Chapter 11!

I figured some characters hadn't gotten enough focus so let's change that here.

Enjoy, more notes at the end!

Introspection #1

*Sen POV*

Sen knew that he was one of the most observant people in the class but he also was pretty self aware of his passive nature.

He noticed lots of things but he hardly ever did anything about them to any degree. Sometimes he didn't think it was his place, others he didn't really have an answer, and every so often he simply didn't mind or care that much.

That passive part of him didn't only apply there however. He wasn't one to reach out first and it didn't exactly bother him to not be included because of that. He was content with just being on the sideline most all the time and even when it came to heroics he didn't need to be in the thick of things. Maybe that was why he had been taken with photography. Not because of his keen eyes but instead because he was not part of what he saw and captured. He was removed from the things he witnessed and only ever viewed them from elsewhere. Sen figured that would be how he and the class would have been throughout their time together.

Yet the 1-B students dragged him right along with them.

They drew him into their antics, made him worried when they did something stupid, asked his thoughts and wanted his inputs. So that instead he was part of it rather than looking in from the outside. He had never purposefully built a wall between himself and others but he just never tried to get close. He had just coasted through his own life but they showed him that there was so much more that he could do and have. Sen looked in from outside.

But now he knew he'd always have a place to belong.

*Itsuka POV*

Itsuka was not capable of everything.

She had shortcomings, things she didn't know or wasn't good with, and she still needed to ask questions or learn things. She had worries and fears, bad days and worse days, and needed help through them. Itsuka was not invincible.

But she wanted to be.

She wanted to be capable of anything, to be the one doing the supporting, and it had hurt her as she slowly came to terms that this childish desire of hers simply wasn't possible. She had been this way for a long time now but this want of hers had only grown as she melded more with 1-B. Itsuka was THEIR big sister and they were HER responsibility. They had expectations of her, looked straight to her for the way when they were lost, and she couldn't betray those feelings. Itsuka had to be that person and she tried with all her might to be perfect for them because if she wasn't then what did she bring?

That was what she had thought but in reality it was her who had misunderstood them.

It had taken a small conversation between her and Yanagi to realize it and Itsuka recounted the words. They had been doing something trivial, studying for a simple quiz, but Itsuka had gotten engrossed in her notes. Notes that she later realized she was creating for the others rather than herself and Yanagi eventually broke through her disorderly thoughts.

"Kendo, you may cease in trying to be perfect," the gray haired girl had said suddenly and Itsuka herself had frozen at the serious words.

"What do you mean?" she questioned in utter confusion and the other student turned an almost sad eye to her.

"Rather than expecting things of you as if to demand," Yanagi began, already putting Itsuka on edge for being realized, before choosing her words as to not be misconstrued. "In truth we all simply trust and look up to you," she explained but Itsuka still had not been ready to accept that.

"Yanagi, I-" she tried but the other girl gently raised a hand to stop her.

Yanagi then took that hand and gently placed it down beside one of Itsuka's while just barely touching their pinkies together. The two of them looked one another in the eye and Itsuka silently waited with baited breath for her friend to start speaking again.

"You will not betray our trust just because you cannot accomplish something," she stated assuredly, leaving no room for retort. "You do not need to change but remember to let the reason for doing something be yourself rather than us," she kindly reminded and Itsuka felt like a weight had just fallen from her shoulders.

She had never been anything but free.

*Yui POV*

Yui was oblivious at times.

She didn't understand others well, she couldn't really read the room, and she had to have these things explained to her more often than not. She had to actively try and consider these things because she could not feel them out so they didn't cross her mind unless she forced them to. How is the other person feeling, have I misunderstood, am I at fault for something? Yui would run through a checklist when she remembered to but she tended to not voice her questions and instead contemplated them herself. Why she did that she wasn't one hundred percent sure but perhaps she worried that others would look at her strangely.

But now she had nothing to worry about.

Her classmates never chastised her for these things, things others had strictly labeled as faults, but they instead stated things clearly for her. Yui was able to ask her questions and receive answers that were honest and without any extra than just pure statement to inform her. Many of her classmates would provide this for her. From Midoriya who was the most upfront and clear for her, to Komori who helped explain other points of views for her to consider, and Kamakiri who let her know when she may have done wrong.

Yui appreciated all of her classmates very much for their understanding and willingness to explain to her. It made her know very clearly how much they valued her and that had made her quite happy. They were irreplaceable for her and she knew that she'd won some kind of special prize by meeting them.

They truly meant everything for her.

*Jurota POV*

Jurota knew that he could be distant from the others.

He preferred reading and when he interacted with his classmates he was quite cordial with them. He wasn't one to fully get in on the antics, he often only added a thing or two from the sidelines, but that did not mean that he did not care for the small individual bonds he did have.

Reading and discussing with Monoma, Juzo, and Kuroiro was something he greatly enjoyed and appreciated every minute of. Midoriya, though the two could never see eye to eye, was someone he trusted to be frank with him. It wasn't as if the two could not get along or disliked the other, it was simply that they held many opposing views and voiced that with one another without any malice. Tsunotori helped bring him of his shell through laughter and jokes that made her face hurt from how much he would smile.

