Resident Evil: The Creeping Darkness

Prologue chapter of my new first story for my new Resident Evil series, revamped as while I liked the first one, new ideas came to me that I felt would take things in a better direction, so, here we go with this version, enjoy.

Disclaimer: I don't own Resident Evil or its characters.

Prologue

July 22nd 2009

The seventeen year old women smiled as she walked out of the building, Raccoon City High School, she had her bag slung over her left shoulders, she was clad in her school uniform, something which she shared with all the girls in Raccoon City High School. Said uniform consisted of a black long sleeve top with a red school tie around her neck and knotted off in the centre, a red mid-thigh pleated skirt followed by knee-high black socks with a red lining and finally some blue school shoes.

"So...how did it go, Jasmine?" The young man who had joined her asked.

Like Jasmine he was seventeen but both would be coming up for eighteen and so were going to be Seniors when they started up school again, it was practically summer vacation by now but they had to meet with some of the faculty to finalise a few things, and the school rules were strict regarding uniform. Her birthday was in September, his was in November. She was medium height at five foot five, had auburn brown hair in a chin length bob, blue eyes, and freckles across her face, her skin was pale and she was rather skinny. She was eye shadow and eyeliner, although it was quite understated. As accessories she wore a set of three coloured bangles on her right wrist that appeared to be silicone wristbands. The boy was a little taller than the girl at five foot seven with short neat dark red hair, hazel eyes behind glasses and fair skin, a regular build and wore the boys version of the uniform. The colours matched with him wearing a pair of red slacks, a black long sleeve shirt with a red tie; black socks and blue school shoes.

The two were in fact friends although there were 'moments' between them that seemed to suggest something different. But they didn't dwell on it if they could help it.

Jasmine grinned. "Alright, went pretty well I'd say, what about you, Jamie?"

Jamie shrugged. "Same."

They walked further towards the exit of the school campus when another voice cut in.

"Hey, Jasmine!"

They turned to see an African-American running up to them, already eighteen, with light brown ivory skin, roughly Jamie's height with medium long brown hair that was rather curly and tied back, brown eyes and a fit build, something that made sense with her being part of the school's athletics team, even dressed the part in white shorts and a tank-top, white ankle socks and a matching pair of sneakers.

Jasmine smiled warmly and greeted the girl.

"Hey Dina, what's up?" She asked.

Dina Fairbanks grinned. "I'm okay, I've gotta get to work on the team but I was hoping, you'll be around tomorrow for us to hang out before I head off to see my folks over summer, right?"

Jasmine nodded. "Yeah, no problem, see you then. After that, it's vacation time."

Dina grinned. "Yeah, can't believe it's summer already, well, I'll be sure to call you over the break, maybe you can guys can come up to my place and we can hang out."

"Sounds like fun, we'll be there." Jasmine said warmly.

Jamie nodded. "Sounds good to me...I'll be away seeing family but I'll make sure I make time."

The three of them were all friends so it wasn't a problem that they would discuss plans like this.

Dina nodded before turning and heading off the University sports field while Jasmine turned to her friend.

"Well, that settles that." She said. "Ah, here's my ride, I guess I'll see you later, I gotta get home."

Jamie nodded as he noted the sleek black car pulling up.

"Okay, take care, I'll see you later." He said.

He walked off and then Jasmine's phone buzzed, she checked it and bit her lip.

"Jasmine." She read. "Something's come up and I won't be home tonight, in fact, it might be for the best for you to come and join me, head home and put away anything you don't need and the driver will wait and bring you to me."

Jasmine sighed. 'Typical dad, let me see...Yeah, I'll just have to leave my bag, maybe I'll try and change clothes, don't feel like being in this uniform much longer, urg, this skirt...'

She grimaced but squared her shoulders and walked over to where the car waited, the driver had the window down and nodded to her, indicating he knew about the message. She made their way over quickly and got into the back seat and once the door was closed the car instantly drove off. She made sure to tuck her skirt up underneath her as she looked back to the front of the car, the divider was up, separating the front and back, but she could tell the window was up and the driver was focused on the road. Jasmine settled back to wait for the car ride to end, wondering where in the city she were going to find herself this time, this wasn't the first time she had ended up in this sort of situation. Being so used to her current situation her guard was down, so she didn't notice that the partition between the front and back wasn't just up, but sealed and that there was a faint hiss as the gas was released into the back and before long she felt groggy, then her vision blurred before she could react she finally slumped over and soon blacked out.
