Well, I am back with another chapter from the multiverse! Last time, Wendy in Racoon City and all the horrors there. Obviously from No Hope, No Escape. I had fun writing it even if it didn't get much in terms of traffic.
Still, I'll probably write a few chapters before returning to anything FT related…aside from the guild watching of course. Also, if anybody is confused or complains about lore or canon events, this is for viewing the multiverse so I could write FF7 with Cloud and Jessie hooking up! Or the UNSC kicking the Covenants ass at Reach! Or Rick and Morty! Or something with a naked man running around on the moon! Point is, even if its your favorite game, or anime or whatever, I'll probably skewer it with different events or outcomes. If you enjoy that, check it out. If it bugs you, write something yourself during your free time.
Now, onto the chapter for your greedy eye holes…you dirty cannibals!
Chapter Seven: The Gold Fighter
Silence still reigned in the guild, the previous timeline revealing undead horrors, skinless monsters, an older version of Wendy Marvell, and the truth that multiverse travel was possible…somehow…someway.
Finally having enough of the depressed gloom within the guild, Natsu finally spung to his feet, the man gripping the sides of his head. "AHHH! That whole city sucked! Why the hell would Wendy be in a place like that!?"
"Well, if you were listening, she said there was an accident with her dimensional travel…device" His tone clipped and off putting, Gray then looked at Wendy. "Try not to worry about her, alright? She found a sizable group of survivors, including some law enforcement"
"Yeah…I'm still really worried about her..or me though" Still downcast, Wendy tried not to think about what her older variant had done or seen before Levy ended the connection.
"I for one believes she will survive and escape that nightmare. She showed quick decision making, bravery and was skilled with firearms. I have no doubt it will be horrific and difficult, but she will survive" Erza stated with absolute authority.
"I wonder if we'll ever see her big sister..um..Sam? I'm kind of curious what kind of woman she is? Especially if she befriended Knightwalker"
"Perhaps we will in the future, but based on that young woman's words, her world is far worse than that city" Sighing, Queen Hisui wanted to forget all the horror, monsters, and fear she felt watching that terrible timeline.
"I knew Knightwalker, so if I had to guess, any sort of friendship would have to share her values of strength, skills with weapons, and probably some brutality. Which, in that type of situation, is an asset" Crossing his tiny arms, Pantherlily momentarily wondered how Edolas was doing.
Murmurs of agreement came from several mages, most understanding that sometimes, harshness and violence were the only paths to survive.
"Well I for one would gladly share a drink with her for getting through all that crap" Raising her freshly frothing mug of beer, Cana silently saluted the Wendy variant, then drank the whole thing in one go. Slamming it on the bar, she leapt off her barstool, then rushed toward Mira and the multidimensional viewing cube.
"MY TURN!" Slamming down her palm on the green button, the brunette gave a fist pump, her bosom heaving with the motion.
"NOO! That's my job! Wa…it's gonna be horrible or some booze universe…" Fake wailing, Mira shed some fake tears, trying to earn sympathy.
"Nice try Mira. That only works on your brother or Natsu" Smirking, Cana quickly retook her seat as the cube flashed, the lines of blue power ebbing…then flowing into the lenses as a new universe began to unfold against the far wall.
A sprawling city of skyscrapers, domed buildings, and the constant movement of vehicles hummed with humanity. Cut through the middle, a wide river brimmed with several boats, the water craft traveling along the waterways. Minor forests to the North and East covered the outskirts, while a towering range of mountains claimed the Western horizon. Aircraft flew through the sky, many appearing to be private transports.
"Thank goodness. It appears to be normal" Sighing in relief, Evergreen probably couldn't have handled two terrible timelines in a row.
"Does appear to be a rather prosperous civilization…again" Slightly pouting, Hisui didn't like the fact her kingdom was very primitive to many of these other worlds.
Falling silent, the queen and the guild watched as the view toward the street.
A young man walked briskly, his black hair standing up in a spike-like style. A small scar was over his right eye, but that didn't affect his facial structure which appeared to be quite handsome. Wearing a blue shirt with a stylized 'Z' in orange, he wore a simple pair of blue jeans, and white shoes. Over his shoulder, a yellow backpack was slung as the young man started to walk faster. A hard musculature made his shirt tight, clearly revealing that this young man took the time to take care of his physique. While not overly bulky, his chest and shoulders were broad.
Passing several pedestrians along his route, the man took a turn down a side street. Finding himself alone, he looked around to make sure nobody was watching. "Alright Gohan, time for some super speed" Grinning with a mischievous smile, he leaned forward…then ran. Bursting down the road, his form became nearly a blur as he traveled whole city blocks within mere seconds.
"WHAT!? NO WAY! Is he faster than me!?" Jet shouted out, the speed mage clearly not liking the implications of what had just happened. Feeling a comforting hand upon his shoulder, Jet craned his head to find Droy smiling. "Don't worry, man. Your still kinda fast"
"What do you mean, kinda?"
Droy went silent, opening a bag of chips which earned a small twitch from Jet.
"That's quite an impressive ability. I wonder if it's magic related or he was born with it?" Lisanna inquired, the youngest sibling quite impressed.
"Let's keep watching and find out" Mira assured, the barmaid hushing the guild.
