People in Canterlot City seem to be going about their day as everything seems peaceful for now. But what they didn't realize was that something was coming their way, something big and very dangerous. A nice family was having a nice picnic on a hill as the father was passing a football to his son while the mother was sitting out the food on a picnic table. This however came short as after the son caught the ball, he suddenly noticed something coming towards them out in the distance.
Then, it draws closer as an army of the Dark Oni gang are marching forward in mechs, small jets, and many weapons as they head towards the city. The people that saw this were in shock and awe before what sounded like rock music started playing as a bigger mech that looked like a gigantic black tiger robot with blood red stripes came marching out of the woods.
"People of Canterlot City!" The woman from the subway station called out with a microphone on top of the tiger. "Get ready, for I, Kiken'na, present your new lord and master! Lord Garmadon!" She exclaimed as she gestured to the control cockpit of the mech, where the dark lord, Lord Garmadon, presented himself in his world war armor and let out a maniacal laugh.
"Thank you, Kiken." Garmadon said with a smirk. "Okay, let's get to business! Team one, overthrow the police station!" He ordered some of the Dark Oni charged into the police station as the officers tried to fight back but were quickly overwhelmed. "Team two, take out the phone lines." He ordered as some goons cut the phone lands. "Team three, start terrorizing the people." He said as some goons charged at the people, who were running away in fear. "Team four, take the TV station and control the broadcast so everyone in the city could see they're downfall." He said as some goons went to the TV station and cut the feed.
"Now all I have to do is make my way to City Hall and knock the mayor out of her seat." Garmadon declared as he had his sights set on City Hall. "Then once I put my beacon up, I will rule over this city…FOREVER!" He added as he gave an evil laugh while the people looked around in fear.
"Where are the ninjas?!" A boy exclaimed in fear while wondering where their heroes were.
At Canterlot High, the gang and the Rainbooms were at lunch together as Rainbow Dash was trying to get them to focus back on the Ninjas again. "Come on, guys. The Ninjas are cramping our style." Rainbow said to them. "We should get into the spotlight as well."
"Rainbow, when are you gonna learn, we only use our powers when something is important like Equestrian Magic. Not for the spotlight." Sci Twi said with a firm look as she gave an annoyed sigh.
"Besides, we just want a nice, peaceful-" Aqua tried to say before a bunch of sirens started wailing. "...quiet day!"
"Hey, guys. Check it out." Sunset said as she showed her phone and it showed Garmadon attacking the city before the phone line was cut. "I think that must've been Garmadon." She said with a worried look as she and the group looked at each other while the Rainbooms gave a shock look.
"And apparently, he upped his game." Applejack commented in a shocked look.
"All students please evacuate immediately!" Celestia called out through the school's intercom. "All students please evacuate and get to safety!"
"Looks like school is out early." Trail commented with a smirk as every student started to leave in a hurry.
"Sweet! I can get a heads up on my new cake recipe." Pinkie said with a cheerful smile.
"Pinkie, no, we need to do something about this!" Twilight told her as the rest of the Rainbooms, except for Sunset, nodded in agreement.
"Yeah! Let's go and kick Garmadon's butt!" Rainbow exclaimed with a smirk.
"Rainbow, we need to get the people to safety!" Twilight pointed out, which made Rainbow slouched in despair. "They might get hurt by him!"
"She's right, them ninja seemed pretty nervous when Garmadon was mentioned." Applejack mentioned. "Right now, we gotta help the town."
"We'll go around the school and see if anyone needs help." Lloyd suggested as he and his friends gave a nod.
"I need to get my geode from my locker." Sunset told her friends as she was hiding her geode in her pocket. "I'll catch up with you girls later!"
"Uh, okay, Sunset…" Fluttershy awkwardly said as the group got up.
"Good luck, girls!" Trail called as he and his group rushed after where Sunset rushed off to while the Rainbooms gave confused looks before they pony-up and rushed off. Sunset then looked back and nodded towards Lloyd and the others as they had confident grins on their faces.
In the hallways, Lloyd and his group gave determined smiles as they ran down the hall before stopping by their lockers. Sunset then looked at them with a thumbs up after making sure the coast was clear before they put their hands in for a group cheer. "NINJA, GO!" They declared as they entered their lockers, which shockingly, opened up a secret entrance that they fell into.
