A/N: Hi. just wanted to let you all know, this is gonna take a very long time to update. I want to have most of the fic ready before I start uploading regularly, but I also need a bit of pressure to keep going, so that's why you're reading this now. I want you to keep in mind this chapter is very likely to have slight changes in the future, but I will let you know if that happens.
The usual disclaimer applies. Hope you enjoy.
Amy's teary eyes darted around the room nervously, her heart in her throat as familiar faces looked expectantly at her. The hand holding her glass was shaking so bad, she feared she was going to drop the liquid and make a mess. The least thing she wanted to do was screw this up. She looked down and closed her eyes , letting out a heavy sight, she felt a reassuring hand on her shoulder, instantly helping her calm down. She looked back up "I guess I should start from the beginning…" She half smiled with a wobbly voice.
Amelia was out with her friends, it was the celebration of the end of their first year of residency. They were at a club, picked by a friend of a friend. Numerous people from the hospital were meeting there to have some fun. She was sitting on her boyfriend's lap, having a good time when she heard an all too familiar laugh, making her roll her eyes before she turned around to confirm it was, in fact, who she thought.
Arizona Robbins. Amelia hated her guts. She met her since her first day at John's Hopkins when she saw the perky blonde skate her way through the hospital in a pair of heelys, which she found endearing at first. Amelia learned early on, thanks to hospital gossip, that Dr. Robbins had a reputation; she was kind of a legend between the hospital halls, but it wasn't only because of her peculiar habit to roller skate at work. She was at the top of her class, good with patients, amazing with kids, perky personality, hot as hell. The woman had it all, but she was mostly known for her exceptionally active sex life. Women talked about sleeping with Arizona with the same excitement Amelia would talk if she passed her boards, which she found absurd. Why would girls be excited to be one more to the list? She couldn't be that good. It annoyed her. Yes, Amelia had to admit the blonde was definitely hot and so very pretty, all the nice things people said about her were true... But she was also kind of a bitch. However, if someone asked her why she hated her so much, she wouldn't be able to give a concrete answer.
She could say it started with a scenario similar to the one they were now. Amelia was out with friends, Arizona was there and she quickly started getting frisky with Amelia's then roommate, until they ultimately left together. The next two weeks the name 'Arizona' was all she would hear, as her friend yapped about the blonde non stop. Amelia's entire body tensed every time she had to hear the sex adventures of the girl. Thankfully, it was short lived, since the day the two week mark arrived, she came home to a crying mess. Megan had been dumped. It broke her heart to see her friend like that, but she should've seen it coming from a mile away. The blonde had a womanizer reputation for a reason, so she couldn't really blame her, but again, Megan was her friend. She had to be mad for her.
Although Arizona and Amelia had never properly spoken to each other aside from work, she could tell the sentiment was reciprocated. The blonde would always look at her with annoyance written all over her face and Amelia didn't know why, but it only fueled her hatred for the woman.
Amelia turned to see the blonde arriving at the place, she was wearing navy blue shorts that could easily get mistaken for a miniskirt and a black double breasted wrap coat that was styled in a way you could see the outline of a black top with a generous cleavage. Her wavy hair was up in a half ponytail and just two strands of her overgrown curtain bangs fell on her face. She walked in as she owned the place, the girls she had arrived with looked plain next to her, but were oblivious to their misfortune, or rather used to it, as they marched through the club deep in conversation with the blonde. Arizona stopped at Amelia's table to say hi to one of her friends, Amelia looked away from her, and rested her hands on either side of Colin's face, forcing him to look at her as she pulled him into a kiss. She slipped her tongue in her boyfriend's mouth as she heard the blonde making small talk with her table.
They made out for a couple of seconds until a laugh shared by the group erupted, making them both break apart to turn around; in the process of doing so, Amelia failed to notice the blonde standing right beside her, she unintentionally bumped her arm with the woman, making her purse fall open to the ground.
"Fuck, sorry" Amelia said, genuinely. The blonde was quick to bend over to collect her items, allowing Amelia to take a good look at her well toned legs.
"Thanks for the help" Arizona said sarcastically, regaining her composure once her purse was closed in her hands again. Amelia failed to take her eyes off her legs before the blonde noticed. "A picture would last longer" She mocked her with a smirk before turning on her heels, resuming her stroll through the place, leaving Amelia's table laughing at her for the remark.
"Bitch" She muttered under her breath.
