Chapter 12!

I'm getting back into gear after some really frustrating setbacks that I'll cover later.

Enjoy, more notes at the end!

*Kosei POV*

He had been pacing back and forth for what felt like an hour.

He was way more nervous than he probably had any right to be and he could feel his friends' gazes on him. It wasn't going to be that different than normal but he just couldn't help but get worked up and Kosei stomped a foot and stopped himself in place while directing himself towards the others. The pair stared at him, one bored and the other mildly annoyed, and Kosei clapped his hands together with a bow.

"Please keep me from making myself look like an idiot!" he pleaded and Komori and Midoriya groaned at him.

"It's gonna be fine, Sei," the fox girl sighed, leaned back into the music room's couch, while tuning the guitars they'd be using and Komori snapped her fingers to get his attention.

"We'll be here too," the brunette reminded before jabbing a thumb back over to the greenette. "Plus, you can put the attention on us or just make fun of Mimi as an easy out," she giggled which put a sour look on said girl's face.

"Oi," the fox student clicked while Komori stuck her tongue out but Midoriya redirected back to him.

"You said she was coming here to listen and maybe play with us so it's not like you're going on a date or something," she reasoned as he nodded at her words.

"Yeah...but I'm still nervous," Kosei admitted quietly though Komori whistled.

"Wanna play something to calm down?" the shorter girl offered which got him to chuckle sheepishly.

"That sounds cool," he agreed and Midoriya was already in gear to set things up while Komori gave a stretch as she got up too but her expression morphed to a cheekily playful one.

"Live or should I play the mix I made using voice clips of Mimi?" she snickered mostly to herself while shooting a glance towards the taller girl who didn't even get distracted from what she was doing.

"Sei and I made a new one of you, K.K," she revealed and Komori turned towards him with a scowl.

"You turned down helping me a couple days ago!" she pouted and Kosei put his hands up to try and placate her anger.

"Mimi asked first," he tried despite the brunette clearly not being in the mood for the excuse but a thump sounded from Midoriya's direction as she drummed her tails on the ground.

"I made it an hour loop too," she said, absentmindedly flashing a victory sign, which only further served to poke at Komori. "I think the file is named 'Song to melt your brain to' or something like that," she added on and the shorter girl exaggeratedly groaned.

"You're so the wooooorst," she whined and Kosei couldn't help but laugh, his nervousness leaving him almost completely, before he pitched back in.

"Let's play something live," the boy chose, getting nods from them and finding his position. "We singing or...?" he trailed off but Komori pointed at him.

"All you, Sei," she told him and he grinned as they started up.

He knew singing was Komori's thing but with her help, and to her delight, he and Midoriya had picked it up. Even through his own singing he could feel Midoriya running double on bass and drums while Komori handled the keyboard but he still had his own part to play on vocals and lead guitar. His former anxiety had been blown away as they progressed through the song and before he knew it they were coming towards the end.

'I want to delight, keep thinking 'bout the future

When we're tender to each other like it's the most natural thing

We'll vow to meet again, in a place beyond tonight'

The song was still fading out but Kosei quickly snapped his attention over to a polite applause and his cheeks warmed up when he saw who it was. He had been so engrossed in the song that he didn't register at all when they entered and he quickly found himself right in front of them.

"Hey! Sorry about that," he hurriedly acknowledged with an awkward laugh while rubbing at the back of his head. "Just doing some warm-up and checking the equipment," he played off in an attempt to make small talk and easy the transition.

"Nah, it's cool," she hummed, also playing with the tips of her hair, as she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "I had fun watching," their guest assured, directing the words at all of them before focusing back on Kosei. "You're really good, you know?" she offered and the boy could only blush at the praise.

"Ah, thanks..." he managed to reply and they stood quietly for a moment before he felt what was probably one of Midoriya's tails jabbing him in the back.

Knocked out of his stupor, Kosei coughed lowly into his fist before moving to the side and gesturing towards where they were set up.

"Anyway," he grinned, excited this time instead. "Ready to play, Jirou?"

*Reiko POV*

No one considered Tokage an awkward person...at least until you put her in front of Midoriya.

Practically everyone in 1-B knew of her massive crush on Midoriya, and penchant for making a fool out of herself by staring at her assets, so it came as no surprise when Tokage acted like a robot trying to be human. This time however...

No one was going to hold this time against her.

Per usual, some of them were sent to wake up Midoriya for breakfast and morning classes but when the sleepy fox girl came out everyone there went silent. It took a moment for Reiko to recover, just after Honenuki, then Kamakiri and the three of them drew their eyes to Tokage who looked like a bundle of fried nerves. The splitting girl's face was as red as usual but her reaction was more overt because of the uncommon circumstances.

