Chp. 16: Newfound Power
"Looks like we had just interrupted a date between these two here," Mina said.
"What do you want?" Siavash asked.
"We were about to continue searching for more magic artifacts, but we found you two here," Khaki answered.
"And since you guys seem to be getting into our way a lot, and it's just the two of you, we think getting rid of you now will rid us of a couple of obstacles," Marton added.
"Time to die now," Mina said as she pulled out her shotgun axe shoots at the two targets.
Siavash and Amethyst dodged away in opposite directions to avoid the shots as Team SMMK charged towards them. Sil and Mina rushed in and swung their weapons at Siavash as he rolled forwards dodging their attacks and now behind them. Siavash draws out Simorgh Wings and just as Sil and Mina turned around, Siavash swung his sword at the two, knocking them back. With his semblance, he summons a gorilla which charges over at Sil. As the leader of Team SMMK got up, the summon grabs Sil by the leg before throwing him up in the air. Siavash ran up the gorilla's back and jumping up at Sil while extending his sword into his whip. He then wraps it around Sil's waist before hurling him into a tree.
As Siavash lands back down to the ground, Mina fires a shot at his back, knocking him to the ground. The gorilla summons charges at the spider Faunus, but as it reaches her, Mina quickly decapitates it, making it disappear. Siavash quickly gets up and transforms Simorgh Wings into his duel guns and starts shooting at Mina. She was struck in the right shoulder and left hip before jumping behind a boulder for cover.
"Come on! Is that all you got?!" Siavash taunted.
Suddenly, the area around him was shrouded in darkness. He looked around for a moment and saw the silhouette of Sil approaching him as his semblance affected the area around them.
Meanwhile in a different part of the park, Atar and Arslan are walking through the park continuing with their date. It was interrupted when the sounds of gunfire was heard in the far distance, making them stop and on alert.
"What was that?" Arslan asked.
"I don't know. But that doesn't sound good," Atar answered.
The two then started to run over to where the gunfire was coming from.
Amethyst shoots a blast of fire at Khaki from Hurricane as she runs away from that attack. She then shot a blast of wind at the rogue Huntress, sending her flying into a tree. Marton raised his hand at Amethyst as she aimed her weapon at him. His semblance took effect as the Dust in her broomstick was not working. Marton charged over at Amethyst and swung his club at her, knocking her to the ground. Marton swung his club down at Amethyst as she rolled away from the attack. She quickly got herself back up as she took off her hat and swung it at Marton, slashing him in the chest, before swinging her broomstick at his head, knocking him to the ground.
A bullet struck Amethyst in the back of her shoulder as she turned around to see Khaki charging towards her, while shooting at her with her pistol. Amethyst deflected the shots away with the blade onto her hat before throwing it at her. Khaki transformed her pistol into her sword and then quickly deflected the attack away as she continued to advance on Amethyst. Khaki swung her sword at Amethyst as she ducked down from the attack before swinging Hurricane upwards, striking the rogue Huntress in the jaw before kicking her in the face, knocking her to the ground.
As Amethyst was about to go get her hat, Marton charged up at her and swung his club at her, sending her flying several feet behind some shrubs. As Amethyst was trying to get up, she looks up to see a strange concealed in a black cloak. His hood covered his head and was wearing a white mask with red linings and a black breathing vent. on his neck was an electrical device with a small green light on it.
"Who are you?" Amethyst asked.
Something then drops out from the stranger's cloak and lands in front of Amethyst. It appeared to be a brown stick with a black handle.
"Take it," the stranger said with a slight robotic tone.
Amethyst grabs the stick and examines it for a moment before looking back up at the stranger again.
"Is this a wand?" Amethyst asked. "And again, who are you?"
"Someone that will give you the power to protect the people," the stranger answered as he turned around. "And remember to not make any mention of me. And do not reveal the artifact to anyone. If your friends find it, just say you had stolen it from your assailants. This secret between us will keep your friends protected. We shall meet again soon."
The stranger then walks away behind some more shrubs and disappears out of sight. Amethyst stood himself back up and with the artifact in her hand. She heard the sounds of wrestling coming from the shrubs behind her and sees Marton and Khaki stepping out of the shrubs.
"Gotcha now!" Marton said with a smirk.
Amethyst points the wand at the rogue Huntsman and Huntress. Her hand holding the wand started to glow as well as the wand as the wand then shot a small blast of magic at Marton's club, knocking it out of his hand. She looked on in surprise and glanced down at the wand and gave out a smirk.
