And now, the next chapter of Ash and Starfire's journey. Here, I'm putting in not only anime references, but also references to the original Pokemon games. You'll see what they are as the story goes along.
It was not too long after Ash, Starfire and their two Pokemon friends were seen travelling together as Ash had finished up his recent story when a short freak storm started to take shape. Thankfully, Clefairy was able to use her fingers to procure a small screen hanging above the four to keep them from being hit by the rain. Ash considered himself quite thankful that he came across this girl with the Clefairy, and was most thankful for the Clefairy for helping him out with the rain, considering his backpack didn't contain an umbrella. Then again, considering his mother had packed a few things in his backpack, there wasn't quite enough time to grab the umbrella.
Still, after traveling for a while, the four decided to just hang out at a dry spot underneath a tree on the side of the path as the Light Screen quickly wore out its welcome. By that time, Starfire was sharing HER story about HOW she ended up here, which started to intrigue Ash's curiosity… and as Starfire's story concluded, Ash was staring in awe.
"Wait, you mean to tell me that you actually came from… up in space?" Ash asked as he pointed towards the sky.
"Indeed. I am from the planet Tamaran, where our species live together in peace and harmony." Starfire sighed as she laid her head against the tree. "It was a very peaceful place until the Gordonians attacked." Starfire nodded.
"Gordonians?" Ash asked, looking rather confused at the name before pulling out his red Pokedex.
"Data on 'Gordonians' not found." The red device said in a mechanical voice.
Starfire could only stare at the device in confusion, before shaking her head. "I do not believe that these Gordonians are considered 'Pokemon'. I am not sure WHAT they are, but they were threats who have currently enslaved my planet. I was currently a slave to them, trapped inside. I managed to escape thanks to a little help from Clefairy here."
"And I am proud of that!" Clefairy smirked as she did a heroic pose, causing Pikachu to look up a little bit weary as he gave a small laugh.
"You're too proud of that." Pikachu stated the obvious.
Ash paused as he looked up in concern. "Uh, should I or anybody be concerned about these… Gordonians coming here to find you?"
Starfire paused briefly as she looked down. "Part of me is worried, but from what Clefairy has told me, they're not even in the same space we are. So… I'm not even sure how far it is from MY home planet…"
Ash looked over towards Starfire's sad face, contemplating everything that was being told to him. "So… in other words, you're not really a Pokemon trainer like I am."
"No, sorry. I just found out about my, uh… situation myself." Starfire sighed.
"Well… do you need help getting back home?" Ash asked.
Starfire looked over to Ash's face in surprise, before giving a small smile. "Thank you, but even if I could, the last time I saw my family was when my planet had surrendered themselves. Even if I could go back, what are the chances I run into the Gordonians again? Maybe it would be best if I stick around here for a while… and if they do try to come here to find me… I… I don't know what to do…"
Ash paused briefly as he snapped his fingers. "We should probably tell somebody! I know Professor Oak might know a few professors or researchers that might look into space and planets. Once we find a place for Pikachu to get healed up, I'll see if I can call him up and-"
Starfire looked worried as she grabbed Ash's hand, stopping him from getting up. "No, wait, Ash? Uh… I do not believe it would be wise if people learned that I was an alien escapee."
"Why not? I-" Ash started to protest, before pausing. "Oh… yeah, I guess if I said all that, people would just look at me like I have a second head on or something… and just seeing what has happened so far… it's been a little screwy…"
The beautiful red haired girl paused as she looked over at Ash. "I appreciate you want to help me, but I do not believe it wise until a more proper time. If that makes any sense."
Ash paused lightly as he looked down and frowned. He didn't really like that idea, but knew that Starfire would prefer her way, so he decided it was best to follow her lead. "All right, I won't say a word. But if you're going to stay on Earth, you need to at least be a Pokemon trainer, or at least act like one. I've heard tales that it's not safe to go out into routes or tall grass without a Pokemon by your side."
"I don't think she'll have a problem if you've seen her in action!" Clefairy gave a slight chuckle to herself, causing Starfire to shush the pink Pokemon.
