Story One: A Party for You
November 14th, 2008. Oskar was up a bit earlier than usual, yes, he was a vampire like his mate Eli, but this evening was different. It's been a long time, around 20 years since they have been together. And while it WASN'T the exact day, Oskar thought it would be better than waiting any longer. He was just setting everything else up, making sure it was perfect for Eli. He placed a fake cake on the table, neither of them could eat a real one, so a prop one would do. He inflated the balloons and tied them to parts of the apartment. He got his speaker out and set to one of Eli's favorite songs, the original 1954 Godzilla theme. He turned on the DVD player and popped in Invasion of Astro Monster, Eli's personal favorite Godzilla Movie. It was perfect. But he couldn't help but feel like he was missing something. He snapped his fingers, quickly digging into a chest and grabbing a banner. He levitated, connecting it above the TV. "Alright…Done." Oskar thought to himself. Now..to wait for Eli.
Around 10 minutes later, Eli slowly woke up, but quickly shot awake, immediately noticing Oskar wasn't there with her in bed. Eli's mind almost immediately went to panic when he noticed something on the bedside table. It was a note. "Hi, Honey. Sorry, I'm not there with you right now. Come downstairs, I think you're gonna love it." -Oskar. Eli smiled softly, smelling the note. It smelled like Oskar. She loved how Oskar smelt. It was a bit odd, but he really didn't mind. Her heart began to beat with anticipation, just what was his lover planning for her? Only one way to find out. Eli slipped on an old sweater that Oskar had picked up for them at a secondhand shop. The chill of the night was always present, but Eli barely felt it as they made their way down the creaky stairs of their shared apartment.
As he reached the bottom of the stairs, Eli could hear the Godzilla theme playing, which made her ears perk up and became filled with excitement. He loved Godzilla. Almost as much as she loved Oskar. But he loved Oskar more. Then Eli heard the familiar sounds of King Ghidorah from the Showa area, the music, straight from Invasion of Astro Monster. Eli's heart pounded even more as they got more giddy. That's when she heard Oskar walk towards the stairs from the living room, looking up at Eli, a smile on his face. "Hi sweetheart.." Oskar stammered. Eli turned bright red. "Sweetheart…? You never called me that before…. What's the occasion?" Eli asked. Oskar scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Well, do you remember when I asked you if you had a birthday and you told me you didn't remember?" Oskar asked. Eli got all the way down the stairs and was now staring at Oskar, her large eyes now filled with adoration and love. "Yes, why?" Eli asked, tilting his head in confusion. That was one of the many fun mannerisms Oskar noticed about Eli since they ran away together. One of them was tilting their head like a confused puppy, or when they'd play with their hair, or just play with Oskar's. Oskar motioned Eli to follow him.
When they got to the living room, Eli's jaw dropped as she processed what he was looking at. The banner said "Happy Birthday Eli!" Oskar slowly turned towards his lover. "Happy Birthday, Eli…" He said softly. Eli stood there, stunned, before she began to cry. Oskar began to panic. "Wait, no, no! I didn't mean to make you sad, please don't cry!" Oskar begged. Eli immediately rushed Oskar and hugged him. "Thank you….thank you so much! I love you so much!" Eli cheered. Oksar hugged Eli back, his face turning bright red. "No problem Honey.." Eli stopped Hugging Oskar, his gaze now fixated on the television playing Invasion of Astro Monster before she realized something. "Oskar…for people's birthdays…don't they usually get presents?" Eli asked sheepishly. Oskar grinned. "Look behind the couch." Oskar hinted. Eli nodded and walked over to the couch, picking up a small bag. "What's this?" Eli asked with curiosity. "Open it and find out." Oskar teased. Eli reached in, immediately feeling small dorsal plates. His eyes grew wide as she yanked the item out of the bag. Inside was a 2008 Bandai Classic Godzilla Final Wars Figure. Eli squealed in delight as he hugged the figure, causing it to roar in response. There was so much joy and wonder in Eli's eyes. "...So…do you like it?" Oskar asked. Eli stared daggers at Oskar, her big doe eyes staring at him. "Like it..? I love it!" exclaimed, her voice bubbling with pure joy. Oskar let out a sigh of relief, his smile growing wider as he watched Eli's reaction. It was everything he had hoped for—a moment of pure happiness for his partner, something special just for them.
Eli sat down on the couch, patting the spot next to her. With great speed, Oskar ran for the couch and sat beside Eli, putting his arm around him. "Do you remember when we Celebrated your birthday?" Eli asked. Oskar nodded. He remembered the evening well, and despite that he was turned by that point, Eli still wanted to celebrate it. "Yeah, of course I do, how could I forget?" Oskar assured. Eli smiled. "Do you remember what we did after the party?" Eli asked, her smile growing into a sultry grin. Oskar turned as red as a tomato. "U-Uh..Y-Yeah.. I do…what are you trying to say..?" Oskar asked. Eli's eyes were full of desire as he stared at Oskar. "L-Later…" Oskar stammered. Eli pouted a bit, before smiling. "...On my birthday, we can do anything I want, right?" Eli asked. Oskar nodded. "...Well, can I have a birthday kiss?" Eli asked. Oskar's face flushed even redder, his heart racing at Eli's request. He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself, and then nodded. "Y-Yeah, of course, you can," he stammered, offering a small smile. Eli's grin widened, and she leaned in closer, her eyes fluttering shut as she drew nearer to Oskar. "Anything you want to do? Anywhere you want to go?" Oskar asked. Eli looked up at Oskar. "...Yeah, I want to stay right here, with you by my side.." Eli whispered. Oskar smiled. "I love you, Eli…You're the best thing that ever happened to me." Oskar whispered. Eli's eyes became filled with love as he peppered Oskar's cheek with kisses. "E-Eli! C-Calm down!" Oskar said, trying not to squeal. Eli eventually stopped, nuzzling against her lover. "I love you too Oskar… you're the best thing that happened to me too…I love you so much…"