Then one by one as they each of them fell down their secret entrance, they removed their clothing to reveal their ninja suits underneath. And then, they appeared in a warehouse that powered up. "Ninja Computer System Online." The Ai spoke up as the lights turned on.
"Let's go, team!" Lloyd declared as they each split up. "Trail, you're up!"
"Fire Ninja!" Trail declared as he put up his ninja hood and jumped into a large Fire Mech and started it up. "Ready and standing by! Alright, your turn, sis!"
"Water Ninja!" Aqua called out as sh put on her hood and entered a spider mech. "Ready and Standing by!"
"Frost! Your turn!" Lloyd called out next as Frost jumped into a white tank.
"Ice Ninja, ready and standing by!" Frost exclaimed as he entered his mech.
"Ready, Thunder?" Lloyd asked as Thunder jumped to his jet like met.
"I got this!" Thunder called as he got on his mech, but was sloppy. "W-Wait." He muttered before he corrected himself. "Lightning Ninja, ready!"
"Flash, you ready?!" Lloyd called out as Flash put up his ninja hood and jumped into an eagle like mech.
"Wind Ninja, ready and standing by!" He called out as Gaia made her way towards a giant wolf mech.
"Life Ninja!" Gaia called with her fancy accent as she jumped into her mech and it gave a howl when she used a game controller to control it. "Ready and standing by! Landy, you ready to dance?"
"Earth Ninja!" Landrush called out as he entered a black mech with one wheel as he played a record player. "Ready and standing by!" He called as his mech fists smashed onto the ground. "Yo Sunset, you up?!"
"Empathy Ninja!" Sunset called out as she hopped onto a mech shape like a unicorn as it powered up. "Ready and standing by!"
Just then, the light dragon mech powered up as Lloyd put his hood up. "Light Ninja, ready and standing by." Lloyd said with a smirk as the Ninja stood by with their mechs powered up. Landrush even put in a record on a turntable in his mech as he played music. "All ninjas, hit it!"
Then the Ninjas power up their mechs and take off out of the warehouse. "Alright, Ninjas! Follow me!" Lloyd called out.
"It's a good thing we made these mechs for emergencies like an invasion force." Thunder said with a smile. "And right now, we're gonna need them."
"I calculate our chances of success to 100%!" Frost declared enthusiastically.
"Let's hope the girls are helping the people out as much as they can till we get there!" Flash called out as he flew his mech.
"Knowing Twilight and the others, they have it covered." Sunset said as the Ninja rode their mechs from a warehouse at the docks as they made their way to the city.
At Canterlot City, everything was in chaos as the people ran in panic while the Dark Oni caused mayhem before the Rainbooms came in and started using their powers to keep the people safe as Twilight used her powers to levitated some goons away, Applejack used her super strength to knock away any debris, Rainbow used her superspeed to get the people to safety while knocking down some goons, Rainbow used her animal talk to help the animals to safety, Rarity shielded the people from projectile attacks while Pinkie used her powers to disorient some goons.
"How did Garmadon even have so many goons?!" Applejack questioned as she punched more debris away.
"He probably bought them or something!" Pinkie called out as she continued to throw sweets to make them explode at the Goons.
"Or Garmadon took a long time to build up his army while terrorizing from the shadows!" Twilight called as she levitated some trash bins and knocked them to some Dark Oni goons.
"I don't mean to point out the obvious, but I believe it's the second one." Applejack said.
"Ditto!" Rainbow called as she sped around and knocked some Dark Onis away. "But this is kinda fun! I bet we can outclass those Ninjas and share the spotlight in this!"
"Uh, I think you might have spoken too soon about that." Fluttershy mentioned as she saw something coming their way.
"What do you-WHAT?!" Rainbow gasp in shock when she saw the ninjas in their mechs coming in.
"Whoo-hoo! Yeah!" Thunder exclaimed as he fired some lightning bolts at some air forces while the Ninja rolled in.
"Ninjas!" The people started cheering as they watched the Ninjas come in while the Rainbooms looked in shock and awed.
"There they are, the Ninjas!"
"Go, Ninja, go!" The people cheered as the Ninja's mechs marched in and took out some enemies in close range.
"Where did they get those wonderful toys?" Pinkie asked in awe.
"I believe they also have been preparing for this, darling." Rarity mentioned as Rainbow had an irritated look on her face.