Suddenly stopping, Gohan craned his head as several gunshots rang to the north of his location. "Gunshots? That's not good" Ducking through an alleyway, he sped toward the source. Coming to the corner of an office building, he took a glance.
Several police cars and officers were under fire in a parking lot as several men with automatic weapons sprayed bullets without a care. Standing outside Orange Star Savings and Loan, the criminals were enjoying themselves.
"YEAH! TAKE THAT YOU PIGS!" Unleashing another long burst of gunfire, the goon on the right riddled the nearest police car, blowing out glass and the tires. Ducking into the bank, the criminals then shot from the windows, the terrible fusillade keeping the officers pinned down.
"Bank robbers" Setting down his backpack behind a dumpster, Gohan looked around once more finding that aside from the police and criminals, the public had vacated the area. Grinning to himself once more, Gohan leaned forward as he flexed his arms while taking a wide stance. "Guess I can spare a few minutes. Going super should do it" Taking a deep breath, the young adult suddenly emblazoned with power as his hair turned a radiant gold. His normally dark eyes became a serene, ocean blue. Taking a deep breath once more, Gohan stood straight as his entire demeanor changed, his power a cauldron of strength.
"What the hell!? Did he just change hair colors to fight crime!?" Bicslow asked with a low shout, the man clearly not the only one shocked by the transformation.
"Please be quiet so we can watch what happens" Erza said in a stern voice, the woman not abiding interruptions.
Rushing past the police cars in the blink of an eye, Gohan simply punched through the closest wall, the teenager causing an explosion of dust, brickwork and plaster to coat several of the bank robbers. Along the left wall, several employees were on the floor, clearly hostages as they were bound with rope.
"What the hell!?" Trying to turn toward the source, the scumbag was already taking a fist to the abdominals, spitting up saliva as he slumped into unconsciousness.
"WASTE THAT PUNK!" Swinging their weapons around, the four remaining robbers lay down automatic fire as the largest man leveled a shotgun. Shot flared outward in the next moment, the cone of damage more than enough to cripple or maim.
Moving faster than the eye could see, Gohan caught each and every bullet with his right hand, his grin slightly cocky. "Hey…you dropped something" Letting the spent munitions fall to the tiled floor, they made small clatters as the thieves reeled in shock. "No way! That's imp—" Knocked out in the next moment as Gohan flashed behind him, the blonde man quickly gave sharp chops to the neck, ending the situation in mere seconds. Crumpled to the floor, Gohan then turned to the hostages and undid the knots, freeing them.
"T..thank you…uh…for saving us!" Clearly in shock, the rather attractive blonde bank employee didn't move as Gohan gave a small smile, then disappeared in a flash of golden light.
"HOLY CRAP! HE'S…SO MANLY!" Pumping his arms, Elfman flexed out of habit, his muscles clearly bulging with strength.
"Clearly, this young man possesses amazing abilities, and uses them to help people. How fortunate" Makarov smiled, relieved that this Gohan wasn't some power hungry fiend.
Natsu rapidly nodded his head, the man pleased. "I liked it when he blew up that wall with his fist. Wait…I CAN DO THE SAME! Hey Lucy, check this out!" Running toward the nearest wall of the guild hall, Natsu was suddenly grabbed by Erza, the stoic knight revealing a womanly glare of terror. "Please refrain from causing destruction to our guild, Natsu" Voice terribly calm, she dragged the man back, and planted him upon their shared bench while Happy snickered with feline delight.
"Heh…you got in trouble with Erza" Finding it humorous, Gray enjoyed the sight of his rival put in his place.
"Everybody please refrain from outbursts. The queen wants to keep watching" Kamika warned, the calm brunette eyeing the mages as Hisui gave a small wave with a smile.
Reverting back to his normal state, Gohan grabbed his backpack then shouldered it, the teenager then taking the nearest street corner. Almost colliding with a young woman, he barely managed to sidestep.
Wearing green boots and black shorts, the girl also wore a purple t-shirt that was overlain by a white, baggy half dress. Brown gloves adorned her hands, the female planting her curled fists on his hips.
Slender and lean, she was clearly athletic while messy black hair hung barely to her ears. Normally attractive, her attitude was clearly annoyed at this point. "Hey! Did you see what happened at the bank? I was on my way to assist the police when they called it off"
Shrugging, Gohan sidestepped the young woman. "Sorry I didn't. By the time I arrived in the area, it was over. Now…uh if you'll excuse me" Walking away, Gohan turned another corner, his destination soon appearing in view as a large, yellow painted school loomed at the end of a moderately crowded area of the city.
Suddenly going black, the image changed to show a classroom filled with dozens of student's. Designed like an auditorium, the desks took up the entire length of a row while several large windows allowed large amounts of sunlight to pour into the room. Several educational posters hung around the walls, encouraging reading and science.
Near the back, the same black haired girl sat, idly listening to some blonde haired boy talking about weight lifting. Sitting second to last in the row, the student was clearly uninterested as a blonde girl suddenly turned her way. "Something wrong Videl?"