As the night went along, Amelia lost count of her drinks, she was now straddling her boyfriend as they made out, he had a strong grip on her ass with one hand, and carried his recently refilled glass of beer with the other. As he placed sloppy kisses on her neck, he spilled some of the brownish liquid on her jacket "Damn it, Colin!" She pulled away in annoyance "I have to go wash this" she said as she made her way to the bathroom. She opened the door to find no other than Arizona Robbins sitting on the edge of the restroom's sink, a redhead stood in between her legs as they kissed passionately. Amelia noticed the absence of the blonde's coat, her strapless corset top now coming in full view. "Fantastic" She whispered angrily to herself. She took a step towards one of the sinks, as the girl kissing Arizona started massaging the blonde's upper thighs and kissing her neck, earning a loud moan from the woman, making her open her eyes, her stare landed on Amelia as another moan left her lips.
Amelia swallowed hard, in an attempt to keep her composure. Trying hard to convince herself that the wet spot quickly forming on her panties was probably due to her make out session with her boyfriend, not at all related to the sight before her eyes or to the fact that she wondered how it would feel to be in the girl's place, being the one causing Arizona to make those sounds. The five seconds she stared at those gleaming blue eyes, seemed like an eternity. The redhead finally noticed her standing there and yanked herself away from Arizona, her cheeks turning bright red as she looked at Amelia "We should go somewhere more private" She suggested, taking Arizona's hand in hers to help her hop off the sink. The blonde flashed a dimpled smile at her companion and walked past Amelia on their way out, once the redhead crossed the door, Arizona stepped closer to whisper on Amelia's ear "As I said before, a picture would last longer, you just need to ask" she teased, leaving the restroom.
The intention of washing her jacket long lost on her as she swiftly made her way back to her table. She stood in front of Colin and pulled him by the collar of his shirt, capturing his lips in a hungry kiss "Let's go home" She said between kisses "I want you to fuck me"
Amelia's first day of her second year of residency started at 3am. A bus crashed on the highway, causing a pileup. Although they had paged everyone in, they didn't know if they had enough personnel for all the people coming in. The ER was chaos, the screaming of patients and desperate cries from family members could be heard all around. Doctors yelling instructions and soliciting stuff added a little to the craziness of it all. Much to Amelia's misfortune, she was on Doctor Norman McCale's service that day, which could only mean one thing: She would be working with Arizona.
Doctor McCale was the head of pediatric surgery, one of the best doctors in the country and also, very fond of Arizona Robbins, to the point of being on a first-name basis with the blonde. McCale would allow her to explore and grow in different departments, but he would always keep her at arms length, especially after the blue eyed doctor decided she'll go for pediatric surgery.
The blonde was already standing next to the older man when Amelia arrived "Nice of you to show up, Doctor!" He greeted her half joking and Amelia mouthed an apology, offering a genuine smile. He was a nice man, plus a great teacher. Amelia liked to work with him every once in a while.
They were in the OR, operating on a teen who had been directly affected by the crash; he had more than a couple of broken bones and a collapsed lung. Doctor McCale and the head of Ortho, Doctor Moore, had been deep in conversation during most of the process, occasionally instructing the residents on how to assist.
"I have something to say" McCale spoke a couple of hours into the surgery. He briefly looked at his blonde resident, then back at doctor Moore, his hands remained steady into the patient "We didn't have the chance to announce it properly today, but I'm proud to say Doctor Robbins here has been elected Chief resident" He declared proudly.
It was clear he had already told Arizona, but she still looked excited to hear it out loud, her wide grin was evident even if it was covered with her mask, her eyes beaming with happiness when everyone in the OR started congratulating her. Amelia remained silent, focused on the hands of the doctors operating.
The surgery went smoothly, their patient would hopefully be on his way to recovery in no time. McCale proposed to go for drinks the next day to celebrate the successful surgery and Arizona's new title. Amelia nodded in agreement, but she knew she wouldn't go as she spent every night with her boyfriend, who would have zero interest in hanging out with the older man.
Amelia dragged herself to the locker room to gather her things, the mayhem of the day finally getting to her. Besides their 6 hour surgery, they also had to assist with a couple more patients. She hadn't had a break since she arrived at the hospital and was now famished and exhausted. She opened the door and quickly took notice of the only person in the room. Arizona sat on the bench in front of her locker. It looked like she had been in the middle of changing, just wearing her scrub pants and a sports bra; her back slouched and her head between her hands. Amelia's locker was opposite to Arizona's, so she could only see her back, but she figured the blonde was sleeping by the way her entire body moved with her breathing. She cleared her throat and bit her lip to hold her laugh when Arizona jolted awake.
