Chapter 3: A Pale Misery (2/3)

Ellie Williams:

Ellie, Joel, Tommy and Jesse were always convinced that nothing could shock them anymore, but that entire day was proving to be an example of how wrong they were. Because right now, they were taking turns to watch through the scope of the rifle to see something that was beyond terrifying.

From a distance, right in front of the big library where they kept most of the books for the Jackson's habitants to read. Was one of the masked people that they saw on the footage early that day, the one called Venus. Despite the woman herself being quite scary, it was the things that she had on a tight leash that truly terrified them.

"Wh-what the hell is that!?" Jesse asked as he looked through the scope.

"By what Fox Boy said, one of that woman's creations." Joel pointed out, clearly repulsed by what he saw.

"One?" Tommy clearly didn't like the implication that there's more of them.

Ellie, who was standing next to Jesse, simply grabbed the rifle once again to look at the things that the woman was holding. Five leashes that were connected around five infected. But those infected were something that they never saw before. Those things seemed to be a multi-humanoid merge abomination, with body parts and pieces of the strangely shaped fungus. As Ellie observed those things from the scope of the rifle, she ended up spotting that woman grabbing something from inside her outfit. What is she doing? She asked herself as she watched Venus from afar.

In less than a minute, all of those armored people wearing featureless masks, made a strange wall in front of the masked woman. With the people that were hiding inside the library shooting at them but the bullets barely scratched their armor. But then, Venus made a strange signal and all of them fired at the library at once with their submachine gun in perfect synchronization. Forcing everyone at the library to take cover. As soon as their guns ran out of ammo however, the ones standing in the middle of the formation stepped forward and then moved out of the way to allow Venus to move forward.

The woman wearing a mask then pulled out something that seemed to be a smoke grenade from inside her robe. Wasting no time, she pulled the trim from the grenade and tossed into the library. Managing to throw through one of the windows.

"Why did she toss-" Ellie was about to ask the guys what could she be trying to do with that smoke grenade. Until she saw some strange blue smoke coming out of the window that the smoke grenade went through.

"KKKKKKKKRRRRRRRR!" Basically, all of them were startled by the loud noise that those infected made. Which shockingly, could be heard even by that distance.

After this, Ellie had no need to look through the scope anymore, as they could all see the infected charging towards the library and basically break through the main door, which was probably blocked, to get inside. All that they heard after that, were gunshot and very loud screaming.

Jesse covered his ears in a futile attempt to stop the agonizing sound.

Tommy just looked away while touching his face in clear shock.

Ellie and Joel simply looked at one another with very similar facial expressions. It only took a second for Ellie to approach Joel and bury her face on his chest with him embracing her a second after. This is so fucking screwed... That was her opinion about the situation as the sound of gunfire and screams died down. But before Ellie could say anything to Joel, Jesse spoke first.

"Oh fuck." Jesse spoke as he looked through the scope of the rifle.

Getting their attention, both Joel and Ellie moved their heads to look at their Asian friend to see what was the problem. Once they moved their heads they saw that two of those armored people were dragging someone towards the creepy woman.

"Oh shit..." Ellie recognized the person being dragged right away.

It was none other than Seth.

"What are they doing?" Tommy asked as he approached the ledge to check.

All that they could see were two armored men dragging Seth towards the disturbing looking woman as he struggled to break free from their holds. Eventually, they were facing each other, with the masked woman called Venus, just standing there unmoving as he struggled to try to get away from there. For a whole minute, nothing happened, until the woman partially lifted a part of her mask, only enough to expose her mouth. "Wha-" Joel was about to say something, but he closed his mouth when he saw what happened next. The masked woman called Venus, grabbed Seth's head and bit him on the nose.

"Oh fuck..." Ellie said as Venus completely bites Seth's nose off.

"What the?!" Jesse looks away in clear repulsion as Seth screamed after his nose was bitten off by the woman.

The armored man let go of him as he collapsed on the ground as the spot where his nose used to be, bleed profoundly. But it wasn't long before the woman got on top of him and to their horror, started to lick the blood that was coming out of the spot. "Oh god..." Ellie felt a severe urge to vomit, which in the end, she ended up doing after she saw the woman actually bite his cheek off as well and eat it.

"Hey..." Joel patted her back as she vomited on the ledge.

"What's with this fucking people?!" Ellie asked as each of them seemed worse than the other. "Fuck, Dina and Maria are out there when the town is filled Psychos!" She was clearly concerned for her girlfriend and the woman that was practically family.

Tommy sighed and said. "She's right, Maria is out there somewhere and I have to find her."

Ellie and Joel turned around to respond to what Tommy said. Only for them to catch the sight of something awful that was standing right behind him.

"Behind you!" Joel yelled in desperation.

Standing behind Tommy, was the man with the gas mask that they saw on the video, wearing a different outfit that actually looked more disturbing than the previous one. Before Tommy could turn around to see him, the man in the gas mask that was apparently called Reaper, kicked the back of Tommy's knee and grabbed him from behind, with one hand holding a knife next to Tommy's throat and the other pointing a handgun at them from under Tommy's armpit .