"Some blonde guy broke up that bank robbery earlier. I talked to some of the criminals before they were hauled away and get this. They said this guy caught bullets? They're insane right? But the hostages said the same thing! And! And they claim he punched through a reinforced exterior wall like it was paper! They're already calling him the Gold Fighter!"
"Ohh…was he cute?"
Videl sighed, shaking her head. "Honestly Erasa, is that all you think about?"
"Heh, this gold fighter sounds pretty strong. Bet he can really lift" Flexing, the blonde boy in a tank top curled his bicep, trying to impress the two women.
"Yet I've kicked you ass every time at my father's Dojo, Sharpner. Clearly muscles aren't everything"
"Hey! I've only lost to you like thirty two times!" Grumbling, the teenager huffed, crossing his arms across his broad chest.
"Ugh, then there was this guy. I know he saw something but he rushed off before I could interrogate him" Clearly annoyed, Videl would follow up with the police later. Getting her school books and supplies out, the bell would ring in a minute.
"Hey, I heard we're getting a new student today. I hope he's cute!" Erasa exclaimed with a slight squeal, earing a groan from her two friends.
Students mingled and talked, a pleasant mixture of conversation and a few hints of laughter rising. Suddenly a bell rang, earning a groan as they took their seats. Toward the front of the room, an older man in a tweed jacket, balding with gray hairs and large glasses spoke.
"Good morning…my young scholars" Obviously sarcastic, the teacher glanced over, looking for disturbances. "I'd like to inform you that we have a new student today. His scores were perfect on all the entrance exams, so maybe some of you will learn from him instead. Please come in" Waving toward the door it opened.
Stepping in, Gohan gave a big smile before moving toward the center of the room. Unintentionally, shafts of sunlight fell upon him from the nearby window. Seemingly to highlight his hard musculature, broad shoulders and exposed biceps that were clearly defined, his smile diminished the scar across his forehead.
"Please introduce yourself and tell us a few things about yourself before class start's"
"Hi! Uh, I'm Gohon Son. I just moved to the city from Mount Puzou. I enjoy hunting, fishing, mountain climbing, and the martial arts. I plan on going to college and getting a job in building rocket engines since I love physics. Hope we can all get along" Smiling again, the introduction was interrupted by Erasa.
"YOU MEAN HES SMART AND A HUNK!?"
"Miss Bright! Please calm down!" Waving toward the seats, the teacher already seemed bored. "There's an open seat by the loud girl, please take that one"
"Sure" Moving up the steps by the windows, Gohon took the aisle seat, getting a warm smile from Erasa. "Hey Gohan! Nice to meet you! These are my friends Sharpner, and Videl"
"What's up" Idly waving, Gohan started to retrieve his books as Videl stared at him with extreme suspicion.
Suddenly, she spoke, ignoring the teacher who was already droning on. "Hey. You were outside the bank this morning"
"Uh, yeah?"
"Funny thing…I got a pretty good description of the guy that stopped it. Blue jeans, a blue shirt with an orange Z and a scar across the forehead. You're a perfect match…Gohan. So, how did you dye your hair so fast…Mister Gold Fighter"
"Oh come on Videl, you can't start accusing the new guy on day one. I know you want to join the police force, but you said that guy had gold hair and blue eyes. Clearly Gohan has neither…Still cute though…" Smiling, Erasa gave a wink toward the teenager at the end of the row.
Grinning, Gohan leaned back in his chair, the young man already knowing the material. "Nah, she's right. I am the gold fighter"
"I knew it!" Smiling in victory, Videl started to lean forward, hoping to learn more.
"Yup! I've also been to outer space when I was six. My god mother is Bulma Briefs who gave me my new house. I even know the supermodel Zangya and my best friend is the son of the demon king. Oh! And I can fly!" Laughing, Gohan could clearly see Videl turning a bit red with flecks of anger.
"If you're going to lie, at least make them believable!"
"Miss Satan, please be quiet and pay attention!"
Shrinking down from the scolding, Videl made a face at Gohan, who simply laughed.
"Why do I have the feeling this Gohan can fly?" Wakaba stated as the screen went black, no doubt for another minor time jump.
"He's already super strong and fast, I wouldn't be surprised" Erza responded with a thoughtful tone.
Cana slowly nodded, her own thoughts contemplating. "That Erasa is right though, that Gohan is pretty handsome. And smart. He'll definitely snag a woman very quickly. If he was here, I'd ask him out" Speaking out loud, it took the busty brunette a few seconds to realize her error.
"Weren't you just saying how happy you were to be married to Natsu?" Elfman asked.
"Yeah! You were making kissy faces at him!" Happy shouted with a laugh before flying away toward the guild ceiling.
"THAT WAS A DIFFERENT CANA!" Throwing an empty barrel at the muscular man, it broke into splinters from the force of impact as Cana clearly turned toward Natsu, her bosom giving a heavy bounce. "Not a word! From any of you! And Happy…" Staring upward, her brow twitched as the cat hid, suddenly trembling among the rafters.
Evergreen leaned toward Laxus, her voice low. "Hey, do you think Cana likes Natsu? She's clearly embarrassed"
"Maybe?"
"I can hear you, Evergreen"
"Oh! Ah…nevermind!" Scooting back to her own seat, Evergreen gulped as the bar lush glanced her way as Natsu sat there, clearly red in the face.