"She's got an artifact!" Khaki shouted as she folded her sword into her pistol and pointed it at Amethyst.
"Expelliarmus!" Amethyst shouted as she shot another small blast of magic at Khaki's pistol, knocking it out of her hand.
Marton and Khaki looked on in shock and anger as Amethyst let out a giggle.
"I said that for dramatic effect and fun," she said.
Marton and Khaki quickly picked up their weapons as Amethyst got into a stance and prepared for their attack.
Siavash was on his hands and knees panting in exhaustion as Sil and Mina stood before him.
"You kids should have stayed out of our business," Sil said, flicking his hair away from his face.
Mina aimed her shotgun axe at Siavash's head, and just as she was about to pull the trigger, a dagger with an attached rope wrapped around her weapon was pulled out of her hands. Sil and Mina turned their heads to see Atar and Arslan with their weapons at readyand the latter holding Mina's weapon.
"You guys again?" Atar asked.
"Atar, do you know these people?" Arslan asked.
"Great. More annoyances," Mina said as she shot a webbing at her shotgun axe with her semblance and stole her weapon back from Arslan.
After taking back her weapon, Mina, alongside Sil began shooting at Atar and Arslan as they ran away from their shots. As this was going on, Siavash started to get back up onto his feet. He pulled out his weapon and rushed over towards Sil. He slashed at Sil's back, making him cry out in pain before turning around and swung his hatchet pistols at his opponent. Siavash stepped away from the attack as the two began to trade blows with each other, parrying and dodging each other's attacks.
Atar swung Belize at Mina as she parried away his attacks. Arslan ran up to Mina from behind and lunged her dagger at her. Mina quickly kicks Atar away before turning around and blocks her attack with her shotgun axe. She swung her weapon at Arslan as she backed away from the attack. Mina swings her shotgun axe at Arslan again as she parries away the attack. Before the spider Faunus could attack again, Atar with the aid of his semblance, grabs on to her waist and slams her to the ground creating a small crater in the process.
Mina quickly gets up and fires a shot at Atar's face, sending him flying into a tree. Arslan rushes towards Mina to attack, but the rogue Huntress swung her shotgun axe at her and knocked her into a bench, smashing it in the process.
Before Mina could do anything else, Marton shot out from some shrubs and crashed right in front of her feet. She turned her head to see Khaki backing out of the shrubs followed by Amethyst who was swinging her broomstick and hat at Khaki as she parried off her attacks. Marton gets back up to her feet and notices Atar and Arslan approaching him and Mina. Khaki backed herself next to her teammates as Amethyst closed in.
Sil swung his hatchet pistol at Siavash as he weaved away from his attacks. Siavash swung his sword at Sil before Team SMMK's leader kicked him in the stomach, knocking him back several feet and depleting his Aura.
"Aim your hand at your foe," the voice within Siavash's head spoke.
"You again? And what do you mean by that?" Siavash asked the voice in his head. "I don't have the gauntlets on me!"
"What the heck are you talking about?" Sil asked as he slowly approached.
"Trust me, boy," the voice spoke.
Just as Sil was about to shoot at his downed opponent, Siavash raised his hand out at Sil as a blast of magic suddenly shot out of his hand and struck Sil in the chest sending him flying into the rest of his team who were bunched up together and were about to attack Amethyst, Atar, and Arslan. The three students turned their heads back at Siavash in shock at what he had just done.
"How did you do that?" Arslan asked. "I thought your semblance allows you to summon animals."
"I was about to ask the same thing," Atar said.
The members of Team SMMK all go up as they glared at the four Haven students.
"We'll be back," Sil said, angrily brushing his hair away.
Marton swung his club around as smoke came out of it and engulfed the entire team. After a moment, the smoke disappeared and Team SMMK was nowhere in sight. Siavash ran over toward Amethyst, Atar, and Arslan.
"Everyone alright?" he asked.
Yeah. Good thing Arslan and I showed up just in time," Atar answered.
"Can someone tell me what is going on here? Who were those people? Why were they after you? And what was that Siavash did?" Arslan asked.
"Head back to your school. I'll reveal everything about myself to you and your teachers, and friends," the voice in Siavash's head spoke.
Siavash stood in thought for a moment before looking over at Atar.
"We've got to tell her. She saw too much already," Atar said.
"Fine," Siavash said before turning to Arslan. "Let's get back to Haven and meet with the others first. We'll tell you then."
"I hope this doesn't lead my team into trouble. Because whatever all that was seems serious," Arslan said.
"You have no idea," Amethyst said.
