Savor the Rewrite: Chapter 15 Tony Micelli, This is Your Life

Tony arrived at the golf course about fifteen minutes later. He had his golf clubs already in the trunk of his jeep, along with his change of clothes. He grabbed everything and headed towards the locker room. Before he got to the door, he heard someone call out his name.

"Tony? Tony Micelli?" said the man, a set of expensive golf clubs being held by a young caddy standing next to him.

"Mike? Mike Va Salle? What are you doing here?" he asked as the two men embraced.

"Heading out for a round of golf with the guys from the club! How about you?" asked Mike.

"I'm meeting my friend Ray for golf too! Truth be told, I needed to get out of the house for a bit. My wife's pregnant and she's been hounding me for weeks trying to control my every move!" he said as he thought back to the past few days.

"Oh wow… congratulations Tony! I remember when my third wife was pregnant with our second. Every single thing about me bothered her! I could barely live in the house! She micromanaged everything! Thank goodness for road trips right Tony!" joked Mike.

"Tell me about it! If it's not one thing, it's another! So how is your wife and kids?" asked Tony.

"Well my current wife, Mrs. Michael Va Salle the fourth is good! My kids are good, from what I hear. Both are off in boarding school somewhere expensive. Thank goodness for my baseball career- three alimony payments and two child support payments add up!" he laughed.

"Wow… yes I suppose it would…" said Tony.

"And to think, had you not tried for that triple, you too could be living this life! The career you always dreamed of! What a shame Tony… alright my tee time is in a few minutes. I'll catch you on the green! Good seeing you Tony!" he said as he walked off towards the course.

Tony just stood there for a moment, briefly thinking of what his life would be like if he hadn't gotten injured, hadn't moved to Connecticut, hadn't met Angela. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks what a complete idiot he had been, not just for walking out on her earlier, but for the whole situation. He quickly grabbed his clubs and ran back to the jeep, throwing all his stuff into the trunk.

"Think, think Micelli! How do I make it up to her? Okay first I'll stop at the florist and pick up a dozen pink roses! Then I'll take her anywhere she wants to go to buy whatever it is she wants. Then I'll take her out for an early Valentine's Day romantic dinner for two!" he said out loud as he put the car in gear and headed to the florist.

Once he pulled in, he had the florist pick out the prettiest pink roses and had her add baby's breath to the arrangement. He quickly wrote out an 'I'm sorry' card and headed out of the store. He pulled up to the house, not even noticing Mona's car was gone and Samantha's was in the driveway. He slowly opened the front door and peaked his head in, hoping that he could try and apologize before being read the riot act.

"Angela… Angela?" he called as he walked into the living room. He was met with silence until Samantha walked in from the kitchen.

"Where have you been? I called the golf course and they said you never showed up! I called Mrs. Rossini and all of your idiot friends but no one heard from you! Do you have any idea how worried I've been?" she shouted.

"Calm down Samantha! I got to the golf course and ran into an old friend of mine. I realized how big of a jerk I've been and I knew I had to do something to make it up to Angela. Where is she? She's gotta be beyond angry at me…" he said.

"She's at the hospital Dad! Right after you left, she started having pains and was running a fever. Mona and Jonathan took her to the hospital. I've been trying to get in contact with you to let you know!" she shouted.

"What? Fever? Pains? Like labor pains? It's way too early! She's not even nineteen weeks yet! Oh my god! We've got to go!" he shouted as he ran back outside, Samantha following close behind him.

Tony reluctantly agreed to have Samantha drive him, for fears of crashing the car. The car was barely pulled into the hospital parking lot when Tony was out of the car, running full speed into the ER lobby. He could see Mona and Jonathan standing to the side, talking to a nurse.

"Mona! Jonathan! Where is she? Is she okay? Is she in labor? Is the baby okay?" he asked, all his questions coming in rapid succession.

"I'm assuming you're her husband? My name is Julia and I'm a labor and delivery nurse. It appears your wife has a pretty nasty UTI, on top of dehydration, which caused some preterm contractions. We were able to give her IV fluids and some medication to stop the contractions. The baby was in some distress when your wife first arrived, but the heart rate has bounced back up into the normal range" said Julia.

"Are… are they going to be okay? Can I see Angela?" he practically pleaded. Just then, Samantha walked in and joined them.