Ash blinked twice as he cocked his head in confusion. "Why did you just shush your Clefairy?"
"No reason. She is being the cheeky. But you are indeed correct. Seeing as Clefairy is my new guide for this place, maybe she can be like, my Pokemon for a while?" Starfire said as she looked over at Clefairy. "Would you like to do that?"
"Considering I'm stuck with you for a while, sure." Clefairy shrugged. "Besides, I think it'll be fun to kick some Pokemon butt!"
With that, Clefairy started to do some heroic fighting moves as she waved her arms around, causing Starfire and the weak Pikachu to give some small laughs. Ash just looked in confusion as he scratched his head. "You must really have good synergy with Clefairy if you've already made a connection… Well, once we get to a hospital, I'll see if maybe Professor Oak can send over some items to help… like some PokeBalls to get more Pokemon and a Pokedex. I don't know about other traveling items like clothes or whatnot, since you came in with the helmet and that…"
Starfire paused as she looked herself over, frowning a bit as she was reminded that she was still wearing the slave costume that bound her to the Gordonians. "Well, thankfully, I won't have these on for long…"
As Starfire spoke her sentence, the rain started to let up as the sun started to peek over the afternoon sky as she gave a gasp. "Wow… I never realized how nice the sky is from the trees."
Ash, Pikachu and Clefairy looked out as the Pokemon trainer smiled. "It is nice, isn't it?"
The four sat down silently before hearing a trilling sound. Immediately, the four looked up as they noticed a large red and white bird flying over the horizon whilst glowing a golden like color as it flew over a rainbow.
"Whoa…" Ash said in awe as he pulled out his Pokedex. "What IS that?"
"There is no data. There are still Pokemon yet to be identified." Ash's Pokedex said before blinking off.
Starfire blinked twice as she looked over towards the small device in Ash's hands. "I take it that THIS is a Pokedex?"
Ash gave a swift nod. "Professor Oak's own invention. It helps record any and all Pokemon that I come across. Along with catching Pokemon and becoming the world's Pokemon master, I also have to collect data on any Pokemon I find. Catching is a good option, but just finding them in general helps fill the Pokedex out."
"Ohhhh…" Starfire said as she looked up at the sky.
"Pika…" Pikachu coughed a little weakly as Ash looked down and scooped it up.
"Don't worry, buddy. We'll get to the next town. Hopefully we don't have to walk too far…" Ash said as he started to walk off. "Starfire, Clefairy, are you coming?"
"Yes, we are." Starfire nodded as Clefairy hopped on her shoulder and the red haired Tamareanean began to follow.
As the two left the area, the sound of a bike was heard squeaking alongside the path as an orange haired girl in a yellow shirt and blue shorts held by two straps came cycling in.
"I could have sworn I heard voices…" The orange haired girl said quietly to herself, before giving a sigh. "Well, I can't just worry about voices. I better get back to fishing…"
With that, the girl turned her bike back as she started to head for a river that she was using to fish not too long ago…
It wasn't too long of a walk as human, alien and two Pokemon reached the entrance to the first city as Ash looked up in awe.
"Here we are. Viridian City. The Eternal Green Paradise." Ash said as he and Starfire entered through the city. "I would love to explore the city, but we have to get Pikachu over to the hospital. He looks better, but those Spearows really did quite a number on him…"
Starfire paused as she patted the boy on the back. "It's okay, Ash, we'll get through this…"
Ash took a deep breath before looking back at Starfire… before giving a nod. "All right, so what's the plan?"
"Well, I don't want to slow you down, so why don't you go ahead of me and Clefairy and find a hospital for your little friend?" Starfire said. "If I'm going to journey with you, I want at least a good set of clothes to follow alongside you."
Ash paused as he looked nervous, before giving a nod and pulling out some money. "All right. I'll give you a thousand Poke dollars. Mom packed in quite a couple thousand. Figured I would need help in buying any material I would need along the way. And right now, I think you'll need the money more than me."
