Naruto woke up early, the familiar warmth of his bed making it hard to leave. His mind was still buzzing from yesterday's conversation with Kaito about hiding his Chimera-gan, but today was a new day. It was the start of a fresh mission, and Naruto could feel the energy building in him. The boredom from the past few days was gone—today, his team was getting a real mission.

He rolled out of bed, quickly dressed, and joined his family for breakfast. His parents had already prepared a hearty meal, though they were still acting cautious with Naruto's unique abilities. They had talked about the Chimera-gan and how Naruto's abilities were becoming more powerful, yet still unpredictable. Still, they were always supportive, even if they didn't completely understand the scope of his power.

Naruto's big brother, Kaito, was still away on a mission, but Naruto had been training hard with him when he was home. He smiled thinking about Kaito's training sessions—his brother was incredibly skilled, and their bond had only grown stronger. His parents, of course, made sure Naruto was always cared for, and they were the reason he had the strength to keep pushing forward.

After breakfast, Naruto kissed his mom and dad on the cheek and headed out, eager to meet his team.

At the Hokage Office

Naruto met up with his team—Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi—at the village gates. The sun had just started to rise, casting a warm golden light on the streets. Naruto was excited to get started; his mind raced with thoughts of what the mission could be. Was it something exciting? Something dangerous?

He quickly put those thoughts aside as he entered the Hokage's office with his team.

Hiruzan Sarutobi greeted them with a smile, but his expression shifted slightly when he noticed Naruto's intense energy. He chuckled warmly and handed Kakashi a scroll. "I've got a mission for you all. It's an escort mission—nothing too dangerous, just an important assignment to take a bridge builder named Tazuna safely to the Land of Waves."

Naruto's face dropped a little, and he looked over at Sasuke, who shared his expression of mild disappointment. Escort missions weren't exactly the thrilling assignments they were hoping for. Sakura, however, seemed more enthusiastic, though it wasn't hard to tell that she too had hoped for something more exciting.

Naruto wasn't one to hide his feelings. "Another escort mission? Seriously? We're way too strong for that," he muttered under his breath, but loud enough for everyone to hear. He quickly added, "We've done these kinds of missions a hundred times. Can't we get something more challenging?"

Kakashi glanced at him, a small smile forming beneath his mask. "I see your point, Naruto. But every mission is important, no matter how small."

Naruto crossed his arms. "I get that, but we've been doing simple stuff for weeks now. I'm getting tired of it. We're ready for something more dangerous!"

Sasuke smirked and raised an eyebrow. "I thought you were always about being on top, Naruto. Don't go getting impatient now."

Hiruzan smiled, his eyes twinkling behind his glasses. "Well, this mission may not be the most exciting on the surface, but you'll be traveling to the Land of Waves, and there's more going on there than you might expect. Trust me—this won't be just a simple escort mission."

With a nod, Kakashi took the mission scroll and rolled it up. "Alright, team, let's get ready. You'll leave immediately."

The Mission Begins

The team left the village gates and began their journey to the Land of Waves. As they walked, Naruto's impatience never fully faded, but he was determined to make the most of the situation. He'd show everyone that he was ready for something bigger, and today was the start of proving it.

Tazuna, the bridge builder they were supposed to escort, was a tall man with rough features. He didn't seem like much of a fighter, but he was the key to rebuilding a critical bridge for the Land of Waves. As they traveled, Naruto couldn't help but wonder why a bridge builder would need such a powerful team to guard him.

As the day went on, Naruto continued to keep an eye out for anything suspicious. He felt something wasn't right—the area seemed too quiet. The landscape, though beautiful, had an odd stillness to it.

That night, while setting up camp, Naruto couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. He stood on the edge of the camp, using his Chimera-gan to scan the area. His enhanced senses picked up on distant figures lurking in the shadows.

"Something's off," Naruto muttered under his breath. "We should be on guard."

Sasuke, who had been silently observing the surroundings, nodded. "You're right. It's too quiet. They're out there."

Kakashi, who had been keeping watch, noticed the tension in the air. He stepped forward. "Everyone, stay sharp. We'll need to keep moving in the morning. The sooner we get Tazuna to the Land of Waves, the better."

Ambush

The next day, as they continued their journey, the team was ambushed. A group of skilled rogue ninjas emerged from the mist, and Naruto instantly recognized the situation—this wasn't going to be a standard escort mission after all. He grinned, his Chimera-gan glowing faintly in his eye as he prepared himself for the fight.

The leader of the rogue ninjas, a tall figure cloaked in shadows, sneered at them. "You think you can protect the bridge builder? This area is under the control of the criminal syndicate known as Gato. You'll die here."

Kakashi's expression grew serious. "Everyone, stay close. We're taking these guys down fast."

Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura quickly readied themselves, but Naruto was already thinking ahead. He had been waiting for an opportunity to show off his abilities, and this was it. As the rogue ninjas attacked, Naruto summoned a clump of cells, pulling from his Chimera-gan's vast database of knowledge. The cells morphed into weapons, shields, and even defensive formations. He took control of the cells like a master sculptor.

"Let's do this," Naruto muttered as he sent a wave of his summoned cells into battle. A bladed weapon formed in his hand, a flexible weapon that he manipulated like an extension of himself. With speed and precision, he cut through the rogue ninjas' defenses, his Chimera-gan guiding his every move.

Sasuke was quick to use his sharingan, cutting through the enemy ranks with his well-timed attacks. Sakura, for all her determination, struggled a bit but managed to help where she could.

The rogue ninjas were stronger than Naruto had anticipated, but his newly honed skills and strategic thinking gave him the upper hand. He focused on cutting off their escape routes, forcing them into a trap. The leader of the rogue ninjas, seeing their defeat inevitable, snarled and tried to flee—but Naruto was faster. He summoned more cells, creating a set of chains that wrapped around the man, dragging him to the ground.

With the leader subdued, Kakashi arrived, ready to take control of the situation. "Good job, everyone," he said, nodding to Naruto in particular.

Naruto, breathing heavily but satisfied, gave a grin. "Told you we were too strong for this mission. Glad I could prove it."

Kakashi chuckled and patted him on the shoulder. "Alright, now let's finish this and get Tazuna to his destination."

A New Challenge

Later, as they continued their journey, Naruto felt his confidence growing. They'd handled the ambush well, and now, it felt like they were truly ready for anything. The team's bond was strengthening, and even Tazuna, though surprised by the turn of events, seemed to trust them more.

Naruto knew, deep down, that this mission wasn't just an ordinary escort mission. It was a sign that their true challenges were beginning.