"Aw, come on! We don't even have those kinds of mechs! We only have the Rainboom bus!" Rainbow exclaimed in irritation. "How can we compete with those?!"
"Okay team, you know what to do!" Lloyd called out through their communication in their hoods. "Flash and Thunder, you both got the air!"
"10-4, good buddy." Thunder said.
"We got it covered." Flash nodded.
"Aqua, water." Lloyd said as Aqua was riding her mech close to a river stream.
"It's a dangerous and fascinating environment." Aqua called as she fired water blasts from her mech.
"I know, right?" Lloyd asked with a nod. "Trail, Sunset, Landrush, Frost, Gaia, you guys take downtown." He ordered while some Dark Onis are charging the four mechs guardian the buildings.
"Already here, Lloyd! But we're taking heavy fire!" Sunset called out as they barely dodged some attacks.
"Landy! Where are you, dear!? You're supposed to back us up!" Gaia exclaimed as Landrush was down a street while knocking away some small mechs.
"Hang on, I'm on my way!" Landrush called as he turned a corner and saw another mech close by to his friends. "You heard my latest track? It's really a smash!" He quipped as his mech slammed down onto the ground, creating a shockway that sent the mech flying.
"Thanks, darling!" Gaia thanked as she and the others now had the advantage as they returned fire.
"Thunder, heads up!" Flash called out as he mech to do a barrel roll and avoid some enemy fire. "You got bogies on your six!"
"You also got them on your 3, 1, 7, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 2." The computer said as Thunder was surrounded by Dark Oni air forces.
"Oh boy." Thunder muttered.
"I got a good tone! Fire!" One of the pilots exclaimed as they fired a missile, which Thunder swiftly avoided. "Too close for missiles! Switching to blaster!" his partner soon mounted a turnt and started firing at Thunder.
Thunder's mech blocked most of the shots, but he knew it wouldn't last long as he flew over a building, with one of the ships crashing. "Get your affairs in order, Lightning Ninja!" Another pilot called as they gave chase to Thunder.
"Oh man, got to charge up my super sonic dynamo!" Thunder shouted in a panic as the screen in front of him showed the dynamo was charging. "Come on, charge! Charge! Hurry up, come on! Charge! Charge!" He repeated before the screen showed it was fully charged. "Clear!"
Soon, Thunder shot many thunderbolts at some air troops and ground forces, destroying them, Aqua drove on the river and jumped over the bridge while sending water blasts, Landrush was pounding away some troops with lose lampposts, Gaia was using her wolf mech to tear apart some troops with her teeth, Flash flew around while using the strong breeze from his mech to knock the enemies out of balance, Frost was freezing some enemies with his tank, while Trail shot a stream of fire.
"Whoo-hoo! Bam!" Trail exclaimed as Sunset rode her unicorn mech and fired shots from her horn and took out some mechs. "Sunset, you are the girl!"
"Heck yeah I am!" Sunset replied as Lloyd jumped off of his mech and fought off some goons on a roof. After dealing with them, he jumped back on to his mech and flew off.
"Way to go guys!" He called out before his eyes narrowed. "Now I'm going to Garmadon."
Then some of the building started to crumble, which caused the people to scream as a giant chuck started falling, which Lloyd noticed as he moved his mech dragon and shot some missiles at it, causing it to break as the debris crumbled to pieces as the people cheered.
"Thank you, Light Ninja!" A boy cheered as Lloyd smiled down at the people's compliments.
"Lloyd! Your da-I mean, Garmadon is close to city hall!" Flash exclaimed as Lloyd saw his father getting close to city hall.
"I'm on it." Lloyd said as he move his mech to his father, while Garmadon laughed and his mech continued to charge forward. "We got you surrounded, Garmadon!"
"Yeah, we'll try to catch me, Light Ninja!" Garmadon called out with a smirk as he moved around as he hid his mech behind some buildings. "I see you took notice of my army. Took me some time gather, and to put together this new toy." His voice echoed out. "And I can see that you and your team did the same. Clever."
"A ninja must always be prepared." Lloyd said with a serious tone. "And you can't hide forever, Garmadon."
"Oh can I?" Garmadon asked anonymously. "Am I over here or am I over there? To tell you the truth, even I don't know, it's like a house of mirrors around here."