Starfire nodded as she took the money from Ash's hand as Ash continued. "When you're done, meet me over at the hospital if Pikachu and I aren't out by then…"
"Okay. We'll see you soon!" Starfire said as she watched Ash run off with Pikachu in his arms. Starfire paused briefly as she turned to Clefairy. "Okay, Clefairy, it's clear I'll be staying here for the time being, so… do you have any suggestions on what to do?"
"Girl, you just KNOW that going out in that sort of gear you're wearing? People might see you as a threat, considering the head gear." Clefairy frowned as she crossed her arms.
Starfire paused briefly as she momentarily noticed a small pan hanging out from a nearby window, showing her reflection. Starfire frowned as she looked at the girl staring straight at her… before wincing a bit. "I do look like a monster, don't I?"
"Sweetie, no. No, you don't. You just need a little touch up, is all. Come on, maybe there's a clothing store somewhere…" Clefairy said as she hopped on Starfire's shoulder.
Starfire took a deep breath as she decided to take a look around the city. As she walked through the streets of Viridian City, she noticed that the city, while not quite as populated with people, it was still quite a busy area if one knew where to look, with a couple houses stationed on the street, a school located on the far end, and a few other buildings. At one point, Starfire decided in her best interest to walk over to the other side of town, only to find an old man laying on the side of the road.
"Excuse me, but-" Starfire started to say as she looked down at the old man.
The old man frowned as he waved his right hand towards the young teenage girl. "Nobody gets past this area, not no way, not no how! This is private property, missy!"
Starfire backed away with a little shock in her eyes. "Uh, I'm sorry, I was only asking for directions to the near-"
"OFF WITH YA, YA HARLOT! NOBODY GETS PAST THIS PLACE, NOT NO WAY, NOT NO HOW!" The old man shouted.
Starfire yelped as Clefairy narrowed her eyes. "Oh no, this man did NOT just call you a harlot! You want I should just blast the man to oblivion? Or better yet, use your eye lasers to shoot him down!"
"I'm sure he's just confused, that's all…" Starfire said before turning back to the old man. "I only wan-"
"GET LOST! THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY! NOBODY GETS PAST HERE, NOT NO WAY, NOT NO HOW!" The old man shouted.
Starfire frowned as her eyes started to glow, thoughts of incinerating the old man that shouted at her rushed through her mind…
"Grandpa! Seriously!"
The red haired teenager's eyes started to fade as she and Clefairy noted a young woman with blonde hair and a white dress approaching the old man and sighed. "Come on, get off the side of the road, and we'll get you your coffee…" She looked up at the two as she sighed, "I'm terribly sorry about Grandpa. He always acts like this and never thinks rationally without his coffee."
Starfire cocked her head in confusion. "Coffee?"
"Yes. Without a cup of coffee in his hand, Grandpa's always cranky and threatening people. Needless to say, he's a little bit… surly." The woman sighed, before looking up. "Anyway, I'm Hinata, this is my home. Do you need anything?"
"Uh, yes. I'm, uh, sort of new here, and am the… interested in starting a Pokemon journey?" Starfire explained. "But I do not believe I have the right clothes."
Hinata blinked twice before looking over Starfire's clothes. "Yeah, I don't think wandering around looking like a stone faced warrior is going to win you any fans… I know there's a samurai who lives deep in Viridian Forest not too far from here, but he's just a trainer who likes to take you by surprise. I think he's just a cosplayer who happens to live in the forest."
Starfire blinked twice as she bit her lip. "You don't say…"
"Always likes to challenge newbie trainers that are just starting out. If you ever go into the Virdian Forest, go through the trees, NOT the clear paths." Hinata said as she turned to her Clefairy. "Though considering your Fairy type, maybe you won't have an issue."
Starfire cocked her head in confusion. "Fairy?" She shook her head. "Never mind. Thanks for the advice. But I'm trying to look for a clothing store to suit my tastes. Do you know where there's one that's still open?"
Hinata looked over at the red haired girl and nodded. "Sure. Take a right and a left, you can't miss it. It's a small department store, but it's very convenient if you're going to get new duds. By the way, maybe it be best if you get your Clefairy into its PokeBall before anything else. There's been reports of Pokemon thieves in the area."
