NOW, SOME OF YOU MIGHT HAVE SEEN MY VOLTRON X TRANSFORMERS STORY BASED OFF OF DEVESTATION.
I DO PLAN ON CONTINUEING THAT STORY AS WELL AS PUTTING THE PRECEDING STORIES BEFORE IT.
FOR THOSE WHO READ M RATED STORIES, YOU MIGHT ALSO KNOW I STARTED A SONIC X CASTLEVANIA STORY.
ONLY REASON I LABELED IT AS RATED M IS BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT IT WAS CASTLEVANIA.
I DARE YOU TO TELL ME THAT I SHOULDN'T PUT THAT UP JUST IN CASE.
HOWEVER, ONCE I BEGAN TO WRITE THAT STORY, I BEGAN TO WONDER.
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF SOMETHING SIMILAR TO SONIC X HAPPENED, BUT SONIC AND HIS FRIENDS ENDED UP IN THE WORLD OF VOLTRON?
WELL, GIVEN HOW I LOVE THE OLD SCHOOL VOLTRON AND I THINK IT MIGHT BE FUNNY SEEING THE 90'S/2003 SONIC INTERACT WITH THE ORIGINAL 80'S VOLTORN, WHY DON'T I JUST HAVE FUN WITH IT?
NOW, THIS SONIC WILL BE A COMBINATION OF SEVERAL VERSIONS.
THE ARCHIE COMICS, THE SONIC X SONIC, THE GAMES, AND THE JAPANESE VERSION OF SONIC X, AS I WILL BE USING SOME OF THE THEMES AND CREDIT MUSIC FROM THAT VERSION!
MOSTLY BECAUSE I HATE A CERTAIN WRITER FOR SONIC, AM VERY HAPPY WITH HOW IAN FLYNN IS WRITING AND AM VERY ANGRY WITH THAT CERTAIN WRITER FOR TAKING CHARACTERS AWAY FROM ARCHIE AND MAKING IT END.
IF YOU'RE A SONIC FAN, YOU KNOW WHO I'M TALKING ABOUT.
AS FOR THE VOLTRON USED HERE, IT WILL BE THE 1984 VOLTRON SERIES, BUT THE END OF THE FIRST LION SEASON AND WILL BE STARTING AROUND THE SECOND LION SEASON.
AS FOR OTHER CHARACTERS, THE ARCHIE CAST WILL BE APPEARING, ALONGSIDE OTHERS WHO THAT WRITER STOLE AND I SHALL ATTEMPT TO USE THEM TO GOOD EFFECT HERE.
AND GIVEN THAT, AMY WILL NOT BE A LOVE INTEREST FOR SONIC, BUT SHE WILL NOT BE MADE A VILLAIN AND WILL RESPECT THE CHIPMUNK.

SONIC X: THE VOLTRON CHRONICLES!
It was a dark night on Mobius.
And at a certain base, a certain mad scientist was gloating.
"Finally! I have all the Chaos Emeralds!" He cheered as his six haired lackey looked in annoyance.
"And why haven't you pushed the button yet, Eggman?" He asked as Eggman suddenly began a countdown.
*BRREEER! BREEER! *
"THAT'S why, Snively. You can practically set a timer for when that RAT smashes his head into our operations." He told him, as Snively got to his station with a yellow tall robot and a short grey robot began to fire up the security systems.
He had to hurry.
Eggman had gotten all the Chaos Emeralds and was about to do something.
When he sent out the call, almost all of his friends were on their way to storm Eggman's base of operation.
Shadow had already taken out the first line of defense, and his team were inside the base taking down the robot guards.
"SONIC!" A female voice called out as he smiled and saw an Anthropomorphic Squirrel-Chipmunk on a flying motorbike.
"Hey, Sal! What's the situation?" He quickly asked as a Coyote and a half robot Bunny appeared alongside her.
"Rotor and Tails are working on getting us in, and Amy and Knuckles are working on getting the robots thinned down. But you're still our best bet! So why are you running so slow?" She teased as Sonic smirked.
"Hey, last time I did anything without your permission, it blew up in my face! GOING AT TOP SPEED NOW, SAL!" With that, he unlocked his speed cap and took off, leaving a blue streak behind.
"Figures. BUNNIE! ANTOINE! LET'S KICK IT UP A GEAR!" Sally called out as she revved her flying bike and sped up.
"WITH PLEASA, MA'AM!"
"AS ZEE PRINCESS COMMANDS!"
"Keep that energy stable, Rotor!" A two tailed fox called out to a Walrus who had two screwdrivers to try and create a short.
"Trying, Tails! Egghead seems to have made it to where I can barely keep my screwdrivers straight!" He replied back, before a pink hedgehog with a MASSIVE hammer smashed some approaching robots.
