Megatron meets Soundwave's Family.
[Rewritten 8/NOV/2024]
It was clear Megatronous had never used a ground bridge before by the hesitant way he stepped through it. Soundwave waited patiently for the mech on the other side and when he finally appeared, his optics were wide as he stared at the bright, dazzling sight that was Iacon. Soundwave waved him along.
A part of Soundwave was hesitant to introduce Megatronous to Harmonious, but her Intended had asked—had offered a dinner invite. Soundwave had passed the message along and Megatronous had happily agreed.
Thus, here they were now, walking the streets of Iacon to Soundwave's apartment building.
It had been two orbital cycles since Megatronous had first mentioned his idea for a revolution to her. Already, they had gained a collection of bots within Kaon that felt passionate about the cause. Megatronous had met a mech by the name of Orion Pax who worked as an archivist and had extensive knowledge of how the governing bodies had changed over the stellar cycles. This Orion was passionate about helping them and he and Megatronous had made quick friends.
They called this the Golden Age of Cybertron but in truth, corruption, xenophobia, and classism had never been so prevalent.
Iacon was a shining beacon compared to Koan's dark and crowded streets. That's not even mentioning the rest of Cybertron.
Soundwave led Megatronous into the building and they met no other bot as they rode the elevator up to her floor.
"You know, I don't think I've asked but how did you come to harbour ground bridge technology within your frame?" her friend asked.
"Soundwave: had ground bridge drives installed by a scientist co-worker. Designation: Shockwave. We both work at the High Pavilion in different departments. We became friends early on."
"I didn't think it was possible," he admitted. "It's such a powerful device, more finicky than warp drives in Seekers in the wrong environment."
"Shockwave: one of the highest IQ reading bots within Iacon. Ground bridge technology: once the miniature version was proven safe, I offered to be the test subject. Shockwave: only person I trust with my family's health," Soundwave explained. She had known Shockwave since she had left home. He had been one of her interviewers and, impressed with her clear intellect despite her young age, had put forth a recommendation.
She would not have her job had it not been for him. Soundwave did not like to admit it, but Shockwave had been a creator figure she had sorely needed during that time. While Shockwave was also slightly out of whack when it came to social interactions, there was no denying he cared by how he showed it.
Soundwave opened the door to her unit, her mechlings rushing to greet her.
"Carrier!" Frenzy threw himself into her arms and she chuckled, settling him on her hip.
On the other hand, Rumble latched onto her spare servo, peering up at Megatronous nervously excited. "Hi."
Megatronous smiled down at him. "Hello, by the blue frame, you must be Rumble."
Rumble beamed. "I am!"
"And I'm Frenzy!" said bot, who sported a red frame, declared from his spot on his carrier's hip.
"Nice to meet you, I've heard plenty about you both from Soundwave."
The twins shared cheeky grins.
"Welcome home," Harmonious greeted warmly as he appeared. He offered his servo to Megatronous. "Lovely to meet, I'm Harmonious."
"Megatronous," the gladiator returned the servo shake.
Soundwave entered her home after returning Megatronous to Kaon, the door clicking closed behind her.
"That went well!" Harmonious cheered, drifting closer and Soundwave smiled, bumping her forehelm against his. "You were nervous for no reason!"
Soundwave snorted, tucking her helm beneath Harmonious' chin, servos resting on his shoulders. His own wrapped around her waist and they sway side and side. Soundwave basked in the feeling; she adored her Intended so much she couldn't put it into words.
Her mechlings had been put to bed, her beloved companions had settled down for the night in their pile of blankets and pillows.
…It had been a short while since they had interfaced…
Playfully, Soundwave brushed her digits across Harmonious' neck cables, drawing a shudder from him.
"I see how it is," he rumbled, voice dropping several octaves. She giggled, feeling the way her arousal flushed her systems.
Soundwave stepped back, grinning as she crooked her digit at him. Harmonious didn't hesitate to follow after her.