"Shit!" Jesse pointed the rifle at him as soon as he noticed his presence.

Joel pointed the shotgun that Jesse brought at him.

Ellie pointed her handgun at the masked man.

All that they could hear was some very heavy breathing coming from the man. but it seemed like he was doing it on purpose. Tommy only had his hands up as the strange looking curved knife that resembled a claw was touching his throat, meaning that any sudden move could get him killed. Leaving the three of them in a difficult situation.

"Listen, there's no need for this." Tommy tried to speak to the one called Reaper.

"We must agree to disagree, sir." Reaper politely replied to what Tommy just said. "Unless you are going to tell me that none of you would have shot me on sight if you saw me coming."

"Yes, we would have shot you without thinking twice, but what's your point?" Joel asked the man. clearly ready to shoot him at the first chance he got.

"None, I was just pointing out what was wrong with what your brother just said, Mr. Miller." Reaper replied as he placed his handgun back on his holster, surprising everyone with the fact that he knew who Joel was.

But before any of them could react properly, the man with the gas mask stabbed the side of Tommy's thigh with the knife. "AAHH!" Before pushing him towards Joel and crashing the two brothers into one another and using the momentum to disarm Joel as Tommy fell on the floor, taking the shotgun off his hand and smashing the stock into Joel's face before tossing off the ledge. Ellie and Jesse tried to take aim but Joel was in the way, which he took advantage of by kneeing him on crotch and headbutting him on the forehead with his mask, causing him to fall back on the floor. Sadly, before Ellie could take aim and shoot him, the man closed the distance and easily disarmed Ellie by pushing the gun off her hand with the palm of his hand, sending her gun down the building before grabbing her and pushing her towards Jesse. Ellie ended up colliding with Jesse, which broke his balance and gave Reaper the opportunity to close the distance and easily disarm him by grabbing the rifle and kicking him on the knee before pulling the rifle away and hitting him on the head with the rifle stock. Knocking him out almost immediately.

"Each of you could have easily taken me down if you weren't so concerned about each other's well being." Reaper commented as he tossed the rifle off the building just like he did with the shotgun.

As he spoke however, Ellie stood up from the floor and pulled the switchblade from her pocket and attempted to attack him while he was unarmed. But it backfired horribly as Reaper easily grabbed her arm, redirected the blade and pushed it right into her shoulder. "AAHH!" She screamed in pain as she felt her own blade stabbing her.

"Brave, but foolish." That was his opinion on what Ellie just did as she fell backwards into the floor in pain.

"Ahh..." She heard a small grunt coming from Joel, who was clearly still a little dizzy from the headbutt he took, but was trying to reach out for his revolver to shoot Reaper. Sadly, the masked man noticed and casually walked towards Joel and pulled the gun off his hand at the moment he managed to point at him.

"A Taurus Model 66, 357 Magnum..." Reaper identified the revolver easily. "Interesting choice, revolvers are reliable but they lack when it comes to capacity." He pointed out the obvious flaws of a revolver.

"Aaahhh... " Tommy, who still had the knife on his leg, grunted in pain. "What do you want?" He asked the man as he clearly knew that they were all in danger.

"I want nothing, it is your wife that requires your attention." Reaper replied, shocking everyone except for Jesse, who was still knocked out.

"Maria?!" Tommy asked.

"Yes, she is awaiting you at a place called the Tipsy Bison alongside the other prisoners." Reaper informed Tommy. "You and your brother shall come with me peacefully and I assure you that no further harm will come for you or your family members."

"No fucking way!" Ellie, who was still on the floor with her switchblade stuck on her shoulder, yelled.

"Ellie!" Joel was quick to shut her up after she said that. "How do we know that you ain't going to do anything with us?" He asked, apparently considering his offer.

"If I had any desire to kill any of you, do you think we would even be speaking at this moment?" He asked the obvious question as he clearly wasn't trying to kill any of them when he attacked.

Joel sighed in response. "Okay..."

"Joel!" Ellie didn't like that at all. "Ahhh..." But the pain on her shoulder made it difficult to speak.

"Ellie, stop moving." Joel told her as the girl kept making abrupt moves that only caused more pain.

"Ahhh..." Suddenly, Jesse woke up clearly dizzy from the blow he took.

"Jesse..." Ellie called out for her friend.

Reaper approached him and immediately grabbed Jesse's handgun from the holster. Then he dismantled it in less than a second and tossed the parts away just like he did their other guns. Then got down to one knee. "Jesse, you're the one that captured Fox Boy." He pointed out as Jesse justifiably seemed frightened by the man called Reaper. "I would praise you for it if I didn't know that he actually went with you willingly." There was a lot of certainty in his voice. Ellie actually thinks he's right because they actually saw him taking five men out on that footage and he managed to knock Joel out, so it actually made sense that he didn't even try to fight when Jesse and the others got him.

