Author's note: Okay gang, change of pace. And this was another reason I was taking so long to update.
I'll be choosing which Pokèmon movies I wanna do, and since Mewtwo strikes back I'm guessing takes place before the pokèmon league I'm going for it. But I'm separating the first movie events in two parts.
The chapter after next ought to be when the Indigo league begins. In the meantime, enjoy!
This story first begins with the birth of different sort of pokèmon, a clone.
Dr. Fuji, wanting to find a way to restore life by cloning, leads an expedition to Guyana after finding evidence of a shrine dedicated to Mew, the world's most powerful—but now said to be extinct—Pokémon. Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, funds Fuji's research in return for an enhanced, living replica of Mew. Finding a fossil of Mew, Fuji and his team create Mewtwo. Upon gaining consciousness, a confused Mewtwo asks itself who it is, what it is, and where it came from. Just then, Mewtwo fully wakes up in a stasis tube in one of Fuji's laboratories, where the scientists study it. Mewtwo breaks out of its test tube; Dr. Fuji tells Mewtwo that it was made by humans and is a clone of, but much more powerful than Mew. Mewtwo is angry that the scientists see it more as a result of their project and less of a sentient being, so it destroys the lab and kills all of the scientists. Dr. Fuji says to himself that he succeeded in creating the world's most powerful Pokémon before dying at the hands of Mewtwo. Then, Giovanni arrives in his private helicopter and offers to help Mewtwo focus its powers. Mewtwo takes up the offer and is put in a suit of armor.
Over the next few weeks, Mewtwo does most of Team Rocket's dirty work, capturing wild Pokémon and beating any Trainer that challenges the Viridian Gym, including Gary Oak. When Giovanni tells Mewtwo his own twisted way of controlling Pokémon, Mewtwo angrily blasts away, destroying its armor and the Team Rocket HQ, and vows from atop the island it was created on to begin its reign on Earth.
In the present day, our heroes were taking a short break from their Pokémon adventures.
As always, Ash and Laoise are determined to become Pokémon masters. And as always, they're ready to endure any hardship, bear any burden with strength, stamina, and wills of steel.
The four trainers were preparing for lunch until a Trainer named Raymond shows up and challenges Ash and Laoise to a two on one handicap match battle.
Ash called Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Pikachu, and Laoise with Tricky (Gengar), Ivy (Leafeon) and Queenie (female Nidoran).
And they easily beat Raymond.
But what none of them know is that they were being watched, not only by Team Rocket, but by a mysterious third party. From the top a ledge, Team Rocket watched hungrily as the trainers eat Brock's cooking.
Up above, its revealed that the mystery camera that's watching Ash and Laoise is attached to a Fearow, and the owner of the Fearow is watching them from his home.
Somewhere, where the owner of the Fearow dwells, a Dragonite is sent out to deliver the mentioned invitation to our heroes. Team Rocket notices something coming toward them, and then zoom past both them and our heroes. The Dragonite comes in for a landing.
Ash stood up, "Hey, watch where you're flying."
"Wait. A Dragonite? What are you doing here, big fella?" Laoise wondered.
The Dragonite gets out two envelopes for Ash and Laoise.
"Something for us?" Ash took his envelope.
Ash and Laoise open their envelopes and both have a hologram message for them, a message of a woman.
Misty stared, "Wow."
"Greetings, Pokémon trainers. I bear an invitation." the hologram of the woman greeted.
Brock gushed, "She's really small, but really pretty."
"You've been chosen to join a select group of Pokémon trainers at a special gathering. It will be hosted by my master, the world's greatest Pokémon trainer, at his palace on New Island." A map soon appeared that leads to New Island as the woman continued to speak. "A chartered faerie will leave from Old Shore Wharf to take you to the island this afternoon. Only trainers who present this invitation will be admitted. If you decide to attend, you must reply at once."
As the woman spoke, a card with the words yes and no fall out of Ash's invite, which Pikachu caught.
