonde Champion.
Steven nodded, giving his word to N. "Helena is in good hands, N. You know this," The Hoenn Champion said, smiling at his Future Brother-in-law.
Helena smiles at her Brother before saying one last thing. "If you are in trouble and Steven can't get to you or your Pokemon. Know you can always call me." N said, wanting to give some insurance to her. "Kirlia can relay a telepathic message to Gallade in case of any trouble brews."
"I'll keep that in mind, N. Thank you for your concern over me and thank you for trusting Steven," Helena said before moving on to Adam standing beside them.
"The Lab will be protected and the Pokemon there as well." Adam looks at his former Student, he knows that she'll be safe with Steven. But he couldn't help but worry for her as well,
Helena saw a slight change in her Mentor's demeanor. "Professor?" The red-haired Woman asked the blue and blonde-haired Professor,
Adam smiles, placing his hand on Helena's hair. He ruffles it, like how he did when she was traveling with him. "O-Oi, Professor you know I don't like it when you do that."
"I know," The Professor said, smiling at Helena. "I just want to do it before you leave," Adam chuckles before speaking.
"Seriously, be careful. You're more important to everyone here than you know it," Adam said, reminding Helena of how important she was to everyone.
Helena nodded, seeing not only her Friends were worried about her. She then caught Wallace standing on the side, "Helena? Is something the matter?" Steven asked, following her eyes to the former Champion of Hoenn.
Steven nodded, understanding what Helena thinking was. "Go, I'll wait when you're done." She said, walking to the Car, leaving the young Professor to speak with Wallace.
The black-haired Professor walks over to her Friend, prompting him to look at her. "Wallace, how're you doing?" She asked, knowing exactly what Wallace and his Family were going through.
"I'm doing fine, Ellie. Gotta say, if you weren't Pregnant now, I would've told you and Stevie here to be responsible and that stuff." The teal-haired Gym Leader jokes, hiding the pain through it.
Helena knew Wallace was hiding something and knew what it was. "Wallace, I know that you've gone and seen Maya at the Police Station." She said, understanding what he was going through. "I know what you're going through with Maya." She said, looking at N who was speaking with Steven and the others.
Wallace looks at Helena, remembering when he visited his Sister in the Holding Cells.
Flashback
At the Rustboro Police Station, the Offices were bustling with Detectives working their Cases. From the Team Magma Case to a Pokemon Trafficking Case,
Amethio was sitting at his desk, looking over the file regarding the Break-in at the Potter Lab. Sitting on his desk was also the Break-in at the Stone Mansion, he sighed at the amount of work he was given regarding the two Cases,
"Detective Amethio," The dark and grey-haired Detective looks up, seeing Officer Jenny standing before his desk.
"Captain Jenny, what is it?" Amethio asked, standing from his desk, finally noticing the former Hoenn Champion standing next to her.
Officer Jenny turns to the side, addressing the Gym Leader. "Detective, Mr. Mitchell wants to see the Prisoner," The teal-haired Police Officer informed the dark and grey-haired Detective.
Amethio looked at the former Champion, "Of course," He stood up, showing Wallace where they were holding his Sister.
"Thank you for letting me do this, Officer Jenny," Wallace said, thanking the Rustboro City seeing the dark and grey-haired Detective leading the Gym Leader to the Holding Cells.
Wallace followed Amethio down the Hall, where his Little Sister was being held. "Mr. Mitchell," The Sootoplis Gym Leader looks forward, hearing the Detective calling his Name.
"Yes, what is it?" The teal-haired Man asked, wondering what he wanted to say.
"I'm just letting you know, your Sister, Maya. She isn't very cooperative with the investigation." Amethio explains to the former Champion. "Her obsession with Steven Stone and Professor Potter is making things difficult with the investigation."
The teal-haired Gym Leader nodded, understanding what the Detective was saying. "Right, I understand, Detective," Wallace said, arriving at the Holding Cells. "I'll talk some sense into her,"
Amethio looks at the former Champion, hearing what he was going to do. "Well…considering you know her, so I wish you luck." The Detective said, walking to where Maya was being held.
The Water-type Gym Leader stood before Maya's Holding Cell, and what he saw was his Sister sitting on the ground. Her head was pointed down, grumbling to herself. "Maya Mitchell, you have a Visitor."
