Heroes vs Villains - Epilogue

Chapter 2 - Good Morning America

Sigh, okay. So here we are at the second and final part of this. This right here will officially end things with the first generation of characters once and for all. "Cool Kids vs Reptile Runaways" will be released between now and the first chapter of Survivor - India's pre-season. So with this being posted, the sixth season of Survivor will kick off at least 365 days from this point to make sure I have as many chapters ready as possible.

I used to release chapters by making a schedule for it, but I realized I was only putting more pressure on myself to meet deadlines. And with me being a grown man now, life's gonna get more busy down the road. But this is still my passion, so I'll release chapters for stuff whenever I can. If I feel like it's ready, then it's ready.

So let's get this interview going.

GOOD MORNING AMERICA

"Well, it's done. It's finished. The first ever Survivor All Stars season has come to a close, and Mr. Wolf O'Donnell is now the winner of season five's Survivor - Heroes vs Villains. He went from having an unfortunate demise in the first season, Kodai Island. But now, he has successfully redefined his legacy."

The same montage that was played during the reunion show containing the mercenary's best moments was now shown on screen once again. Only this time, a slightly shorter version of it for the sake of time constraints.

"On my best days I can actually be pretty polite... But the moment when you cross me I can pretty much be the worst person you'll ever encounter."

"VILLAINS WIN IMMUNITY!"

"You're not a real villain if you have any sympathy for 'em."

"Past relationships coming into this game, I think it's gonna play a major factor when it comes to a lot of these votes."

"I might have to vote you out tonight."

"Bowser."

"He definitely got between me and Bowser. But he's not gonna have me on all fours and pull me along with a leash. I may be a lot of things, but I ain't no lapdog."

"Springtrap."

"WOLF WINS FINAL IMMUNITY!"

"The winner of Survivor - Heroes vs Villains: Wolf!"

-/-

There were a couple of curse words he threw out there that were a part of his montage, but Good Morning America was a family friendly network. So,... those did not make the cut, which only made the producers' lives a bit easier due to them being told to cut certain parts of the footage, anyway.

"Welcome to Good Morning America!" And who was doing the interviewing? None other than ROB the robot himself. The same Smasher who was in charge of interacting with the castaways pre-season. "I'm here with you, live with the season's winner. Wolf, congratulations. Job well done."

Maybe a news reporter from the GMA crew would have been a better option, but Smash fans were already familiar with ROB and he actually had a role in the show. So,... why not?

Anyway, Wolf held a confident smile. "Thank you very much."

"And we have Plague Knight and Yoshi sitting right beside him who are also here today." And they were each given their separate shot to the viewers watching from home. "They were the other two finalists at the Final Tribal Council where Plague Knight finished second and Yoshi got third place."

"So Wolf, we'll start things off with you." Because he was extremely important, since the usual saying was that no one remembered second place… Supposedly that could have meant that third place was completely irrelevant.

But now was a time to be nice. Plague and Yoshi probably did not feel like being thrown under the bus first thing in the morning.

"Did you feel like you have redeemed yourself completely with your winning story this season?"

"Ain't that the phrase of this season? 'Return, Revenge, Redemption?' Seems like I've done all three. I've made my return, Sonic and I are both winners now, and I got that Sole Survivor title. What else can a man ask for?"

"Notice how you mentioned the title of Sole Survivor and not the money." Ooh. Sounded like ROB knew how to pay attention to detail. "You know, people say that you didn't even need the money. I mean you're literally a mercenary in space."

"Well when I first came on the show it wasn't about the money. I'm a competitive guy and I like to see how far I can go when it comes to stuff like this. I made a decent run in Kodai Island, but there were glaring flaws about my game. And one toxic thing about me is that I'm such a perfectionist, so there were decisions and choices that I've made that I was never really proud of. That's why it's important to note that the biggest part about me winning is seeking that redemption as a player, and…" The clawed StarFox menace lifted his hands. "-I was able to pull that off rather nicely."

That sense of self-accomplishment was certainly much needed for him. It took a really good player to make it all the way to day thirty-nine and get the votes.

"Really nice to hear about your story and growth as a player. I remember last night there was a shot of your million dollar check with Panther and Leon, two of your boys that were in the audience. The fact that you trust them enough to literally hold your money for you really speaks volumes of how strong your friendship is with them."

A chuckle came from his mouth. "If I can't trust my pals to hold my money for me, who can I trust in this universe? Some people in life find it hard to trust anyone due to bridges being burnt, so I'm forever grateful for those two. I've been on two seasons, won one, Panther's been on a season of his own, we finally took a part in the Loved Ones reward, and now Leon's competing next season. Seems like the real life StarWolf alliance is probably the most unbreakable alliance of all time."

"I guess there's nothing stopping you three."

Honestly, if the StarFox series was a bigger name in the world of Nintendo, this was the perfect opportunity for the franchise to get more buzz around it. But hey, since StarFox was never as big a priority compared to the other big name franchises of Nintendo, it resulted in our favorite anthropomorphic characters taking a backseat. If it took a Survivor show of all things to do the series justice, so be it.

"So Plague Knight and Yoshi, you two did not end up winning this season. However, you two made history anyway. Nobody has ever played as many days as you in the game, since you both made a full run not once, twice. Seventy-eight days each. Both of you guys have never been voted out. How does that make the both of you feel?"

