It was a dark gray cloudy day over the beautiful Pridelands as young Kion and Kiara were walking towards Priderock, as they walked up the slope they could hear a really intense conversation going on in there "Please you must help us!"said a unknown male voice "I'm sorry but the Pridelands can not help you."a female voice which Kion reconized as his mother Nala. "Please the Lion Guard, i heard the Lion Guard was reassembled,they helped us with him last time."a desperate male voice pleaded.
Kion and Kiara got closer to the mouth of the cave and that was when they saw their parents talking to a elderly male lion who had sandy tan fur and a dark brown mane, "You heard wrong I'm afraid,how do you know if it's him,it's been years he has to be in his 90s now,he should be too old to be doing this,so it's probably a copycat."Nala said as the male lion shook his head no as the sound of thunder sounded "No...no...it's..it's him,please I beg of you you must help us...Gustave...he killed my daughter."The elder lion said with distress in his tone which made Kion and Kiara gasp softly as thunder roared in the distance "two days ago...my daughter was taking a drink from the river,as she done hundreds of times...that was when he appeared...for the first time in years,it happened so fast, she never saw him coming or had time to react, i pounced on him biting and scratching him trying to get him to release her, he knock me off...as he swam off with her, I swear I heard him laugh."The elder lion said with a shaking fearful tone as thunder roared.
Simba and Nala stared at the lion with complete sympathy but then it turned to regret as Simba glanced at Kion and Kiara before going back to the lion "I'm sorry but if Gustave really is back the Pridelands can't help you...no one can."Simba said with seriousness and sadness in his voice the elder lion sighed and stood up turning around that was when Kion and Kiara saw that he had a long scar on his right eye "but for what it's worth,the Lion Guard was sent to make him stop his senseless killing,but they should have killed him."Simba said with scorn the elder lion nodded and walked past the cubs, just as it started to rain.
"Dad who was that?"Kiara asked curiously "No one."Simba said with a monotonous grim tone "Who's Gustave and why did you lie about the lion guard not reforming?"Kion asked concerned and curious as to why he lied and who this Gustave is Simba stared out into the horzion into the storm "please no more questions."Nala said she gazed at Simba who continued to stare into the rain.
The next day it was partly cloudy as the lion guard waited for their leader, after a couple of minutes Kion arrived with Kiara "Guys we have a little bit of a mystery to solve,yesterday my parents were talking to a male lion who had a scar on his eye and he was talking about someone named Gustave."Kion said as the others gave him bewildered looks "Who?"Fuli asked "We don't know we tried asking our dad about it but he kept changing the subject or ignored us,this lion said that Gustave killed his daughter and he lied about the lion guard not being formed,and he refused to help,which is extremely out of character it's not like him not to help."Kiara said with growing concern about the situation "I have no clue who this Gustave is,you little B?"Beshte asked Binge shook his head "Hmm it's a mystery."Ono said.
"Let's ask Rafiki,he should know."Kion said as he and the gang immediately went up to Rafiki's home, "ahh Prideland protectors,how may I help you today?"Rafiki asked with a smile "Well yesterday my parents were talking to this male lion, who mentioned someone named Gustave?"Kion asked the color from Rafiki's face drained immediately as he stared at the young heroes with fear and horror "Gustave...he's returned?"Rafiki asked with sheer terror "Rafiki are you ok,I've never seen you like this?"Kiara asked as Rafiki began hyperventilating a little bit concerning everyone. "Gustave..."Rafiki shuttered in terror "Rafiki who is Gustave,how bad of a lion is it?"Kion asked as Rafiki shook his head "Gustave isn't a Lion Kion, he's a Crocodile a really really bad one,dare I say evil."Rafiki said with terror "a Crocodile?"everyone said in unison as Rafiki began to paint a little portrait of Gustave "Yes Gustave, a name that instills fear in all who hear it, Gustave is not to be messed with,he's taken the lives of over 300 victims, most of them weren't for food he just killed them out of fun,he has no respect for the circle of life."Rafiki said making Kiara gasp a little.
"He has scars on some parts of his body,and he's massive and strong,rumor goes that he once took down a full grown bull elephant without much effort."Rafiki said "heva kabisa."Kion said with unnerved shock, you have to be tough, big and strong to tangle with an Elephant and Crocodiles are tough but they're not that big or strong,but apparently Gustave is.