"Just keep focused you two! Me and Knuckles are having a time with all of these robots!" She shouted as a red echidna tore his fist through a more deluxe sized bot.
"Wish Sonic would hurry it up, Amy! We can't-!"
*WOOOOOOSH! *
"Never mind." He stopped himself as the Blue Blur himself sped through the hallway, smashing all the bots around.
"He always does that. Mention his name and Sonic appears, Knuckles." Tails said as he finally got the door open and they began to play around on the computer.
"CHAOS SPEAR!" A black hedgehog shouted as he sent a green spear of pure energy through the center of a bird robot.
"Looks like Tails and Rotor finally got into the security room! We're in, Shadow! Omega, keep us covered while I see if the Emeralds are in here!" a female bat called out as she picked the lock.
"AFFIRMATIVE. WILL PROTECT FELLOW AGENT ROUGE FROM WORTHLESS CONSUMER MODELS." A red and black robot replied in a robotic voice as he began to pepper the hallways with machine gun fire.
"Yo, Faker!" Shadow turned around and saw Sonic on top of one of the robots with a smirk on his face.
"Situation?" Shadow asked as he didn't look behind him when he backhanded a robot that TRIED to sneak up on him.
"Well, Eggman clearly has some kind of plan that he needs a giant generator to contain the Chaos Emeralds power. However, earlier this morning, he told me he had found a disc that contained a last recording of Gerald and Maria." Shadow looked right at Sonic with suspicion.
"Yeah that was my look too when he said that."
"So right now, neither of us know if he is telling the truth on that?" He asked as Sonic took out another robot.
"Yes, if you can keep up, and he's lying-!" Neither Rouge nor Omega heard the final words as Sonic and Shadow disappeared in streaks of black and blue.
"I COULD DETECT NO LIE FROM SONIC."
"Yes, but I think Sonic also knows that Shadow is the next best thing to stopping the flow of Chaos Energy from whatever it is Eggman is doing!"
Sonic and Shadow found themselves on the top of one of the towers as two GIANT robots tried to stomp on them or swat them.
"Eggman, we could save a lot of time and broken robots if you just give us the Emeralds and whatever disc you have for Shadow!" Sonic called out as he and Shadow dodged and broke the robots apart.
And then a claw smacked Sonic.
"Heads up, Sonic!" Sally called out as she tossed a ring to him.
Once he grabbed it, Sonic felt the power coursing through him, and both he and Shadow nodded at each other.
As they then activated a Spin Dash and ran right through them and upwards into a skylight.
Quickly the doors were being shut with the emergency gates and steel to try and stop the two hedgehogs from reaching the center.
"DR! Base is in full lockdown mode, but it seems Sonic and Shadow are still tearing up through us."
"Figures that Sonic would do this, and he delivered the message from me to Shadow." Eggman said as he began to put the finishing touches on his device.
"Let us out, Dr. Eggman!" A young Bunny shouted as she was being hugged by a rabbit that was older than her.
"Once Sonic gets here, I promise you he won't be gentle!" The older rabbit shouted as she and the younger rabbit hugged a blue angelic creature.
"Oh, I KNOW, Vanilla. You, Cream and Cheese are more than mere hostages. You're my BARTER CHIPS." He smirked as Snively was running through the security monitors to figure out where the two hedgehogs were.
"And I highly doubt that Sonic or Shadow can stop-"
*CRASH! *
"WAH!" He screamed when an explosion blew down the door, as he slowly turned around …
And saw Sonic and Shadow standing in the door.
"MR. SONIC! MR. SHADOW!" Cream cried happily at seeing two of Mobius' heroes standing there.
"Greeeeaaaat." Eggman moaned as he then smirked.
"But much too late." Quickly, he put the last emerald into the slot and typed some commands into the console.
"If you two make so much as one step, I am taking us all for a ride, all courtesy of this little button." He said, as he was confident that they wouldn't try anything.
"Before we begin the usual banter, Eggman, did you actually mean what you said when you found a video diary of Gerald and Maria?" Sonic asked as Shadow began to crack his neck.
"I did, but I will only give it to you, Shadow, if you take out the blue pest." Sonic and Shadow just looked at each other …
Before Shadow teleported away and then back WITH the disc in hand.
"WHA-JA-BA- HOW DID YOU!?"
"Next time, try not to put it in the EXACT same spot as last time." He said as he put the disc in a slot in his back.
"At least I still have my Barter Chips!" Eggman said as he gestured towards some empty capsules.
And he then registered what I just typed.
"WHAT THE!?"
"UP HERE, EGGHEAD!" Eggman looked up and saw Sally, Bunnie and Antoine smirking while keeping Cream, Vanilla and Cheese covered.
Sally had a smirk while brandishing her energy swords at Eggman and his cronies.