"Do you know where he is?" Jesse asked the man with the gas mask.

Ellie stared at him with a very confused face, because she couldn't understand why the hell does he want to know where that Albino Weirdo is. Until she actually remembered that Dina went after him, and she could still be with him. So she listened closely to her answer.

"The last time I saw him, he was being dragged into a house by a girl called Dina while he was unconscious." Reaper responded as he stood up.

"What?!" Ellie asked him, clearly confused by what she just heard.

Reaper then moved his head to look at the distance from the ledge. Before he grabbed Jesse and stood him up, but before any of them could react, he instead pointed at the distance. "There he is." Jesse looked at the direction that he was pointing right away and saw him. "If you run, you and your friend can catch up to them." Her friend simply stared at the masked man, who simply stared at him back in complete silence.

Jesse then took the hint and immediately moved to help Ellie up. "Come on..." He told her as he helped her stand. "I saw Dina, she's not far away from here." Ellie immediately stared at Jesse in response to that and quickly stood up despite the horrible pain of the knife on her shoulder.

But then she stared at Joel who was helping Tommy standing. The two simply stared back at her and said. "Just go, we're going to be okay." Joel assured her and Tommy nodded in response.

She was visibly reluctant to leave the two of them with the masked man. "We can't do anything and we have to get to Dina." Jesse whispered in her ear as he knew that they were no match against Reaper.

The girl with auburn hair was still reluctant but he understood that Jesse was right. But he had one thing that she had to ask. "Why?" She asked the one called Reaper.

"Because a very interesting turn of events has occurred and I am curious to see how it will play out." Reaper answered Ellie's question before signaling the two to get out of there.

Jesse gently grabbed Ellie and led her towards the exit, with her taking a final look at Joel, who just nodded at her in reassurance.

Fox Boy:

"It's going to get dark soon." Fox Boy pointed out as he looked at the sky. "And I think another winter storm is going to happen."

"As if things couldn't get worse." Dina replied.

Fox Boy and Dina were currently walking together, but the albino boy didn't know where they were going and was just following Dina. She was carrying aHeckler & Koch MP5 that she got from the fallen Faceless that Fox Boy killed.

"Come on..." Dina grabbed his arm since Fox Boy basically stopped in the middle of the way to look at the sky.

"Where are we going again?" He asked her as Dina limped in front of him.

"We're going to the center to see if there's anything we can do to help." Dina explained to him as she moved with difficulty due to her injured leg.

"But, what can we do?" Fox Boy asked as there was no way to stop the execution if the supreme leader had ordered.

"I don't know, but I have to see if there's anything that can be done or anyone that can be helped." Dina spoke while visibly upset.

Fox Boy didn't like seeing her upset. "Okay... I'm gonna help you before my demise arrives then." He decided to tell her to see if it helped, but Dina only made a confused face in response.

"Before your demise arrives?" She asked him.

"I killed three Faceless, that's an act of betrayal." He pointed out to her, since killing their own people unless there's a good reason is strictly prohibited and saving someone marked for execution is not a good reason at all. "I'll be executed as soon as I'm caught." Fox Boy informed her. "But, If I can help you before that happens I'll be satisfied."

"What the hell?" She seemed annoyed with him for some reason. "Don't be so... Certain that you're going to die, it's depressing." That was her response to what he said.

He was confused for a second, but then, Fox Boy saw that Dina was right. "Oh, you're right." He lifted his hand with his index finger extended. "Venus will probably just turn me into one of her creations." That was what was most likely to happen.

"What the fuck!?" Dina frowned in response to what he just said. "That's even worse!" She seemed to be mad at him for some reason. "Look," The pretty girl touched his shoulder. "No one is going to kill you or turn you into those fucked up infected, okay?"

"Why not?" He asked, since betrayal is usually punished with that.

"Because I ain't letting anyone kill you." Dina assured him. "Not if I can help it, understand."

Fox Boy didn't really understand. There was nothing that she could do if the Masked Ones decided to end him. But if they tried to hurt Dina, he would probably do anything in his power to protect her. Not knowing how to respond, he decided to say something so she won't be mad at him. "I don't really understand but okay..." That was his response. "But if anyone tries to kill you, I'll do whatever it takes to make sure they fail."

She smiled at him. "Good, because I promise to do the same thing for you."

Fox Boy smiled as well, but she couldn't see it because of the mask. "Really...?"

"Really." She confirmed it to him. "Now, let's get moving, Cute Boy."

"Cute Boy?" He wondered if she actually mistook his name.

"Yes, Cute Boy because you're super cute." Dina winked at him before she signalled him to keep moving.

He did it without question. Cute Boy... I'm not cute, rabbits are cute, like Mr. Bunny... Which was the reason why his sword's pommel was the shape of Mr. Bunny's head. Butterflies and Dolphins are cute too, I filled my special box with it after I found in that school that Jester burned to the ground. But then, he remembered something. My box, the rest of my weapons and equipment is there. But I don't know where it is located.