Unknown to him, Erza was hiding her emotions, the knight slightly possessive of the fire mage.
"HA! Natsu my boy, I'd be happy to have you as my son in law!" Slapping Natsu's back in a congratulatory tone, Gildarts ignored his fuming daughter who apparently died from embarrassment.
"As much as I would love to over see Cana and Natsu getting married in the future, the scene has changed" Pointing, Hisui ignored the twitching body of Cana as she slowly started to regain consciousness.
The students were leaving the school in droves, many climbing onto long, yellow buses, walking away, or climbing into vehicles.
Erasa jogged forward, keeping pace with Gohan as the young man turned left along the main road. "So Gohan, how did you like your first day?"
Shrugging, he adjusted his backpack. "Actually, it was pretty easy. All these assignments for homework I did when I was twelve"
"If they're so easy, why even bother going to high school?" Videl asked with a suspicious tone.
"Still need a diploma to get into any college, and this is the closest one to where my family lived. Still glad I moved though. The commute would've been terrible" Laughing a bit, Gohan rolled his shoulder, showing off a bit of his musculature.
"I'd say, Brains. That's a four hour drive one way to the four thirty nine district" Sharpener added as the young man stretched his own arms above his head.
"Brains?" Slightly confused, Gohan studied the jock.
"Yeah, well, you're a nerd, but that rare kind that isn't all scrawny. You obviously keep in shape. Isn't that right Videl? Check out these manly muscles" Flexing his bicep, the blonde man gave a grin.
"That muscle flexing is manly!"
"Shut up, Elfman you muscle head!" Evergreen scolded, earning fresh silence in the guild.
"So Gohan? You just moved here right? Mind if we see your new place? After all, it's already the weekend" Smiling warmly, Erasa clearly hoped to spend more time with the handsome teenager.
"Sorry, I'm still getting settled and unpacked, then a plans for tonight. Um…maybe next weekend you can stop over and check out the place if that's okay?"
"Awesome!" Clearly excited, Erasa was grinning from ear to ear just as a phone rang. Videl pulled a mobile phone from a small holster on her hip. "Hello Chi—what!? I'm on my way!" Flipping it shut, the young raven haired woman pulled another small case, pulling out a small capsule. Throwing it into the street, it exploded in a puff of orange smoke, soon revealing a yellow aircraft with gull wings and jet thrusters. The large number '3' was stenciled on the tail and side paneling, the coloration completely black. "Sorry guys! Duty calls! I'll call you later, Erasa!" Jumping into the cockpit with a wave, the engines screamed as Videl Satan lifted off, the engines flaring as she sped westward over the surrounding neighborhood.
"WHAT!? SHE JUST MADE A PLANE APPEAR OUT OF THIN AIR!" Hisui shouted in absolute shock and awe. Suddenly aware of her outburst, she tried to calm herself, but failed as other mages felt the same way.
"Was that some sort of shrinking magic!?" Laki said loudly, the purple haired woman clearly surprised by the sudden appearance of a small aircraft.
"I don't think so. Either way, that is a very advanced technology to enclose an entire vehicle into something that fits in a case on your hip. Just imagine what a person could carry" Erza contemplated, the re-equip mage already thinking of the possibilities.
Gohan watched Videl fly off, then turned to her two friends still standing there. "Will she be alright?"
"Don't worry man, Videl is probably the strongest person in the city after her dad. She can handle herself against a few crooks. Anyway, I'm heading home"
"Bye Gohan! See you Monday!" Erasa uttered in a warm farewell. Waving, she left with Sharpner, the duo heading in the opposite direction.
Strolling away from the two new friends, Gohan headed in the opposite direction. With the sun still shining and the day relatively early, he enjoyed the pleasant walk as he passed other pedestrians, whole city blocks of stores, and a park.
Eventually, he arrived at a modest home, the roof a curved dome while a split-level attachment. The roof was painted red, the material obviously quite new as the walls of light yellow reflected a bit of the sunlight. Several large windows stared out at the street and front lawn. Toward the rear of the home, a secondary larger dome was attached, nearly coming up to the property line and low fence.
Entering after unlocking the front door, Gohan set his backpack down, then made a beeline to the refrigerator. Pulling out a snack, it quickly disappeared, leaving Gohan with nothing to do. "Guess I could go train with Vegeta? Or maybe Piccolo? Yeah, Piccolo" Nodding to himself, Gohan left his home after changing into a blue Gi with a red belt and matching wrist bands.
Lifting off from the ground in a burst of rustling air and speed, Gohan sped westward with an excited grin. "I should stop and see my mom too, and Goten! Yeah, I bet they'll want to hear about my first day at high school!"
Clearly excited, the young man continued to fly westward, eventually passing the city limits.
"HE CAN FLY TOO! THAT'S NOT FAIR!" Lucy shouted with subtle hints of anger and jealousy.
"What are you talking about, Luce? You fly all the time with Happy" Natsu grinned with his normal pleasantness.
"Not the same with a cat calling me fat!"
"But Lucy, every time I carry you, you weigh more" Happy stated matter of factly…from his safe perch in the rafters.
"Shut it, you damn cat!"