Maya didn't respond, instead, she spouted some nonsense. "Tell them to leave! I won't talk to anyone unless it's Steven Stone-AH!" The teal-haired Grunt gasps, seeing someone she wasn't expecting and yet feared at the same time.
"Maya, what the Hell you were thinking.,." Wallace didn't raise his voice, nor started to scold her. Only asking her questions,
"I'm merely trying to make Steven see he made a mistake-"
"Mistake? What mistake?" Wallace didn't react, just continued to question his Sister.
Maya smirks, clearly not seeing that Wallace is baiting her. "THAT BITCH! HOW DARE SHE GET PREGNANT WITH STEVEN'S KIDS! THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME!" The Team Magma Grunt exclaims, holding his hands out. "IF THAT BIITCH DIDN'T SHOW HERSELF, THEN STEVEN WOULD BE ALREADY MINE!"
Wallace shut his eyes, hearing Amethio groan at the nonsense his Little Sister was saying. "Maya," The former Champion spoke her Name.
Maya looks at her Brother, expecting him to say. 'I paid for your Bond and will be released soon. However, you are forbidden to be in contact with his Friends.' The teal-haired thought.
The Grunt closes her eyes, waiting for her release. "Your Pokemon will be returned to our Home to Mom. Be sure to learn from this experience, and hopefully, when your sentence is served you'll be a different Person." Wallace said, turning his back on his Sister.
Maya's eyes widened, realizing that she wasn't going to be released. "W-Wait! Wallace, you can't do this to me!" The teal-haired trainer approaches the bars, calling out for her Brother. "I'm your Sister, Wallace! What would Mom and Dad would say if you just left me here in Jail!?" The Grunt of Team Magma asked,
"What would Mom and Dad say?" Wallace asked, turning his head at Maya. "For starters, they'll say 'Maya you're a selfish Person and disappointed, however, we still Love you. As such we've decided that time away from your Journey would do you some good." He repeated the message their Parents relay to him for her.
Wallace sees the devastation on his Sister's face, he then looks at Amethio requesting something of him. "Detective, please make sure my Sister gets proper treatment." The Gym Leader of Sootoplis City asked,
Amethio nodded, considering his request. "Of course," He said as he watched Wallace leave the Holding Cells.
"WALLACE!" Maya cried out, trying to get him to reconsider his request.
End Flashback
Helena was flabbergasted by what Wallace told her. Hearing that Wallace and his Family practically abandoned her. "Wallace, I'm sorry to hear that your Family is going through this." She said, truly sorry for them.
"Hey, it's not your fault. Both my Parents, Cristina, and I decided it's best to let Maya take responsibility for her actions." The Water-type Gym Leader said, placing his hands on her shoulder. "As her Brother, I want to apologize to you for how she was treating you,"
The black-haired Professor smiles, "It's not your fault, Wallace nor your Family. I just hope Maya gets the help she needs." Helena said not one to look down on a Person despite being Enemies.
Wallace smiles, lucky to have a Friend such as Helena who's understanding of the situation. He shook his head, seeing already he had already taken enough of Helena's time. "Anyways, Steven is waiting for you and I've taken enough of your time." The Gym Leader said, patting Helena's shoulders. "Now, go meet Steven. Okay?"
Helena nodded, hugging Wallace before meeting with Steven near the Car. She looks at Flannery, Brawly, and Roxanne standing near the Car.
"Ellie, you'll be back in Rustboro City sooner than you may think," Roxanne said, holding Helena's hand. "And don't worry about the School and the Lab, we'll take care of it."
"Thank you, Roxanne," Helena said, worried for the Pokemon staying at her Lab, Wild or owned by the School/her Family.
Flannery smiles, seeing Helena coming up to her. "Now don't go Marrying Stevie while away because we still have a Bachelorette Party to do first before that." The red-haired Gym Leader jokes with her,
Helena giggled, responding to Flannery's jokes. "Don't worry, I'm pretty sure I can't drink while having Twins," She leans into the red-haired Woman. "(Plus, I want everyone to be in the Wedding,)" She smiles, playing along with her jokes
Roxanne jumps in, hearing talks about a Wedding. "If we're talking about a Wedding then I have a few ideas to go for the Wedding." The brunette Gym Leader said, always wanted to try planning a Wedding.
