Tony ranted at Kagome and Logan for hiding their relationship; Tony heard a splash of liquid hit the floor. He ignored it until he noticed that everyone was looking at his wife.
Sir, I believe Mrs. Stark is in labor, JARVIS told Tony.
Tony stood there dumbfounded; it took him a few seconds to get over the shock. While her father was in a daze, Kagome quickly walked toward her mother and used her priestess powers to ease the pain from the contractions that already started.
"Dad, we need to get Mom to the hospital," Kagome told her catatonic father.
"STARK!" Logan yelled, "You can freak out later; we must get Nodoka to the hospital."
I'm sorry, sir, but any direct route to the hospital has been blocked by debris. The only way to get there is to fly, JARVIS pointed out.
Tony shook his head, "My suit is wrecked; I can't fly Nodoka to the hospital."
Kagome walked toward her father and took his hands in hers, "Then, Mom will have to give birth here."
Tony stared at his daughter, then looked at his wife. Swiftly, he picked up Nodoka's bridal style and began walking toward the elevator so JARVIS could take them to the medical bay. Logan and Kagome followed closely behind, while Happy stopped Souta from following,
"We'll wait in the waiting room, buddy," Happy told Souta.
Souta was about to protest when he heard his mother scream in pain as the elevator doors closed. While the elevator rose to Med Bay, Kagome was giving orders to JARVIS about what she would need to deliver the babies.
Tony looked at his eldest daughter, "Are you sure you can do this?" Tony asked.
"Don't worry, Dad. I helped deliver a lot of babies in the Feudal Era."
Logan hugged Kagome, "I know you can do this, Darlin', and if you need me, I'll be there."
Tony scowled at the tall man and then looked at his daughter, "I'm going to be there too."
"Of course, Daddy, I would never let you not be with Mom."
Kagome looked at Logan. I will need you with me, Logan, but I'll use my powers to keep in touch with you. Kagome told Logan telepathically; Logan gave her a slight nod.
They reached the Med Bay, and everything was ready for the birth. Tony rushed in with Nodoka and put her on the hospital bed. With JARVIS' help, Kagome attached the baby monitor to her mother's abdomen to record her and the twin's vital signs. JARVIS was in charge of all the technical things, while Tony and Kagome helped Nodoka get as comfortable as she could.
Tony held his wife's hand and helped her breathe through the pain. Nodoka nearly broke Tony's hand during the contractions but said nothing. He tried to put on a brave face for his family.
Meanwhile, Logan was in the waiting room with Souta and Happy. He tried to distract the little boy by telling Souta stories about his life. It was working; Souta was so distracted listening to Logan that he could finally block out his mother's screams. While the two talked, Happy left to get food for everyone. He knew everyone was starving after the long battle and the surprised labor.
A few minutes after Happy left, Pepper showed up with some of the Avengers, namely Thor, Bruce, and Steve. Natasha and Clint needed to be debriefed. Pepper ran towards Souta and hugged him. Pepper looked at Logan, "How long has Nodoka been in labor," Pepper asked.
"Not long; Stark and Kagome are in there now. Kagome's going to help her mom give birth."
Pepper nodded and asked JARVIS to ask Kagome if she needed any help.
No, Ms. Potts, Miss Kagome has everything under control. If she does need something, I will tell you, JARVIS answered.
Pepper sat with the others, holding Happy's hand after he returned with the food. The group could only sit there and listen to Nodoka scream. JARVIS finally informed Pepper to bring more sheets, baby clothes, receiving blankets, and beanies for the babies.
Mr. Howlett, Miss Kagome needs you to come in and help Mr. Stark. Mrs. Stark had already broken two of his fingers. Mr. Stark needs a break.
Logan nodded and went into the bathroom to change into scrubs and to wash up a bit. He entered the room, and Tony scowled, "What are you doing here, Porcupine?" Tony asked.
Logan settled in the seat on the other side of Nodoka, "JARVIS said that you could use some help. He told me that Nodoka broke your hand. Go look at it, and I'll stay here with Nodoka."