"I will go back and check in on her now. If everything looks good, I'll come and bring you back" she said.

"C'mon Tony… let's go take a seat over there…" said Mona as she led him to a set of chairs. The family all sat down, all four faces wearing matching looks of fear.

"What happened? She was fine when I left!" he said.

"She started having sharp pains a few minutes after you left. Jonathan and I were able to get her into the car. We called Samantha before we left to try and track you down…" said Mona. She was trying to hide her own anger at Tony, but she wasn't doing a good job.

"Oh my god… it's all my fault! If something happens to her or the baby…" he started to say as the nurse came back in.

"Follow me Mr. Micelli" said Julia. He followed her down a hallway and into a section marked maternity. She led him to the second door on the left and escorted him inside. He froze when he saw her hooked up to IVs and a fetal monitor. Her own vitals were also being monitored.

"Tony…" she said weakly as a soft smile formed on her face. It was enough to snap him out of his state as he ran over to her side.

"Oh sweetheart! Are you okay? Is… is the baby okay?" he asked as he sat on the edge of the bed and grabbed a hold of her hand.

"I'm okay. They started me on the IVs for the dehydration and medication for the infection. The baby… the baby is doing better now but when I came in the heartbeat was too low…" she said as she started to cry. He immediately wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly as she cried.

"But the baby's heartbeat is okay now right? That's a good sign! Right little one? You've got a bit longer before you can come and meet your beautiful mommy and your idiot father… so stay with mommy okay?" he said as he placed his hand on her belly.

"Tony…" she started to say before he interrupted her.

"Angela… I… I…" he started to say as the doctor and nurse came back in the room.

"So things are looking much better thankfully. The baby is no longer in distress and the heartbeat is in the normal range. The fluids seem to be working too as your vitals have improved" said the doctor. Tony's head began to spin as he pictured Angela in distress. He quickly tried to push the feeling out of his head.

"We are still waiting on more test results but this appears to be a urinary tract infection. However, I want to rule out anything more serious with a spinal tap. It won't hurt the baby and can help us narrow down if anything else is going on…" said the doctor.

"I don't understand how she could get this sick so fast! This morning she was fine! Could… could stress have made this worse?" asked Tony as he tried to hold back tears.

"Stress didn't cause the infection no, but stress in pregnancy can weaken the immune system and is not good for the mother or the baby. Once we confirm what is going on and things stabilize more, you will be discharged with strict bed rest for two weeks as you recover. You will also need to follow up with your obstetrician" said the doctor.

All Tony heard from the doctor's words were stress was bad. He stressed her out today and for the past few weeks. This was his fault. He caused this to happen. If something happens to either of them it's his fault.

"Tony? Tony are you okay?" asked Angela as she gently squeezed his hand.

"What? Yes I'm fine. Yes when she gets home I will make sure she doesn't lift a finger until this baby is ready to be born. You… you think the baby is okay though?" he asked as his voice cracked with emotion.

"Nothing is definite but it looks like the baby is healthy and doing well. We'd like to keep you here a few days for observation and to make sure everything continues to stabilize. I'd like to get you set up for the spinal tap now though…" said the doctor as the nurse came over to prep Angela.

She was helped to the side of the bed as Tony came around to her side. The doctor set up and began the procedure. Angela winced in pain as Tony held on to her hand, trying to be as encouraging to her as possible. Tony did not like needles and made a point to look away during the procedure. However, once it was completed, he made the mistake of looking up as the doctor placed the long needle on the tray. The room started to spin; the last thing he remembered before total blackness was Angela calling his name.

"Tony… Tony…" she said, the woman's voice getting louder and louder as Tony slowly gained consciousness.

"Angela…" said Tony with a smile as he slowly started to open his eyes. The look of shock and horror on his face was all too apparent as he looked up at the elderly woman in front of him.

"No! Not Angela! It's Candy! Your secretary! Did you mix the cognac and scotch again sir?" she asked as she opened the shades in his apartment. Tony looked around and didn't recognize the apartment he was in- it was small but quaint, a midwestern feel to the decor.

"Wait! Where am I? What am I doing here?" he asked.

"So you really did get into the cognac and scotch again!" she chuckled as she tried to straighten up the messy coffee table.

"Who's place is this?" he asked as he looked around.

"It's yours silly!" she said with a laugh.

