Chapter 2: A Night To Remember (Re-Edited)
I can't believe it's been almost a month since updating this fanfiction. Anyways, here's the 2nd chapter of "Love Always Conquers All" and I've been enjoying all the positive feedback being received by others as it keeps me motivated and builds myself up as a writer. A few days have gone by and things couldn't be better for our couple as they planned on enjoying a night out around Minato, Tokyo. Over at Tomoyo's place, she's busy getting herself sorted and thinking about how she'll look when Sakura arrives? Suddenly, the doorbell started ringing and Tomoyo opened the door to see Sakura looking gorgeous as always.
"Hello, Sakura! Why don't you let yourself in? I'll just be heading back upstairs to finish getting myself sorted." Tomoyo explained.
"No problem!" Sakura politely replied.
Waiting patiently for 30 minutes, Sakura decided to look around the place to help rid herself of boredom and only stopped by the view directly in front of her. It was Tomoyo wearing a long-sleeved purple sparkling dress, red cardigan to keep herself warm and black thermal boots.
"Are you liking what you seeing?" Tomoyo mockingly gestured and Sakura blushed intensely. It made her unable to move or speak slightly and all because of being allured by her lovers beauty.
"I'm only joking if you must know. Are you ready to get going now?" Tomoyo asked and Sakura nodded for an answer.
Afterwards, they headed for their first location which was Tokyo Tower and what Sakura didn't know was Tomoyo has organised a big surprise for her. Arriving at their destination, they decided on using the elevators to reach the observation floor and then something happened.
"Happy Birthday!" Everybody shouted.
"H-How'd this even happen?" Sakura enquired whiles fighting tears of joy and getting celebratory hugs from her friends.
"I wanted to surprise you and somehow I booked this whole building for your 18th birthday. On the other hand, you'd probably forgotten all about your birthday with so many things happening over the last few days?" Tomoyo acknowledged and Sakura replied with "Yeah! I'd completely forgot it was my 18th birthday today."
Afterwards, Tomoyo asked her friends to go towards the windows and were surprised when fireworks just started exploding within many different ways and colours. They couldn't help but enjoy the fireworks and Sakura asked how Tomoyo paid for everything?
"It was challenging because of doing multiple part-time jobs throughout our school holidays and helping around my parents mansion to help get the money required. That's how I managed to arrange the fireworks display and book this place for your birthday. Also, it'd taking me ages to get everything organised without your knowing and I wanted to spend all of it for the women I love so much." Tomoyo answered.
Hearing that response from Tomoyo, Sakura quickly kissed her and making all their friends say "Wonderful!" from what they're seeing now.
"Ready to get this party started?" Naoko wondered.
Over the next couple of hours, everyone had a good time singing karaoke, chatting among themselves, enjoying the food and drink available and knowing when to go home. But the night wasn't over for our couple and leaving Tokyo Tower behind them, arrived at Kokuritsu-Kyogijo Station by having used the subway to reach their next location the Meiji Jingu Gaien Roller Blading Arena. Tomoyo had always dreamed of taking Sakura to this place because of all the positivity it was getting from locals. Walking into the reception area, they approached and politely introduced themselves to one of the receptionists working there. They proceeded to ask the pair some questions and what sized rollerblades they required?
"We'll take a size 8 and 10." Sakura answered.
The receptionist got the rollerblades they requested, handed them over to the pair and started putting them on. However, Tomoyo was having problems getting them on and with some persuasion managed to get the bloody rollerblades onto her feet.
Afterwards, they rolled onto the rink and despite some falls they're having the time of their lives. Meanwhile, Tomoyo was planning something and when Sakura wasn't paying attention, hoisted her up into the air and making it look like she's levitating within the air. Sakura couldn't help but feel nervous that Tomoyo was going to drop her whiles attempting this. That subsided and started feeling nostalgic for her instead.
"Could you put my down now?" Sakura politely asked and Tomoyo reluctantly placed her back down onto the ground.
"Didn't you enjoy my little display there?" Tomoyo wondered.
"A little heads-up would've been appreciated! However, I'll admit it was enjoyable and we better get moving as this place will be shutting soon. Probably be a good time to get of this rink now, hand the rollerblades back to the receptionist and head on home." Sakura explained and Tomoyo agreed with her lovers suggestion instantly.
Afterwards, they walked home to Roppongi Hills and during that journey, they stayed together hand-in-hand and never letting go until spotting Sakura's building within the distance.
"I'll never forget this birthday!" Sakura gestured.
"I'm happy you feel that way! However, I've got one final surprise for you and before revealing it will you close your eyes?" Tomoyo asked.
Sakura did as requested and felt something being put around her neck and when asked to open her eyes, it revealed a white gold necklace with a emerald pendent to represent her birthstone.
"I wanted to buy you something to show our relationship will never get broken by anyone." Tomoyo whispered whiles gently holding Sakura's face and wiping away tears forming in Sakura's eyes knowing she'll treasure this necklace forever. Having one final birthday kiss together and saying goodbye they walked away in opposite directions.
Turning onto her street, Tomoyo bumped into somebody and made both of them fall onto the ground. Quickly regaining her composure and getting herself back up, Tomoyo was awestruck to see Chiharu Mihara in front of her and apologised for bumping into her.
"Why are you apologising? I should've paid attention to everything going on around me. Hold on a minute, I'm probably overthinking this but I know that voice from anywhere. Would it by any chance belong to Tomoyo Daidouji or I'm going to be proved wrong here?" Chiharu enquired and her question got answered by seeing Tomoyo within her line of sight.
"It's good to see you again!" Tomoyo squealed.
"Are you expecting me to say something here? Haven't you forgotten what you did to me a few years ago?" Chiharu rudely gestured and leaving Tomoyo surprised by her altered personality.
"What are you talking about?" Tomoyo questioned.
"I'm talking about the whole loving "Sakura Kinomoto" thing and if you need to know, I developed feelings for you back then. However, after discovering your feelings for Sakura, our friendship was over and leaving me heartbroken afterwards. Just a quick note from me, apologising for your actions won't change anything and I'm making a vow that you'll lose everything you care about someday!" Chiharu threatened.
"Are you threatening me?" Tomoyo wondered.
"Who knows? But you'll find out soon enough!" Chiharu acknowledged before walking away and leaving Tomoyo all by herself.
"You better enjoy your engagement while it lasts. As it'll be the final time you'll love somebody and that'll be after what we're planning to do?" Chiharu devilishly thought whiles continuing her journey.
Meanwhile, Tomoyo was thinking deeply and was wondering if Chiharu just used some technique to get away from her? She knew deep-down that Chiharu wouldn't do anything horrible to anybody and pushing that thought away continued walking home.
What you all think about that? This chapter celebrated Sakura's 18th birthday and a unexpected reunion taking place in-between Chiharu and Tomoyo.
