Chapter 6!
More of this fic cause I need it and have a lot already drafted for it. Tons of dialogue mainly and also because I need to put certain parts up before others so it makes more sense and flows better.
Enjoy, more notes at the end!
Trio
*Kinoko POV*
"Good to go you two!" Kinoko yelled up to her two friends.
Standing in the middle of the school rooftop, Kinoko sent a thumbs up to Tsuburaba and Midoriya who were on top of the roof access with their instruments. The greenette was sitting on the edge with her euphonium while the brown haired boy stood just beside her with his trumpet at the ready. Today was going to be a duet, something Kinoko herself had asked them to do, and as her two friends got ready to play she simply stood there and waited for them in thought. The pair took a synchronized breath and the sounds washed over Kinoko while a warm chill crawled along her body.
"So beautiful," she whispered to herself as she listened to the duo play.
Even if they were in the same club, Kinoko knew that her passion and tastes for instruments didn't reach the same level as Tsuburaba and Midoriya. What with her dream of being an idol hero, Kinoko's skill at playing the keyboard and guitar was more secondary to her vocals and dancing though she still found it a good practice and tool for her overall goals.
Tsuburaba was the one who had drawn them together, ecstatic at the thought of performing even casually alongside them, and his love of his many brass and woodwind instruments was always a joy to see. On the other side of things, playing her instrument was one of the only times that Midoriya appeared wholeheartedly serious while also having a soft look of peaceful content. Most of the time she held a certain aloofness, with the odd playfully dry barb or flat delivery conversation, but Kinoko found more of the other girl's sincerity when the three met up to perform.
Sure the shorter girl loved practicing and playing with them but the two really did make an almost perfect pair for duets. They performed off one another so well and their sounds harmonized in a way unique to them. Even as an observer, Kinoko could understand their feelings towards playing and towards each other just through their sound. It wasn't romantic but neither of them cared, they still had a special kind of closeness with one another. Right here, as their duet reached its climax, Kinoko felt as if she was looking in from the outside. She watched over them, her eyes getting a bit misty from the emotions laced within the song, and she noted the peace and joy in both Tsuburaba and Midoriya's expressions. It couldn't be stated more but...
They were just incredible.
The duet calmly came to an end but Kinoko was just so transfixed with the feelings that had come over her and her own thoughts that she remained in place. She wondered if that hadn't made her feel a touch lonely or even a bit jealous yet she couldn't help but admire the pair. Really they...
"Komori!" a voice cheered loudly and Kinoko snapped out of her stupor, blinking her eyes as she regained herself, before refocusing on the boy who had called her.
Tsuburaba had a great grin plastered on his face and even Midoriya held a soft smile from her seat beside him while Kinoko stared upwards in surprise. The trumpet player chuckled to himself as he waved her over.
"Get up here, we can't start the next one without you!" he exclaimed and Kinoko gained a silly but uncontrollable grin.
"Right!" she laughed.
Tsuburaba and Midoriya were a special one of a kind duo.
But the three of them were 1-B's Instrumental Club.
[The Instrumental Club. Tsuburaba Kosei, Midoriya Izumi, and Komori Kinoko band together to perform in solo, duet, or trio for any who'd care to listen.]

A Matter of Perspective
*Pony POV*
"Does this look strange to you?" Kaibara suddenly muttered and Pony, alongside Monoma, stared at the couches and table in the lounge.
"Now that you mention it," the horned girl noted suspiciously, "yeah, it does."
"However, I can't place what," Monoma hummed lowly, standing beside them as they all continued to inspect the furniture.
"It's kind of driving me crazy," the other boy admitted, squinting his eyes as if it would help, and Pony folded her arms with a frown.
"Something is definitely wrong but there's also a sense that nothing is," she grumbled, more put off than she should be, but the trio still could find no fault here.
It was a bit later in the night at the dorms and many of the students had already retired to their own rooms but as members of the Prankster's Club, Pony, Monoma, and Kaibara were primed for some harmless fun. Well, Pony and Monoma were but they had dragged along Kaibara per usual, both for fun and as a detector due to his observational skills. However, the reason they needed a detector was because, despite being in the same club, all of them also targeted each other at times and the biggest culprit of that was their missing member, Midoriya.