"Now would be a good chance to SURRENDER, Eggman." She said flatly as Eggman shook his head.
"In case you forgot, I have the button in my hand! All I need to do is to push it!" He boasted as Sonic and Shadow AGAIN looked at each other.
"If you can push it before me or Shadow can grab it!" Eggman froze, remembering WHY Sonic got his name and how fast Shadow could teleport around.
And then, two of his attack robots appeared behind them.
"Well, you are welcome to try!" He said, as the Robots opened fire …
Only to have to start chasing the hogs around the room.
"DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY!" He ordered as Sonic and Shadow began to Bob and weave around the bullets being spewed at them.
"Hey, Shadow! How much you want to bet Eggman forgot to put friend or foe data in this thing?" For once, Shadow smirked at Sonic's idea.
"I say we put that theory to the test!" Eggman hadn't heard their plan and gave an additional order to the robots.
"Stop them! No matter what!" He ordered …
Before realizing Sonic and Shadow were STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM.
And the robots were gearing up to fire.
"WAH! NO WAIT HOLD YOUR FIRE!"
In his panic, he ducked as the bullets flew over his head and he pressed the button.
"HA! HERE WE GO!"
*KRZKZKZKRKZKZK! *
However, when Eggman looked behind him, he saw that the fire had also puncture the main conduit for the chaos energy.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" He shouted as the energy built up and began to expand outward.
Sonic, Shadow and Sally were HORRIFIED at what was happening as Antoine and Bunnie tried to cover Cream, Vanilla and Cheese.
Elsewhere, everyone was beginning to realize something had gone wrong.
"ALERT! BUILDUP OF CHAOS ENERGY DETECTED!"
"IT MUST BE DOING A VERY UNSTABLE CHAOS CONTROL!" And with that declaration from Knuckles, the entire base alongside the Tornado were sucked into a massive ball of energy.
On Angel Island, Locke had a sudden shortness of breath as his ex-wife, Lara-Le, walked in as she too looked horrified.
"Locke, I know we had a falling out, but-!"
"No, Lara, I too could feel it." Locke looked up as he walked to the edge with Lara looking with him.
"Something has happened to our son."
(G.U.N HEADQUARTERS!)
"I'M TELLING YOU, I CAN'T FIND HIS SIGNAL!" Hope Kintobor told Commander Tower as she was frantically typing on the console.
"Well, what happened at his last location!?" He demanded, worried for his best team.
"They-they were in Eggman's base." Hope dropped her voice as she began to realize what happened.
"And now I'm deterring NOTHING where that base used to be … except for a huge after wave of Chaos Energy." Tower's eyes went wide, realizing the implications.
"Then let's hope that they can make their way back."
"I SWEAR THEY WERE ON MOBIUS, THEN THE NEXT THEY'RE GONE!" Nicole "shouted" through her speaker as King Maximillian, Queen Alicia and Elias were with Jules, Bernadette and Chuck were horrified when she told them that she lost everyone's signal.
"Not even Tails?" Merlin asked as Amadeus and Rosemary were holding onto each other in fear.
"ALL of them. And apparently Eggman didn't learn last time what happens when you play with Chaos Energy as there is a massive hole crawling with the energy where that base used to be. My guess, they were transported either somewhere else in the universe, OR they were sent to a different dimension." Maximillian sighed as he put his hand through his head.
"Amadeus, Jules. Try and talk to G.U.N and the Echidnas. With Eggman gone, there is SURE to be a power vacuum."
"Let us hope our children return soon." Jules said as his facial features took on a very nervous look.
Sonic was flat on the ground as he felt himself waking up, surrounded by blackness.
"Arg, when will Baldy Nosehair learn to knock it off with Chaos Manipulation?" Sonic groaned as he rubbed his head and then heard two groans near him.
Looking behind him, he saw Shadow and Sally groaning.
"Glad to see you two survived the trip." Sonic said as Shadow sat up.
"Depends on SURVIVE at the moment." He growled as Sally got back to her feet.
"OK, either we arrived on a planet that has no sun, or our eyes are still adjusting after that out of control Chaos Control." She said as Sonic looked at Shadow in confusion.
"Hey, why didn't you try to manipulate it?"
"The contraption Eggman made interfered with my ability to directly control it. I'm amazed we survived that at all." Shadow said as he then closed his eyes.
"I'm not sensing the Chaos Emeralds around here, so we need to-"
*SWOOSH! *
"YIPE!" Sonic shouted in surprise as a sword suddenly came out of nowhere and almost decapitated him.
Sally then suddenly felt something behind her and activated her energy blades as she blocked several lasers coming at her.
Shadow created a Chaos Spear and stabbed SOMETHING behind him as their eyes finally let them see what was going on.