"That is a very impressive young man. Super strength, speed and flight? He takes his abilities seriously and clearly uses them for helping" Makarov complimented, the elder watching the young man flying faster toward his destination.
Glancing down, Gohan frowned as he saw several police cars chasing a large, city bus. Trailed by a news van, it was clear something was wrong as the public transport started to drive erratically toward a cliff edge.
"Oh no! That bus is out of control!" Turning gold in a flash of light, Gohan dove down just as the bus drove off the edge, the police helpless to prevent the tragedy. Leaving a burning trail of light behind him, Gohan flew beneath the bus, then spread his arms to support the undercarriage as he caught the vehicle.
Flying upward with the city bus full of senior citizens talking animatedly from the numerous open windows, Gohan flew above the cliffs edge in full view of the police and news crews. Finally setting down the city transport with care, Gohan turned to leave.
"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!"
Groaning, he turned to see Videl standing there, her finger pointed as several officers took the bus hijackers into custody.
Marching forward, Videl was clearly amped up from the near death experience, the scrape with mortality charging her emotions.
"I finally got a good look at you Gold Fighter! Or should I say…Gohan" Smiling at her detective skills, Videl waited as the young man's hair wavered with gold, his blue eyes watching her with intent.
"I have no idea what you're talking about"
"Don't give me that! Earlier today you matched the description perfectly to the young man that stopped the bank robbery! And that scar across your forehead? It's exactly the same! Same angle, length and shape! Can't hide that unless you were wearing a ridiculous helmet!"
Pinching his nose, Gohan sighed. "You shout like my mom…seriously. Alright, fine, I'm the gold fighter or whatever name people gave me. Can I leave now? I was going to go train"
Clearly victorious, Videl took a wide stance as she lightly laughed. "Hahaha! This is perfect. I've watched the videos of the cell games…all those strange people that showed up to fight that monster seven years ago. The flying…those strange beams of light. My dad says it was madness. Glad he told the world the truth that it was that young boy….wait…YOU'RE THE DELIVERY BOY THAT BEAT CELL!" Eyes clearly wavering, Videl easily connected the dots as she pointed once more. "IT MAKES TOTAL SENSE! Seven years ago you were still a kid, now your back as the Gold Fighter!"
"Fine, yes. I beat Cell too. Still, they gave me such a ridiculous name! They thought I was delivering sandwiches to your dad!" Crossing his arms over his broad chest, the large trailing scar along his left bicep and shoulder were clearly seen from the sleeveless outfit he wore as Gohan grumbled about stupid reporters.
Videl went silent, studying the old wound as she approached. "You got this from Cell…didn't you? The whole world saw that fight…how terrible it was" Looking up, Videl was in slight awe. "Gohan…you saved the whole world. Billions of people and nobody knows your name"
"I didn't save the world for recognition or fame. I saved it to protect life…my home and family along with everybody else's"
Videl went silent for a minute, looking over the sprawling view past the edge of the cliff. "Thanks for saving us"
"It's what I do" Starting to lift off into the air, Gohan felt a hand wrap around his boot.
"Not so fast, mister! You're going to train me!"
Looking down in disbelief, Gohan tried to shake Videl off. "Your relentless!"
"Promise me you'll teach me to fly!"
Letting out another weary sigh, Gohan finally relented. "Fine. I was going to spar with my old master anyway. You can watch our fight, then after ward if you still want to learn, I'll teach you how to fly"
"YES!" Jumping up in obvious joy, Videl threw a capsule, summoning her jet-copter once more. Climbing in the cockpit, she was clearly watching Gohan as the young man shook his head.
"Seriously. Are all women insane?"
Gildarts shook his head in complete understanding. "That poor man. He really has no idea about the insanity about to befall his life from women"
"Indeed" Shaking his head in remorse, Makarov felt pity for Gohan who was roped into training Videl against his will.
"Ahem" Coughing lightly, Cana stared at her father, her gaze glaring as several other women of the guild stared with obvious intent to cause bodily harm.
"What?"
"You know what, dad. Women are not crazy" Huffing, Cana ignored her father while Juvia contemplated near her beloved Gray.
"Juvia wonders who Cell was. Sounds like a bad person"
"Probably an actual monster if this Gohan saved the entire planet. And he did it when he was a kid. That's…pretty amazing actually" Gray admitted as he couldn't imagine the power of some creature that threatened the whole world.
"So, like Acnologia? He's terrifyingly strong. But! One day, I'll beat him!" Slamming his right fist into his left palm, Natsu was clearly determined.
"Or somebody stronger, Natsu. We've only witnessed a few abilities of Gohan. For him, Acnologia could be a light sparring match and a low level threat" Erza reasoned with slight fascination. After all, this young man was clearly impressive with his duty to protect and his dedication to peace.
"Maybe if we keep watching we'll get to watch a fight? Gohan was talking about meeting somebody named Piccolo" Romeo reasoned, which put the guild back into observation mode.
Flying above the landscape dotted with several villages and farms, it soon turned into thick forests as lakes, rivers and streams of clean, sparkling water flowed. Craning his head to the right, Gohan gave another weary sigh as Videl followed in her jet, the girl laser focused.
Having powered down into his base state, the young man flew with ease, often flying right next to the bubble canopy of Videl's aircraft.
