Titanfall: Pandora (Titanfall x Avatar crossover)
Summary: With the Frontier war in full swing, critical resources needed to sustain the core worlds have reached critical levels, the most important of which being unobtanium, an essential component needed to make starships. With Pandora being the only world not located in the Frontier that contains this essential resource, the Resource Development Administration contracts a group of pilot PMCs to augment it's regular security forces and ensure the mineral's extraction.
(Location: Hell's Gate, cafeteria 2-A)
Jake Sully pushed on the wheels of his wheelchair as he made his way through the corridors. having just arrived on Pandora roughly twenty minutes ago on the latest Valkyrie shuttle ride. As he made his way through, many people who walked past him gave him confused looks in which he returned with a small glare of his own. Though if he was being honest with himself, he couldn't really blame them. After all, who would willingly go to one of the most valuable- but ultimately the more dangerous- planet known to the human race in a wheelchair.
Like many, Jak had heard stories about this planet, or moon to be more accurate that was orbiting a planet with a dozen other moon. He heard about people being torn apart by the wildlife and how the ones who were fortunate enough to survive were maimed for life. Hell, he even heard how one guy lost his arm to a plant. A friggin' plant! Still, he did not let that stop him. He was many things but a quiter was not one of them.
"-You are not in Kansas anymore. You are on Pandora, ladies and gentlemen." Was the first thing that Jake Sully heard as he wheeled his way into the cafeteria overlooking the central landing zone of Hell's gate. The primary base of operations for the RDA on Pandora. Some of the new arrivals turning their heads to look at him before turning back to the man giving them their safety briefing.
"If there us indeed a Hell... you might want to go there for some R&R after a tour on Pandora. Out there beyond that fence." He pointed out to the jungle that laid just beyond the towering fences that formed the perimeter of the base before turning back to the group. Revealing his scarred head and dead serious expression on his face. "Everything that crawls, flies, or squats in the mud wants to kill you and eat your eyes for jujubes.
We have an indigenous population of humanoids called the Na'vi. They're very fond of arrows dipped with a neurotoxin that stop your heart in less than a minute. And they are bones reinforced with a naturally occurring carbon fiber. They are very hard to kill."
"As head of security, it is my job to keep you alive..." He said before his tone became a lot more regretful and solemn. "...I will not succeed. Not with all of you. If you want to survive, you have got to cultivate a strong mental attitude. You've got to obey the rules. Pandora rules. Rule number one-"
He paused as the doors to the cafeteria doors opened. A brief look of surprise filled his eyes before they quickly returned to the stoic look they were having seconds before. As everyone turned their heads to look what had caught his attention, they saw five figures in advanced kit waled into the room with the kind of confidence only genuine hardened warriors could attain.
There were a few that even gasped as they all knew who they they were. Pilots. Not the kind that flew aircraft and planes, mind you. No. The kind that operated giant walking mechs known as titans. The ones that were revered as gods on the battlefield and were capable of taking on entire squads of infantry at once.
After the initial shock of seeing actual Pilots here, Jake's surprise quickly turned to confusion. As far as he had been aware, only the IMC fielded pilots as they were responsible for maintaining law and order on the frontier. He hadn't heard of the RDA having their own pilots. Perhaps these ones had come from a PMC that also had pilots working for them. Thought those kinds of PMCs were not exactly common as the kit needed to outfit them was rather expensive. Not to mention the costs needed to maintain, arm, and transported there titans as well. Assuming the group before him brought titans with them.
"Well I'll be..." The head of security smile as he greeted the group. "Wasn't quite sure the company was being truthful when they said they were hiring you fellas."
He held out his hand as he introduced himself. "Colonel Miles Quaritch. Head of security here on Pandora."
The man with the diamond shaped visor that glowed blue shook his hand. "Nice to meet you, Colonel. Name's Marcus Recker, but just call me Monarch." He began gesturing to his teammates. "This right here is Prez..."
They all began shacking the Colonel's hand as Monarch introduced them
"...Diplomat, Comic, and Playboy. Hitman squadron of Sicario. Understand that for the duration of our contract we report to you. Looking forward to working with you, sir."
Quaritch smirked as he nodded. "Likewise. I'm going over the rules, so please take a seat."
The pilots nodded as they sat together at one of the empty tables. Ignoring the glances thrown their way
And scene! That was it for the preview, hope you all enjoyed the first idea in this thread. Take care guys, and remember... stay frosty, gents.