"Do you really don't think I know we are hiding, you really think I don't see you?" Lloyd asked with a brow before Garmadon had his mech stick out from behind a building.
"Well, if you can see me, why don't you shoot me?" Garmadon asked and just as he asked Lloyd shot at him with a missile. "Ow! That was like in my kidney! I can't believe I fell for that!" He cursed himself as he quickly moved.
"Why do you want to conquer Canterlot City so badly?" Lloyd questioned, wanting to know why his father even wanted to conquer Canterlot City.
"Because there's something very, very special here." Garmadon said with a fond look, which got Lloyd's attention.
"What?" Lloyd asked softly.
"I'm going to let the walls down for just a second, Light Ninja." Garmadon said softly.
"Go- go on." Lloyd urged, wanting to hear it.
"About sixteen years ago, I lost something I should have never given up." Garmadon started while holding himself.
"What, what- what is it? You can say it. It's okay, you can say it." Lloyd said, having a feeling what his father would say.
"I had this guitar in college, and I traded it stupidly for something like a jacket or something." Garmdon said, which wasn't the answer Lloyd was hoping for.
"That's what you were referring to? That-" Lloyd muttered with a look.
"Yeah! What else would I be referring to?" Garmadon questioned.
"I don't know! Maybe something else! Think about it!" Lloyd exclaimed with a look.
"What? No!" Garmadon answered in confusion.
"Are you sure there's not any other sort of connection you have to the city? Nothing?" Lloyd questioned.
"There is someone in the city I love very much." Garmadon said, which brought Lloyd's hopes up.
"Yeah?" Lloyd said.
"Yeah. I remember when I first laid eyes on him." Garmadon continued.
"Go on." Lloyd urged.
"The last time I saw him was, well, I guess about sixteen years ago too." Garmadon said
"Yeah?" Lloyd asked again.
"I was just a... irresponsible kid and I…" Garmadon added with a smile.
"Uh huh?" Lloyd said with a nod.
"It was this... guy who made probably the best sushi I've ever had in my life." Garmadon said once again, crushing Lloyd's hopes. "You never knew what was coming next, and you didn't even order! It was one of those places where you don't even get a menu."
"Omakase?" Lloyd asked in a deadpan tone.
"Is that the name of the place?" Garmadon asked.
"No, that just means-" Lloyd tried to say but his father cut him off.
"That is! That's the name of the place!" Garmadon said with a smile.
"-he brings it to you, and you don't choose, he chooses-" Lloyd speaks over his father.
"That's the place!" Garmadon finished.
"Omakase." Lloyd muttered. "Anyway, Just to clarify, nothing- nothing else. If you really racked your brain, there's no other connection."
"Yes. There was a boy that I had in my life." Garmadon said with a smile while looking at his arms as if he was holding a baby.
"Um. What- what happened to your child?" Lloyd asked, knowing that this time his father is thinking about him.
"He was bald, had no teeth, couldn't chew, and was always crying." Garmadon said with a frown. "Couldn't walk! Couldn't even walk! I mean, I was like, what are we going to do with this kid? So I'm like, I don't want a hairless-"
Lloyd then glared hatefully at his father for still thinking he's a baby. "Shu- shush! Shush! Sh- Shu- Zip it! Zip! Done! Stop! Stop! Stop talking! You're done!" He yelled
"-crying son for the rest of my life. And that was when I made the decision to go away and live my life!" Garmadon added.
"Aargh!" Lloyd hits the big red 'FIRE' button on his mech as many weapons on his mech all fired at once.
"Mega light laser mode." a bunch of lasers started to come out from the mouth, eyes and the end of his mech's tail and fired right at Garmadon.
All of these hit Garmadon, creating a massive explosion. A soldier gets caught in the explosion but survives. "Oh! Phew. Just one day 'till retirement-" The soldier explodes. The other Ninja joins Lloyd as he inspects the wreckage. Garmadon survived, using a bubble shield as protection.
Garmadon coughed as he moved his shield up. "Jeez, where'd that come from?" He coughed. "Did not see that coming." He gave another cough as he looked at the Light Ninja. "Your weapons are very accurate, Light Ninja! Too bad for you, I upgraded all of my shields!" He declared with a smirk before he frowned. "...That's all I seem to have at the moment, just my favorite shields."
