Shura was some kind of fiend, Rin was sure of it. Her control and casual assurance of the situation of having someone else being able to see humans was unreal. Her amused grin as the two archangels argued was equally justified and unsettling.

"Ariel did not know of Rin," Raphael argued. His wings betraying a higher level of irritation than his cold tone would suggest.

"Rin was reported. Ariel becomes too devoted to whatever assignment is occuring at the time. Besides, I was told you were Earthbound in a demon hunt. So why are you hovering so much around her?" Metatron gestured to Shura.

"I could ask the same of you Metatron."

"God has allowed me to be his guardian angel. As I am sure you are well aware of."

Rin hadn't seen Metatron look so irritated since well, the last time they ran into Samael.

Raphael didn't look like he was faring much better as he seemed to be in a sour mood as well.

"Shura is one of the most aggressive exorcists I have run into. And despite her upbringing, has proved a useful ally."

"Love you too angel face," Shura giggled. Before Raphael could respond the doors opened with dramatic flair revealing an all too tense Arthur Angel.

"Your time is up Shura."

"Boo!" Shura yelled at the blond in irritation. "That was barely anytime at all!"

"Be thankful you were given anytime at all." Angel responded hotly. He walked over to the two and seperated Shura from Rin, standing in a way that reminded Rin of a guard dog. Fierce and protective to a fault of whatever he decided was his. Sadly, Rin fell into the category by the overzealous demon hating man. If only the blond knew...

"Rin prefers me teaching him baldy."

"He does not!" Angel argued, "Rin is a good boy! He would not favor your unscrupulous methods."

"He makes you sound like a dog," Metatron dryly commented, settling near Rin. His glare darting between Raphael and Caliburn. His wings lightly fluffing and puffing out. Shura gave a wolfish grin at the comment.

"Did you just compare Rin to a dog?"

Angel glared at her as Raphael sighed.

"I did not! I just know Rin is better than one sullied by your inappropriate dress and attitude."

Rin's eyes sparkled with mischief.

"Do not judge or you will be judged, Mathew 7:1."

Angel sputtered as Rin gave an innocent appearing grin.

"I have nothing that would be unfavorable."

Rin kept going, "Be merciful, just as your father is merciful, Luke 6:36."

"Rin, this is not about mercy it is about fact- Stop laughing!" Angel yelled at Shura.

"You therefore have no excuse, you who pass judgment on another. For on whatever grounds you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things, Romans 2:1."

Angel huffed. Rin rarely used his knowledge of the bible in his training, as both worked with swords. So it was a little jarring to have his words accused by the same words that vanquished demons. Especially ones that worked against him trying to keep Rin on the straight and narrow. Rin didn't add anymore as the two had stopped arguing over who Rin would perfer as a teacher.

He doubted saying Michael would be a good idea.

Instead he allowed himself to be led out of the room to get lunch, with Metatron following and Raphael burning holes in the back of his head from his intense glare.

Yukio was not having a good day. Or week. Or month. Rin's disappearance was highly concerning and was now actually noted as a missing person's case with the police. He prayed Rin was alright. Or if not alright, at least alive and with someone human. Human monstrosities would be easier to comfort him over, than explaining how they knew about demons and having to overcome any betrayl Rin would feel in addition to whatever occured.

Least of all, he didn't want Rin dead. His smiley, dopey, food-loving, and overprotective older brother. His eyes began to prick in a familiar manner.

He slid his glasses off and quickly wiped his eyes. Crying would get him nowhere. Crying wouldn't help him find Rin. Nor would it help him prepare the young exorcists.

Rin. His ever protective brother. It was his turn to save him. And nothing was going to stop him.

A soft buzzing came from his phone. With a groan and a proffesional level of stoicsim, he answered it.

"Hello?"

There was muffled noise he couldn't readily identify. He looked at his phone to see an unknown number with a sigh, he went to end the call. As his finger touched the button he heard someone yell, "That is not soup!"

Yukio's hand clenched in surprise, pressing the end call and ending the call all too soon. That had been Rin's voice. His brother. He was still alive. His heart burned with a fiery passion. Rin was okay. Or at least, okay enough to complain about soup. His brother did have odd priorities when it came to food. More importantly, who was the unknown caller? His stomach filled with ice as he thought about the people who would have his number.

Exorcists.

He wasted no time in sending out a call. He listened to it ring, growing more impatient with each tone. Finally, he heard a voice.

"Ermf. Hello?"

"Dad. It's me."

"Hello me I'm dad," Fujimoto responded, sounding incredibly tired over the phone. Yukio had no doubt he had had minimal rest since the discovery of Rin's disappearance.

"How many exorcists have access to my phone number?"

"...Why?"

"I believe one of them may have Rin-"

"Explain." The tone was quiet but demanding. Fatigue vanished from his voice.

"I recieved a call from an unknown number. I heard Rin's voice over the call."

"Are you sure it was Rin?"

"He was complaining about soup. I could hear him clear as day."

"That's good. But concering. I'll look into it. Ugh... now I'll have to try even harder to avoid Arthur's apprentice."

"Dad?" Yukio asked.

"Ah. It's nothing. Well, not nothing. A new, blessed exorcist of all things has shown up and gotten everyone's attention within the vatican."

"A blessed individual?"

"According to Arthur's blade at least."

"Hm."

"I'll call you when I learn something. Or when I miss you."

"Dad!" Yukio whined. Fujimoto chuckled at his youngest's childish whine.

"Love you son!"

"Love you too dad," Yukio responded. Then there was only a click of the call ending. Yukio placed the phone in his pocket and went back to grading the papers of his students. They weren't going to grade themselves. And he wasn't going to give anyone else a clue that something was wrong, be it exorcist based or not.

Shura didn't know if her message went through or not. It was hard trying to hide her phone and get wheat she believed to be a loud enough statement to maybe be recognized.

Strange for all things considered since the loudest comment was on soup of all things. She nearly bust a gut laughing seeing Rin trying to barge into the kitchen to make something "edible for a change". Angel was practically restraining Rin from taking over the kitchen.

"Let me go!"

"Stop trying to attack the kitchen help!"

"I'm trying to make the food better!"

"Eat your soup!"

"That is not soup."

"It is now eat!"

With that, Arthur forced Rin back into his seat. Rin grumbled and crossed his arms, Metatron tapping him lightly on the back. Rin grumbled, then without tact or grace, picked up his bowl and began to devour it as quickly as he could, pouring it down his throat.

"Rin! Stop that!"

Rin slammed the bowl back on the table, now devoid of soup. He gave a dramatic shutter and placed his head on the table.

"Ugh, I will never complain about dad's cooking again," Rin groaned in apparent agony. Shura snorted. Shiro was certainly no master chef. And Rin clearly agreed. Still it was funny to hear him admit it when she knew who he was talking about.

This story now has a Christmas Eve update chapter. Yay. Enjoy the holidays everyone!