"My master awaits you." The message ended, and most our heroes are puzzled.
Brock asked, "Is there a rewind button?"
Laoise looked her invitation up and down. "Hmm, fishy. But maybe it's some eccentric millionaire who wants a private pokèmon competition."
Misty questioned, "Should we go?"
Brock agreed. "Of course we should! I've gotta meet her!"
"I guess the world's number one trainer wants to challenge me and Laoise to a match." Ash guessed.
"If he sends his Dragonite to deliver the message, how can we refuse?" Laoise shrugged.
Intrigued they agree and give the Dragonite their checkboxes and it flies away, but not without getting stopped by Team Rocket, curious as to what Ash and Laoise received.
Meanwhile, at the palace where the trainer looms, its revealed that the "trainer" is actually Mewtwo, who conjures up a storm around the palace with his powers. Down in the water, Mew is seen in a bubble and it awakens as it floats to the surface of the very habitat where the Mew fossil was found. Mew then flies off after escaping its bubble, while Mewtwo causes the storm to get stronger.
Soon enough, at Old Shore, our heroes are heading for shelter from the storm.
Inside, multiple trainers are at the Pokémon Center waiting for the ferry to arrive to take them to New Island as our heroes come in, soaking wet.
"I better call home." Laoise said, scanning the place for a videophone.
Misty said, "Togepi's totally soaked!"
Brock remarked. "I can't believe how fast the storm came up!"
Pikachu shook himself dry as the storm raged outside.
Soon enough, Laoise called the McGrady household, Dave and Hyacinth answered immediately. Behind them, Shae and Taryn were listening to the news report about the current storm.
"Yeah, we're all in the pokèmon center, and it's packed." Laoise said.
"I can see that. This storm took the meteorologists by surprise." Hyacinth was saying to her youngest.
"We are." Laoise replied, "We're hoping the storm will clear up so the ferry can take us to New Island."
"I dunno know about this but you all stick together, no telling what kind of..."
At that moment the connection was cut.
"Mom? Dad? Anyone?" Laoise tapped the receiver. "Nuts, the storm must've knocked out the line."
Later, the trainers are in a disappointed uproar, and three trainers at the forefront particularly.
The first was a dark haired boy in ginger track suit.
A teen girl with brown hair wearing a lilac t-shirt with white handles on the top of it. The shirt has a PokèBall necklace on it. She wears a pair of tan long pants with bright brown shoes.
And a stocky boy in a blue tank top.
Officer Jenny and the pier master are discussing the ordeal with the trainers. "It's more than just rain! The harbor manager thinks this could be the worst storm ever."
A woman with wavy blue hair stepped forward, "Listen to me! I am Miranda, the pier master here. And I advise you all against going out in this weather. The prophets have predicted the return of The Winds of Water. For years I have prayed, that mankind would never witness that deadly storm ever again."
Officer Jenny looked at her, "Isn't that just a legend?"
"The ancient writings tell of the storm wiping out all but a few Pokémon." Miranda said, "In their sorrow, the water of their tears somehow returned the lives lost in the storm. But there are no Pokémon tears today, just waters which no one can survive."
As Miranda talked, the four trainers tried to get a closer look.
"And that's why your ferry to New Island's been cancelled." Officer Jenny concluded.
The stocky boy stepped forward, "Well, I'm going to New Island anyway! All my Pokémon are water type! We'll just swim over to that palace!
Miranda replied, "I warn you, the waves will be savage. You'll never make it!"
Officer Jenny added. "Besides, if you tried that stunt and your Pokémon got hurt, you'll be out of luck because we've had to close down the Pokémon Center."
"How come?" Ash made his way forward.
"Because the nurse in charge of the center disappeared last month. And if any of you see her, please contact me at once. That's a picture of her over there on the wall."
Brock goes up to the poster. "She's cute." then blinked, "She sure looks familiar."