They were in some kind of throne room with several black vampiric looking creatures pointing swords and laser rifles at them.
And on a throne, was a blue skinned creature that looked even MORE like a vampire with yellow eyes, dark blue skin, a crown and a royal outfit alongside a robbed old woman holding a cat who was growling at them.
To his right was a young man who didn't have as horrific a look, but had purple skin, the same yellow eyes, long white hair, a helmet that looked like a double axe, and a laser sword at his hip.
"IDENTIFIY YOURSELVES! WHO ARE YOU, WHAT WAS THAT ENERGY, AND HOW HAVE YOU PENETRATED PLANET DOOM'S DEFENSES!?" The blue king roared as the young man unsheated his laser sword.
"Answer my father, rodents! And show respect to the mighty King Zarkon!" He demanded as Shadow noticed that the black creature he stabbed was just a robot.
"OBEY PRINCE LOTOR'S DEMANDS, STRANGE CREATURES AND YOU SHALL BE KILLED WITH MINIMAL AGONY." They robotically ordered as Sonic just looked at Zarkon with a look of annoyance.
"That's the best you got, Dracula? Me, Sally and Shadow eat robots like these for breakfast." He told him …
Before dodging a really well aimed scepter that Zarkon threw.
"You DARE to insult me like that, creature? Let us see how well you dodge, you rat!" He yelled as he was about to throw another one …
Before Sonic was suddenly in his face.
"Guess I forgot to tell you my name. First off, I'm not a rat, I'm a hedgehog! Sonic the Hedgehog to be specific! And second off, my friend Shadow here could blow us all up if he wanted." That got the attention of the robed lady with the cat.
"Oh he can, can he?" She asked …
Before her hands glowed and Shadow got dragged over to her.
"More powerful than my magic?" She asked as Shadow glared at her.
"I am the Ultimate Life Form, witch." He said to her face, before he tried to skewer her with a Chaos Spear.
However, the cat was not just for decorations and petting as it leapt at Shadow and began to claw at him, forcing him to close his eyes.
"GAH! Nice try! Chaos … CONTROL!" Suddenly, he flashed and tried to stab Zarkon from above, only for the King to whirl around and block him with his scepter.
"Chaos, huh? Tell me. Are you actually conquerors? That doesn't seem like something heroes would use." He told Shadow, who shrugged.
"I don't really view myself as a hero. I just keep my promise to an old friend!" With that, he kicked Zarkon in the head and ducked a blade swing from Lotor as he again teleported next to Sonic and Sally.
"OK, anyone have any ideas?" Sonic asked as they were getting surrounded.
"Shadow, do you have enough energy for THAT?" Shadow smirked, understanding what she meant by THAT.
"Indeed, prepare to duck!" Sonic and Sally braced, ready to follow through.
"Chaos …." Shadow began as the robots began to brace, thinking he was going to teleport.
"Haggar, have you ever encountered this kind of energy before?" Zarkon quickly asked the robbed figure.
"Never, but if I may, I would like to study them." Zarkon smirked and nodded at Lotor.
"Prepare yourselves!" He said, thinking they were about to teleport away as well …
Until they all saw Shadow begin to glow red as Sonic and Sally quickly went flat on the ground.
"BLAST!"
Suddenly, a massive wave of red energy burst out of him, as the robots closest to him disintegrated into dust while anything further out was flung against the wall, Haggar barely putting up enough energy to protect her, Zarkon and Lotor as they covered their eyes.
"Run for it!" Sonic shouted as Shadow caught his breath and tried to catch up …
Only to get hit in the back of the leg and shoulder with two scepters thrown by Zarkon.
"That power is incredible! Restrain them at once!" He ordered as more robots swarmed in.
"Get out of here, Sonic! Keep Sally safe!" Sonic looked at Shadow incredulously …
Before he took off for Zarkon, elbowing him in the stomach, twirling around Lotor's sword as he took a swing, grabbing his helmet, and spinning it around to where it blocked his eyes.
Then he rebounded off the wall and grabbed Shadow with his good arm, then grabbed Sally as they made a sonic boom and punched a hole clean through the wall.
"A SONIC BOOM!? HE CAN MOVE FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF SOUND BY HIMSELF!?" Zarkon asked incredulously, as his ears were still ringing from being near the epicenter of the boom.
"APPARANTLY, YOUR MAJESTY! WE MUST CAPTURE THEM AND FIGURE OUT A WAY TO HARNESS THEIR POWERS!" Haggar shouted as best she could as her cat had its paws over its ears.
"DO YOU REQUIRE THEM ALIVE OR DEAD, HAGGAR?" Lotor shouted, as his ears were still ringing and having just gotten his helmet straight.