Mountains soon loomed, the towering peaks capped with snow as Gohan turned slightly north, then started to lower himself toward a series of waterfalls. Blue, sparkling water gushed over the edges, falling several hundred feet into a clear water lake. Another river then flowed into the depths of the forest, creating a beautiful landscape.
Videl and Gohan landed nearby in a small clearing along the lake edge, the young woman climbing out in a small sense of awe.
"It's beautiful here" Smiling at the chirping of several birds, they fluttered away toward a lone person.
Sitting cross legged on a ledge near the base of the water fall, Picollo was wearing a purple Gi, along with a white turban and shoulder mantle. Slowly opening his eyes, they were hard and cold, his stoic face a frown before slowly moving into a very slight smile.
"Gohan. Already sick of the city?"
Rubbing the back of his head, the young man grinned. "Not exactly, Piccolo. Videl here figured out I beat Cell and wants to learn how to fly. I figured letting her watch a match between us would help? Or maybe not? I've never actually taught anybody to fly"
"Hmm" Standing up, Piccolo jumped down from his ledge, his gaze studying the young woman. Going silent for a moment, he finally crossed his arms. "At least she's stronger than her loud mouth of a father"
Videl looked stunned, taking a foot back. "What? Why would you say that? My dad helped defeat Cell! No way I'm stronger than him! Last time I fought him I lost!"
Piccolo grunted, his full height looming over Videl who was still in disbelief. "Show me your fighting stance"
Quickly nodding, Videl took her stance, immediately earning a groan from Piccolo. "Terrible. Unless you happen to be a six foot man, you need to change your style"
"But this is the Satan style. My father taught me and I've been using it to save people. Stop crime" Clearly showing signs of being upset, Videl kept still as Piccolo frowned.
"Commendable that you use it for good, but this is a style built around mass, height and somebody far larger than you" Turning his head slightly, Piccolo glanced at Gohan. "Is she really the daughter of Hercule?"
"I guess? At least he didn't try to take the credit and drag our names through the mud"
"No, he just said we were all his secret pupils and part of the 'Satan Strike Force' But, if you train her, she might actually be worthy…for a human that is" Returning that same gaze to Videl, Piccolo pointed to several low boulders. "Stay over there and try to observe our fight. Keep in mind that neither of us are using our full range of abilities or strength"
"Okay" Moving to the pile of rocks, Videl sat down on one, her curiosity piqued.
"Same as always?"
"Sure" Grinning with anticipation, both took fighting stances, the two separated by several yards as Videl moved to a rock and sat, the female watching with extreme focus.
Nothing happened for several seconds, both Piccolo and Gohan staring each other down, neither moving nor blinking.
Wind rustled between them, shifting several leaves and the grass beneath their feet.
Suddenly lunging forward in a burst of speed, Piccolo's feet didn't even touch the ground as he punched toward Gohan, the shockwave of power rippling outward as his fist smashed against the crossed arms of his former student. Barely moving as nearby trees bent, Gohan grinned before the two moved into a flurry of punches and kicks. Blocks, counter-attacks and parrying blows landed dozens of times per second, each attack carrying the strength of a freight train.
"N…no way…" Videl stammered as she watched in complete awe, the woman realizing how outclassed she truly was.
Suddenly, Gohan was punched in the gut, the force of Piccolo's uppercut carrying him into the sky. Flipping on nothing as the green skinned alien passed, Gohan kicked him in the back, only for the two to reenter a flurry of blows and kicks hundreds of feet above the forest. Shockwaves began to flare outward from dozens of rapid impacts, the energy released shaking the ground as the native life began to run.
Gohan was kicked away, the young man flying toward the nearby mountain, only to halt in mid air, then flip and kick toward Piccolo. Blocking, the Namekian grunted, then tried to counter, only to be blocked himself. Moving faster and faster, both combatants blipped out of view, their motions too fast for the eye to see as invisible shockwaves rustled the region.
"Holy crap! I can't even keep up!" Gray exclaimed, the man clearly shocked at how fast and powerful these two were.
"I had no idea Piccolo was going to be an alien! And both of them can fly!" Lucy nearly screamed out, the poor girl suddenly feeling weak and insignificant compared to these two.
"Woah…I bet they could actually fight that Saitama guy from earlier!" Natsu exclaimed, the young man clearly excited as the two continued to spar.
"I doubt any of us…or the entire guild could defeat either of them" Lisanna concluded with a quiver in her tone, the young woman wincing as Gohan took a fresh uppercut to the chin, only to knee Piccolo in the stomach.
"What's really terrifying is that both said they were holding back. Gohan hasn't even gone into his gold form" Laxus observed with a slight gulp, the mage realizing how outmatched he was.
"Is that all you got, Gohan!?" Throwing off his mantle and helmet, Piccolo's pointed ears, antenna and bare shoulders could now be seen…along with several minor bruises.
"You know I can always keep fighting, Piccolo!" Flying forward, Gohan feinted a jab, then punched with his right, throwing off his friend. Crossing his arms in a block, Piccolo was pushed backward, than flew upward to evade the following kick. Extending his hand as Gohan followed, Piccolo unleashed several yellow orbs at the young man, who rapidly flew left to avoid the sudden explosions. Coming to a halt, Gohan rose his hands above his head, a flaring ball of energy suddenly forming between his two palms. "MASENKO-HA!"