"Mine? Oh wait a minute! I remember! This all started when I looked at that needle that was used with Angela!" he said as the memory was coming back to him.

"Angela? I don't think so Tony. How about you go take a nice hot shower and umm… sober up? You've got back to back classes plus the first playoff game tonight! You need to be ready to go!" she said as she went into the kitchen to make him some coffee.

"Wow… wow… this is weird! Very weird! Wait a minute! Where's Angela? She needs me!" he started to say as he quickly turned around, almost knocking into a petite brunette woman.

"Marie? But it can't be you! You're… you're…" he started to say.

"Gone Tony? Passed away? Kicked the bucket?" laughed Marie.

"Oh no! That means I'm…" he started when he was interrupted.

"No, no, no! You're not dead Tony!" said Marie.

"Then what… am I dreaming? Then what's going on here?" he asked.

"Look… sometimes an entire life hinges on one random event. In your case, it was when Angela got sick" she said.

"But what does that have to do with you? You didn't make her sick! I caused this!" said Tony.

"Technically, I'm responsible, so I was sent to give you your other life, the one you could have if you don't wise up Tony!" said Marie.

"Wait! How are you responsible? I don't get it!" he said.

"See Tony… when I got sick, a part of you shut down. You run from things when you get scared, when your insecurities get in the way. Why did you take seven years to tell Angela how you felt about her when you knew it from practically day one? Why did you freak out over who was the breadwinner between the two of you? Why did you try and live life to the fullest right before the wedding? And why, oh why, did you listen to those idiots about being henpecked?" she asked.

"Well… I…" he started to stutter before she cut him off.

"It's because you don't know how to truly deal with your feelings Tony. You push them down, hide them behind your tough, macho Brooklyn exterior. That wall you built up around your heart after I died has slowly started to come down with the help of Angela… but that stubborn Italian part of you comes to the surface whenever you get scared. So I was sent to give you your life… the one that could be if you don't start to learn from your mistakes…" she said.

"So, so what are you like my guardian angel?" he asked.

"No… even I don't have time for that job!" she laughed.

"So wait a minute! Why am I here now? In this apartment? I passed out in the hospital and I'm going to wake up any minute right?" he practically pleaded.

"Only when you learn your lesson…" she said.

"Are you saying I have some choice in this matter? It's up to me?" he asked as Candy walked back into the room. She looked at him like he was crazy as she watched him talk to the empty chair.

"Are you alright Tony?" she asked.

"Oh yeah! I was just talking to my dead wife…" he said as he looked back at the now empty seat.

"I mean I was talking to myself! Trying to give myself a prep talk for the big game!" he said trying to cover his mishap.

"Of course… I wanted to remind you that you have a meeting with Dr. Graham at 2:00pm to discuss extending your contract" she said.

"Why am I meeting with him?" he asked.

"You requested it sir. Your three year contact is up and you wanted to extend it for another five years. You've been negotiating the new contract for weeks now. You've finally come up with something everyone agrees on" she said.

"Wait where do I teach? And why am I in this apartment?" he asked as he went to the window and saw a bunch of cornfields.

"And why am in the middle of the movie Field of Dreams?" he asked.

"Oh dear Tony… lay off the booze a bit okay? This is Iowa. You are an Assistant Professor and baseball coach at Wells College. You moved out here three years ago after you graduated college" she said.

"Oh wow! Professor Micelli? Head baseball coach? That has a nice ring to it! But where is my family? They agreed to move out to Idaho?" he asked.

"For the last time Tony it's Iowa! I seriously don't understand how someone can confuse the two! Do you see potatoes out in that corn field?" she said in disgust as she walked back into the kitchen.

"Wait a minute! I moved out here three years ago… that means the baby was born and is almost three! Oh my god! Angela! Angela!" he started shouting as he ran into the bedroom followed by the bathroom. He came back into the living room disheartened until he caught a photograph hidden behind some baseball trophies. He went over and picked it up. Tears came to his eyes as he saw Samantha and Jonathan holding a squirming, laughing little boy.

"The… the baby! He's gorgeous! He looks just like Angela but with olive skin and my hair!" he gushed as he wiped the tears from his eyes.

"Umm Candy? Where is my wife Angela? Our little boy? Frankly anyone from my family!" he shouted.

"Well Samantha is visiting. She will be here for your awards ceremony tomorrow night. Coach of the year two years running! I can call her and see if she can come over this morning" said Candy.