That did not even account for the class as a whole.

He knew he could trust them with anything and in turn they trusted in him. He knew they would respect his space and choices and their friendships did not wane from the distance. Jurota grew just from being involved with them and he would continue to grow alongside his fellow classmates. Perhaps he didn't understand it fully, or maybe he simply lacked the words, but he was certain that one day he would find a way to tell them exactly how much their presence meant to him.

Maybe he would never be able to articulate that but something told him that they'd understand regardless.

*Kosei POV*

Kosei was greedy.

At least, that was what plenty of people had told him time and time again and he kind of got how they figured that. He wasn't someone who was willing to give up on the things he wanted to do. Be a hero? He'd do his best! Be a musician on top of that? Absolutely! If there was something that Kosei believed he wanted to do then he tried it and if he found he really wanted to do so then he'd pursue it without compromise. His parents had voiced their worry in him spreading himself too thin but they still supported his endeavors and let him make up his own mind.

He didn't want to settle for something, he wanted to choose it instead, and that was why 1-B was incredible to him.

They all had things they would not compromise or surrender on. Big or small, needing help or not, each of them had a will to accomplish their own desires and they never laughed at each other for whatever those wishes were. When Kosei had first formed the Instrumental, now Music, Club with Midoriya and Komori he was a bit worried that they wouldn't last. They weren't exactly getting the same out of the club as he was initially, even now Midoriya still didn't appear to have something to gain, but now they were as close as siblings and every step of the way they were there to accomplish one another's goals. Now, not only for himself, Kosei wanted more for his friends, for his whole class. He wanted them to reach even further, be even more ambitious, because their goals or dreams could very easily become the dream of all of them.

Because they wanted to see each other succeed and would spare no expense for that.

Kosei just couldn't get over how incredible that was.

*Kojiro POV*

Kojiro was an introvert.

He was shy and quiet, he didn't make the first move to interact, but he wanted to connect with others. It was difficult however, he could never find the words and he overthought things and felt awkward when the conversation fizzled out. Through junior high he had somewhat found a way to try by creating videos. He would make silent videos of assembling model kits and he slowly felt better with the comments he received or the small discussions he had but he still wished for more so 1-B had been a blessing for him. His classmates, each of them somewhat of an oddball in their own rights, had shared a particular trait towards each other.

It was patience. Patience with one another.

Their consideration for the others individually, both who they were and what they loved, was something that everyone in class appreciated and extended. It made Kojiro comfortable with being himself and he really couldn't have asked for more.

From the way the Quiet Club was content to share each others' presence or how the Arts Club supported his respective hobby, there was also the care he received from individuals. Shiozaki was one of the most considerate of his feelings and at times became his voice when he found himself unable to use his own. Kaibara and his watchful gaze offered a sort of net for him as the other boy observed when Kojiro could handle something or stepped in when he couldn't, all without him even needing to say so. Yanagi and Kodai sometimes helped in making his model kits and were genuinely interested in learning about his hobby.

He received so much from them but he also knew that they would never demand something back from him.

Kojiro could be exactly who he was with them.

*Neito POV*

Neito wanted to stand at the front.

It was a strange thing to say and many would fail to understand what he even meant, let alone what that meant to him, but 1-B understood it. They could argue and joke, reign him in when they felt he was getting ahead of himself, but they never dismissed his deep desire to shine in the spotlight. They would follow his lead, rally the others for his cause, fall back when he needed to stand alone, and above all they did not judge him unfairly.

Neito wanted to be the lead but he once thought that his quirk would not allow that and his desire at times bested him but his classmates had instead chosen to offer up their roles, what made them unique, so that he might steal the show. Midoriya in particularly often asked him to copy her quirk. She was content to be in the background and support all while believing that he was the best to take the main stage.

Perhaps she knew what it meant to him but perhaps she didn't.

He preferred to believe in the latter. Because that meant that she saw him as special, someone worthy to standout, and that was the greatest thought in the world to him. That someone believed him capable of such a feat. That someone as great as Midoriya looked to him and said, 'That is who I want' when there were so many others to choose from. She offered schemes and plays when they worked together and they all hinged on him being the star and even greater the class all believed it was for the best.

Neito wanted to stand at the front.

And he could because many people stood at his back.

*Izumi POV*

...

...

...

"Make up your mind..."

"Make up your mind..."

"Make up your mind..."

"Make up your mind. Make up your mind. Make up your mind. Make up your mind. Make up your mind. Make up your mind. Make up your mind. Make up your mind..."

Izumi was quiet.

Notes and Stuff

This was actually really enjoyable to write and I'll definitely do this for the rest of the 1-B characters as we continue along.

I figured we should get in their heads a little more and build a little on their individual thoughts about the class and their own personal struggles or such. It also felt like a great way to give more content to characters in a more focused manner or give characters that I haven't given enough writing time to yet.

Did I sandbag how this chapter ended in these notes? Yes I did.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