"Face it, Garmadon! You will never take over Canterlot City." Lloyd told him with his arms crossed. "So why don't you just give up and go away for good!"
"Well, anything's open for discussion. Oh yeah. Except that! shields down! Here, catch!" Garmadon called as he deactivated his shield and threw a bomb at Lloyd. "Shields up!" Once the shields were back up, Lloyd tries to catch it but fumbles and falls over, to which Garmadon laughs from that. "Did you see that?" He asked as the Dark Oni soldiers laughed with him. "I mean, who taught you how to catch, man?"
"Nice catch, loser!" A soldier laughed.
"Oh yeah? Well, take this!" Lloyd yelled as he tried to throw the bomb back at Garmadon, but it somehow went behind him. The Dark Oni laughs harder at that other humiliation of his.
"Amazing! Who taught you how to throw?" Garmadon asked in amusement.
"Funny you ask, um, no one." Lloyd said with a look. "Because I, uh, I never had a dad to play catch with me."
"Well, it shows." Garmadon chuckled. "Because that was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life.
"Or, uh, you know, no one even taught me how to ride a bike, or shave, or-" Lloyd went on before the bomb behind him exploded, which made him flinch while Lloyd glared harder. "-or how to diffuse a bomb!" He finished loudly.
"You know what's funny? That I know how to do all those things." Garmadon commented.
"Do you?" Lloyd asked with a look and gritted teeth under his mask.
"Yeah." Garmadon answered.
"Oh, good to know." Lloyd sarcastically said.
"And they're just sitting there idle in my brain, just wasted, floating away." Garmadon said while looking up. "Never taught them to anybody."
"Mhm." Lloyd hummed.
"And they'll probably die with me." Garmadon continued.
"Really." Lloyd said lowly.
"When I die." Garmadon added as Lloyd gave a frustrated yell. "If I die. Which will never happen. I will never die."
"Just- just leave Canterlot City already, please!" Lloyd shouted in rage. "And get out of my life!"
"Never ever ever. Huh- wh-" Garmadon started before he heard what Lloyd said. "Get out of your life?" He repeated before he gave a scoff. "Weirdly kind of personal, isn't it?" He questioned.
"Uh-oh." Sunset muttered.
"Oh boy." Flash muttered next.
"Um…" Lloyd stammered with as he almost blown his cover. "No."
"You seriously got issues, Light Ninja." Garmaodn commented with a brow. "I hope you get the chance to work them out by the time I get back. And when I return, I'll have something better and stronger to stop you Ninjas, something big." He declared as his Dark Oni then grabbed hold of his dark mech and moved out as they retreated while the people watched in wonder and worry while Lloyd glared at where his father went too. "Is the Light Ninja still looking at me, Kiken?"
"Yes, my lord." Kiken answered while showing a projection of Lloyd glaring at him.
"Ugh, he maybe a formidable fighter, but he's a weirdo somehow." Garmadon muttered as he and his forces retreated from Canterlot City while the Ninjas watched while the Rainbooms came from behind them.
"Okay, that was impressive." Twilight commented.
"When did they have mechs?! And how!?" Rainbow questioned before she super speed right on top of a building to see where the ninjas were going, only for Flash to use his mech to let out a smoke screen.
The Rainbooms all coughed from the smoke screen. "Oh, that's rude!" Rarity exclaimed as they kept coughing before the smoked cleared as they saw the Ninjas and their mechs are gone. "Where did they go?"
"They just disappeared!" Pinkie exclaimed in shock. "Trixie should take notes from these guys."
"They must've used the smoke screen to get away without being seen." Twilight summarized.
"How could something that big be so stealthy?" Applejack questioned with a brow.
"They are good." Fluttershy commented as Rainbow groaned in frustration.
"UGH! How can they have the best toys while we're left in the dust?!" Rainbow exclaimed when she ran back to the others. "Even before those new toys, they were already famous, but after today, they are celebrities! Seriously!"
"You know, now I'm a little intrigued by this." Twilight mentioned as she pushed up her glasses with a brow. "Maybe you're right, Rainbow."
"I am?" Rainbow asked in surprise.
"She is?" The other Rainbooms asked in surprise.