Outside the Center, the dark haired trainer flies away to New Island on his Pidgeot. The third trainer brought out his Gyarados to swim to New Island, and another used a Fearow as Officer Jenny and the pier master rushed to stop them.
Officer Jenny shouted after them, "Come back here! Or I'll place you under arrest!"
The second trainer jumped onto the back of her Dewgong and started swimming for New Island, but as Officer Jenny calls for them to stop, her hat blows off.
Miranda said calmly, "Some trainers have no fear. To them, this is one more challenge. They follow their hearts. That is what sets them apart, and will make them Pokémon masters."
The trainers are seen braving the storm to head to New Island.
"Good luck to all of you." Miranda murmured,
On the pier next to the one Officer Jenny and Miranda are standing on, our heroes prepare to try and get to New Island.
"The world's greatest Pokémon master is waiting for me and Liam. Let's use our Pokémon and get to that island." Ash declared.
Pikachu nodded, "Pika!"
Misty rebuked, "Ash, our Pokémon aren't strong enough. They can't handle giant waves like this!"
"I'd have switched out so we can ride Typhon to New Island, but the phone lines went out!" Laoise said.
"I guess you're right." Ash said.
Just then, Team Rocket, disguised as Vikings, gave the four a boat ride. Soon, a giant tidal wave comes up, causing everyone aboard the ship to panic. It looked like a twenty foot wall of water.
"We're gonna need a bigger boat." Laoise croaked.
Later, Team Rocket's disguise was uncovered. However, the storm proves too much for them, and as the strong wind and waves hit against the boat, it capsized and everyone fell into the ocean.
Thinking fast, Misty brought out her Staryu to save herself while Brock struggled for dear life. He's gets dragged down by another wave, but Misty brings him back up with Staryu.
Laoise soon came to the surface, holding on to her shiny Staryu, Idril.
Misty asked, "Have any of you seen Ash and Pikachu?"
Brock answered, "Not yet!"
Laoise looked around frantically, "I lost sight of him when the big wave fell over us!"
Another wave knocks them back under, where they see Ash swimming towards them on Squirtle, and they head back up to the surface.
The entire group battled against the waves, having to go underwater to get some bearings, but the water Pokémon surface when they see their human friends running out of air.
Soon, our heroes surfaced in calm water.
Laoise remembered something in science class that it's always calmest in the eye of a hurricane. But something about it felt off. Shouldn't the island be feeling the storm's side-effects right about now?
Pikachu soon spots something. "Pika!"
"Hey, look!" Ash saw what Pikachu saw.
Everyone noticed an island palace nearby lit by eerie lanterns.
"Is this New Island?" Laoise questioned.
"It has to be." Brock replied.
Up and over the clouds, Mew flies around as our heroes swim into the premises. They soon spot a dock where the woman from the hologram is seen waiting for them.
The woman greeted stoically. "My master bids you welcome to New Island. Will you kindly present your invitation?"
Ash pulled out his. "Here it is, Miss."
"And here's mine." Laoise held out hers.
The hologram messages simultaneously said, "The bearer of this invitation may be admitted to New Island."
Brock says that she looked familiar, however, the woman denies it and shows them to the castle.
"Please, come this way. My master awaits your arrival."
As our heroes followed the woman, Team Rocket came to the surface on Weezing. Outside and up in the sky, Mew is seen flying over the palace and has fun on one of the windmills.
Inside the underground passage leading into the palace, our heroes continue to follow the woman until they finally reach the entrance.
The doors opened and our heroes entered the palace.
The woman stopped and douses her lantern. "Now that you are here, all trainers worthy of an audience with my master are present."
Our heroes looked and see the three other trainers from the center there with all their Pokémon out.
Ash blinked. "There's only three of them."
"Aren't we gonna wait for the others?" Misty wondered.
"Okay so those who didn't have a flying Pokémon or a Pokémon that could swim couldn't get here, but why only those three?" Laoise inquired, scratching her head.
Surely, other trainers would've been able to make through the downpour.