Fox Boy was focused on his thoughts as he followed behind Dina. Until the two actually arrived at what appeared to be a cemetery. Only for them to catch the sight of five Faceless standing next to Jester's helicopter.

"Oh no." Dina whispered as she crouched and hid herself behind a tombstone. Fox Boy, on the other hand, simply stood there like nothing was wrong. Isn't it disrespectful? Fox Boy thought and he saw some tombstones that were destroyed to make space for the helicopter. He took one look at Dina, before he actually approached them. "Hey." She called out for him and moved away from her.

The moment Fox Boy approached the five, they all saluted the albino boy. He simply waved at them in response before he spoke through sign language. [What are the five of you doing here?] He asked them.

[Ghost Head has ordered us to stay put.] One of the Faceless responded.

[Is Ghost Head here?] Fox Boy asked.

[No, his current location is unknown.]

Fox Boy was relieved as he wouldn't know what to do if Ghost Head was there. [Does anyone know where our armament is?] He needed to ask. [I need the rest of my equipment.]

[The Arsenal was not brought into this town, the Supreme Leader needed elsewhere.] The Faceless told him. [But your equipment is most likely inside Jester's helicopter.]

Oh yes, I forgot about the helicopter. Fox Boy thought about it and it made complete sense. [Excuse me.] The albino boy then moved past the five Faceless in order to enter the helicopter.

Ellie Williams:

"What the fuck, we have to do something." Ellie whispered to Jesse as the two hid behind a tombstone. "Owww..." The switchblade was still on her shoulder, since she had nothing to treat the wound if she removed it.

"Do what?" It was Jesse's reply. They weren't able to recover their guns, since reaching for them would take too long and they were afraid to miss Dina as a result. "Dina has more chances against them than we do to be honest." Since she was actually carrying a submachine gun while she hid behind a tombstone.

"What the hell is she doing there, and where the fuck is that Albino Weirdo?!" She asks in clear worry as she sees those armored men standing in front of a helicopter while Dina hides behind a tombstone not far away from them.

"I don't know, but we have to do something, maybe a distraction or-" Jesse was trying to formulate a plan to help Dina, but he stopped talking when sees that one of them had spotted her.

"No,no,no... Ahhh..." Ellie spoke in desperation as she saw the five armored men surrounding Dina. Her girlfriend drops her weapons and puts her hands in the air. "We have to help her!" Ellie was about to run there despite not having any plan.

Until...

Fox Boy comes out of the helicopter looking different. He was wearing some type of tactical vest that had a holster on it that had a revolver on it and a utility belt that had pouches on it. But the thing that stood out the most, was the strange assault rifle that he was carrying. As they watched, Fox Boy closed the distance and with no difficulty whatsoever, killed all five by shooting them all with what appeared to be shotgun shots.

"What the hell?!" It was Jesse's reaction as they see the masked boy easily dispatched the five armored men.

But Ellie barely reacted to Jesse's question, instead, she immediately got out of the cover and ran towards Dina. With Jesse following behind her as the two traversed through the cemetery. "Dina!" The girl with auburn hair called her girlfriend's name.

"Ellie!" Dina heard her and turned around to see her. She limped towards her and the two quickly got close.

"Why are you limping?!" It was the first thing that Ellie asked.

"Why is your knife on your shoulder?!" Dina replied with a question of her own while being shocked by the sight of it.

Fox Boy got closer and waved at them happily. "Hi Ellie." First towards Ellie. "Hi Jesse." Then towards Jesse.

Jesse, who just got close to the three of them, sighed in response before saying. "Hey."

Joel Miller:

"Maria!"

After Ellie and Jesse left to go try to find Dina. Joel and Tommy were forced to accompany the masked man called Reaper. He took them to the bar belonging to the man that they saw enduring a painful death at the hands of the masked woman named Venus. Once the two brothers arrived at the location, they were shocked to see an absurd amount of people being held there at gunpoint, including Maria.

"Are you okay?" Maria immediately asked her husband in deep concern as she saw him running towards her while limping.

"I was better." Tommy replied. The one called Reaper was nice enough to lend Joel a first aid kit to help him tend the wound that was on Tommy's leg. Though, he definitely would have preferred to be able to do the same thing for Ellie, as he was deeply worried because of that knife on her shoulder.

"Did you find Ellie?" Maria asked Joel.

"I did, but we got separated again." Joel informed her.

"I'm so sorry..." Maria apologized before hugging him as well.

But as soon as they separated, the one called Reaper approached the three of them.

"What is this about?" Maria asked him as soon as he approached him. "You're the commander aren't you?"

"I am nothing but a mere prisoner of Death." Reaper responded to her question. "While all of you are nothing but mere prisoners of Life."

Joel folded his arms in response to what he said.