"NO PREFERENCE, YOUNG PRINCE! I SHALL LEAVE IT UP TO YOU WHAT CONDITION THEY ARE IN AS LONG AS IT'S NOT A PILE OF ASH!" She shouted in answer.
"ALL ULTRA DROIDS! CAPTURE THOSE THREE! DEAD OR ALIVE BUT LEAVE A BODY!" Zarkon ordered as all the robots began to run through the hole and the complex.
"Sonic, why did you ignore me!?" Shadow demanded in a whisper as they were outside the creepy-looking castle, as Shadow was holding his injuries.
"You KNOW I don't leave a friend behind, Shadow! Even then, that king called this planet 'DOOM' so chances are we aren't escaping him unless we get off world!" Sonic pointed out as they went quiet.
"OK, my guess is that that building over there has some kind of ship, given it looks like it has a launch ramp and an open top." Sally pointed out as she physically pointed over to a lower building that looked to have ships arriving in it.
"Good thinking Sal. Shadow, are you going to need a piggyback ride?" He jokingly asked, before Shadow shakily stood.
"I don't need a piggyback ride, Sonic. But I can't teleport when my body is like this. Think you can shut up for 10 minutes?"
"Make it 20."
(10 MINUTES LATER!)
Sonic, Shadow and Sally were sneaking through the vents after they had gotten to what seemed to be the space port for this planet as they saw the guards move away.
Sonic had a confused look and motioned with his head, as Sally shrugged.
Using her swords, she cut the grating out and Shadow quickly grabbed it before it hit the ground to make noise.
Landing softly, they quickly looked around and saw what looked like a skull ship resting.
"That's our ticket out of here." Sonic whispered before the doors started to shut.
"CLOSING TIME! MOVE IT!" Sally ordered as they leapt through the closing hole and got in …
To then have to avoid decapitation by flying swords.
"SERIOUSLY, ENOUGH WITH THE THROWING!" Sonic shouted as 3 squads of robots appeared and tried to stop them.
Despite being injured, Shadow could still fight and was able to knock a squad away.
Sonic managed to use his Blue Tornado attack to suck up another squad and trash them.
Sally stood at the ready, waiting for the right moment to strike.
"Sonic, Shadow! Get in the ship! I'll hold them off here!" Sally ordered as Sonic hesitated before Shadow growled at him and they ran into the, hopefully, spaceship to start it up.
Sally then closed her eyes as she raised her swords and began to take on the five-robot squad.
First one, she took out by slicing him at the waist, using it as a shield to block the next one's sword swing.
She then kicked its sword into another robot before backflipping over a robot that tried to swing at her from behind, beheading it as she did.
She then angled her swords to where the only other robot that had brought a laser rifle got his beams ricochetted back into him.
Then she almost got taken by surprise by the one she had ignored earlier, turning off her swords as she caught the blade the robot tried to use to cleave her in half.
To the robot's misfortune, she was able to turn the blade around and force the sword through its abdomen as it sparked with electricity and then threw it at the bots getting up from Shadow's attack.
She quickly caught her breath as she then calmed down.
"Not bad for a woman rodent." She took on a deadpan stare as she looked back at Lotor.
"I'm the leader of an underground rebel team trying to free our planet from a madman. Do you really think I would get that position from brains alone?" Lotor chuckled as he put his hand on his saber's hilt.
"Tell me, what is your name?" He asked as Sally knelt with her hands stretched out, ready to activate her swords.
"Sally Acorn. Dual, or single?" She asked with a smirk, which Lotor returned.
"Dual. Give me a decent challenge, Sally Acorn." With that, he drew his laser sword as Sally ran forward, her dual sabers flashing outwards as they clashed in midair, Sally attempting to strike at Lotor's chest, only for the prince to dance out of the way and spin his sword around to try and strike her.
"An excellent use of an advance technique. Tell me, are you just some peasant?" Sally sneered.
"Royalty, but that was stripped from me by that same madman. And I'm already a taken lady, so no flirting." Lotor laughed.
"Wasn't TRYING to. I already have my eyes set on someone else. I just prefer to have a good FIGHT is all." He replied as he then made a stab attack that Sally easily blocked before using both swords to twist the saber out of his hand as it went flying into the air.
Lotor, however, didn't panic and jumped off Sally's shoulder to grab his sword midfall and tried to use the momentum to slice through her.
Sally brought up one blade to block him, then tried to cleave her other sword through him, only to have to dodge when he tried to kick her.
Both rolled away as Sally was on one knee, staring at Lotor as he bounded off the ground and fancifully spun his sword around to point it at her.
"Most impressive, Sally Acorn. As a warrior, you have my utmost respect. It pains me to have to kill someone like you, but this is where it ends!"
Sonic and Shadow had finally reached the bridge and saw six seats for different controls.
"OK, uh, Shadow? Do you know how to fly this thing?" Sonic nervously asked.