"Samantha! Can you call her please? C'mon, c'mon! I want to see my daughter!" he pleaded.

"Yes sir…" she said as she picked up the phone. "Hi Samantha it's Candy. Your father is requesting a visit from you this morning. He's got a busy schedule and if you could come over now that would be good… okay thank you…" she said as hung up the phone.

"She will be right over shortly. I will leave you to ahh sober up sir…" she said as she left the apartment. He began searching the apartment for any traces of Angela or the baby's things but he found nothing. He decided he needed to shower and get ready before she arrived. About a half an hour later, Samantha knocked on the door.

"Samantha! Come in! How are you?" he said as he wrapped his arms around her.

"I'm okay Dad… better question is how are you? You're acting strange…" she said as she pulled back from his embrace.

"What do you mean? I'm just giving you a hug!" he said with a questioning look.

"Yeah exactly. We haven't hugged in oh I don't know two, almost three years. Maybe the day my divorce was finalized last year…" she said as she went over to sit on the sofa.

"Wait you got married? You're too young! What were you thinking? And you're divorced?" he said as he stood there stunned by her words.

"Yeah well when everything started falling apart at home, I eloped. I guess I just needed to get out of the house. It was even worse than when you were dating Kathleen…" she said.

"Things… things were falling apart at home?" What? I… I don't know what happened!" he said with desperation in his voice.

"Yeah… once Angela came home from the hospital, you totally closed yourself off. You blamed yourself for her getting sick and never trusted yourself around her or really any of us again. You weren't even there when Robbie was born. Then you got this job offer and left about a month later. You've only been back to Connecticut three or four times since then…" she said.

"I missed his birth? I live here now? Angela and I… aren't together?" he said as he sat down on the sofa, his legs practically giving out beneath him.

"Your divorce should be finalized this month. Assuming you agree to giving up custody. She and Gary are in the process of selling the house and moving to the north shore of Long Island" she said.

"What? Give up custody of my son? My own flesh and blood? Never! He's my child just like you and Jonathan! And who's this Gary guy?" he shouted.

"Well you've barely been there for him Dad and Gary has really stepped in to be his father figure. Same for Jonathan since you know he refuses to talk to you since you left. Be thankful Mona is no longer out for blood! How many new sets of tires did you have to put on that jeep?" she chuckled.

"Oh my god… what have I done?" he asked as he put his hands up to his face. He was on the verge of tears when Samantha spoke again.

"How about I go and get you something to eat? I'll go to your favorite restaurant in town… the only restaurant in town… and bring you back a burger!" she said as she headed out the door. Just then, Marie walked in from the kitchen.

"Marie! Marie! I don't believe this! I don't believe what's happened here! I mean my daughter is divorced! Jonathan and Mona hate me! Angela and I are separated, soon to be divorced and…

I have no relationship with my own baby! What happened to me?" he shouted.

"You never learned to deal with your feelings and you ran away from the very people you loved… it happens to a lot of people…" she said.

"But Marie you know me! I'm a good guy! I've always been a good guy right?" he asked the empty chair just as Candy walked back in the apartment.

"Of course you are sir! All your furniture likes you…" she said as she rolled her eyes.

"Candy! I need you to get me and Samantha on the next flight to Connecticut! I need to see my family!" he shouted as he ran into his bedroom to pack a bag, leaving Candy wondering what was in that cognac and scotch.

Samantha came back with his lunch, which was left sitting on the table as he dragged her out of the apartment and to the airport. She could barely keep up with his ramblings, talking about his plans to win over the family, get Angela back and start a relationship with his son. She tried to warn him that his plans were not going to work as well as he thought but Tony wouldn't listen. She spent the entire flight wondering how badly this was going to end for everyone.

"Alright Samantha! This is it! I… I don't have my key. Do you have yours?" he asked.

"I'm not so sure this is a good idea Dad. You haven't had a key to the house in years and I gave mine back when they put the house up for sale. You're going to have to ring the doorbell and hope someone lets you in…" she said.

"Oh they are going to let me in!" he said, his voice full of hope.

"Okay Dad…I can't be around for this. Good luck…" she said as she watched him ring the bell before she headed back to the car. After a few moments, Jonathan opened the door.