Tommy found a chair to sit down because of his leg.

"Could you please spare me of these damn riddles and actually tell me what exactly do you want from us?" Maria asked him, clearly not in the mood for this. "Because I don't think you brought us here just to prove a point."

Joel moved his head and the large group of men, women and children looked completely terrified by the armored man holding them at gunpoint. Only for them to become even more terrified when the other masked man came through the door. It was the massive man called Ghost Head, who had just entered the Tipsy Bison to join them. Approaching them with his very heavy steps that gave Joel a very uneasy feeling. The moment he got close enough, it became even more terrifying due to how much he towered over them. His heavy looking armor only served to increase that, as the amount of scratches it had only indicated that he had been in a lot of battles.

"Report." Reaper spoke.

"Half of this town's population has been eliminated." The one called Ghost Head spoke in a deep, throaty rasp voice that only sounded worse because of the helmet.

"WHAT!?" Maria could not believe what she just heard.

Tommy just widened his eyes in response and Joel sighed in deep frustration.

"The other half has been taken to the center for execution." Ghost Head completely ignored them and continued to speak to Reaper. "Shall they be taken to the center as well?" He was referring to the people that were being held captive there.

"It depends." Reaper responded.

"It depends on what!? Maria asked in worry as the situation was completely out of hand.

Reaper ignored Maria and walked past her to approach Joel, standing face to face in front of him. Before he pulled out Joel's revolver and placed it in his hand. Leaving Joel confused as he hears the heavy breathing coming from the man wearing a gas mask. "I can see in your eyes, the eyes of someone that has done things that most wouldn't be capable of doing." Reaper pointed out as he stared deeply into Joel's eyes, while Joel could only see the visor of his gas mask without being able to tell what the eyes behind it looked like. "And not, I can tell you are the only ones that can actually make this type of decision."

Joel was very confused. "What decision?" He asked the man, despite being afraid of hearing the answer.

All that the man did was turn his back at Joel and took a few steps away from them. With Joel, Maria and Tommy looking at him as he did. But then he turned around and said, "Shoot your brother and his wife, and all of the habitants of Jackson City that are currently being held inside this bar will be allowed to leave the town unharmed." The three of them widened their eyes in deep shock after hearing what he just said. "Or, you put the gun down and the three of you will be allowed to walk out of here but only after you witness all of them getting executed."

"WHAT!?" Maria yelled in response.

"You fucking sadist bastard!" Tommy justifiably was angry after hearing that proposition. "What the hell do you even gain by doing that?!"

"You have until the count of ten and I'm certain that you have the urge to shoot me instead, but I advise you against it since you are outnumbered and I'm wearing protective gear under this ridiculous outfit." Reaper warned Joel in a painfully calm voice.

"Joel, you can-" Maria tried to speak to him but she was interrupted by Reaper's voice.

"Think carefully about your next decision, Mr. Miller." Reaper spoke to him. "Especially since you will be escorted out of this town alongside every single one of them and you will be leaving your daughter to fend for herself against us." Joel widened his eyes in response. "But if you put the gun down, not only you will be allowed to leave with your family members but I will order the Faceless to leave you all be for exactly an hour, so you and your family will have more than enough time to find her before we put this town to the flame."

"Put it to the flame!?" Tommy asked as he tried to stand up but his leg made it difficult and the wound on his arm was clearly causing him harm.

"One..." Completely ignoring Tommy's question, the masked man started the countdown. "Two..." Tommy and Maria simply looked at Joel in response to the countdown, with neither actually having anything to say about it. Joel on the other hand moved his head to look at everyone who were staring at him due to hearing Reaper's proposition. "Three..." Why is he doing this?! What does he gain from it? That was the only thing that he could not understand. "Four..."

"Joel, just..." Tommy tried to speak, but stopped the moment he looked at Maria. It was clear that if it was just him, he would tell Joel to do it, but he can't since Maria would be on the receiving end of it as well.

"Five..." Reaper's voice echoed through the room, with the cries of the people being held hostage being heard by Joel.

Maria touched Tommy's shoulder and the couple looked at one another. "Just do it." His brother's wife told him.

"Six..."

Tommy had no response to her request, he simply closed his eyes and held her hand tightly in response.

"Seven..."

Joel only held his revolver tightly as he watched his brother crying with his eyes closed and Maria closing her eyes in clear fear, all while hearing the cries of all of the Jackson's inhabitants inside that bar.

"Eight..."

His hand was shaken in a way that it never did before.

"Nine..."

In the end... The revolver fell from his hand.

"Ten..." And the countdown ended.

"I'm sorry..." Joel told his family members.

"KILL THEM ALL!" Ghost Head yelled at Faceless.

Ellie Williams:

"AH!" Ellie yelled as the pain in her shoulder was pretty bad.

"It's okay, it's okay..." Dina, who was holding her hand, told her in a soothing tone.