The tall greenette left pranks hidden all over the dorms with little care for when they succeeded or if they were even noticed so it was completely random. However, given the rest of their own penchants for pranks, the three others were often the ones to stumble upon Midoriya's land mines of trickery.
The group continued standing about and surveying the scene, unable to discern what was different about it, but their final member strolled in, eyed them with a hint of curiosity, and gave a lazy visual sweep of the area. Striding over, Midoriya stood beside them with a hum before crossing her arms and thinking as she continued studying the furniture. The greenette then raised a hand and pointed a finger as they watched her.
"The couches are aligned slightly differently," Midoriya informed abruptly and Pony and the boys swiftly scrutinized the detail.
"Yeah, you're right!" the blonde girl exclaimed. "Usually the table ends are aligned with the opposite couch arms," she remembered while Kaibara nodded.
"Fresh eyes I guess," he shrugged while directing the attention back to Midoriya who mumbled.
"Well, I did do it yesterday," the fox girl revealed completely seriously without so much as acknowledging that she just confessed to being the culprit and Pony felt her shoulders drop.
"Yesterday?! Seriously?" she loudly groaned which got Midoriya's expressionless face to turn towards her.
"No," she denied but Pony grumbled while Monoma coughed lightly.
"So longer back," the blonde boy stated and Midoriya grunted in confirmation as Kaibara gave a mix of a chuckle and a sigh.
"So basically you got us again," the dark haired boy said with a resigned but amused look and Midoriya fished something out of her pocket.
"In return for the trouble you can look at my baby pictures," she transitioned unexpectedly, holding up her phone and going through some photos, yet Pony was unamused.
"Those are just baby red foxes," she stated but the absurdity of Midoriya's action forced a bare smile from her.
"No, these are me," Midoriya insisted, changing to the same set of pictures but now showing black fur instead, "see, I edited them."
"How long have you had these ready?" Monoma smirked, likely also finding Midoriya's weird joke a bit funny.
"Years," she spoke plainly and Kaibara loosed another sigh.
"Midoriya..." he trailed off as she shrugged.
"It's a recurring joke," the greenette noted and at that the trio couldn't help but giggle and snicker.
"You're really as mischievous as a fox," Monoma had to say and a sudden thought hit Pony.
"What other kitsune like things can you do?" she wondered towards the fox girl. "Could you change into other people? Or make illusions?" she questioned with growing excitement while Midoriya's fox ears twitched.
"If I live another 600 years maybe," she stated, scratching at her head. "I should have 9 tails by that point," Midoriya relayed but the trio was still processing her words.
"A-another?" Pony stuttered in disbelief.
"Are you saying you're...actually like 200 years old?" Kaibara attempted as the tall girl nodded along.
"Umu," Midoriya agreed, "216 I think."
Pony wasn't sure what to say, especially since Midoriya appeared perfectly upfront and serious, but at the same time there was just no way. The two boys were clearly in the same boat as her and an awkward silence settled between the group before Monoma spoke up.
"You've got to be tricking us again," he said with certainty and the fox girl's eyes seemed to light up uncharacteristically.
"Ohhh," Midoriya clapped, obviously feigning praise, and the other three almost staggered from the sarcasm.
"Don't act so surprised!" Kaibara retorted, answering for all of them, as Midoriya's neutral face returned.
"I actually moved the table instead of the couches," the greenette slipped in and Pony, Kaibara, and Monoma looked at her with slack jaws and blinking eyes as they tried comprehending what she just dropped on them.
"Let's just leave it like that," Kaibara murmured in defeat, already getting on his way.
"Someone else can be bothered by it," Pony assured, also following in her classmate's wake, and Midoriya left them with a soft good night as she went off for her own business.
They were never gonna best her.
[The Prankster's Club. Monoma Neito, Kaibara Sen, Tsunotori Pony, and Midoriya Izumi find ways to amuse themselves at the harmless expenses of others. Even if said others are their fellow members.]
Notes and Stuff
The song they played was Kumiko and Reina's duet from 'Sound! Euphonium' ep. 8.
Expect mischief from Izumi now that I can do more kitsune stuff with her. I like the idea that she plays a lot of harmless pranks but tends to completely forget about them so now they're basically land mines in the dorms.
On another note, Izumi is 16 like the others and I have reasons for why she has 3 tails. It won't be some big reveal that impacts anything but I do have an explanation for why.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