"Is it the same as the Tornado?"
"No?"
"Then I say that the ability to pilot this thing is irrelevant! Just take one of the chairs at the front! One of those must be the pilot seat!" Shadow barked as he took the seat on the left, while Sonic took the one on the right.
"OK, let's hope I'm pushing the right buttons!" Sonic shouted as he hit three buttons on the right of the console, and then some switches on the left of the console.
Thankfully, that was the trick as they heard the engines firing up.
"OK, I think this is the thrust control!" Sonic told Shadow as he pulled a lever back.
And they started to go forward when Shadow realized something.
"SONIC, CLOSE THE HATCH OR WE'LL LOSE OXYGEN!" He shouted as he began to feel the ship taking off.
"I'M HOLDING IT OPEN UNTIL WE GET IN THE AIR FOR SALLY TO GET IN!"
Sally and Lotor had their blades locked together trying to push the other back to open a weak point.
"I again admit to you being a worthy opponent, Sally Acorn. If I were an honorable man, I would concede and let you leave." Sally quirked an eyebrow at that.
"But since you're not so honorable, what are you going to do?" She challenged, before Lotor got his leg under hers and tripped her up.
"Do it to where I can get an advantage!" He said as he tried to bring his sword down.
Sally was ready with a retort when she quickly saw that the ship was moving.
Turning her blades off quickly, she forced some energy through them as she jetted away from her position.
Lotor almost lost his balance as he tried to chase.
Sally re-engaged her Ring-Blades as she used them to get more momentum to leap through the air and into the ship.
Quickly hitting the button and closing the door, she stuck her tongue out at Lotor as he stopped running and glared.
"Get me a pursuit ship. We're going after them."
Sally had stumbled her way into the bridge as she got into a seat.
"Hang on! We're getting out of this joint!" Sonic called out as he groaned at having to pull back on both the throttle and the control stick to climb into the air.
"Just bear with it a few more minutes!" Shadow told himself as he felt the pain from his wounds creeping back in.
Soon, they leveled out and things began to get smoother.
"OK. I think we are out of the atmosphere. Let's see where we are." Sally said as she punched some random commands into the controls.
"COURSE SET FOR PLANET ARUS." A deep computerized voice declared as a guideline suddenly appeared on the monitor.
"OK, hopefully we have enough fuel and enough know how to pilot this thing to that planet." Sonic said as he began to try and steer.
Thankfully, it was only 10 minutes until they saw the planet.
"Seems to be a lot better than whatever that hole was that was Planet Doom." Sonic reported as Shadow then growled.
"And they've caught up with us!"
Lotor was studying the movements of the ship as he saw how jerky it was.
"They must not have the means of planetary travel where they are from. Destroy the engines!" With that order, the main laser cannon scored a direct hit on the back engines of the ship.
"Prepare to use the tractor beams and we'll bring them back with us to Planet Doom." Lotor ordered.
"Sal, they just took out our main engines! Tell me you figured out if we have weapons!" Sonic said horrified as the rocking of the ship made Sally lose her balance and hit a random button.
Through some stroke of luck, it fired several lasers back at their pursuers, as the ship got caught in the planet's gravitational field.
"We're in Arus' gravitational field! Hopefully, that means they call off the pursuit!" Shadow called out as Sonic was pulling up on the controls to try and keep them leveled.
"PRINCE LOTOR, THEY HAVE BEEN CAUGHT IN ARUS' GRAVITATIONAL FIELD. DO WE ABORT?" Lotor thought about that for a while.
"We can't capture them, but hopefully, given how they seemed eager to escape, there are more like them out there. Try and finish them off, I shall deal with my father and Haggar with the decisions." Lotor said, as he then nodded at the ones in control of the weapons system.
"Open up with everything we have, destroy them!" He ordered as they began a very brutal assault on the ship.
"WELL, HE'S PERSISTANT, I'LL GIVE LOTOR THAT!" Sally cried as the ship rocked back and forth.
"IT'S CLEAR HE IS TRYING TO END US SINCE HE CAN'T DRAG US BACK! SONIC, DO SOMETHING TO SLOW US DOWN!" Shadow barked as they began to fall out of control through the air and began burning up in the atmosphere.
"WHATEVER THEY DID, THEY TOOK OUT THE LANDING GEAR AND MOST OF THE ENGINES! I CAN'T EVEN CONTROL OUR ANGLE RIGHT NOW!" Sonic shouted in a panic as they fell through the air.
Suddenly, the rear of the ship tore off as winds began to kick up.
"HOW FAR FROM THE GROUND ARE WE!?" Sonic shouted as Shadow and Sally did some quick calculations.
