Welcome back my friends. Today, we'll be seeing characters affiliated with Wario join the fray!
Waluigi, his friend and partner in crime.
Ashley and Red, a witch and her imp companion who are employees at WarioWare Inc.
And Captain Syrup, Wario's rival in treasure hunting from the Wario Land games
Waluigi has made his first appearance in Brawl as an Assist Trophy and has remained such since than, despite many fans wanting him as a playable character. Despite being introduced in sport games to give Wario a partner, he's become popular alongside Daisy, despite her only having two mainline appearances (Super Mario Land and Super Mario Bros. Wonder). Waluigi deserves to be playable and hopefully appear in a mainline game someday.
Ashley is also an Assist Trophy appearing from Smash 3DS/Wii U and Ultimate. She's notably one of WarioWare's most popular characters, so why not have her playable? Granted, Young Cricket or Master Mantis could also work, but let's give it a go to Ashley and have Red come along with his friend for the ride.
As for Captain Syrup, she's noted to be Wario's most recurring Rival in the Wario Land games where she and Wario try to outsmart the other to get each other's treasure in the games, with Wario usually besting her. She also appeared as an ally in Wario Land Shake!, but she has her own agenda despite assisting him in the game regarding the Bottomless Coin Sack 😏.
While Waluigi and Ashley have their own Trophy Descriptions, they are alerted to fit them being playable instead of being Assist Trophies in this story. Also, I will admit I do have to accommodate for Syrup not having much to work with in regards to her moveset, but I'm able to get something going at least.
Anyway, let's see how these characters associated with the greedy treasure hunter/Microgame Manager does in Smash!

A cutscene shows a three way split scene showing three different mailboxs, one with an Γ, one that is Gothic, and the last one with heart on it. Then, three figures open the boxes to pull out Smash Invitations complete with a note that says.
I managed to smuggle these out from Sakurai's nose!
Come on and get in on Smash!
Help me collect some loot and treasure and
put these loser chumps through the wringer!
- Wario
Zooming in on their faces, the lanky man smirks, the lady smiles and the girl just shrugs before it cuts to black. The screen cuts to Wario, wearing his classic overalls, hiding on the Pirate Ship, watching Toon Link, King K. Rool, Sora and The Ice Climbers admiring the treasure they managed to obtain. Than, Wario steps out of the shadows.
Wario: "All right you chumps! Hand over the treasure if you know what's good for you!"
The Four get into their fighting stances until four shadows appear from above them as Wario cackles.
Wario: "Say hello to my cohorts! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
The lanky figure lands down in a ta-da pose with a tennis racket in hand.
Waluigi: "It's time I finally joined Smash!"
WALUIGI FINALLY COMES OUT FROM THE SHADOWS!
Than the woman leaps down with some Pirate Gooms and winks at the group of fighters.
CAPTAIN SYRUP IS READY TO STEAL SOME TREASURE!
Lastly, the girl floats down on her broom along with a little imp like creature.
Red: "Isn't this great Ashley!? We get to throw down in Smash!"
Ashley: "At least it won't be boring."
ASHLEY & RED COMES OUT FROM THE HAUNTED MANSION!
Wario: "Let's show these morons what we're made of!"
It cuts to gameplay as Waluigi lands on the Hollow Bastion stage and fights Sora, Donkey Kong and Little Mac, using his unsual array of attacks and speicals utilizing his equipment from the Spin-Off Mario games.
Waluigi: "Wahahahaha! Waluigi is number one!"
It than cuts to the Luigi's Mansion stage as Ashley & Red preparing to face the Ice Climbers, Duck Hunt and Banjo & Kazooie.
Red: "We're the best duo there is Ashley! Let's show them!"
Ashley: "Meh."
Ashley & Red begin to fight the other duo fighters as they use Ashley's whimsical magic spells and Red's trident and bombs to fight them off.

Palutena's Guidance (Walugi)
Pit: "Wait a moment... what happened to Luigi!?"
Palutena: "No... that isn't Luigi. This is Waluigi."