The woman answered, "Only the trainers capable of braving the storm have proven themselves worthy in my master's eyes."
Brock asked, "Do you mean that storm was some kind of test?"
"Please release your Pokémon from their Pokéballs and join the others. It will not be long before my master's intentions are clear."
Meanwhile, as Team Rocket schemed to get inside the fortress, the Mythical Pokémon Mew senses something troubling and arrives at New Island, and followed closely behind Team Rocket.
So our heroes and their Pokémon meet the other trainers and their Pokémon.
The dark haired trainer said, "Name's Corey. And those two are Fergus and Neesha. Well, what took you guys so long?"
Ash asked, "How did you get here?"
Corey replied "I decided to fly here. It was easy. Hurricane wins are a breeze for Pidgeot, here."
"Oh my, he's amazing!" Laoise smiled at the large bird. This was what her Skyler would turn into once he evolved.
"Hey, guys! Say hello." Corey said to his pokèmon.
All of Corey's Pokémon, including Scyther, Hitmonlee, Sandslash, Rhyhorn and Venusaur, greeted our heroes.
"Awesome." Laoise grinned.
Our heroes hear more Pokémon saying hello, from the fountain there was a Seadra, Nidoqueen, Golduck, Tentacruel, Vaporeon, and Gyarados.
Fergus said proudly, "Those are my Pokémon! It was no problem getting through that storm! I rode over on Gyarados' back."
"Wowzers, you weren't kidding." Laoise complimented. "And that was pretty cool seeing you ride on your Gyarados."
Ash gaped, "Hey yeah. I heard it takes a lot of skill to train Gyarados."
Fergus agreed. "Yeah, but once you train it, it's the most dependable Pokémon there is."
"Boy, I know." Laoise smiled fondly, thinking of Typhon. It all still felt nothing short of phenomenal on how she'd managed to acquire a Gyarados of her own.
Neesha spoke up, "You haven't met my Pokémon. Over there."
Neesha's Wigglytuff joined her other Pokémon, including a Rapidash, Ninetales, Dewgong, Vileplume, and Blastoise in greeting our heroes.
"They're all great!" Laoise complimented with shining eyes. "Here's are some of mine. Come on out and say hello!"
Ivy the Leafeon, Goliath the Onix, Tricky the Gengar, Leafy her Oddish and Queenie the female Nidoran,
The lights soon go off, but a blue beam of light shines down from the top of a spiral staircase.
"You are about to meet my master. The time has come for your encounter with the greatest Pokémon master on Earth."
Some of the Pokémon braced for battle while Pikachu and Togepi go back to their trainers. Then through the beam of light, a figures descended.
"What's that?" Ash inquired.
Laoise squinted, "Something new, but it's hard to make out."
The figure is soon revealed to be Mewtwo.
A bipedal, humanoid Pokémon with some feline features. Its body is primarily gray with a long, purple tail and a large purple underbelly. On top of its head are two short, blunt horns, and it has purple eyes. A tube extends from the back of its skull to the top of its spine, bypassing its neck. It has a defined chest and shoulders, which resemble a breastplate. The three digits on each hand and foot have spherical tips. Its tail is thick at the base but thins before ending in a small bulb.
"Wow..." Laoise couldn't stop staring as did everyone else.
"Yes. The world's greatest Pokémon master is also the most powerful Pokémon on Earth. This is the ruler of New Island and, soon, the whole world. Mewtwo." The woman said.
"Mewtwo?" Ash stood in place.
Pikachu scowled suspiciously. "Pika."
"Excuse me, ruler of the whole world?!" Laoise made a face. She didn't like the sound of that one bit.
Fergus got to his feet, "A Pokémon can't be a Pokémon master! No way!"
Soon, Mewtwo started talking through his servant. "Quiet, human. From now on, I am the one that makes the rules."
Everyone was startled. Brock had his left hand to his ear, Ash gasped as did Pikachu.