"Jonathan! How are you? I missed you!" he said as he tried to come into the house. Jonathan just responded by slamming the door in his face.

"What was that?" he said as he rang the bell again. This time, Mona opened the door.

"Mona! Boy is it good to see you! A friendly face!" he said with a smile.

"Try again bub! Beat it loser!" she said as she slammed the door in his face. Tony just stood there like he had been slapped in the face when the door opened for the third time.

"Tony? What are you doing here? I told Candy the divorce papers and the custody agreement would be finalized by next week and faxed to your office…" she said as she stood firmly in the doorway.

"That's… that's what I'm here for! To talk about all that and… oh my gosh you look amazing Angela…" he said as he took a step into the house. Without thinking, he leaned in and gave her a hug. Momentarily stunned, she finally snapped out of it and slapped him across the face.

"Oww! What did you hit me for?" he asked as he rubbed his face.

"You know I'm with Gary now! And our lawyers told us no physical contact…" she said, still standing in the doorway, blocking his entrance.

"I can't even hug you? I thought you'd like it!" he said, still rubbing his face.

"I used to… never mind! What do you want Tony?" she said.

"I just wanted to see you and our… the family. Is… is the baby here?" he said as he looked around.

"He's taking a nap. He should be up soon… what's the sudden interest in him. Please tell me you aren't going back on the custody agreement because we've been back and forth enough already!" she shouted.

"No Angela! I… can I just come in for a second?" he asked.

"Don't do it Angela! I smell a rat a mile away!" said Mona.

"Mother, why don't you go check on Robbie okay? Fine Tony… come in…" she said. Mona walked past Tony, giving him the meanest stare he had ever seen. They moved over to the sofa and sat down.

"I wanna hear about you! What's been happening with you?" he asked, a renewed sense of hope in his voice.

"Well let's see… how far back to you want to go, hmm? Raising our son by myself for the past two and a half years? Taking him to the park, being there for him when he had the chicken pox last year, taking him on his first vacation, to his first baseball game? Or should I back it up further to giving birth to him by myself after spending the last few months of my pregnancy alone? Does that sum it up Tony? Thank god I met Gary when I did…" she said.

"I… I don't even know what to say Angela… I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry…" he said as tears came to his eyes.

"Yeah well… sorry doesn't cut it for me anymore but it is nice to hear that from you… for once…" she said. Angela's words were like a knife through his heart. Marie's words about learning to deal with his emotions and not run from his problems echoed in his mind.

"So are you and Gary… umm… serious?" he asked.

"Not that it's any of your business but yes we are but…" she started to say when she stopped talking. A glimmer of hope was infused into Tony.

"But…" he said, hoping she would say she still loved him.

"He wants to marry me and make our family permanent but I'm not ready for that commitment yet! You broke more than my heart Tony when you left! You broke my trust in men. He's been so supportive and patient with me. Why am I telling you all of this? What do you want Tony?" she said with a great deal of frustration.

"Why don't you let me tell you about it… we'll catch up… I just want to have dinner with you! Please?" he pleaded.

"No… I… I… tonight isn't a good night. I have a lot of work to do getting the house ready to sell and Robbie has a playdate this afternoon…" she said as she came up with any excuse not to be with Tony.

"Well you've all got to eat! I'll cook something! How about I whip up a fast linguine alle vongole?" he asked.

"That's my favorite… but Robbie won't eat that… something you'd have known if you had seen him more than a handful of times…" she said bitterly.

"Family… they should be together Angela! A boy needs his father!" he said.

"How dare you walk in here and criticize my life! You left Tony! You abandoned us!" she shouted.

"I'm sorry Angela! That's not what I meant! I didn't come here to upset you!" he said.

"Then why are you here?" she asked, practically pleading with him.

"I'm here to try and make amends… to let you know how I feel. I love you Angela! I've loved you for as long as I can remember! I let my fears of not being enough for you get in the way of our relationship, our marriage and our family. I'm asking you to please forgive me… we can start over! I'll quit my job in Idaho, I mean Iowa, and I'll come home! We can be the family we should have been years ago…" he said. Just then, Mona came down the stairs holding a sleepy toddler curdled into her side.

"Someone isn't happy to be awake!" chuckled Mona as she handed the toddler to Angela. She took him and cuddled him to her, rubbing his back gently as he clung to her body.