"Pokemon thieves?" Starfire asked as she looked at Clefairy nervously.
"Yeah, there's been a few rounds of thieves running around town, catching trainers or innocents by surprise and swiping their Pokemon." Hinata sighed. "It's truly horrible, but what can you do? Anyway, I better get my grandfather off the road and get him his coffee. Hey, if you're still in the neighborhood, I hope we can talk."
"Uh, sure." Starfire smiled as she bowed her head. "I thank you, Hinata. I am who they call… Starfire."
Hinata laughed a bit as Starfire kept Clefairy close as she waved her off… before looking back towards her grandfather, who was still ranting and raving about shooing anybody away from his 'private property'. The young woman sighed before leaning down to lift her stubborn grandfather to his feet.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN, SHE DISAPPEARED! NOBODY JUST 'DISAPPEARS'!"
Trogaar winced as he was currently on a call with a figure that looked similar to Starfire, with the only keen differences being she had black hair and a black revealing outfit with silver armor around her body, who looked at him with an angry face. "I'm just as upset as you are. Nobody disappears, and yet, that pink creature that took our slave took her away. We thought that they went to the nearest planet, but she wasn't even there…"
"And what happened on THAT planet, dare I ask?" The woman frowned in anger.
Trogaar frowned. "Hey, we threatened that planet and would have blown it to smithereens just to locate the girl, if those four teeangers hadn't stepped in and destroyed the ship. You would NOT believe how those four WORKED so well together… we had no choice but to retreat after figuring out that our slave wasn't even ON that planet."
The black haired girl frowned as she crossed her arms. "Well, I'm not giving you ANOTHER one of my people, not after everything that went my way! Getting rid of my goody two shoes sister should have been a snap, and ruling over my planet with an iron fist should have been simple… but no! You just had to screw it up!"
Trogaar growled in anger. "Listen, girl, we did what you asked, and we helped you in conquering your OWN planet, and destroying not only your royal parents, but taking your sister away for a prize. We could easily come back here and destroy you…"
"Could you? Could you really?" The black haired girl frowned as she gave a small smirk. "Did you not think I would keep a failsafe in case you decided to double cross me? Let me tell you something I neglected to tell you…"
Trogaar frowned as he narrowed his eyes at the screen. "What are you talking about?"
The girl gave a light chuckle. "Come on now, did you REALLY think I wouldn't try to double cross you, in the event you tried to double cross me? I put a small timebomb inside your ship that at any moment now, with a press of my thumb, your main ship will explode, leaving no survivors… including yourself."
Trogaar's eyes widened in shock as he narrowed his eyes. "You wouldn't da-"
BEEP.
The alien's mouth slowly started to die down on its sounds the minute it heard that mechanical beeping noise as the girl gave a smirk. "Three. Two. One."
Before the Gordonian leader could have time to react, a loud explosion was heard as it engulfed the entire area, with the screen on the other end going static as Trogaar let out one last word.
"BLACKFIRE!"
Blackfire gave a dark chuckle to herself before hanging up the phone from her spaceship and giving a sigh… before frowning. "Well, that was fun and all, but my sister is still out there, and if she comes here, she'll ruin my plans…" She gave a sigh as she held her head. "Well, I suppose I have no choice but to search through space for her… even if I have to comb the galaxy…"
With that, Blackfire started to float over to the driver's position in her ship as she went inside and put her hand on a scanner. "This is Blackfire calling for the ship. Search for my sister… she's going to pay the ultimate price…"
Blackfire could only sit down as she felt the ship moving before grabbing onto the steering wheel as the ship started to drift forward in space, before blasting away, leaving an imprint in the sky… one way or another, Blackfire was going to find her "dear, dear" sister… and humiliate and destroy her…
Second chapter is complete. Next time, we'll be focusing on some aspects of the second Pokemon episode, while Starfire comes in with a brand new look... and Ash helps Starfire set up for her Pokemon journey ahead! Until next time.