Currently, Ellie, Jesse, Dina and Fox Boy were all inside a helicopter that belonged to the masked guy named Jester. Where Fox Boy was tending the wound on Ellie's shoulder with a first aid kit that he found inside of the helicopter. Understandably, she did not want the Albino Weirdo to tend to her wound, but Dina was able to convince her to allow it since he apparently knew what he was doing. As much as she hated to admit, it was true, since he was able to remove the knife, disinfect and suture the stab wound really fast before he wrapped some bandages around it.

"All done," The masked boy spoke in that strange accent of his. "If it went a little deeper it could have caused some permanent damage on your shoulder." He informed her as he handed her switchblade to Dina."

"Let's be thankful that didn't happen then." Dina spoke as she folded Ellie's blade for her. "Thanks for helping her, Cute Boy." Ellie widened her eyes in response to what she just heard and was about to ask her why she called him that.

"Hey, are there guns inside these crates?" Jesse asked as he inspected some crates that were inside the helicopter.

"Yes." Fox Boy replied.

"Can you get them open for him?" Dina requested him. "Please?"

Fox Boy just nodded, before he stood up and went to help Jesse open the crates. Leaving Ellie and Dina by themselves.

"Cute Boy?" That was the first thing she asked her girlfriend.

"Yes," Dina replied while looking away embarrassed. "Because he's super fucking cute."

"Funny, your definition of cute is very different from mine." It was her response as she looked at the masked boy. More like, super fucking creepy... That was Ellie's opinion on the albino boy.

"What is this one?" Jesse, who was carrying a very cool looking handgun in his hand, asked Fox Boy.

"It's a Kimber Custom 1911, equipped with a wide array of accuracy-boosting enhancements to make it a high-performance target pistol." He responded to his question. "It utilizes a match-grade barrel and a match-grade trigger. The barrel is optimized with a Titanium Nitride finish, giving it a striking gold appearance while also improving durability and reducing friction. The trigger is V-Cut, and breaks cleanly at 4 to 5 lbs. For increased accuracy and faster target acquisition, this 1911 is outfitted with Tru-Glo TFX Day/Night sights with a high contrast orange ring on the front sight. For superior weapon control, it also possesses a black and gray G10 grips with aggressive texturing, and stepped cocking serrations on the slide for positive manipulations in any conditions." The boy wearing a mask gave a painfully long and unnecessary explanation about the handgun that Jesse was holding.

"Is this .45 ACP?" Jesse asked.

"No, it's chambered in a 9mm Parabellum." Fox Boy answered.

"Okay, I'll take it." Jesse placed on his holster to replace the gun he lost. Then he grabbed another gun from the crate. "What about this one?"

"Its a customized Beretta 92FS, with a wraparound grip panels were enlarged and extended below the magazine foot, and consisted of wood with synthetic recoil-absorbing inserts on the side panels and backstrap. This grip design also required replacing the hammer spring cap which normally would have a lanyard ring on the end. Further modifications include a heavier Brigadier slide allowing it to withstand the use of higher pressure rounds, target sights, an extended slide catch, and a stainless steel barrel." He gave another painful but shorter explanation about the gun.

"Here." Jesse handed the handgun to Ellie to replace the one she lost.

"Thanks, buddy." Ellie thanked him as she placed the handgun on her holster as well.

"Can I get a new cool gun too?" Dina asked, which made both Jesse and Ellie chuckle in response. But before any of them could reply to her request, Fox Boy appeared with a gun in his hands and he handed it to her.

"Thanks, Cute Boy." Dina thanked him as she grabbed the gun from his hands.

"Cute Boy?" And Jesse had the exact same reaction that Ellie did.

"Yes, Cute Boy, because he's super fucking cute." With Dina giving him the same response. "What kind of gun is this?" She asked Fox Boy, clearly wanting a complex explanation for her gun as well.

"It's a Hi-Power Double Action, is a semi-automatic short recoil operated locked breech firearm. It has a vertically tilting delayed camming action. This locking mechanism was borrowed from the Browning Hi-Power. The handgun features a double-action trigger which cocks and then releases the hammer. The recoil of the slide recocks the hammer, and all consecutive shots are fired from the single-action mode. A disconnector ensures the pistol fires in semi-automatic mode only. The spring-loaded external claw extractor is mounted in the slide, while the fixed ejector is inside the pistol's frame. It feeds from a dual-column box magazine with a 14-round cartridge capacity. The pistol is aimed using fixed iron sights with contrasting dots – a front blade and dovetailed rear notch." He gave yet another long and unnecessary explanation about the handgun that he handed Dina.

"Cool." Dina obviously didn't understand a single word that he said, but she probably found his absurdly detailed explanation to be cute or something like that, especially due to his weird accent.

"Okay, okay, okay..." Ellie spoke up as she was tired of that. "What are we going to do?" She asked her friend and girlfriend. "The whole town is filled with those masked people."

"There is nothing you can do, they will start with the mass executions at any moment now." Fox Boy spoke in response to what Ellie said.