Arizona grabbed a shirt from her locker and continued dressing. Amelia felt the silence of the room grow louder as she changed her outfit herself, she remembered Doctor McCale telling them earlier about the blonde being chief resident and she felt the urge to congratulate her. She looked back, just as Arizona finished pulling up her jeans "Hey, I wanted to say tha-"
"I don't want you to go out with us" Arizona interrupted her, turning to look at the brunette. Her eyes were serious, her lips formed a straight line "I know Norman invited everyone, but I really don't think you should go. They're celebrating me after all. I get to choose who I want there" She finished with a small nod of her head, making sure she understood.
Amelia's face turned into a frown. Had she heard correctly? Was this girl really telling her not to go? "Excuse me?" She crossed her arms "Who the hell do you think you are to tell me where I can and can't go?"
Arizona put on her flat shoes on and hung her purse on her shoulder, she turned to look at the angry woman in front of her and shrugged as she made her way to the door "Just don't go"
"Fuck you!" Amelia screamed angrily after the blonde as she crossed the door. She wasn't planning to go before, but the girl she despised had just told her she didn't want her there? Oh she was going now.
She had spent the night at Colin's. When Amelia wasn't at work, she was out drinking with her boyfriend or staying at either of their crowded apartments, locked in their rooms having sex. It was 4:38am when Colin's pager woke her up. The dark haired man was a resident too, but he worked at a clinic adjacent to the hospital, so they would rarely cross paths in the halls. He sat up with a groan and made his way to the shower; Amelia's shift started at 6 o'clock so she decided to get up, joining the man in the shower.
Once Colin was gone, she went to the kitchen to make herself some breakfast. One serving of scrambled eggs later, she was in a hurry. She stumbled with her chair and a half empty bottle of beer previously sitting at the table fell to the floor. Droplets of liquid flew into Amelia's direction and she silently cursed her boyfriend's roommates for leaving the drink there. She didn't have time to change so she left like that.
She was late again and her appearance didn't help. She was received by an angry looking Arizona, giving directions to their fellow residents who were gathered around her.
"You two are with Davidson in cardio" she said, signaling a short girl and the redhead from the bar, she looked down at her notes again then pointed at someone else "You're with Parsons in Plastics… Johnson, Lawrence and Evans, you're with Walsh in Trauma" She glanced up, making sure everyone was listening, then back at her notes "Roberts, you're with Moore in Ortho" she made eye contact with Amelia "Shepherd, you're with me and Doctor McCale" she finished with a stern look.
Amelia couldn't help but feel nervous by the intensity of the blonde's stare. As everyone started to walk away to their respective areas, the brunette walked a couple of steps towards Arizona who clenched her jaw as she stood closer "You can't show up here looking like that" She started, folding her arms on her chest as she looked at her up and down "We are doctors, it's extremely unprofessional that you come here wearing dirty clothes and your hair like that" She stepped closer so no one else could hear "Plus, you smell like beer. Come here looking like that again and I'll have to report you" She muttered, stepping back.
"Yeah, no. I smell like that because this morning I was-"
Arizona cut her off "I really don't care. Just go change and don't show up like that again"
Amelia couldn't help but feel ashamed. She was aware people knew about her drinking problem, she had gotten in trouble before because of it, but she had been doing better since then. She would still drink almost every night, but she drank the right amount so it wouldn't affect her job. She was aware of the responsibility she carried on her shoulders being a surgeon and wasn't reckless enough to put a patient's life at risk. But she still felt embarrassed that Arizona thought she had been drinking and she couldn't blame her. She reeked of alcohol and her clothes were still damp, plus, she hadn't had the opportunity to brush her hair so she did, in fact, look very unprofessional.
It was a rather uneventful day… But just for Amelia. After being scolded by Arizona in the hall, she fixed her appearance and went to work, but Arizona was on her neck the whole time, hindering her from doing anything significant, quickly volunteering herself and brushing Amelia off to the side for every procedure. She knew the blonde was doing it because she thought she was drunk, but that didn't make it any less annoying. She wasn't drunk. She wanted to scream at the blonde, tell her to fuck off, but she knew she would end up on the wrong side of things if she did. Instead, she kept her composure, knowing she was gonna get blasted later when they went out to celebrate, after all, she had the next day off.