Pit: "Waluigi?"
Viridi: "He's pretty much Wario's partner in crime and best buddy."
Pit: "Really!? Wait, are they brothers!?"
Viridi: "Actually no, they aren't brothers. Just two bad men who found a friend in each other."
Pit: "How come I haven't seen him around much?"
Palutena: "Well, he's pretty much relegated himself to competing in sports, parties and kart racing in his spare time. He even tried to take to steal the Music Keys from Truffle Tower in hopes of becoming the best dancer at the expense of music causing wacky hijinks!"
Pit: "Wowza! That's crazy!"
Viridi: "Waluigi even weaponized everything he knows! He'll use sports equipment, dice blocks and even dancing to give you his own equivalent of a rotten day."
Palutena: "Waluigi's tennis racket can even knock projectiles or items back at his opponent! It's especially bad if you throw a Pokéball at him."
Pit: "Why's that?"
Palutena: "If he hits the Pokéball with his racket, they'll work for him instead of the opponent."
Pit: "THAT'S CHEATING!"
Viridi: "Pit. This is Smash. Anything goes."
Viridi: "Just keep your guard up and if you do fire your Bow and throw stuff at him, do it while his back is turned."
Palutena's Guidance (Ashley)
Pit: "Who's the girl and the floating red thing?"
Palutena: "The girl's name is Ashley. She's a witch that trains in magic who lives in a huanted mansion in Diamond City.
Viridi: "the little creature is an imp named Red. He's Ashley's best friend who can shapshift into a lot of things such as a broom or a wand."
Pit: "Quite the unsual pair. What's their deal?"
Palutena: "Whenever Ashley's not practicing with magic, she and Red work as Microgame employees at WarioWare Inc."
Pit: "What!? They work for Wario!?"
Viridi: "Yeah, you can imagine their wage might be difficult to manage with a greedy man like Wario. Thankfully, they and the other employees do get their paycheck from Wario one way or another."
Palutena: "As for how they fight, Asley utilizes her magic while Red assits her by shapshifting, attacking with his trident and dropping bombs."
Pit: "Sounds tricky. But it's nothing I can't handle!"
Viridi: "And Pit? I know you enjoy eating food off the ground, but if Ashley and Red get their Final Smash...
Viridi: "IGNORE THE GIANT ROLLING DOUGHNUTS OF DEATH! And the Mandrakes."
Pit: "Why would Doughnuts be dangerous!? And... what the heck's a Mandrake?"
Palutena's Guidance (Captain Syrup)
Pit: "This lady looks like trouble."
Palutena: "Indeed you are right. This is Syrup, the captain of the Black Sugar Gang, a group of devious pirates known for stealing treasures."
Pit: "Any relation to Wario? Considering that's his angle."
Palutena: "The two are firce rivals. After Syrup stole a golden statue of Princess Peach, Wario defeated her for it... only for Mario to recover it before Wario can."
Pit: "Good thing Mario was there!"
Palutena: "Since than, the two constantly try to one up the other. The only time Syrup obtained victory was after Wario saved the Shake Dimension from the Shake King."
Viridi: "Yup, she made off with the Bottomless Coin Sack after Wario took it. Than again, Wario had it coming after throwing that world's queen to the side like a Sack of potatoes."
Pit: "Yikes! He's never like that with Peach..."
Palutena: "As for Syrup, she knows how to defend herself with some leg work, but she mostly relies on summoning her gand to fight for her and can use her mech once she gets the Smash Ball."
Pit: "You think she would know how to fight by herself. I mean, you can fight if you need to Lady Palutena!"
Pit: "By the way, when the next Kid Icarus game comes out, think we can fight on the field together sometime?"
Palutena: "That could be interesting..."
Viridi: "Really? Need I remind you about Galeem?"
Pit: "NOOOOOOOO!"
Palutena: "I'd rather not remember that."
Dark Pit: "No kidding..."
Viridi: "Dark Pit? When did you get here?"
And we're golden with this unsual group of Wario's friends and rival.
Stay tuned for the next round!