Yellow with tints of purple, the beam flew toward Piccolo, who swatted it upwards, the blast screaming into the air before exploding in a massive fireball.
"This is insane…They can shoot energy from their hands!?" Gajeel asked in some need for clarity as Levy tried to remain calm. "Well…uh…we can use magic. Maybe this is like that?" Obviously nervous, the script mage gulped as more energy beams were thrown back and forth, only to be blocked, evaded, or even taken head on.
Hovering in mid air, Gohan now sported a few bruises as he stared across the expanse at Piccolo. Smirking, the young man cupped his hands to his side while starting to chant. "Ka-"
Raising two fingers toward his forehead, the tips started to spark as Piccolo hovered, his Gi torn in several places. "Special—"
"Me—ha-me" Pulling his arms toward his right side, a bluish ball of energy began to spark and roil between the hands, the light nearly pure as it grew in size.
"Beam…CANNON!"
"HA!" Unleashing both of their attacks, A swirling orb of blue energy shot from Gohan's palms as he pointed his hands forward. Leaving a trail of blue afterglow, the attack raced through the air toward Piccolo.
A piercing yellow beam surrounded by a swirl of light burned through the air toward the energy wave, colliding in a halfway point to produce a rippling explosion that shook the ground. Blowing down grass and toppling several trees, the two combatants lowered themselves to the ground, both displaying minor damage.
"That….was insane" Kamika admitted, the sword woman resting a hand on the hilt of her sheathed blade. Looking down at the weapon, she didn't think it would be useful against those two monsters of peace.
"AWESOME! I liked the explosion part!" Natsu cheered with an obvious smile.
"You would" Lucy huffed, fearing that Natsu…and Gray would start trying to figure out how to do these insane energy attacks on the job and no doubt ruining the reward.
"Both of them displayed amazing control for the amount of energy they have. I have no doubt years of training went into developing their skills" Makarov concluded with a slight tremble in his voice. "Thankfully Natsu or any of them can't do this. They already cause enough damage!"
Videl walked up, her eyes like saucers as she gulped, trying to find words. "T..th…that was insane…I've nev—"
"Ah, that was just a light spar. We didn't even power up past our base forms" Laughing at the still stuttering girl, Gohan looked up at the blue sky, enjoying the sunlight falling upon them all. Suddenly having his stomach growl, Gohan laughed. "Guess I should go eat"
"Ugh. You're a bottomless pit like Vegeta and your father. I'm going to go back to meditating. Don't forget your student"
"Least I won't throw her at a mountain"
"That only happened once" Hovering into the air, Piccolo returned to his outcropping near the waterfall to settle into meditation once more.
"Come on Videl. Let's go to my place, I'll assess your abilities and set up a training regimen for you to start"
"Right…yeah" Gulping, the young woman was still in shock from witnessing power that she had no idea existed. Climbing into her Jet-copter, the engines soon whined as the craft lifted upward. Following Gohan who flew next to her, they made their way Eastward toward Orange Star City.
The device initiated another timeskip as the screen went black, then refilled with the urban sprawl of the city.
Landing with ease, Gohan waited as Videl capsulated her vehicle, the air transport disappearing in a fresh cloud of smoke.
"This is your house? It looks nice" Walking up the short path toward the front door, Videl halted as a figure stood there, leaning against the door.
Clearly a woman, she had emerald tinted skin while bouncy, curled red hair fell down toward her rear end. Pointed ears adorned the side of her head, each pierced with dangling earrings of gold. Wearing a modest red dress with a slight exposure of cleavage, the woman waved with a warm smile. "Gohan! Hi!"
"No way…"
"Zangya? What are you doing here?" Walking up, Gohan unlocked the door, allowing the stunning red head inside as Videl continued to stand on the walkway in shock.
"Oh you, know. Was in the neighborhood and wanted to check out your new place" Looking around at the living room with a large television, an L-shaped couch and a central coffee table, Zangya strolled in toward the kitchen.
"WOAH! She's hot!" Bicslow exclaimed loudly, the helmeted man smiling at the sight.
"She's an alien!" Evergreen pointed out, clearly disgusted with her teammate.
"So? Doesn't change the fact that she's quite the looker" Gildarts said in support, the father nodding in approval. "This Gohan has great taste"
Videl finally caught up, running inside the house before pointing a finger. "YOUR ZANGYA! The world famous supermodel!"
"Guilty as charged. And your…Hercule's daughter if I'm not mistaken"
"I…Gohan! Why didn't you tell me you knew Zangya!?"
"But I did this morning?"
"Yeah! But you told me like a sarcastic ass! Who would believe it!? Uh…I need to sit down, too many shocks and world shattering truth's today…" Moving to the couch, Videl simply slumped against the back, massaging her temples.
"Bringing young women to your house already Gohan, what will your mother think?" Clearly impish, Zangya leaned against the central island of the kitchen, the open concept of the house connecting the livable area.