Tony's eyes narrowed, but he agreed; his hand was throbbing, and it was beginning to swell, "I'll be right back. I am not missing the birth of my children."
"If you don't hurry, you will," Logan told his future father-in-law. Tony reluctantly left and met Bruce, who took him to have his hand examined.
While Bruce examined Tony's hand, Logan took Tony's place next to Nodoka and gave her his hand. She screamed and squeezed Logan's hand as hard as she could; Logan barely felt it. Logan encouraged Nodoka to breathe through the pain, and slowly, the contraction faded. Kagome didn't question why Logan knew what to do; she was only grateful for his help.
As soon as Tony's hand was bandaged, he returned to his wife. His eyes narrowed when Tony saw Logan holding Nodoka's hand. Kagome was checking the baby monitor when she spotted the look on her dad's face; then she saw his hand, "Dad, I think Logan should hold Mom's hand," Kagome told her dad.
"WHAT?! WHY?!"
"Because she can't break my hand, Bub. Adamantium or not," Logan informed Tony.
Tony was going to argue, but Nodoka agreed, "Sweetheart, you can help me with my breathing," Nodoka suggested.
Tony glared at his daughter's fiancée, 'Oh, God, my baby is engaged,' Tony thought, then turned a little green. He shook that thought away; now was not the time to think of something so disgusting.
Hours passed, and Nodoka asked if she could have visitors; Kagome agreed. Pepper and Souta were the first to come in. Souta was worried about his mom, but Kagome assured him everything was going well. Later, Bruce and Steve stopped by to wish Nodoka and Tony luck. After their debriefing, Natasha and Clint visited as well. Clint thought it was weird that Logan was in the room as well, but he saw Tony's bandaged hand and realized that Nodoka fractured a few bones and that Tony needed help. Clint would have offered to help, but he vividly remembers when Laura broke his thumb when she had Cooper.
Another hour passed, and Nodoka was ready to give birth. Logan decided that he should leave to give the Starks some privacy. He kissed his future mother-in-law's forehead and squeezed Tony's shoulder, "Good luck, Stark."
Logan then pecked Kagome on the lips, "Good luck, Princess. I love you," Logan whispered, then walked out and into the waiting room.
The birth took shorter than Kagome thought, and at midnight on May 6, 2012, Kazuto Edwin Stark and Sakura Ana Stark were born. Nodoka and Tony decided to give the twins Japanese first names but use Jarvis's and his wife's as their middle names. It was a way for Tony to commemorate the two people that meant so much to Tony.
Tony cried when he held his son and daughter. Kazuto looked much like Tony as a baby, though his hair was darker. And Sakura looked like her mother, though Tony was convinced she would have blue eyes like Kagome. Tony stared at his children for what seemed like hours. When he looked at Nodoka and Kagome, he noticed that Nodoka was cleaned of blood and afterbirth; now, his wife was sleeping peacefully. Kagome walked toward her father to see her new siblings. She cried when she saw how beautiful they were.
Tony stared at Kagome and sighed, "Alright, you have my permission and blessing to marry the porcupine. Only don't make me a grandfather too soon. Wait until the twins are at least three," Tony told his shocked daughter.
Kagome's mouth hung open as she stared at her father. It took a few seconds for what Tony said to sink in. She smiled brightly at her father, "Thank you, Daddy!" Kagome exclaimed, then she covered her mouth and peered down at the babies. Fortunately, they were still asleep.
Kagome carefully hugged her father, "You're welcome, Princess. Now I think there's a certain someone who will want to know this too."
Kagome kissed her dad again, then rushed toward the door. She paused and asked Tony, "What changed your mind?" Kagome asked.
"I watched how he acts around you. Logan truly loves you, and I don't want you to miss out on the happiness your mother and I have. Besides, I prefer the Porcupine to Point Break. At least I know Logan doesn't have some weird fetish with you being a priestess."
Kagome rolled her eyes and then left her parents alone with the babies. She had a certain Wolverine to tell the good news to.