Laoise jumped momentarily, for much like the others, she heard a voice. A deep, ominous and clearly male voice that spoke at the same time as the woman. That voice could only belong to Mewtwo, yet its mouth didn't move once.
Misty wondered, "How's it talking?"
"It's psychic!" Brock said.
Mewtwo proceeded to lift Fergus up via telekinesis, chuckled, and tossed him into pool where his Pokémon are.
Fergus surfaced unhurt, but wet and indignant. "We'll show you! Let's go, Gyarados!"
Gyarados and Fergus exited the water.
"Gyarados, Hyper Beam attack!"
Gyarados charged up and fired, but Mewtwo easily blocked and reflected the attack back at Gyarados, prompting Fergus to check on it.
"Gyarados!"
"Child's play." Mewtwo smiled then addressed his servant. "Your usefulness has ended."
Mewtwo released the woman from his control, who proceeded to faint, though Brock caught her, and it's revealed that she is none other than the missing Nurse Joy from the Pokémon Center.
She then awakened. "Where am I? And how in the world did I get here?"
Mewtwo responded, "You have been under my control. I transported you here from the Pokémon Center. Your knowledge of Pokémon physiology proved useful for my plan. And now I have cleansed your tiny human brain of memories from the past few weeks."
"Who are you?!" Brock snapped.
"I am the new ruler of this world. The Master of Humans and Pokémon alike."
Laoise folded her arms and shook her head, "Nice try. But I only bow to one guy, and you don't count."
Misty glared at Mewtwo, "You're just a bully!"
Pikachu agreed. "Pika!"
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the palace, Team Rocket continues to explore. They soon come to a room that has the same cloning machine from Mewtwo's creation, now rebuilt. And inside the tubes are three cloned Pokémon. Venasaurtwo, Charizardtwo, and Blastoisetwo.
Jessie then sat on the control panel, which activates a computer near the cloning machine.
"This is the Pokémon Replication System. System activated. Pokémon based on genetic analysis." A cold female voice spoke. "Pokémon DNA sampling sequence now in progress."
Then some mechanical arms grab Meowth from behind and put him on a conveyor belt, much to Team Rocket's fear and alarm.
The conveyor belt starts moving Meowth into the cloning machine, but Jessie and James dive in to save him.
Meowth yowled, "Help!"
James threw himself on the conveyor belt. "Meowth!"
"Grab him!" Jessie held on to Jame's leg.
One mechanical claw plucked some of the hair off of Meowth's tail, allowing Jessie and James to pull him out to safety.
Meowth examined his tail, "I made it, but just by a hair!"
A projection of Meowth's hair comes up on the wall, making them turn to look.
"Look! There's your hair." Jessie said.
The computer stated, "Analyzing Pokémon biomaterial sample. Analysis complete. Pokémon identified. Begin replication sequence."
Soon, a clone replica of Meowth enters one of the tubes, shocking Team Rocket. Unbeknownst to them, Mew watches the from behind. Next, on the monitor, the voice of the doctor who created Mewtwo is heard.
"I haven't got much time! I pray this record of our experiment survives. A year ago we discovered a fossil that proved to be the remains of the ancient Pokémon, Mew."
Team Rocket rushes to the monitor to watch and listen.
"There was sufficient material to replicate Mew, but Giovanni, who funded our project, insisted that we try to design super clones more powerful than any other living Pokémon. Many attempts failed, but finally our experiments proved successful. We produced a living Pokémon. We called it, Mewtwo. But for some reason, the creature's anger is out of control."
As the video and voice recording continue, Mew watched behind Team Rocket.
"With its psychic powers, it is destroying our laboratory! We dreamed of creating the world's strongest Pokémon, and we succeeded."
The video and audio recording end, leaving the bewildered Team Rocket to ponder who could have rebuilt the lab and cloning machine.
What did they get themselves into?
