A Call of Destiny
It was night in Egypt. The Children of Millennia were sound asleep in their own bed chambers with their Magical Creatures sleeping beside them. In one bed chamber, as Mystery was sleeping, she began having a dream. In her dream, she was standing in the middle of a dark void until she saw a light ahead. As she follows the light, it gets brighter and her surroundings begin to change. She sees herself coming out of a cave on top of a cliff. As she looks out on the horizon, she's in awe of the spectacular scene before her. Instead of golden desert sand, the whole landscape is a valley filled with greenery everywhere. There were colorful plants and trees of all shapes and sizes, meadows, and hills. There were also waterfalls, lakes, ponds, and streams. The whole area was also surrounded with rocky walls.
As she continues staring in wonder, Mystery begins hearing a voice, beckoning her to come. Suddenly, the rock she stands on shifts and begins flying into the valley, carrying her with it and bringing her into the valley.
The dream suddenly comes to an end and Mystery finds herself back in her bed with Jirachi still sleeping soundly next to her. It was still night out, so it was understandable that he would still be asleep. "That dream again," Mystery whispered quietly to herself. She wondered if it meant something.
The next morning, Mystery was helping her friend Mahad concoct a new potion; one that could change materials upon contact. All the person had to do was take a small amount into their mouth. The potion would then become a fume and once exhaled, it could change the form of whatever it came into contact with.
A cauldron was brewing in front of them. It was filled with fresh spring water and some minerals. It was now time to add the final ingredients; the essences of some Magical Creatures. There was a scale of a Keckleon, a tuft of fur from Zoroark, an Eevee's drop of blood, a Castform's teardrop, and a piece of Ditto's skin. The two friends added the ingredients and watched the potion change into many different colors until it came out crystal clear like clean water.
"All right," Mahad said. "The potion is finished, but we have to let it set for one week before it can be used."
"I look forward to seeing what it can do," said Mystery.
"Well, thanks again for your help, Mystery."
"Not at all," she insisted. "Now that we're finished, we can meet up with the others. I'm sure they're finished with their own work by now." And the two of them headed to the palace courtyard.
As Mystery figured, the rest of their friends were present. Seto was sitting against a tree as he was reading a scroll. Kisara was nearby, gently petting and stroking her pet cat Kirara. Joseph, Freya, Atem, and Mana were happily chattering with each other. Mahad was the first to walk towards everyone, but just as Mystery was about to follow him, she suddenly looked towards the wall, causing her to suddenly want to look outside. The trees weren't high enough for her to look over the wall, so she decided to unfold her wings and fly up to the top. As she looked, she saw the same familiar scene of the city she loved; the houses, the market, the river, and the pyramids in the distance.
Jirachi flies up to her. "What's going on, Mystery? Do you see something?"
"No," she answers, keeping her gaze focused on the city. "I was just–,"
She was interrupted by Joseph's cries. "Mystery, what's going on up there?"
"Come on down from there," Seto tells her. She hears them and flies back down.
"What were you doing up there just now?" Kisara asked. She and the others had seen Mystery look out at the city many times before. They thought nothing of it at first, given she once lived outside the palace with her family and loved exploring the kingdom. But for some reason, this time, it was causing them to be concerned.
Without waiting for Mystery to answer, Seto tells her, "You see the city every day. What's out there that's so interesting all of a sudden?"
"I don't know," she answers with honesty. "I just have this funny feeling."
Atem interrupts her and asks, "Are you worried about your parents?" He remembered that Mystery's mother and father lived in a small house just outside the palace and that she would sometimes visit them to make sure they were doing well.
But Mystery wasn't worried about her parents. She and Jirachi had visited them yesterday and nothing was wrong. "For some reason, I just have this feeling that there's someplace I'm supposed to be."
Seto looks at her with his arms crossed. "And what led you to have this feeling?"
Mystery began telling her friends about the dream she had been having for a while; the dream about coming out of the void and into a beautiful valley. "I've been having this dream a lot for the past several nights and it's caused me to think it might mean something."
"This has happened to you before," Jirachi reminded her. He was right. This did happen to her before. For several nights, before her birthday this year, she had another recurring dream. It was about her parents bringing her to the palace after she was born and being discovered that she was the true heiress of the Great Goddess Millennia. That dream turned out to be a memory that was calling her.
As all of her friends listen, Kisara speaks up and says, "You know, I think I've been having the same dream too. It's dark and there's a small spark of light and as I follow it, I see myself looking at the most beautiful landscape I've ever seen. I think it's the same valley Mystery sees in her dreams."
Joseph was bewildered. "To have the same dream for more than one night; it just has to mean something."
Mahad agreed. "In many ways, dreams are like messages; especially if they're recurring dreams. And things like those shouldn't be ignored."
Mystery agreed. "I'm going to go talk to the pharaoh," she decided. "He might know something." And she walks inside the palace with Jirachi on her shoulder.