"Hi," Tokage squeaked out, her voice pitching higher slightly as she stared up with a blush, and Midoriya groaned while rolling her neck.

"Mornin'," the fox eared student grumbled drowsily.

Midoriya was right in front of them but not as the Midoriya they were used to. She was taller than usual for one and many of her features were sharper and more defined than they used to be as well. Her once long green hair was shortened to just past her neck and she had a stronger jawline. Her arms were a bit thicker while her shoulders were broadened too. Her chest was also replaced by flat, more hardened muscle, and her shirt dropped down around that area due to the loss of mass. Midoriya's voice was also deeper and more rough than before.

Suffice to say, the fox girl was now a fox boy.

"Uh," Kamakiri cautiously tested, likely unsure if Midoriya was pulling one of her pranks, which gained the now male looking student's attention. "You look good like that?" he offered and Midoriya gave a strange look back.

"Mm?" she hummed, appearing confused, and Honenuki coughed politely.

"How did this happen?" he inquired, straight to the heart of the matter but rolling along with the event, but Midoriya seemed to still not register what they were referring to and Reiko pointed a finger.

"Your current form is quite unusual to us, Midoriya," she gestured up and down before the mentioned student finally observed themself.

If Reiko didn't know better then she would have missed the flash of rage that shot across Midoriya's eyes. It was extremely quick, and extremely rare, but it had appeared and vanished though Midoriya's jaw remained clenched momentarily.

"This stupid quirk..." the fox student growled before drawing her eyes down the hall. "Monoma! Wanna play with a new power?" she called, drawing the arrived blonde's attention, and he grinned smoothly while striding over to the group.

Reiko noted that Honenuki and Kamakiri were taking a more backseat position to this event, probably mulling things over for themselves, while Tokage was still fixed in place and in her own Midoriya-centric world. Reiko herself quickly gathered that this was not something Midoriya planned and had to do with the nature of her quirk as it grow along with her. It was easy to conclude that such an ability could be in Midoriya's repertoire if you knew about kitsune so she briefly considered why it had shown up now and if her friend would gain more abilities. Reiko was musing over but a clapping noise broke her thoughts as Monoma slapped hands with the taller student.

"Shapeshifting now are we?" he mused, fox ears already appearing upon his head. "I've copied a quirk that had something like that before," he hummed and soon enough Monoma had swapped appearance as well.

The copycat's blonde hair had grown in length and his body took on more feminine curves and features. His shirt filled out in the chest area and his pants fit much differently. More and more changes took place, such as his skin, shape of eyes, lips, and the like and very soon they now also had a genderbent Monoma on their hands.

"Oh my, this is fun," the now appearing female giggled, voice changed as well, and Midoriya crossed her arms.

"Want a bra?" she offered but Monoma shook his head.

"No, no," the blonde declined. "I prefer my normal body but this would be amusing once in a while," he considered before turning a teasing tone back at Midoriya. "You aren't too bothered by it," Monoma minded her and Midoriya huffed.

"I turn into a fox," she rebutted but the two back brainstorming back and forth over this whole experience which Reiko took as a cue for retreat.

Nudging Honenuki, she managed to get Tokage walking while he signaled to Kamakiri and the group of four went on their way to report that they'd woken Midoriya up. It would assuredly be best to inform the rest of the class about the shapeshifting too so they weren't caught off guard but she would decide when she got there. However, Tokage finally seemed to return to the real world and the first words out of her mouth made the rest of them groan.

"If I date Midoriya then would I get to have a girlfriend and a boyfriend? Isn't that kinda awesome?"

This stupid Midoriya-holic.

[If anything was learned today then it would be that Tokage Setsuna only liked Midoriya Izumi...though bonuses never hurt.]

Notes and Stuff

Kyoka finds her way into the Music Club. See, Kosei's crush was important. I'm still be focusing on 1-B but a few outside characters will make appearances here and there. The song that I had Kosei sing was 'One Day' by Omoinotake.

Setsuna is so exclusively down bad for Izumi. I thought it was a fun scenario to mainly introduce Izumi now having shapeshifting. Have fun thinking of what I'm setting up and doing with that stuff.

I've been writing here and there but have been pulled away by stuff. Job searching, PC building kerfuffles, and a bunch of minor things that stacked up, have really dug into my hobbies but with that mostly behind me I've found I can work better now. I have a few ideas started up, honestly well written but depressing in my opinion, and some updates just needing polishing so that should be cool.

On another note, I had a question about pairings. Are there particular pairings that you like when I write for? Not based on story but pairing in general? I know I have more stories for some so it's hard to gauge for those with little but let me know. On the other hand is there a pairing you wish I did more of? It can ones I've never done before or simply done only a small amount on. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
