Let's give Commander Sheppard from the Mass Effect franchise an ability to change a single word (any word at all, can insert or delete as well) in each codex entry encountered during the writing of each chapter.

Codex to be changed:

Adrenaline Rush*

"Moments of quiet focus bring a state of heightened awareness and speed. Time slows down, allowing the Soldier to move, aim, and fire faster while taking less damage. Movement, aiming, and firing rate increase, and damage resistance improves. Skills and weapon switch timing is unaffected."

Changes:

"objectively" was added after "time slows down".

Chapter 1: A Spectator at Eden Prime*

The cold, gray surface of the Moon was far behind now, replaced by the lush greenery and tranquil atmosphere of Eden Prime. Commander Jane Shepard had just completed her N7 training, a grueling process that had pushed her to the limits of her physical and mental capabilities. She felt a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing that she was now ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead.

As the shuttle touched down on the landing pad near the excavation site, Shepard felt a mix of excitement and trepidation. She was here to spectate the unearthing of a Prothean artifact, an event of monumental importance. Alongside her was Saren, a Spectre with a reputation that was both awe-inspiring and slightly intimidating.

The excavation site was bustling with activity. Scientists and engineers were hard at work, carefully uncovering the ancient technology. Shepard and Saren made their way through the crowd, their presence drawing a mix of curiosity and respect.

"Commander," Saren said, his voice calm and authoritative, "this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The Protheans were a highly advanced civilization, and whatever we find here could change everything we know about them."

Shepard nodded, her eyes fixed on the artifact. "I understand, Saren. I just hope we can handle whatever comes with it."

Just as the scientists were about to make the final adjustments, a sudden commotion broke out. A group of geth, the synthetic race created by the quarians, emerged from the surrounding hills, their weapons at the ready.

"Get to cover!" Shepard shouted, pulling out her assault rifle. She had heard of the geth but had never faced them in battle. Her training kicked in, and she moved with precision, taking down the first few geth with quick shots.

Saren, ever the seasoned fighter, was already engaging the enemy with his biotics, sending a wave of force that knocked several geth off their feet. Shepard activated her Adrenaline Rush. *What originally should be, "Time slows down, giving you a critical combat advantage." now becomes, "Time slows down objectively, giving you a critical combat advantage."* The world around her seemed to slow to a crawl, and she could see every movement, every reaction with crystal clarity. She moved with a fluidity she had never experienced before, taking out the remaining geth with ease.

As the dust settled, Shepard and Saren assessed the situation. The artifact was still intact, but the site was in chaos. Shepard realized that Saren's presence and the geth attack were not coincidences. Something was going on, and she was determined to uncover the truth.

"Thank you, Commander," Saren said, his tone sincere. "Without your quick thinking, we might have lost the artifact."

Shepard nodded, her mind racing. "We need to report this back to the Council. Something tells me this is just the beginning."

Little did she know, this was only the start of a much larger and more dangerous journey.
