Fans of Heroes
When the Children of Millennia brought Lion-O and Snarf home to Thundera, the Thunderian prince began telling the other ThunderCats about his time in Egypt. He started with meeting the king of Egypt and talking about how kindly the pharaoh welcomed him and Snarf. The Thunderian prince also learned about what his friends did living in the palace, such as their schooling, how they worked, and even the kingdom's customs. He was even taught a bit of the kingdom's culture as he was given a grand tour around the palace and even out in the city. Lion-O got excited when he started talking about exploring the kingdom and seeing the many different races of people and different kinds of monsters and what their lives were like outside the palace.
The other ThunderCats listened, amazed to hear about the things Lion-O saw and did. It made Wilykat and Wilykit envious and wish they were there too. "You're so lucky," Wilykat said to Lion-O.
His sister agreed. "Now I really want to go to Egypt."
"I wouldn't mind taking a trip there myself," said Tygra. "It does sound fascinating." Panthro and Cheetara agreed. It's one thing to learn about Egypt from stories and books. Visiting the country and actually seeing it is another thing.
"Wait," Lion-O said, "I haven't told you the best part yet. I got to see Prince Atem and the others in actions as heroes."
"What happened?" Cheetara asked.
"A giant scorpion attacked us," the Thunderian prince answered. "Prince Atem and the others fought against it while protecting me and Snarf."
"They were really heroic," said Snarf. "The way they all worked together and used their magic and weapons was impressive. Even the monsters helped out and they were just as equally amazing."
"We also found out that our weapons have magical powers," said Atem. "My sword has ice powers, Kisara's dragon staff has light magic, Joseph's bow and arrows have lightning magic, and the fireballs in Freya's pouch don't even hurt her when she uses them."
"That's something," said Wilykat. "I bet the scorpion didn't stand a chance."
"It was a tough bug," said Lion-O. "Though Seto and Mahad used their magic and put a protection spell on everyone, Kirara got hurt trying to protect them."
Kisara stroked her partner's back, gently petting her. "She was poisoned after being attacked, but as you can see, she's perfectly healthy now. Mystery used a healing spell to cleanse the poison from her body."
"The rest of us didn't get hurt too badly," said Freya. "A few scrapes here and there, but nothing serious."
"You kids are crazy for taking on a giant insect monster the way you did, but then again, you're not ordinary children," said Pantrho.
Cheetara agreed. "It was pretty foolish on some standards, but you were also really brave."
"Fighting a giant scorpion to prevent it from causing any harm and damage was pretty heroic of you," Tygra figured.
Lion-O agreed. "I can't even begin to tell you how awesome it was seeing you guys for the heroes you are."
"You already did," Joseph reminded him. "But we were awesome, I guess."
"It's what we do," said Mystery. "As followers of Millennia, our cause is to keep our kingdom peaceful and help anyone in need. And whenever there is trouble, we'll be there. And though we like being heroes, that's not the reason we do it. We put ourselves out the way we do because it's the right thing to do."
Tygra nodded. "I can't think of a better reason."
An idea came to Seto. "You know, I think this calls for a song." He takes his guitar and begins strumming the strings to get the right tune. Mahad joins in and plays his flute and Joseph plays his drum. "Take it, Lion-O."
The Thunderian prince began singing. Long ago, when the Earth was young
Millennia became a Star
Shining brightly every night
Up so high and oh, so far
Then one night, the Millennium Star came down
And made her home in Egypt
Where her children were found
A team of boys and girls
Chosen to carry out her legacy
Now wherever they go,
Everyone's filled with ecstasy
When they see those noble heroes in every area: the Children of Millennia
Millennia, they protect all that is good
Millennia, their hearts are brave and pure
Millennia, being heroes like they should
Call on them and they'll be there for sure
The Children of Millennia
Every day, when they make their rounds in their beloved city
Evil monsters and villains attack
Without any care or pity
That's when these heroic children
Will fight those bad guys to the score
Vowing to keep their kingdom peaceful forevermore
The Children of Millennia
Millennia, they promised their protection
Millennia, to the defenseless and the poor
Millennia, on behalf of their Great Goddess
So no one would feel threated anymore
You've never seen heroic children like them before
The Children of Millennia
The ThunderCats danced to the song. Millennia, they all sang.
Protecting all that's good, Cheetara sang.
Their hearts are brave and pure, Tygra sang.
Being heroes like they should, Panthro sang.
The greatest heroes, that's for sure, the siblings sang together.
The Children of Millennia, the ThunderCats sang. "Yee-haw!" they all cheered, picking up the children and lifting them in the air. They all laughed with each other.
"Wowee," Wilykat said. "The more I learn about you guys, the more I hope I get to see you in action."
Her brother agreed. "And going to Egypt would also be a treat."
"We'll have to take you guys with us one of these days," said Joseph. "If Jaga will permit it, that is."
"There's so much we can show you and teach you like you've been doing for us," said Kisara. "Showing you our world would be the least we could do to thank you and repay you for all you've done."
"You kids don't owe us anything," Cheetara insisted. "Though we would like to see your world, and taking a trip to Egypt would be a grand idea, it wouldn't be right or fair of us to want so much from you."
Tygra agreed. "We're just glad that you kids are our friends and we're always happy to have you here. And we're happy to be here for you whenever any of you need us."
"And you don't have to stay cooped up here all the time," Panthro added. "You can explore outside as much as you want to. You might find an opportunity to do something helpful as you look around."
"We still love having you around, though," said Wilykat.
"And we love being here and spending time with all of you," Mystery returned. "You've all become dear friends to every one of us."
"Still, we would like to take you with us to see our kingdom someday," said Atem.
"There will be plenty of time for that," said Tygra.
"Just take it one day at a time," said Snarf.
That was what everyone decided to do. The Children of Millennia would continue to spend time with the ThunderCats and see and learn more about Thundera while also sharing more about themselves and their own world.
