Organa fired his blaster again; Anakin effortlessly blocked the blast.
"Senator, that's enough," Anakin snapped while he was worried about someone stumbling on this mess; by now he was positive Palpatine knew he was on Coruscant and had alerted every single soldier near the Temple. Sooner or later someone was going to hear the sounds of blaster fire and the hum of his lightsaber, and Anakin did not want to be here when the soldiers arrived.
Anakin might have proven himself on the battlefield, many times over the last few years - relatively speaking - but he was still only one man, he could not fight an entire planet, and the less contact he had with the Sith Lord, the better…at least until he knew what the hell was going on.
His mind was racing as he tried to make sense of what Organa had said.
"What have I done?" Anakin demanded.
Organa made a face. "Why are you asking, you betrayed the Republic and slaughtered the Jedi in the Temple. Was it worth it in the end, Skywalker?" Organa punctuated the question with two more blaster shots. "Was it worth ten years of everything in the galaxy you supposedly fought for being torn apart?!"
Anakin batted the bolts away. While he was defending himself, he did it with the air of a man being so utterly bored, but he was worried by what the stupid senator was saying. He wanted more information about what happened with the Jedi, the Republic, and the rise of this evil empire where citizens were scared of walking down the streets without being harassed by the armoured thugs running around, all under the watch of a Sith Lord who just happened to be Anakin's old friend and mentor, he wanted to do it behind closed doors, not out in the middle of a street where anyone could stumble on this and raise the alarm!
Just as Anakin was about to try and talk some sense into Organa, and calm him down and make him put that blaster away, the senator fired wildly without really bothering to take the time to aim the blaster. The big problem with blasters was you could easily point one at the target, pull the trigger. No problem, but the man in front of him was just wildly firing. Organa was a pacifist, which made the reasons why he was carrying the weapon concerning and worrying, but considering the likely environment of the galaxy, Anakin could understand it, but he was worried about what he might have done to warrant this.
Anakin needed to do something to stop this, but how could he make Organa calm down? Anakin wondered what Obi-Wan would do, and then the answer came to him.
Without expending any effort, Anakin gently tore the blaster out of the outraged senator's hand, who was shocked and even scared, but Anakin deactivated the lightsaber, pointedly slowly bent down, put the lightsaber down on the filthy ground, and gently kicked it across - if the storm troopers came, he could effortlessly summon it back.
But he had made his point; Organa was shocked and he was listening.
"This is going to sound nuts, but I don't know what you're talking about. As far as I'm concerned, I'm still fighting in the Clone Wars. Just recently, Obi-Wan and my padawan, Ahsoka Tano, visited a world called Mortis. There, we found three powerful Force beings; the Daughter, the embodiment of the Light side of the Force, the Brother, who's the embodiment of the Dark, with the Father, providing balance between them. The story's complicated, but essentially they showed me a terrible future, and the Father decided to send me into said future. I felt as if my soul was being torn in half, and I swear I saw another version of me….being taken away," Anakin finished lamely as he didn't have the words to describe how this mess unfolded, "Look, I found myself on Naboo, in Padme Amidala's tomb, and then I saw the state of the galaxy," he went on.
Organa had been listening with a mix of shock and anger - a part of him wanted to physically attack the monster in front of him, but he was just…stunned, "It was you," he whispered when he realised, "you were the Jedi, on Naboo?"
Anakin nodded, "Yes," he replied without telling the truth. "I was boarding a transport for Coruscant, and there was another Jedi on the ship when this….this darksider boarded the ship with troopers. They demanded the Jedi come with them and threatened a young girl. I took his place, and I engaged him in a duel. It took me ages to get here."
"You endangered so many lives because of that stunt, you know that, don't you?" Organa accused.
Anakin stiffened with growing annoyance. "And what would have done, just sat there and watched?" He jeered. "Look, I don't need to justify myself to you. I want to know what the hell is going on here, and I am sick of playing games. Enough. It's enough, Senator. Can we go to your apartments, and talk. I need to know what's going on."
"Why should I take you?"
"I don't know how long I've got before I've got to return to my time; ever since I got here, I've had the feeling I won't be here for long, that I will return to my own time. I've accepted that, but I need to know what's going on, and I need to come up with a way to stop it," Anakin gave him a dangerous look, "Do you want to live in a galaxy like this, with the Sith in charge?"
"You have a lot of nerve to say that since you believed in Palpatine and put him in that position in the first place!"
Anakin had to bite his lip. To say he was becoming sick and tired of being accused of everything which went wrong in the universe was becoming an understatement, but Anakin could feel a grain of truth. He was loyal to people, and Palpatine was one of those people. The then Supreme Chancellor had been a friend, offering him support, someone to talk to, but now he could see Palpatine was not a politician, he was a Sith.
By the sound of it, Palpatine was Darth Sidious, and he had set his sights on Anakin to take over from Dooku and Maul as the Sith Apprentice. Is that what happened? It was beginning to sound like it, but Anakin was growing tired of not having the answers. He knew it wouldn't be as simple as Organa seemed to think.
Anakin had sworn never to turn to the dark despite the darkness he knew was inside of him, but it would only take a certain kind of event that would make him turn.
"Senator, please, we can argue later, but can't we can't go somewhere else, you can use your blaster later," Anakin replied solemnly.