McCale popped his head into the resident's locker room on his way out "Don't forget, we're meeting at the bar at 8!" He reminded them, earning a cheer by the packed room. Amelia had a couple of hours to go home, clean herself up and talk Colin into going with her, so that's what she did.
It didn't take long to convince her boyfriend to go with her after she mentioned her plan to drink until she blacked out. They arrived at the place half an hour earlier and started the night with a round of shots. It wasn't too long until they started to notice familiar faces mingling here and there. It took less than an hour for the place to be full with hospital staff. Doctor McCale sat at a table entertaining a bunch of interns with stories of his early days in med school, they seemed to be enjoying it and Amelia smiled at the sight from her seat at the bar, she wasn't drunk yet, just a tad dizzy. Her boyfriend, on the other hand… He enjoyed drinking just as much as she did, but he was really bad at holding his alcohol.
Just as a round of shots was being served in front of her, she heard voices get louder at the entrance and looked up to see a girl being embraced by a guy, her back was turned to her, but she recognized those wavy golden locks instantly. The woman finally turned around, greeting the rest of her friends with a mixture of hugs and kisses as she made her way to doctor McCale, who stopped mid sentence to stand up and greet his favorite resident. The brunette couldn't hear what they were saying from her seat at the bar, but the unusual pair of friends seemed genuinely happy to see each other. Amelia didn't fail to notice when a dark haired girl entered the place in a hurry, she stood behind Arizona and rested her chin on her shoulder as she embraced her from behind. The blonde turned around to greet her with a peck on the lips and Amelia's eyes lingered on their hands as they intertwined their fingers. She looked back at the tiny glass in front of her and downed the liquid in one go, an almost silent groan escaping her lips when she felt the burning sensation on her throat. She gestured to the bartender for another round.
Arizona made her way to the bar, the dark haired girl walked behind her. Colin turned around, following his girlfriend's gaze "Hey, Arizona!" He greeted the blonde, his voice louder than it needed to be. He tried to put his hand on Arizona's arm and Amelia noticed the way she quickly took a step back, away from his reach "Heard you were selected as chief resident, that's pretty cool" He dragged his words, sounding nothing less than wasted.
"Cody, hi" she replied, her voice cold.
"Colin" He corrected, annoyed by the mistake and Amelia tried her best to suppress a laugh.
"Right" she said, clearly not giving a fuck about his name. She looked at his glass and furrowed her brows, disgust written all over her face as she took in his appearance "You should dial it back with the alcohol" she glanced at Amelia and the brunette quickly averted her eyes. Arizona turned back to Colin "You have work tomorrow" she reminded him and finally turned around to order her drink.
Amelia couldn't help herself, she spent her night stealing glances at the blonde, a gut wrenching feeling taking over her entire body every time she saw Arizona throw her head back, laughing at something her companion had said. She seemed happy to just be there and Amelia hated it, what was it with her dating so many girls? And why were so many girls so okay with dating this woman even when everyone was very aware of her reputation. Idiots. Amelia thought, these girls couldn't be that smart.
The alcohol traveled fast through her body being this her third time stumbling to the bathroom to go pee. She could barely walk properly and the bartender had told her he wouldn't be serving them anymore, she waved her hand at him in dismissal as she made her way to the restroom. Once done, Amelia opened the door of her stall, only to find Arizona leaning against the closed lady's room door. The blonde watched her, a furious expression all over her face as Amelia walked to the sink.
"What?" Amelia asked, annoyed. She looked back at the blonde and got nothing in response but a glare. She rolled her eyes and tried to push her off the door to get out, but Arizona stood still, never breaking eye contact. "Get the fuck off!" She commanded angrily, trying to push her once again and falling to the floor mid attempt.
Arizona looked down at her and shook her head. She grabbed Amelia's arm firmly, nudging her gently to make her pay attention to her words "I told you not to come, didn't I?" She hissed.
Amelia made an unsuccessful attempt to shake Arizona's hand off her arm "And who the hell do you think you are to boss me around?"