Mewtwo continues talking to our heroes and the other trainers. "You humans are a dangerous species. You brought me into your world with no purpose but to be your slave. But now I have my own purpose. My storm will create my own world, by destroying yours."
Brock glowered. "So, you hate all humans, and you're going to destroy us to save Pokémon."
Mewtwo shook his head. "No. Your Pokémon will not be spared. They have disgraced themselves by serving humans. Those Pokémon are nothing but slaves."
Pikachu hopped down from Ash's shoulder. "Pika! Pika Pika!"
Mewtwo looked down on him, "So, you say I am wrong? That you are not this human's servant? You are his friend?"
Pikachu nodded. "Pika."
"You are as pathetic as the rest." Mewtwo uses Psychic to lift Pikachu up and throws him, though Ash saves him from hitting the ground.
Misty, Squirtle and Bulbasaur go and check on Ash and Pikachu.
Ash sat up and scowled at Mewtwo, "Don't pick on Pikachu."
Laoise took angry steps towards Mewtwo, "For your big fat information, my pokèmon are part of MY family, and you don't hurt family!"
"Such childish words. Humans and Pokémon can never be friends. Let alone family."
Mewtwo uses Psychic once again to lift Laoise and tossed her across the floor, which prompt her Pokémon to help her.
"You are not the first human foolish enough to face me, but we're not in a gym. "
"What gym?"
Mewtwo smirked. "I was the Pokémon that worked under the gym leader, Giovanni."
"The mysterious pokèmon Gary saw... " Laoise mumbled at first, then it hit her, "This is the same pokèmon from the Viridian gym!"
Everyone was shocked when Laoise reached the conclusion. Corey then attempted to catch Mewtwo with his Rhyhorn but failed. Goliath and Tricky tried teaming up but they too were unsuccessful, leaving Laoise to check on them.
"Fools. Your Pokémon attacks cannot weaken me. My powers are too great. No trainer can conquer me." Mewtwo stated.
Ash growled, "Then you won't mind proving it in a real match!"
Mewtwo smirked, "Is that a challenge?"
"You bet it is!"
Summoned by Mewtwo, the cloned Pokémon awaken and exit to their Team Rocket's shock and fright and Mew's curiosity. Mewtwo lead everyone into the stadium part of the fortress.
The clones then rose out of the floor where Mewtwo is.
"Like most Pokémon trainers, I, too, began with Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. But for their evolved forms, I used their genetic material to clone even more powerful copies."
Neesha gaped, "Copies?!"
Corey stared, "They're clones!"
Everyone's hearing is then tuned to a strange sound. Then, the window behind the staircase reveals a stadium, all set and ready for the battle.
"A stadium! Mewtwo planned this all along!" Brock gasped.
Laoise said, "Well, if he has three Pokémon, then its fair for three trainers to take him on one at a time."
Corey said, "Your fake Venusaur can't beat my real one! Right, Bruteroot?"
Bruteroot agreed.
Neesha declared, "We'll blow away that fake Blastoise, won't we, Shellshocker?"
Shellshocker confirmed
Ash took out a Pokéball. "It may not have a nickname, but I do have Charizard."
Charizard never wants to battle any Pokémon that's weaker than him, but surely this was one of the rare times Ash's Charizard will gladly fight.
"I choose you!" Ash let out Charizard.
Charizard materialized, spots Mewtwo, and launched a Flamethrower at it, but Mewtwo shields himself.
Ash scolded, "Charizard! I didn't say "start"."
Mewtwo proceeds to make a small cyclone of water rise from the water around him to put out the flame. "Your Charizard is poorly trained."
Charizard shot a small fireball, angry at the comment, but Ash stood determined. Soon, the battle was under way to begin.
But for all their bravery, Corey's Venusaur, and Neesha's Blastoise were no match for Mewtwo's clones.
"You better forfeit, Ash! Those clones are too powerful!"
"I'm not giving up." Ash said sternly.
Mewtwo motioned for Charizardtwo to take the field.