Gohan wilted. "Please don't. Half the reason she allowed this was so I could and I quote. "Meet a nice girl, get married and give her grandchildren"
"She really does want grandchildren to spoil" Laughing richly, Zangya enjoyed the discomfort of her friend.
"AHHH! That means you weren't lying about knowing Bulma Briefs either!" Coming out of her funk, Videl stared at Gohan with clear daggers. "Just what other secrets do you have, Gohan?"
"Technically, I never lied or anything. You just didn't believe me"
"….Shut up" Huffing, Videl crossed her arms in a pout.
"So, how's the modeling going anyway?"
"Oh, you know, world famous exotic beauty. Rich, lavish lifestyle. Constant proposals from men for marriage. Photo shoots, free clothes and perfumes. Honestly, I never thought my life would turn out this great"
Videl turned her attention to Zangya, studying the very beautiful woman that was completely at ease around Gohan. "So…how do you know Gohan?"
"He saved my life when I came to this planet six years ago. I was part of Bojack's pirate crew, and he…he was a monster. He wanted to conquer this planet, probably would have killed most of the people here too" Looking up at the ceiling, Zangya pulled the old memories forward. "During our battle with Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo and Krillin, my boss was going to kill me as a distraction. Gohan prevented it, saw some good in me despite all I had done. By the end of the battle, I was the only one left and some of the others thought killing me was the only option to keep the Earth safe" Sighing, she pressed a slender hand to her bosom. "Gohan gave me a chance to live a peaceful life. At first I was…so angry and mistrusting, but over time….he has a pure heart, Videl. Having him in your life will only make it better"
"No way…um…can you turn gold like he can? Or fly and shoot those energy blasts?"
"Well not the gold thing. That's a racial trait. But flying, martial arts, I'm probably the third strongest person on this planet" Smiling with a feminine chuckle, Videl groaned before falling back onto the couch.
"It's like there's this super powered club of people that nobody knows about! …That's right! You were going to start my training!"
"Are you sure? Why not start tomorrow after you process all of this. Not every day you learn about aliens, flying or meet super models"
Standing up, Videl marched toward Gohan. "You're not weaseling your way out of this, Gohan! I'm going to learn how to fly and now, energy attacks!"
"Can I at least eat something first?"
"OH! I'll cook you something! After all, I'm a pretty decent chef myself" Moving toward the refrigerator, Zangya looked inside, finding it stocked with everything she would need.
Taking a seat at the island counter top, Videl sat next to Gohan, the young woman watching Zangya work. "Is it rude to ask what species you are? You're green like Piccolo, but I don't think you're the same"
"I'm a Hera…the last of my species. Gohan there is one of four surviving Saiyans…a fallen warrior race"
Turning to Gohan, Videl breathed deeply, trying to control her anger and shock. "You're an alien too?"
Gohan shrugged without a care. "Just half. My mom's human. My dad was a Saiyan and that's how I can turn my hair gold. Super Saiyan is a massive power boost that increases speed, strength and energy by at least ten times my base form"
"He's an alien too! He doesn't look like one at all! Zangya and Piccolo make sense, but Gohan!? He looks like a normal man!" Lucy shouted in an obvious freak out.
"Maybe he transforms into some sort of fish man!" Happy concluded, only to have a plate thrown in his direction.
"Or his species just looks like humans? I really haven't seen anything strange…aside from the flying and energy beams he shoots from his hands" Mira stated, finding it pretty reasonable.
"Your all missing the point" Kinana stated softly, the secondary barmaid setting a hand to her ample chest. "Zangya is the last of her species. Everybody she knew or loved is gone…her whole world is gone. Gohan is one of four of these Saiyans which means that planet is gone too. Could you imagine how lonely that is? Or how terrible it is to survive a near total genocide? They may be unbelievably strong, but that loss…I couldn't imagine being the last human alive"
The guild went quiet for a few minutes, the implications of planetary losses a near impossible thing to think about.
"Should we keep watching?" Levy asked Mira, her question heard among many in the guild.
"We did get to see a few super powered beings and a young man clearly responsible with his strength. But I believe we can move on to the next universe…as long as it's not another Raccoon City again" Bisca commented, the attractive mother hopeful that the next timeline was this peaceful as well.
"We all hope that" Wendy stated as Levy hit the red button, ending the connection as the viewing cube powered down once more.
"Should I press the green button? Or wait a few minutes?" Mira asked Lucy, the blonde massaging her temple.
"I'm still trying to get over the fact that those people can shoot energy from their hands and can fly like it's nothing. Let's just take a few minutes, process that this last universe is filled with aliens, warrior races, and who knows what else"
"Fair enough" Wiping a few droplets of sweat from her brow, Mira went to get some more water, the humid day starting to filter into the guild once more.
With that, the mages of Fairy Tail took a break as some talked about Gohan, aliens or if they could use magic in a similar fashion.
So, just a calm little slice of life from DBZ. Yes, I realize that Zangya dies in the Bojack movie, or that Gohan is a wimp who dresses like Saiyaman, but why not make it a bit different? Maybe I'll do a revisit of some big fight with Cell or something, but like I said, a calm little slice of life.
Debating between FF7 or Zom100 next…possibly Bleach during the arrival at the soul society. Not sure.
Anyway, hope you all enjoy the chapter.