"Is this… is this Robbie? He's so big! Oh Angela he's gorgeous! He looks just like me!" he said as he wiped tears from his eyes.

"We try not to hold that against him…" said Mona sarcastically.

"Mother… please give us a minute okay?" she asked Mona.

"Well if you need anything, I'm in the kitchen. Watch it bub or you're going to need a whole new set of tires… again!" she said as she headed into the kitchen.

"Boy is she mad at me!" said Tony.

"Can you blame her?" asked Angela.

"Mommy? Who is that?" asked Robbie as he pointed at Tony.

"Remember we talked about who that is… that's your father who lives in Iowa. He's Sammy's daddy" she said, those words breaking his heart.

"Oh Sammy's daddy! Hi!" he said as he smiled at Tony.

"Hi Robbie! I'm your Daddy too! I was talking to Mommy and seeing if maybe we could go to the park later and then I could make us all dinner. Anything you want buddy!" said Tony.

"Daddy!" he squealed as the front door opened and a handsome looking man walked through the front door. Robbie jumped off of Angela's lap and went running over to Gary as he bent down and picked him up.

"Robbie my boy! I missed you today! I heard you have a play date later on! How about we get you a snack before we go? Oh hi Tony… I didn't see you there…" said Gary as he stepped further into the room. Tony stood up and looked Gary up and down, sizing him up as his anger and jealousy grew.

"Hi Gary…" he said through a forced smile.

"Sweethearts, why don't you go into the kitchen for a snack while Tony and I talk…" she said as Gary nodded, carrying Robbie into the kitchen.

"Look Tony… I'm begging you just sign the papers and let us move on. You see how happy Robbie is with Gary. Don't take away the only father he's ever known. I won't lie and say that I've never thought about you coming back here, telling me you've come to your senses and loved me again…" she said.

"I do love you Angela! I've always loved you!" he cried.

"You don't know how long I've waited to hear that Tony… but it's too late. I think… I think I've been holding back with Gary because I didn't have closure with us… but now I do. It's over between us Tony. Maybe down the line if you want a relationship with Robbie we can figure something out but for now it's best if you leave…" she said as she stood up to walk into the kitchen.

"Wait Angela! What about us? I want all of that now! With you and Robbie, Sam, Jonathan and Mona! You are my family, my life!" he said.

"Oh Tony… I don't think so. Maybe another place, another time but Gary and I have a future together. He's been there for me through the past few years. He's ready to commit to me and thanks to you, I think I'm ready…" she said with a smile as she turned and walked into the kitchen.

"Don't take it so hard Tony… you were able to share those feelings! It just didn't get you what you wanted…" said Marie.

"Marie… take me home… I just want to go home …" he said as Marie just smiled at him before everything went dark again.

"Tony! Tony! Is he alright?" said Angela as Tony started coming around.

"Marie?" he said as he opened his eyes to multiple nurses and the doctor around him.

"No this is Julia the nurse. You passed out and have been unconscious for a few minutes" she said.

"Angela! Where's Angela?" he started to shout as he tried to stand up.

"Sir please don't get up too quickly…" she said.

"Tony! I'm fine! I'm right here…" she said as she reached for his hand.

"Oh sweetheart! I had the worst dream! I'm so glad it was just a dream. Are you okay?" he asked as he grabbed onto her hand.

"I'm fine Tony! I'm just worried about you!" she said.

"I'm fine! Really I'm fine! I can stand up…" he said as they helped him to his feet. He sat down on the edge of the bed as Angela pulled him into a hug.

"Okay we will come back and check on the three of you in a little while. If you need anything just hit the red button by the bed" said the doctor as they left them alone.

"Angela… I'm so sorry. I never should have left this morning. I promise you I'm going to do everything in my power to be as open and honest about my feelings with you from now on. And I will never, ever leave you again" he said as he wiped away the tears in his eyes.

"Oh Tony… we both need to make sure we are communicating with one another. This baby here deserves that…" she said as she took their hands and placed them on her belly.

"You hear that little one? I got the picture loud and clear! You just stay put with Mommy for the next few months! Then I promise you… we will have so much fun together! I'm making the same promise to you… I'm not going anywhere…" he said softly to the baby.

"That must have been some bad dream Tony.." she said as she ran her other hand through his hair.

"You don't know the half of it Angela!" he chuckled as he leaned over for a kiss.