"This is incredibly irresponsible, Amelia. You are a doctor! You have patients, you have a responsibility" Arizona finally pulled her up, they were standing face to face and Amelia was able to see a vein pumping right over the blonde's right eyebrow as she scolded her. Her eyes traveled all over her face, taking in her flushed cheeks, her gloss covered lips, her big, blue eyes. She felt slightly nervous to have her stern look digging her soul in such short distance "... and everyone knows. You should be an example to them. They should look up to you" Amelia looked at her in confusion. She had been so lost taking in the details of her face, that she hadn't paid attention to a word she said. Arizona closed her eyes and exhaled, pinching the bridge of her nose with two fingers "I really don't want to report you, but you keep acting like this and I'm afraid you might be a danger to your patients"
Amelia watched as the blonde finally opened the door and walked out of the room. She wanted to be mad but there was a lingering scent of strawberries and it took over her thoughts. She rested her hand on the door to get some support as she tried to figure out where the smell had been coming from. Was it her lip gloss? Was it her shampoo? Her perfume? Did she just smell like that? She swallowed hard, it was time for her to go home.
Next day Amelia woke up in her underwear, laying carelessly over the covers. The smell of vomit hit her nostrils the moment she woke up, making her open her eyes instantly, she looked at the bucket placed beside her bed, full with the consequences of the night before. Her head was throbbing like crazy and she was grateful to have a new roommate as thoughtful as Lily, who she was sure was responsible for placing the can there and leaving the curtains down so she wouldn't be disrupted by the sunlight. 3:40 pm shone bright on her nightstand's clock and she let out a groan. When she was able to sit up, she took two aspirins from her drawer and made her way to the bathroom to empty the bucket and take a shower.
She felt exhausted, she closed her eyes and stood there, flashes of her night were coming back to her as the hot stream of water soaked her body, hindering her from noticing the tears rolling down her cheeks. She was tired of feeling ashamed after a night out drinking, she hated that she no longer had the ability to control herself, to have just one glass; it was always one after another and another and another until she blacked out, waking up confused and alone. She'd pretend everything was okay only because she had no one to lean on. Her roommate was a nice girl, she considered her her friend, but they never saw each other and Amelia didn't have any other close friends, not to mention her relationship with her siblings or her mother wasn't the best. The closest person she had was Colin. They had started dating a couple of months ago, but they didn't have much in common besides being doctors and alcoholics. They would spend most nights together, but never had actual conversations, they would only go out to drink, then go back to one of their apartments and fuck. It wasn't the best arrangement, but Amelia was more than willing to keep it up if it meant she had someone.
Amelia enjoyed every time she got to be on Doctor Koracik's service. She had known she wanted to be a neurosurgeon since she was 6 years old; at that age, it was because she wanted to know where happiness came from, and as she grew up and stuck to her dream, she truly fell in love with neurology. It was as challenging as it was fascinating. She was giddy, Doctor Koracik was performing a big surgery that day and there was a high chance she would be assisting him, he hadn't said anything, but it would make sense, she was on his service, right?
Amelia grinned at her attending when she saw him walking towards her, his expression was serious but she figured he might be a bit nervous about the surgery. She stood at the nurse station waiting for him to stop next to her. "Doctor Shepherd, you'll be helping Dr. Walsh in the ER while I operate today"
Her face fell "What? Why?"
"Because I told you so" He answered, taking the chart she was holding out of her hands.
"I thought you'd be needing help. It's a big surgery" She reasoned, hoping he would change his mind.
"Yeah, I got it covered. Freeman and Roberts will assist, I don't want my OR to be crowded"
"But I'm on your service today. I should be assisting" She reasoned with him, trying to remain calm.
He sighed and straightened his posture to look at her "Look, Shepherd. You can do whatever you want in your free time, but I won't let your actions affect my patients. If you wanna drink your ass into oblivion, that's your choice, a terrible one, but it's your choice. However, I need my residents to be sharp, I need to know they have their five senses to the max, so no. You won't be assisting me today"
His words hit her like cold water. This wasn't the first time she had been thrown off from someone's service because of her drinking, but she wasn't drunk this time "I didn't drink" she said honestly.
"Maybe you didn't drink today, but someone told me you were so drunk two days ago, you even fell to the floor. I don't care if you're not drunk right now, I still don't trust you with a scalpel. Now go to the ER, you're no longer on my service" Amelia was pissed, she turned around and started making her way to her new attending, but was stopped by Doctor Koracik's voice "Dr Shepherd?" She turned around "I've talked to the chief about this… You need to get your life together before it costs you your place here"
Amelia was fuming. She knew exactly who had told Koracik about her endeavors the moment he mentioned her falling. There was only one person who had seen it happen. It made sense, Arizona had been looking over her every time she could during the entire day, the blonde had tried to be smooth about it, but Amelia realized she was keeping an eye on her when she saw her walk by the neuro ward for the 5th time that day. Arizona was on Doctor Davidson's service, that was cardio, an entirely different ward, an entirely different floor.