"I think it's the closest thing we can get if we were never going to win a season." said the potion master. "I'll take this over being voted out in either of my seasons anyday. Sure, Wolf winning final immunity completely messed things up for me and he knows it."

And he reacted by simply hunching his shoulders, knowing that was more of Plague's problem instead of his.

"But you know, it's fine. It really is. I can't say that I've made two full runs of the game without saying that I had some growing to do. The goal for me was to sit next to Yoshi and Ryu, but that went out the window once Wolf got that necklace."

"It's the ultimate sabotage." The former Kodai Island contestant spoke casually.

"It really was!" Plague ignored Yoshi's laughter as he kept going. "I feel like the jury felt that Ryu didn't play as strong of a game, and they already wrote off Yoshi. With me, I was at least aligned with the man who ended up taking control of most of the post-merge of the season. Since I was associated with that, it would have been enough for the jury to vote for me (even though probably a lot of them felt rather indifferent towards me since Wolf, Shadow, and Springtrap were the only three people I really had any kind of connection with). With that being said, Wolf was a player people highly respected. If it meant that I had to lose to him,... that obviously does not make me happy. Though the most positive thing I can say is that I've grown as a person since."

"See?" Wolf went out of his way to rub Plague on the shoulders. "He's comfortable losing. What a good sport this guy is."

ROB chuckled at his comments. "Hey, as long as he's okay with what ended up happening."

"Truth be told, I did end up thinking about me screwing Plague over and it kinda made me feel a certain way. I just wanted to put that out there in case folks would go out of their way and say that I have no sympathy for him or anything, but I did think about it. Felt bad for the guy since aside from Springtrap, he was always aligned with me ever since the post-merge phase of the game began. But,... it is what it is. It was either me winning or being voted out right before the end."

"That's what I told him that he has nothing to apologize for." It appeared that both the alchemist and the pilot had no desire for the media or fans to stir something up. "We are both fine with the way things went."

"So Yoshi, I want to hear from you. Like Plague Knight, you played for the most amount of days ever. To have that record, is it safe to say that you're rather content with it knowing that during the reunion show you outright told the world that this game was not really for you?"

"I mean, I can't say that it is built for someone like me." The dino knew it was a moment where he had to be honest with himself. "I am the kind of person that highly values friendship and everyone who knows me knows that. It takes a lot out of me to deceive somebody or try to hurt someone else just to use that to my own advantage. It would be very selfish of me to do that. Friendships aren't about using others for the sake of your own benefit. You're not a real friend of mine if something like that was to happen to me… outside Survivor. But I do understand that it's what people have to do to get to the top, and… I'm not really built like that."

"With all the criticism that came my way,... they were right in some areas. This game is not really for me, and there's nothing wrong with that I suppose. I did try to do some things to change the perception of me, but I had to learn what the truth was. It took me two seasons for me to understand that while watching Survivor can be for a lot of people, actually playing Survivor is something that is not meant for everybody. You can get too hungry, too cold at night, not the biggest challenge person, can't swim, and the paranoia that comes with it by worrying about people talking about you behind your back. It may not look too difficult if you're just watching the show on a TV screen, but if you're actually a contestant on a season, there's a lot more that comes with it."

"It definitely is a harder game than it appears to be." Wolf nodded in agreement. "I believe that's something all seventy-eight of us can say. People do struggle out there, and I want to make sure that does not fall on deaf ears. You see Shadow struggling with his own demons during his time out there, so people really go through it. If you decide that playing this game is not really meant for you personally, that's okay. Not the end of the world. Doesn't make you look weak in any way."

Yes, in case some folks decided to belittle others for not wanting to play the game due to them thinking they were 'not mentally strong or tough enough.'

"I suppose even I had my demons inside with me… being mad with the world." Plague chimed in. "Or in this case, being mad and frustrated at everybody for things not exactly going the way I wanted them to."

"Maybe it goes to show that while people may not be the biggest fan of this final three, myself, Plague, and Yoshi all represent different messages of the show altogether. I guess things do happen for a reason."

That was another thing about Mr. O'Donnell. He was highly intelligent.

"Well, we're almost out of time here." See? Time constraints always existed on television. They were other shows and other things to talk about. "But Wolf, if there's one thing I can say, due to your job and winning the money, you're basically set for life. You don't have to work anymore."

"I do love my job and all. Sometimes a little action is what you need in life. However,... it is good to relax and not worry as much. When I do perform in outer space, I am putting my life on the line. And folks that care about me are worried sick of something bad happening. So, um…" He folded his lips in before finishing his sentence. "-maybe I'll just stick around for a while. That sounds nice."

"It really does sound nice. We don't need our first Survivor obituary happening any time soon." No, no, no. It was not good at all to even think about that. "Wolf, Plague, Yoshi, you all deserve a huge congratulations. Great to have you three on."

GOOD MORNING AMERICA

Alright. So... we had the 5th Season Anniversary Special, the pre-season Meet the Cast, the main story, Final Words Extended, Ponderosa, and this. That's six stories for this era. This really was a slow burn, five season anniversary of this series, as well as me celebrating my 10th anniversy on this site because I've been writing for over 10 years now.

With that being said, next time you guys will hear from me is the spinoff. First chapter will be posted whenever, and while I post chapters for that, I'll be working on India at the same time. I'll see you guys around! This has been really fun, and I hope you all enjoyed!