"IF YOU TAKE OFF AT 75 MPH IN ABOUT 30 SECONDS IT WILL BE SAFE ENOUGH FOR US TO FALL THROUGH THE AIR TO SOMETHING SOFT!" Shadow shouted as Sonic unbuckled himself and grabbed Shadow's good arm and Sally held his other hand.
Sonic began to count down the seconds until the time Shadow said.
Then went from zero to 75 in under 0.00000010 seconds.
"AND WE ARE IN THE AIR!" Sonic declared as he, Shadow and Sally began to free fall through the air.
"PRINCE LOTOR, IT APPEARS THAT THE ONE KNOWN AS SONIC HAS JUMPED OUT WITH HIS ALLIES. THEY ARE ON A SAFE DESCENT TO THE PLANET." Lotor growled but for once, didn't get angry.
Or get distracted by a certain someone else down on that planet.
"Pity we couldn't capture them, but we can't fully reveal we are back yet. What is the status of the ship they took?"
"NO TRACE OF THE SHIP. THE AUTODESTRUCT SEQUENCE IS DOING ITS JOB WELL."
"At least there won't be any evidence from us for now. Return to Planet Doom. Hopefully father and Haggar won't freak out too much over this." Lotor groaned as the ship beat a hasty retreat to Planet Doom.
"So, Sal, any signal from our friends?" Sonic asked as they were on a steady freefall, hopefully with a soft landing.
"Sorry Sonic, but the communicators don't work if they are on different planets, and only work in short distances otherwise. I can't tell if anyone else is on this planet." She told him as Shadow sighed.
"Then let's hope we find a Chaos Emerald on this rock, if they got transported over here as well. And find someplace to treat my wounds, GAH!" Shadow yelped, the adrenaline wearing off and the pain shooting through where Zarkon had managed to nail him.
"Uh, quick questions. One, you can't use Chaos Control on others if you don't have an Emerald, right, Shadow?" Sonic asked as he was staring at something.
"Correct. And even if I did, I'm INJURED, remember!?" He sneered as Sonic turned to Sally.
"And you don't have enough energy to fly us off course, right?" Sally looked at Sonic in confusion.
"No. Seriously Sonic, what is scaring you?" Sonic then pointed down.
Shadow and Sally then saw a metal-looking castle with a stone Lion out front.
"Maybe we can find help here." Sally said …
Until she FINALLY saw what was scaring Sonic.
They were heading for WATER.
And from what Sally could tell, very deep water.
"What's the problem? The water will cushion our fall."
"Sonic can't swim, and given your injured arm and leg, I'm willing to beat YOU can't swim either. AND I CAN'T DRAG YOU BOTH UP JUST BY USING MY LEGS!" Shadow then realized that as well, and they all tried to do SOMETHING to change their trajectory.
Unfortunately, all they did was end up FALLING FASTER.
"IT WAS NICE KNOWING YOU GUYS! BOTH MOBIANS AND READERS!" Sonic shouted as they finally touched down.
*KER SPLASH! *
It had been a long 2 weeks since the defeat of Zarkon.
She was so exhausted from the number of royal meetings she had to do with Galaxy Garrison and several leaders of Arus that literally she had just planted herself on her bed without getting out of her jumpsuit and boots.
She was also aware of a certain male who had accidentally went into the wrong room.
Not that she minded, she just wanted to make sure that it was mutual and not going to cause problems down the road if she took the step.
*KER SPLASH! *
Startled, she jumped out of her bed as she ran to her balcony window, seeing a massive plum of water leap into the air.
Right above where her lion was.
"Did you see what caused that?" She nearly jumped when the man was suddenly behind her, seeing the same thing.
"It wasn't a bomb or anything, but I think I see three figures trying to get out!" With that, she ran out of her room, the man following right behind her.
Sonic, Shadow and Sally had just touched down, so they tried to jump back out of the water.
All they did was sink back down.
Shadow was grimacing from the water that was seeping into the wounds, while Sonic was trying to figure out a way from under the water since his speed was useless here.
Sally was the only one able to swim now, but even she knew she couldn't help them BOTH out since her legs weren't strong enough.
Sonic looked down and almost panicked.
When Sally and Shadow saw why, they didn't exactly blame him.
They weren't at the bottom of the lake.
THEY WERE ON TOP OF A GIANT BLUE ROBOT LION!
Suddenly, Sonic noticed that there was a smooth incline up the hill to dry land.
Motioning with his head, he and Shadow began to try and run over to it to get to above water before they ran out of lung energy.
"Right here!" The woman shouted as she pointed at a set of waves being made.
"Seems like whatever it was, it can't swim." The man told her, as she then ran onto the bridge.
"Hey, what are you planning!?" The man shouted as she stood up on the stone railing.
"Diving from the bridge to them! That's the fastest way to them!" She told him as she then began to adjust her stance.
