Honorable Heroes

The Children of Millennia and their Magical Creatures returned to the Pure Valley. Neither of them could believe that they were being forced to leave Thundera under such cruel conditions. But like Jaga said, there was no choice. Thundera was about to meet a terrible fate that cannot be prevented.

A strange sensation began to come over Mystery. She hurried back to the end of the grove where the door to Thundera was located. Her friends followed her. When they got there, they saw that the door wasn't there anymore.

"The door to Thundera," Atem was saying, "it's… gone."

"How can this be?" Kisara asked.

There was only one way to find out. Mystery released the Millennium Star from her heart, hoping the Great Goddess would be able to explain this. She takes on her true form and speaks to her children. "Yes, my children. The door to Thundera has been closed and sealed away."

"But why?" Mana asked.

"You were warned by Jaga that Thundera will meet a cataclysmic end," the Great Goddess reminded them. "There is no longer any reason for there to be a door to a world that will cease to exist."

Tears began to well in Mystery's eyes. "But the Thunderians, our friends," she sobbed.

"There is no need to be saddened," Millennia assured her children. "The Thunderians will escape from Thundera and seek out new homes."

Freya voiced her thoughts and asked, "Then does that mean that there's a chance we could see our friends again in a new world?"

Unfortunately for the children, Millennia wasn't going to give out the answer. "Freya, always filled with hope, even in times of fear and despair. Your hope will take you far. All I can tell you is, if I give out the answer, it will be a cause for you to not need to have hope."

Freya understood and figured it was better that way.

Seto spoke up and asked, "Since we can no longer go to Thundera, does this mean we've served our purpose?"

"For the time being," Millennia answered. "There will come a time when you will be needed again in another world. When that time comes, I will let you know. But for now, you must keep fulfilling your duties back home in Egypt. Keep learning all that you can about each other and keep working together to keep your world peaceful." And she returns to her form as a Star and returns to Mystery's heart.

Atem wanted to believe that it wasn't entirely hopeless. Thundera would be gone, but at least Lion-O and the others would escape and seek out a new home. He placed his hand against the rocky wall. "Lion-O, wherever you are, I pray that you will live on; you and all of the other Thunderians."

Seto was silent for a moment, then he finally said, "Maybe this is for the best." Everyone looked at him in mild shock, wondering why he would say that. "I don't want any of you guys to misunderstand. I'm not glad that Thundera is about to be destroyed and of course, I'll miss all of our Thunderian friends. But we have to accept that we never really belonged in Thundera. We belong back home in Egypt. Our place is in our kingdom." And his amulet starts glowing.

"Seto is right," Mahad agreed. "I will always be grateful for everything I was taught during my time in Thundera and I will also be just as grateful for the friends we made. But Jaga reminded us that we have responsibilities and obligations as royal Egyptian children that we cannot ignore. Our time in Thundera may not have lasted for as long as we would have hoped, but it was grand while it lasted. Now it is time for us to return to the lives we know back home."

Atem knew his friends were right. "Yes," he agreed. "And like I established before, while we may not be Thunderians, we can still carry out the Code of Thundera in our own way. It can help us to truly become the leaders and protectors our kingdom needs."

"Can we really do that?" Joseph asked.

"We can," the prince declared. "By continuing to be the heroes we are and continuing to fulfill the wishes of the Great Goddess Millennia. Justice, truth, honor, and loyalty are all vital. But everything else that we stand for is just as important. Courage," he says, holding out his hand.

"Love," Mystery adds, putting her hand over his. The rest of the children name their elements and place their hands in as well.

"Joy," said Mana.

"Reliability," Mahad added.

"Friendship," Joseph stated.

"Hope," Freya added.

"Light," Kisara said.

"And wisdom," Seto finished, putting his hand on last.

Together, they all cry out, "Children of Millennia, ho!"
