Sorry this took so long, I have been distracted by my greatest enemy, geometry.
Chapter 5: The Truth
"It just says spot 2, what does that mean."
"Say we're on the way."
"What is spot 2."
"Secret meeting area where dad made plans for all his heists."
"If that's spot 2 what's spot 1."
"The first planning area but it was found."
"Ok how far are we from this mysterious spot 2."
"We're about 5 minutes out."
5 minutes later
"And here we are."
"It just looks like a hole in the ground."
"Well, that is the point"
"And nobody ever got suspicious of a random hole in the ground."
"There used to be an archeology site here so there used to be holes in this area this was just another hole to everyone else."
"Makes sense but no one ever fell in pr anything."
"Not that I know of listen we didn't exactly have the best tech at our disposal, now, shouldn't we go in."
"Yea probably" They Walk in to see Johnny's dad and uncles sitting around a table.
"DAD" Johnny yelled running towards his dad and giving him a hug "Where have you been the last couple months."
"I told you" Marcus said "Hunting."
"Well did you shoot anything Johnny said motioning to the hunting gear in the corner."
"We weren't hunting to kill; we were hunting for information" Marcus said.
"What were you trying to find out."
"Who is Caleb Quarles is and why he's after you."
"I can tell you that."
"Alright who is this guy."
"You remember when we had to go into hiding because some dude was hunting us after he got out of prison."
"yeah"
"That's who he is."
"But I thought he was dead."
"Me too but apparently there's either people working to avenge him, or he survived."
"Could it have been an alias" Johny asked.
"Well after some hunting we found a bit of information that is pretty important."
"What is it" Johnny asked worriedly.
"Nooshy, I think your dad is trying to kill you under the alias Caleb Quarles, but your dad is dead."
"How could he do that if he's dead."
"I don't know but it doesn't really matter right now, all that matters is we need to keep you safe" Johnny interrupted, becoming increasingly nervous.
"And how are we supposed to do that, they found me once shouldn't we try to figure out how they did that, also again aren't they supposed to be dead."
"I'll see if I can find anything but from what I can find these guys should still be very dead, both the guys who attacked you, and your dad all have death dates and had open casket funerals with pictures of the body although that is suspicious because not many people take pictures of a body in a casket. So, either someone is pretending to be your dad pretending to be someone else trying to kill you or your dad isn't dead, did your dad have any siblings?" Marcus asked to try to gain anything else from this conversation.
"No, he was an only child" Nooshy responded getting a little annoyed at all the questions about her family.
"Look it getting late, do you have anywhere we can stay for the night?" Johnny asked clearly, tired from searching all day.
"Unfortunately we don't, and we can't risk having you both stay back at the garage because they know where that is."
"So where do we go" Nooshy asked also starting to get tired.
"Our best chance might be to just go to a hotel and try to find somewhere safe in the morning" Johnny responded.
"But won't they know your truck from when you picked me up" Nooshy pointed out.
"I have an extra car you can take" Marcus said tossing Johnny a set of keys.
"Alright then, let's see what we can find."
"Do we have clothes?"
"Yea I grabbed some before I left incase this happened"
"You just knew this might happen"
"After you went missing there was always a chance that we wouldn't go back there, and don't worry, I grabbed our other stuff too"
30 minutes later and they were driving down the streets of Calatonia looking for somewhere to stay for the night "Listening to music at night while driving is just kind of therapeutic you know" Nooshy said looking at Johnny
"Yea it's always really nice if you get the right song" Just as he said that one of his favorite songs came on, so he began to sing along
"I been reading books of old,
the legends and the myths
Achilles and his gold
Hercules and his gifts
Spider man's control
And batman with his fists"
And as the song went on Nooshy joined in "but clearly I don't see myself up on that list she said where'd you wanna go, how much you wanna risk, I'm not looking for somebody with some superhuman gifts, some superhero some fairytale bliss, just something I can turn to, somebody I can kiss I want something just like this"
"There's one" Johnny said
"Alright then, I hope it's not too expensive" Nooshy said
"Me too but at this point I'm so tired it doesn't matter what it costs as long as it has beds" Johnny said tiredly as he pulled into the closest parking spot
"Agreed" Nooshy said grabbing her backpack while Johnny grabbed his and they headed inside
"Hi, how much for a room" Johnny asked looking extremely tired
"$200" the llama behind the desk answered
They looked at each other in shock and horror until Johnny eventually said fine and paid
"Great, your room will be 407" The llama answered handing Johnny a key 5 minutes later they walked into the room and dropped onto their beds and were asleep instantly
Johnny woke up as groggy as ever and turned to Nooshy who was still asleep so he went and got ready for the day and just as he finished changing he saw Nooshy start to get up "Morning sleepyhead" he said as Nooshy climbed out of bed
"Morning" She responded "Hope you haven't been waiting on me too long."
"Nah I just finished getting ready" he said
"I just talked to my dad, he says he may have found a place for us to stay"
"That's nice, where is it" Nooshy responded still half asleep while packing her stuff back into her backpack
"It's over near the old part of town" Johnny explained
Nooshy, still only half awake "Do you think this place has coffee, I heard its good at keeping you awake"
"Yeah, probably Johnny replied"
"Good, can I have a gallon"
"You know, I agree" Johnny said "Let's go see if they have any downstairs"