That, however, surprised Jesse and Ellie. Causing Jesse to immediately grab Fox Boy's arm in order to ask. "Mass execution?! What the hell are you talking about!?" It was his question.

"The Supreme Leader has ordered the execution of every single habitant of this town and he also ordered the whole town to be put to the torch." Fox Boy explained, causing Jesse and Ellie to widen their eyes in response.

Ellie looked at Dina, who just nodded with a sad face in confirmation. "They... Tried to take me to join the other hostages, but Fox Boy stopped them.

Ellie made a confused face and moved her head to look at the Albino Weirdo. "Why?"

"I like Dina, I didn't want her to die." He answered instantly. "I like you too, Jesse." Predictably, Jesse only made a creeped out face in response.

"Fuck..." Ellie cursed in response to all of this. "What are we supposed to do now?"

"FFFFOOOOOOOXXXXXXX BBBBOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYY! ! ! ! ! ! " Out of nowhere, all of them were startled when they heard a voice coming from outside calling out for the masked boy in front of them. "KOMM JETZT HER!"

"Oh, Venus is here."

Thanks for reading this chapter.

Questions and Answers:

Random question, what is Fox Boy's sexuality?

This might answer your question:

{

Owen: Are you sad?

Fox Boy: A little...

Mel: Did something happen?

Fox Boy: I asked Lev if he wanted to marry me and he said no.

(Both looked at each other in surprise.)

Mel: Fox Boy, Lev is thirteen!

Fox Boy: I didn't mean right now, I was going to wait until he's older.

Owen: But, you know that Lev is a...

Fox Boy: Boy that used to be a girl? Yes. I don't really understand how that works but I don't care.

Mel: You don't care?

Fox Boy: I don't care if it's a boy or a girl or someone like Lev as long as they love me. But Lev told me that he didn't want to marry anyone ever, though he did say that we could have intercouse together.

Owen: What?!

Mel: Oh my god...(Touches her face in deep frustration) Please tell me you two didn't.

Fox Boy: No, but Lev really wants to do it the next time we're alone.

(Both Owen and Mel look at each other with strange faces while Fox Boy looks at them in a slight confusion.)

Owen: Ermmm... Which of them would be the one being taken advantage of in this?

Mel: Do I really have to answer that? Because I'm pretty sure only one of them knows exactly what he's asking for and it's not him. (Points at Fox Boy)

(Both look at Fox Boy, who was just sitting there confused, not exactly understanding why they were so shaken up by what he said.)

Love this story! Thank you for the great work!

Fox Boy seems to get attached to Dina more and more. When he killed the Faceless to save Dina, he turned against the Normandies, or at least that's how the Normandies are likely to see it. Jester is a real psychopath, wonder if it will be him who figures out Fox Boy's betrayal, he might be crazy but he is smart though, just like the Joker from the Dark Knight.

Even if Fox Boy does stop Abby and her group from killing Joel, he might just go after them anyway. He might notice how set Abby is on killing Joel, and will go after them before they decide come back. Also the Normandies are unlikely to let Fox Boy's betrayal go, so all the more reason for Fox Boy to leave. Fox Boy goes to Seattle and leading the Normandies there, knowing they'd get into conflict with the W.L.F and the Seraphites. Fox Boy can use the conflict as an opening to take out Normandies and W.L.F leadership, leave the Seraphites devastated, and eliminate Abby and her crew. Fox Boy's problems solved, his worries over, and he can return to Jackson and live the life with Dina and Ellie.

He will literally do anything she asks of him. Not exactly, as the Normandies aren't aware of it yet. Jester is the most intelligent of the Masked Ones.

It's a little more complicated than that.

Fox Boy is the John Wick of the apocalypse

I want every single action scene involving Fox Boy, to feel like an action scene straight out of a John Wick film. Which is on purpose, as oppose to Ellie and Joel who were taught by experience, Fox Boy received hellish but top-quality training in every single aspect of combat.

The plot in this chapter is quite exciting for me. full of gloomy atmosphere The scene where the clown meets Dina is creepy. At first I thought she was arrested. Fortunately, Jester didn't catch her Now fox boy is starting to feel more like a normal person. It's a good thing.
- Jester now knows everyone the fox boy is talking to, wondering what he is planning to do with them.
- My feelings say that Jester is probably the most dangerous of the Normandy.
- Normandy's invasion until the camp was captured. how long does it take I might be skeptical, but I feel like the Normandys too will rush things over instead of reaping the benefits of the survivor's camp Or are they afraid of the invasion of the infected?
- I wish I hadn't seen the legendary golf club scene. For me, that's the only magic golf club I can accept. It's a golf club from Red vs. Blue: Singularity Only.
If we didn't meet today good afternoon good evening and good ning too

In a way, he is the most normal of the Masked Ones, which is pretty depressing.

He memorized their names but only saw Dina's face. Which is bad...

