Wanning watches from the side as Mo Ran stare at the bowl. Teeth biting lips, fingers rubbing against each other, nervously. His heart doesn't feel like it's working properly. He also can't hear anything.

He had a plan. He was going to cook for Mo Ran than set the bowl in front of his room. He wanted to have Shi Mei deliver it like always but the man's not here at the moment. Then he thought about it, he's dating Mo Ran he doesn't need to hide anymore. A problem surfaces when the idea of him presenting "Shi Mei precious wontons" to Mo Ran comes, how does he explain that it's been him the whole time? If he does then it would seem like a lie. Or worse as if he's trying to discredit Shi Mei. Would Mo Ran even believe him? He'd start to question him but the answers would seem too coincidental to be believable.

So what's he to do?

Plop. Plop. Plop.

Getting a good look at Mo Ran Wanning finds the younger man crying. Wanning turns cold. What went wrong? "Do you not want it?" Wanning asks, not noticing how scared it came out. He steps to Mo Ran hand hovering not sure if he could touch him. Would that be comforting?

Mo Ran nods his head as he wipes his eyes and cheeks of tears. "You made this for me." He states.

"Mm." Wanning nods. He did, he also didn't expect it to take so long. He also didn't expect Mo Ran to come here.

"Why?" Mo Ran asks, voice wobbly with emotion.

"You seemed... upset earlier today. I... I thought you'd enjoy it... do...? Do you not like it?" Wanning asks not sure how Mo Ran feels about it. "It should be edible." Wanning reassures. He knows the last time his disciples ate something he made they were bound to the outhouse. He didn't bother them about classes or training.

"I love you." Mo Ran says. Wanning blinks at Mo Ran confession. An odd time but he's not complaining, neither is his heart.

"I... love you too." He answers wanting Mo Ran to hear him say it and he hopes it makes the crying man feel better. Mo Ran looks at Wanning as if the older man had shattered his world. Wanning can not tell if it's a good shatter or bad. Mo Ran pulls Wanning into his lap, hugging him tight. Their bodies flush against each other. Wanning too stunned to react.

"I love you. I love you. I love you." Mo Ran repeats holding Wanning close. The older one of the two let's him. Not sure what's going on but it's obvious the taller of the two need this. Wanning hugs him back, though awkward the other doesn't seem to mind.

After about ten more minutes Mo Ran stops crying to hold Wanning in his arms. Another ten minutes pass, the bowl is lukewarm now. Mo Ran stares at it for a while.

"Wanning," Mo Ran voice is clear and soft but confused, "where are the wontons?" He questions. His arm are secure but loose as Wanning stiffens. Wanning back up to face Mo Ran, eyes wide.

"You know?" Wanning tightens his hand around Mo Ran shoulders, hands trembling slightly. Mo Ran nods. Wanning opens his mouth to ask how he learned but the question dies in his throat. Does he really need too? Does he want to hear how?

"Wanning?" Mo Ran questions using those eyes Wanning can never say no too. Large warm hands tighten slightly on his hips.

Wanning looks away, head turn towards the wall. "I thought you were unaware of the fact I made those for you, with Shi Mei absent I decided to... improvise the wontons for something else." he answers. He must be making a fool of himself.

Mo Ran grins wide, leaning forward to lay a kiss on Wanning cheek. "Thank you for cooking for me. When you cook again can I get wontons instead?" He questions with another kiss to the cheek. Wanning face burning hot.

"I... okay." Wanning nods not able to look at Mo Ran. Wanning had wanted to lecture the man but nothing came to mind. Plus he didn't mind cooking for Mo Ran, even if it's the one dish. Just knowing Mo Ran knows the truth makes him feel better, also lifts a weight off his shoulders. If a situation like today were to happen again he won't need to hide his cooking. Speaking of, "are you okay?" Wanning asks softly. Mo Ran gives Wanning his charming smile.

"Yes. Better." And he does feel better, way better than earlier.

"What... happened?" Wanning asks unsure if he can asks. "You don't need to answer." Wanning adds looking away to the bowl. Twisting to get a look.

Mo Ran pulls him closer, his grin smaller than before but still there. "I was feeling insecure." He says. Wanning turning to him.

"What?" Wanning asks mouth agape. Mo Ran chuckles. He pulls Wanning closer, resting his head on Wanning shoulder breathing in his scent. He can never get enough.

"I was wondering why you would love me? I feel like I don't deserve you."

"I can decide that." Wanning bites back.

"Why do you love me, Wanning?" Mo Ran asks hiding his face in Wanning neck.

Wanning wraps his arms around Mo Ran shoulder, rubbing circles in his back, he hopes they are soothing. "I fell in love with your heart." He says. Mo Ran freezes. Did he say the wrong thing?

"What... about my heart?" Mo Ran asks tense.

"Your kind heart. The first example of this is when you helped a worm. I've never seen someone else do that. I know you are very kind and selfless. And I know you've had a hard life which makes your selfless acts shine even brighter." Wanning looks down at Mo Ran, he seems to have relaxed. He rest his cheek against the top of Mo Ran head, he too takes in a breath of his scent. His natural musk. "There are not many who showmekindness but you were one of them. It made me happy. Very happy." Wanning feels his heart clench at the reminder of those days not lasting longer. Wanning continues, "I squandered it with my own actions."

"You didn't." Mo Ran tells him, placing a kiss on his neck. Mo Ran leans back looking at Wanning beautiful face blushing but melancholy. "It's not your fault." Mo Ran lays a kiss on the tip of Wanning nose.

"But it's not yours either." Wanning says back. Mo Ran stares at Wanning. He can still remember the moment his feelings change. Because of a flower he picked. He knows Wanning felt bad about punishing him. Looking back he feels like he threw things out of proportion. He overreacted.

"I don't blame you." Mo Ran says seriously. He doesn't.

"I don't blame you." Wanning says just as serious. Looking into those honey eyes Mo Ran knows it's true.

"Then... that's it." Mo Ran smiles. Wanning just blinks. Is that it? Are they just getting over it? No pointing fingers? "Now it's time to eat. I'm starving." Mo Ran announces loudly though there's no one but them here.

"Oh. Excus-" Wanning starts to move off Mo Ran but the taller man holds him in place. Wanning turns to Mo Ran who stare at him with a smile. Though his eyes are dark.

"Stay here." He commands. Wanning nods silently relaxing in his hold.

Wanning watches Mo Ran eat the bowl of noodles. With how messy he ate them he must have enjoyed them. Seeing him devour the bowl one would think he was starving. But Wanning couldn't help but smile as Mo Ran ate every speck of it. He never got to see Mo Ran eat or enjoy the one dish he actual enjoys eating. He's very happy that he can now.