"Don't worry, I'll hold off on any Wedding Planning until things settle down." Helena jokes, prompting them to laugh at their jokes.
Steven smiles, seeing Helena was laughing with their Friends. "Happy that you're going to be alone with Ellie, Bra?" Brawly asked the Hoenn Champion.
Steven looks at his Friend, smirking at his comment. "Hey, it's not like that, Brawls." He playfully shoved the Fighting-type Gym Leader.
The sky-blue-haired chuckles, before hearing what Steven is going to say. "Besides we're not exactly alone at the place we're staying," Steven explains to his Friend, crossing his arms. "The Caretaker at the place will be there with us."
Brawly chuckles before adding his little sentence. "Well, at least there's someone there to keep an eye on you two." The sky-blue-haired Gym Leader continued to joke, receiving yet another shove from the Champion.
"In all seriousness…" Brawly gave a glance over to Helena, finishing her conversation with Steven's Parents after speaking with their Friends. "Are you going to pop up the question during your time together?" He asked,
Steven looks at Helena before looking at Adam and N. Adam has already given his answer, N however,
N noticed that Steven was staring at him, looking at him he could tell what the Champion and Brawly were talking about. He closes his eyes before nodding at him,
The Steel-blue haired Man flinched, seeing the sudden gesture from N. If that was any indication, Steven took it as his permission to ask Helena. Smiling, Steven accepted his response before looking at Helena.
Helena walks over to Steven, already saying her goodbyes to everyone. "Alright, I'm ready to go Steven." She said, turning to Anthea and Concordia who came up to her.
"We've packed everything in the back trunk, Helena," Concordia informed her Sister what they've done.
Anthea nodded, "We've packed your Clothes, personal items, and something Lydia has asked us to pack something important too." The pink-haired Ability User said,
Helena's eyes widen, looking over to the white-haired Woman who smiles at them about to leave the Mansion. "I see…I think I know what it is. Anyways, thank you for packing my stuff for me, you two." She said, appreciating his Sisters for packing her Stuff.
The two Ability Users smile, nodding to Helena's appreciation. "Just be careful for us, Sister," Concordia said,
"I will," Helena said as Steven guided her to the Passenger seat.
Steven then went over to the Driver's side, opened the door, and sat down behind the wheel. The Steel-blue haired Champion turns to his Girlfriend, "Are you ready, Ellie? Did you say your goodbyes to everyone?" He asked,
"Yes, I did," Helena smiles, looking out of the Driver's side window, seeing them waving at them. "I don't know why but I feel like we're going on a Honeymoon." The black-haired Professor commented,
The Hoenn Champion chuckled, smirking at Helena. "No, this place is more of a vacation Home than a place for a Honeymoon," Steven said, wanting to make the Honeymoon special for Helena.
"Judging by that look, you have something special in mind, Steven." Helena smiled, knowing that expression he was making.
Steven shrugs before looking at the time. "Anyways, ready to go?" He asked his Pregnant Girlfriend,
Helena nodded, "Ready,"
Everyone outside the Car watches as Steven puts the shift on Drive, pressing the gas pedal. They watched and waved as the Car with the Couple started to leave the Driveway of the Stone Mansion.
Steven drove past the Skyscrapers of Rustboro City, heading down towards the Highway.
Helena looks at the Window, seeing the scenery of the Region's Forests. Turning to her Boyfriend, she was curious about where they were heading. "Steven, where are we going? You said that you're going to tell me where we're going." The black-haired Woman said.
"I know, I was waiting until we reached the Highway before I told you where we're going," Steven said, about to tell Helena where they were going. "Now that we're on the Highway, I'll tell you where we're heading."
Steven said before telling the Ability User. "We're heading to a private Vacation House my Family has in Mossdeep City. Nobody knows about it and only those close to the Family know about it." The Steel-blue haired Champion informed his Girlfriend.
"I see…so it's a perfect hiding place for us," Helena commented,
"Yes, but don't think about it as a hiding place. Think of it as…" Steven smiles, thinking of another title to call it. "As a Vacation just for us,"
Helena giggled at Steven trying to find the positive points in things. "A Vacation…I think I needed one after what we've been through." She said, looking at the Window, seeing the Ocean from where they were, indicating they were close to their destination.