Ash said, "Charizard, use your speed, not power, and you'll win!"
Charizard roared, ready for battle.
"Alright, go!"
Charizard took flight and launched a Flamethrower, but Charizardtwo dodges. The two launch Flamethrower after Flamethrower and even a couple of punches, headbutts, and tail swipes while in the sky, but Charizardtwo proves to be more powerful. The two flew higher and higher until they're over the eye of the hurricane, until Charizardtwo grabs Charizard from behind and starts bringing it down fast.
"Charizard's in trouble!" Ash yelped.
Mewtwo ordered. "Finish it."
Charizardtwo brought Charizard down onto solid ground the hard way, and though it tries to keep going, it falls to the ground, defeated as Ash goes to check on it.
"Charizard, no! Are you okay?"
Laoise was shocked and worried. This was way more serious than she thought. If none of the evolved pokèmon could stop Mewtwo or the clones, then what will it take?
"As the victor, I now claim my prize! Your Pokémon!" Mewtwo then made three strange Pokéballs appear and sends them toward the defeated Pokémon.
"WHAT?!"
One of those Pokéballs captured Charizard.
Ash protested. "Hey, wait!"
Shellshocker is captured as well, along with Bruteroot.
Misty demanded, "What are you gonna do with those Pokémon?!"
"What are those things?!" Laoise glowered.
Mewtwo replied, "They are called Clone Balls. I will extract their DNA to make clones for myself." He made more Clone Balls appear. "They will remain safe on this island with me, while my storm destroys the planet."
Brock growled, "You can't do this!"
Ash stood up. "Yeah, Mewtwo! We won't let you!"
"Do not attempt to defy me." Mewtwo uses his powers to send Ash flying into Brock and knocked them both back.
"This is MY world, now." Mewtwo then sent the Clone Balls after the Pokémon that were still out of their Pokéballs.
Everyone ran for it, but the Clone Balls quickly catch up and capture Fergus' Gyarados.
Fergus cried, "Gyarados!"
Two more Clone Balls capture Golduck and Seadra, while another captures Corey's Sandslash.
Corey tried batting the clone balls away, "Get away!"
But while Corey, Scyther, and Hitmonlee fight off as many Clone Balls as they can, but ultimately Hitmonlee is captured, along with Scyther. Then, Neesha's Dewgong is captured, followed by her Rapidash and Vileplume. Bulbasaur and Squirtle keep fighting off as many as they could, while Pikachu runs for it, but the next Pokémon to be caught is Wigglytuff, followed by Pidgeot. Soon, the captured Pokémon are sent down into some tunnels.
Ash then said, "Hey! I know! Mewtwo can't capture them if they're already inside their Pokéballs! Bulbasaur, Squirtle, return!"
The two returned to their Pokéballs just in time.
"It is no use." Mewtwo said coolly.
Suddenly, two Clone Balls captured the Pokéballs that Bulbasaur and Squirtle are in.
"It is futile to try and escape my power."
"Never mind the Pokéballs, carry them away!" Brock said, picking up Vulpix.
However, after Togepi is put into Misty's bag, a Clone Ball captures Psyduck.
"Give back my Psyduck!" Misty shouted.
Another Clone Ball captures Vulpix.
"Vulpix!" Brock wailed.
"No, no! I won't let you take any of them!" Laoise shrieked. She quickly started recalling her pokèmon, then placing the pokèballs into her backpack and holding the bag close in her arms protectively.
"Hiding away will not delay the inevitable." Mewtwo sneered.
Laoise is picked up by Mewtwo's telekinesis ten feet into the air then dropped onto her side, making her pokèballs spill out. As a result, the clone balls catch those with her pokémon.
"No!" Laoise wailed, getting up and trying to grab them. "Give them back!"
Meanwhile, Pikachu was running from the Clone Balls, with Ash shielding him from a barrage of them, allowing Pikachu to escape.
Ash shouted, "Run, Pikachu!"
To be continued…