Amelia walked to the locker room when she reached the end of her shift. She didn't hate the ER, but it wasn't her favorite. You could never know what kind of thing you could encounter there, it could go from a burst appendix, to a chopped off limb that needed to be reattached. It was always the most random stuff happening there and Amelia hated surprises. She was in a bad mood, not only because of that, but also because she had lost the opportunity to assist her favorite attending. Amelia rolled her eyes when, once again, she opened the door to find Arizona there, the blonde was about to leave the room but Amelia quickly stood in front of her, closing the door behind her "Congratulations. You must be very happy" she said dryly.
"Koracik got me off his service today and he threatened to talk to the chief about my 'drinking'" She finished, mimicking invisible air quotes at the end. Her rage was increasing quickly.
The gesture made Arizona laugh "Okay and?"
"I could be fired, do you understand that?"
"Oh well…" She tilted her head and shrugged nonchalantly.
"Why do you always have to be such a bitch?"
The blonde looked offended at the accusation "I'm sorry. I am the bitch? Are you sure? You a-" she paused to take a deep breath before continuing "You know what? Nevermind"
Arizona pushed her away from the door, but Amelia yanked her hand away from the doorknob and repositioned herself in front of her "No! I want you to tell me why did you tell Koracik about me"
She sighed "Look, I don't have time for this, I just finished a really long shift and I need to sleep"
"No" Amelia repeated "Tell me. Why are you trying to get me fired?" The scent of strawberries hit her again and she couldn't help herself when her eyes darted from tired, angry blue eyes to reddish, glossy lips.
Arizona scoffed at the comment "Are you really this self involved? I'm not trying to get you fired. I'm protecting your patients… And you" Amelia's eyes gazed back up again, confusion all over her face "How would you feel if you killed someone on the table because you were drunk?"
"I wasn't drunk today"
"But you were drunk once before, weren't you? That's why you're so mad I said something. Because they have reasons to believe you could be drunk"
She was right, she almost assisted in a surgery while drunk once. She was in the middle of her intern year and she was suspended for three weeks. Thankfully, she had been stopped before she could do anything, that's why she was allowed to go back, but she still had been reckless enough to let herself be in that position. She fought back tears as she tried to think of something to say.
Arizona's face softened "Look, I'm sorry. I'm really not trying to get in your way, but it's concerning to see the way you keep self destructing. I don't understand why you keep acting like that, it pisses me off. You piss me off. You're a good doctor, I've seen you! But you keep drinking and putting people in danger, it's just…"
"Oh you're gonna pretend you care?" Amelia barked "You've been nothing but a bitch to me for no reason and now you're gonna act like you care…" She let out a sarcastic laugh "You don't care about me. Nobody cares and that's fine. Just leave me the hell alone"
"You really believe that? I'm sure there are lots of people who care about you and you would notice if you got your head out of your ass for a moment"
"Yeah? And who would that be?" Amelia challenged her to answer "My brother? My sisters? My boyfriend? Yo-"
She was cut off by a hand gently lifting her chin before lips came crashing into her own. She was taken aback by the action, but it didn't take long for her to return the kiss. Her hands traveled up to rest on either side of Arizona's face and she smiled to herself when she finally confirmed the source of the strawberry scent she had been thinking about. It was her lipgloss. The kiss was short but intense and somehow sweet. Amelia would have never thought the blonde's lips could feel this soft; she felt something stir within her. Both opened their eyes as they parted and Amelia quickly retrieved her hands from Arizona's face.
"I do" Arizona said frankly, her lips curved into a hint of a smile before she made another attempt to exit the room, this time she found no resistance.
A/N: Me again. Hope you enjoyed the first of the twenty-ish times we'll meet here. Please, please, please let me know your thoughts and don't bash me for the accuracy of the timeline, let's pretend Arizona and Amelia could have crossed paths for two years. Also, I haven't watched Private Practice so I don't know Amelia's backstory that well, but remember this is a fanfic, anything can happen and some things can change, I'll try to get most facts right anyway.
Last but not least, as usual, I apologize for any grammar/spelling mistakes and for the lack of vocabulary, English is not my first language, but it's okay if you let me know if I fucked up somewhere. See you (hopefully) in like a month! xx