"Whoa, it's dangerous to do that alone!" He told her as she shook her head.
"It may be a trap, but I can't just let them drown!" She retorted, only to realize he was standing right next to her.
"I said it was dangerous to do it ALONE. I'm doing it with you." She stared at him.
In admiration, or thanks?
She really couldn't tell as she smiled, and they jumped off.
Sonic, Shadow and Sally had been trying to get some momentum going to get over to the uphill slope to get out of the water.
Sonic and Shadow hadn't even budged an inch, while Sally had been refusing to move away from them in case they needed help.
Deciding to try and give up on that momentum, Sonic and Shadow kept running in place, floating up two inches …
Before they both realized that there was no way they could keep that up and get air that way as they just stopped and sat back down on the lion head they were stuck on.
Sonic just sat there with a pout on his face as Shadow grimaced again at the water aggravating his injuries again as Sally tried to figure out a way for them to both get out.
Suddenly, they heard a muffled splash and saw two figures swimming towards them.
Getting an idea, Sally got one of her arms underneath Sonic's and her other underneath Shadow's good arm as the figures got their arms underneath Sally's and helped her get them out of the water.
Soon, they surfaced and Sonic and Shadow began to expel the water that was in their lungs.
"That was a close one, you three, OK?" A female voice asked as Sonic smirked.
"Yeah, thanks for saving our tails." He said as he turned to face who it was that spoke.
He then saw a very pretty (compared to Sally in his opinion at least) strawberry blonde woman in a pink jumpsuit with white boots and blue eyes that showed off a kind heart, albeit with a bit of naivety in them.
"You … you can talk?" She asked as Shadow and Sally laughed.
(START THE BEGINNING OF SONIC X MI-RA-I!)
"Of course we can talk!" Sally replied as Shadow just shook his head when he looked up and saw a fair skinned male with a black hair mullet, black eyes that showed the fierceness of a leader, but with some restraint, and a red jumpsuit.
"I don't think we've ever met ones like you guys before. Are you from a different planet?" He asked as Shadow just gave him a deadpan look.
"Depends on your definition of different planet. We don't even know if we are in the same dimension we were in before." Shadow told him as the woman giggled a bit.
"I don't think we need to be like that! Let's just start off by introducing ourselves! I'm Allura, Princess of Arus." The woman told them as the male then spoke up.
"And I'm Keith Kogane. Welcome to Arus?" He stopped as he waited for them to introduce themselves.
"I'm Shadow, the Ultimate Life Form." Shadow huffed as Sally sighed.
"I'm Sally Acorn, Princess of a nation on the planet Mobius." She said as Allura and Keith looked to the last one.
"I'm Sonic." He said with a smirk, clearly not being frightened by these two.
(BEGIN THE INTRODUCTION TO THE WORDS OF MI-RA-I!)
"Sonic The Hedgehog!"
(AS THE SONG STARTS UP, WE SEE TAILS AND A YOUNG BOY IN A GREEN SUIT SLEEPING ON A COUCH AS THEY FADE AWAY, LIKELY RETURNING TO THEIR ROOMS TO SLEEP.)
THE JOURNEY THAT AWAITS US IS ABOUT TO BEGIN,
(ON ANOTHER SECTION OF THE COUCH, ON THE FLOOR, A OVERSIZED MAN IS SLEEPING WHILE AMY IS ON THE COUCH WITH A PILLOW IN HER ARMS, AS THEY TOO FADE AWAY.)
BUT ARE YOU READY? HERE COMES THE MORNING.
(THEN, WE SEE CREAM AND CHEESE SLEEPING AS WELL WHILE A BROWN HAIRED MAN IN A LEATHER JACKET IS SLEEPING ON THE TABLE THAT SEEMS TO HAVE HAD A PARTY MEAL AS THEY TOO FADE AWAY.)
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CHANGE INTO A NEW SHIRT,

AND THEN START RUNNING ALL THROUGH THE EVENING.
(WE THEN SEE THAT KEITH HAS A PEN AND PAPER OUT, JOTING DOWN NOTES AS WE SEE THE FOUR ARE WATCHING THE EVENTS OF THE CHAPTER, WITH THE THREE FREEDOM FIGHTERS TAKING ON ZARKON AND HIS MINIONS)
EVERY NIGHT THE PLANET THAT JUST NEVER SLEEPS,
(CONTRARY TO WHAT THE LYRICS SAYS, ALLURA AND SALLY ARE SHOWN TO BE GETTING SLEEPY AS THEY LAY THEIR HEADS ON THE SHOULDERS OF KEITH AND SONIC RESPECTIVLY, AS THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER WITH A SLIGHT BLUSH AT WHAT THE GIRLS ARE DOING, BEFORE JUST GOING ALONG WITH IT.)