"To my understanding a Lion Guard delt with him before?"Kion asked making Rafiki sigh with utter sadness as he began painting "this iteration of the Guard was before your grandfather Mufassa was born, a distressed Lioness came from a place a days walk East West of here,she said she needed the Lion Guards help in making a monsterous Crocodile stop his senseless killing,they gladly execpted, it was there they learned that Gustave was not like any foe they faced, he's cunning, and more stubborn than a honey badger,the Lion Guard tried to make him stop but...Gustave refused and killed the Lion Guard leaving only the leader who used the roar to get him out,but at the cost of his mental health, he had nightmares for weeks until he..."Rafiki paused unable to get the words together.
"Gustave is a monster who terrorizes and takes what he wants and what he wants is the lives of anyone he sees."Rafiki said as the Lion Guard absorbed the info "why is he doing this,a crocodile doesn't just wake up one day and decides to kill everything there has to be a reason."Kiara said "i don't know about Gustave's origins but you could ask the crocodiles."Rafiki said and with that the gang immediately went over to the river where they saw Makuu and his float lounging about enjoying the sun and water "Makuu."Kion called out getting his and the other Crocs attention. "Well well well if it isn't Kion and his gang of sidekicks."Maui said mockingly "sidekicks?!"Bunga exclaimed offended "we're not here for trouble we just need info."Kion said "heh and why should I tell you anything?"Makuu asked with a smug look "it'll be the first helpful thing you've done in your life."Kiara said sneered Makuu growled at Kiara "Sorry I'm not in the business of helping you, leave now."Makuu said as he turned to leave but Kion wasn't going anywhere not without info on Gustave.
"What do you know about a Crocodile named Gustave?"Kion asked, making Makuu freeze in the water while everyone else gasped in horror Makuu turned to stare at Kion with the most serious unnerved expression he'd ever seen "Where did you hear that name?"Makuu asked with seriousness "from another lion yesterday,he said that Gustave is terrorizing his lands again and killed his daughter."Kion said "then they are doomed."Makuu said "Why is he doing this,what he does isn't right?!"Kiara asked with growing distress.
"I don't know exactly but if i had to guess it was because he was either abused or not loved enough as a hatchling,i once spoke to a Crocodile that knew him,Gustave didn't have the most pleasant upbringing,he was mostly ignored by his mother and father and bullied by his siblings and pretty much everyone else,one day he couldn't take it anymore and ran away and then several years later he came back, bloodthirsty and bigger than a Crocodile should be,some said it was 30 feet others 40 feet,he started hunting and killing animals,at first it was the ones that bullied him including his parents then he started killing other animals,not even eating some of them."
"So he's doing this,he wasn't treated right,that's unfortunate but..."Kion was interrupted by Makuu "but nothing,why are you interested in Gustave anyway, you're not thinking of going after him are you?"Makuu asked with a little concern no one said anything which made Makuu growl softy knowing that they were thinking about it "Oh...no.."Makuu said with utter shock.
"My father lied about the Lion Guard being reformed, and Rafiki told us about the last lion guard that went up against him."Kion said "Yeah your father was trying to protect you Kion and your friends Kion,Gustave is no one to play with,he'll kill you without a second thought or remorse,it's best to leave this alone."Makuu said as he swam away and the Lion Guard walked off. "We aren't going to let this go are we,this Gustave is disrespecting the circle of life?!"Bunga asked wanting to give Gustave what for Kion sighed knowing what he was going to say will stun everyone "i've been giving this some thought and Makuu is right,this isn't our fight,after hearing about how the last Lion Guard died fighting him,given our young age and his supposed size what chance do we have against him?"
"You got the Roar Kion,you could just roar him out."Bunga said with enthusiasm but Kion shook his head "as much as I want to help that lion and stop Gustave's senseless killing, there are some fights the lion guard shouldn't fight.,my dad won't risk our lives,and i agree with his decision."Kion said as he walked off with Kiara following him and the rest of the guard watching them leave. Unknown to them Simba was nearby listening to them and he was relieved Kion listened to the warnings of others about Gustave,he knew Kion wanted to help those in need but he should pick and choose his battles and this wasn't one of his fights.
Meanwhile at a river a little far from the Pridelands a massive crocodile with a few scars on it's body swam through the water with a sinister hatefilled look in his eyes then he disappeared below the water.