All of them are dangerous in various different ways. Jester is the most intelligent one of the Masked Ones and basically everything that you see the Normandies use, it's his design.

It depends on the place that they are invading. Some take a considerable amount of time, others not so much. Sadly, Jackson was completely unprepared for the invasion and only Ellie, Dina, Joel, Jesse and Maria, had a slight idea of what they were dealing with.

I really like the character of Fox Boy, someone who is so pure and innocent and at the same time a born warrior with incredible training.

I love his sense of humor, every time he takes everything very literally or the one who sees his enemies as people with whom he can talk in a kind and cordial way.

by the way I saw you compare the character dynamics of Fox Boy and Reaper with those of Solid Snake and Big Boss which is amazing, but I also see a lot of the dynamic between Raiden and Solidus Snake, I really can't help but see Fox Boy as someone very similar to Raiden, a child soldier trained since childhood in an ostile place that becomes the best killing machine but at the same time has many nuances in his personality.

When the individual battles between Fox Boy and his former group arrive, I swear that I will listen to each fight with the Metal Gear Rising soundtrack, it will be something incredible.

By the way, I'm dying to see a scene like:

Abby: That guy stole humanity's last hope from us.

Fox Boy: You know, once Jester sat us all in a room and showed us a series of slides where he explained that humanity today is too violent and that such a resource would only bring about wars between what is left of the governments, he also said something about those being his wet dreams, and Reaper said he'd kill Jester to bring something called a power point back to life.

I need epic battles and stories well told.

Thank you very much for the chapter.

I wanted him to be a contrast to everyone else in the story, someone who retained a pureness and childlike wonder despite everything that went through at the hands of the Normandies.

Sadly, this will actually bring a lot of trouble. Not for him, but to his new friends that will have to constantly make sure he doesn't do anythining stupid as a result of it.

Ironically, I didn't think about that. But you're actually right, Fox Boy has a lot of similarities to Raiden. (Hell, both are albinos, Raiden is an albino from Liberia, while Fox Boy is an albino from Denmark. Both use swords as their primary melee weapons, Raiden an Japanese one while Fox Boy uses an Italian one. Both have complicated relationships with their romantic partners, Raiden with Rosemary, and later Fox Boy with Ellie. etc) Though, I think the major difference between them is how they deal with their pasts. {Also, there will be a lot of The Boss and Big Boss dynamic and even their final confrontation will be similiar.}

You should, because it would be fitting. (His eventual battle with Ghost Head will fit the best with it.)

LOL! There will be a similar scene during a conversation between him and Abby.

Everyone needs that in my opinion.

You're welcome.

Curious as to if the town will be left standing after the Normandies are done with the place

Anyway bless Dina for looking after Fox Boy

Jesters introduction was also pretty neat until Fox Boy got tased so much he pissed himself

Moving on nice that Fox Boy got to return the favour of healing Dina by getting that bullet out also realising he does in fact like it when Diana's ass is shown to him haha also after
their talk I'm sure Fox Boy will be growing his hair out

So quick thing with those faceless grunts I think when talking to Fox Boy they should have thrown in a sir or two when speaking to him after all Fox Boy has a unique mask unlike them and in the hierarchy of the Normandies wouldn't it make sense that despite how they all treat him Fox Boy is part of that cabal of leaders right under the supreme leader? Again he might be the youngest of said cabal but it's clear that in their faction Fox Boy should be seen as way above the faceless

Anyway liked him killing them all for what they said was about to happen

In the preview while not stabbing her glad anything Abby thinks about him simply doesn't register for Fox Boy and I like him just going back to happily building his card tower

With Reaper then I really do hope then it's a case of he knows Fox Boy is more dangerous than or will become more dangerous than the original Fox ever was and could kill them all in the future

Haha well I just hope JJ appears in like a epilogue

Of course also looking forward to what Fox Boy, Ellie and Dina get up to when they are high haha

Probably not... And if there's anything standing, it will definitely not be habitable.

She's going to be doing that quite often from now on.

Let's just say... That next time he tries to use that baton on Fox Boy, he won't just sit down and take it...

Haha... Sadly, Ellie will not react well to his admiration or when he starts to do the same thing with her. He will grow his hair out into Viking style long hair (Side Note: It will suit him since Fox Boy is actually a Scandinavian, born in Denmark.)

The Faceless mostly communicate through sign language and they don't really use this type of presentations. (But, unlike the rest of the Masked Ones, Fox Boy only has minimal authority over the Faceless, which is why he couldn't order them to just leave Dina be. If the Supreme Leader ordered something, none of the Masked Ones can contradict.)

He really likes Dina, and didn't want her to die.

They're partnership is involuntary and the only thing that is keeping the two from trying to kill each other is Lev.

In a way, he wants him to kill them all... (Reaper and Fox were the ones that turned the Masked Ones into what they are, and let's just say, that part of him is tormented by what they have become as a result of it.)

Most likely.

Probably making JJ.
