Vegeta returned in the spaceship late one evening and dropped it down at its usual location. After a few days, Bulma still had not seen Vegeta, so she figured he had gone off to train elsewhere, once again.

It annoyed Bulma greatly because she was eager to make things right with the surly Saiyan after their most recent intense and awkward encounter. But she also missed him.

Vegeta had been able to stay away from the woman with ease until one evening, when Bulma observed him sitting by a tree he often meditated by. Most of the dark April day had been rainy, and the gusting wind made it seem twenty degrees colder as she walked quickly over to him.

"Vegeta! I was worried about you! Is everything all right?"

"Yes, I'm fine woman."

"You should come inside and get some food."

"I said I'm fine. Leave. I am not in the mood for you right now."

Bulma then dropped to her knees next to Vegeta "Hey, I'm really sorry for going crazy on you the other day; I was experiencing a lot of emotions, and they overcame me, and I was being over defensive… you didn't do anything wrong."

Vegeta remained quiet, so Bulma continued. "I do not want to irritate you and cause you any distraction. It is only professionalism from this point forward. I promise. I want you to come inside… if you are done training, that is," she said, gently placing her hand on his arm and pulling a bit.

"Bulma." Vegeta said, then paused, as if unsure of what to say, as she gazed at him with her big, expectant blue eyes.

The use of her name lingered in the air a moment before Bulma was overcome by the rare gesture.

She also thought he looked so lonely and dejected, like a lost little boy, remembering how he had shared how miserable his life had been.

The following moment, she could not help but lean in his direction and softly brush her lips to his. Her spontaneous kiss was soft and tentative at first, but as she placed her hand to the side of his face, she was soon pressing her lips more firmly to his as she was drawn in by the irresistible feeling and warmth of his skin.

After a little while, Bulma felt Vegeta's lips slowly moving against hers. At the slightest hint of reciprocation, which she realized she had desperately been longing for, Bulma let out a faint sigh. Vegeta instantly stiffened and carefully moved her away from him as reality struck him and Bulma saw the confused Prince staring at her.

"Get away from me, woman." Said Vegeta before he moved away and flew off to the gravity room. He needed to train like his life depended on it.

Later that evening, Vegeta returned to Bulma's home and headed to the kitchen for a late-night raid of the refrigerator. He had turned the gravity up considerably and was exhausted and in need of sustenance, having grown tired of hunting wild game as of late.

Vegeta could feel Bulma's, dormant ki in the family room across the house. For reasons he did not know, Vegeta's curiosity overcame him, and he left his food and walked silently toward the blue-haired woman who was sound asleep. Wearing a dress and a bulky sweater, she was lying on her side on the couch, her arms curled in front of her in a protective manner, her delicate feet barefoot and pointed like a dancer. The television was muted, and the screens colors danced across her creamy skin in the dark room.

Vegeta gazed at her for a while, reflecting on how delicate she appeared. Her lips, her hair, her skin. She really was among the most exquisite feminine specimens he could remember seeing. Even though he tried to ignore her, there was something about her fiery energy that drew his attention. Nappa had told him about Saiyan females. They had shown not just physical strength but also mental fortitude and resolve to contend with their stronger Saiyan male counterparts. Vegeta pondered whether his mother would have acted similarly in some ways to Bulma if she had been alive. The only memory Vegeta had of his mother was of her nursing him one time in her royal chambers when he was an infant. This was the only memory where he felt cared for and felt contentment in his life.

Vegeta had interacted with the galaxy's multitude of female species, of course, but this situation he found himself in currently was something he had never experienced before. Close quarters with a female who was not subservient or doomed to be killed by him as was the case on purging missions. Just a woman who gave him a place to train freely and continually showed how courageous she was in his presence, showing him compassion which his hardened heart was not accustomed to.

After coming back to the compound and feeling Bulma's presence once more, Vegeta came to the realization that he would not be able to deny his desire for her. He was now aware that the woman was attracted to him in the same way. He also knew the persistent woman would not leave him alone. Their fleeting kiss was a temptation unlike anything he had ever experienced. He acknowledged that he might easily end up taking her if the moment was right and she was eager and ready.

It only made sense for him to use her in this way to satisfy the increasing attraction he experienced every time he was in her presence. She was a temporary distraction, but it did not matter because he would soon take leave of her and never think about her again. Like the hundreds of worlds he destroyed, he indulged his bloodlust without thinking twice about his actions.

He would finish his training on Earth, get this female off his mind, and then go back to space to train. He would not have to deal with any repercussions since he would either disappear one day, or this planet would be destroyed.

She would not matter when he stepped foot on the battlefield.

However, he could have other uses for the female before that day, so would it be short sighted to take advantage of her. His dilemma was that he needed to keep her around to aid him with the gravity room. He needed to keep her focused. He had experienced how emotionally charged the woman could be.

Realizing that potentially fraternizing with the woman could impede his short-term goals of achieving his ascension. Vegeta felt overwhelming clarity to push away these feelings, which he realized were absurd. He had come this far in achieving his goals and he was not going to let the damn woman, and her enticements get in his way.