"I think it's time we start finding out the Ninja's identities so that we would know who they are and how they are getting so good." Twilight said with a wonder look as they all watched the spot where the Ninjas were, as they have a feeling they will show again soon and Garmadon will return sooner than they think.
Meanwhile, Garmadon and his Goons were making their way towards a mountain as it turned out to be a dormant volcano and also his secret lair. "Volcano base, this is Alpha Squad, arriving shortly at LB." A soldier said as they all entered a tunnel in the volcano as they parked.
"Bakery team, the victory cake goes back in the fridge." Another soldier said. " I repeat, the victory cake goes back in the fridge."
"There is a magma spill on Deck Three. Avoid Deck Three if sensitive to magma." The intercom spoke up as Garmadon's mech was being pulled up.
"Just passed Garmadon in the hallway. He seems pretty angry." A soldier said.
"He's requesting a mandatory staff meeting by the fireplace." A soldier informed
"Is that the room with the lava or the room where people get fired?" Another soldier asked.
"It's both." The soldier answered as a soldier was trying to pull a teeth out, but he fell down.
By the fireplace, Garmadon grabbed a cup of tea from Kiken and took a sip as a large group of soldiers sat opposite him, heads bowed. "Well, Generals, congratulations. We finally conquered Canterlot City." Garmadon said calmly.
"I'm not... certain we did that?" Dark Oni General one said in confusion.
"I was being sarcastic!" Garmadon snapped in anger. "Every time I try to conquer Canterlot City, those meddling Ninjas thwarts me. Who are these Secret Ninjas? Every time I come up with a new plan, they still beat me. And they don't even have cool suits! And you guys have dark jackets and a bunch of cool suits that look like demons. I mean, maybe we're spending too much on outfits."
"That... sounds right to me, sir." Dark Oni General One said nervously.
"Oh, come on. Hey, look, you guys gotta think for yourselves. I'm not your father! Alright?" Garmadon said with a look.
"Is that a weird thing for him to say to us?" A female Soldier whispered to another one.
"General number one!" Garmadon glared at a general wearing a badge and a demon helmet. "Do you want to be a follower, or do you want to be a leader?
"Uh... leader?" Dark Oni General one answered nervously.
Garmadon gave him a glare. "How dare you? You're fired!" He then hits a button, and the General is shot out of the volcano.
"I mean follower!" The Dark Oni General screamed as he was launched out of the volcano.
"You! What's your title?" Garmadon questioned the female general.
"Uh- I'm General number two, sir." The general answered nervously.
"Well, now you're General number one." Garmadon told him.
"Oh- oh." She said in surprise.
"And you, what's your title?" Garmadon asked another general.
"General... three?" He answered
"Well, now your General number two, you see where I'm going with this?" Garmadon asked with a smile.
"No." The general answered.
"Now. I told the Light Ninja I was coming back with something big, something wicked, something with some pizzazz." Garmadon said to his generals as Kiken left the room before he turned to general one. "General number one! Go ahead. Give me some ideas."
"Well, sir, I was thinking maybe we could work on the morale of the troops?" The general suggested. "They're always scared of being-" Garmadon frowned before he pushed the button and fired her. "-fireeeeeed!" She cried out while being launched away.
"We could... do the same thing we did last time?" Another general suggested as Garmadon gave her a dull look before she got fired as well as she was launched away.
"What if we dressed up as the Secret Ninjas?"
"It's time we develop a code language!"
"We paint angry eyebrows on the troop's faces."
"What if you just ran for Mayor?" Another troop asked before all four of them were fired out of the volcano as they all gave a yell.
"I'm surrounded by idiots." Garmadon muttered as he rubbed his head. "How hard is it to come up with a genius idea? Anyone? Come on, jump off." He said to his generals, who all stood silent as some scientists crawled through the side walls to him with Kiken leading them. "This is a safe place. Go ahead. Just grab it, don't be shy, there's no such thing as a bad idea."
"Excuse me-"
"Kiken!" Garmadon snapped as he turned to her. "You'tre interrupting my venting."
"Sorry, my lord, but I've had the scientists make a little something just in case this plan failed. She mentioned as she took a tablet from one of the scientists and often to him. "It should be done by the end of next week."
"Give me that!" Garmadon said as he snatched the tablet from her and looked at the designs for his new mech. "Garma-daddy likey." He said with an evil smile as he now has a plan on taking down the Ninjas once and for all.
