Ch 4

David was very curious where they were going. When he woke up Rosalie had told him that they were going to meet some important people. He was a bit nervous at first, but Rosalie reassured him that everything will be ok and that she will always be with him. That made him feel a bit better.

It was David's first time on a plane so he was very nervous and excited. Thankfully he was sitting next to Emmett who was holding his hand the entire ride. He must have fell asleep cause when he woke up he was in a car instead of the plane.

"Hey there sleepy." Emmett said. David looked outside the window and was amazed at the scenery. It was very beautiful.

"This is Volterra. Some very important people live here and they really want to meet you." Rosalie explained but David could tell that she wasn't happy.

"Me?" David asked. No one has wanted to meet him before. He wondered who they could be.

"Yes sweetheart, you see you're a very special little boy."

"Is it because I'm a forest fairy?" David questioned shocking everyone in the car. Did he not know what they are? What he is? Then it hit Rosalie, what Alice said. This was the chance that Alice was talking about. A vampire that doesn't drink blood and doesn't even know that he's a vampire. Could they use that to their advantage? She desperately hopes so. Before anyone else could answer David she spoke up.

"Yes, you're a very special little boy." She said making David smile. He never felt special before, we'll until he met Rosalie and everyone else. The car ride was long but they eventually came upon a town and David liked out in amazement. They then stopped in front of what looked like a church with people in hidden robes outside. David was staring to get scared.

"It's ok sweetheart," Rosalie reassured him. "Nothing is going to happen to you I promise." David nodded his head trusting her words. They stopped the car and Rosalie got out first and opened the door on David's side. He was wearing a hoodie and gloves to make sure no sunlight would reach him. She covered his head with the hood and picked him up.

Together she and the rest followed the clocked individuals inside. It was very strange for David, he could sense something familiar with them like how he did with Rosalie's family and the red eyes on that day. Are they like him too?

He also noticed that there were regular people here too, but didn't think too much on it. Soon they encountered an elevator that took them down. When they reached the bottom floor they walked to a big pair of doors. He quickly noticed that everyone else was being extremely wary of him. He didn't know why but it felt like they thought he was going to attack them.

They entered a huge room where he saw Edward, Alice, Jasper and Charlise. There were several red eyes all over the room but the ones that made him feel the most nervous were the ones sitting on the fancy chairs, especially the one in the middle. He scared David. Are these really forest faeries like him?

"Excellent the whole family is here. But it looks like you've made an addition." Spoke the one in the middle chair with a soft voice. Rosalie looked at Alice who gave her a nod. With a sigh Rosalie took down David's hood revealing his face to all. A collective gasp was spread throughout the room and then calls like "blasphemy" "immortal child" "punish" took wave.

"Enough!" The one in the middle said silencing the room. "From what I have seen this child is unlike anything any of us has seen." He looked at David with a glistening grin which made him uncomfortable.

"Yes," Alice spoke up. "We found him in the woods after surviving our fight from Victoria. He doesn't drink. He eats human food and can sleep." More gasps was heard and mummers like "impossible!" "They're lying!" Was shouted. Again the one in the middle silenced them. He began to descend from where he was sitting and walked closer to Rosalie who held on David tighter. He finally approached David and Rosalie.

"Hello little one. My name is Aro. I'm very pleased to see you." He said with a smile. David was able to get a good sniff and he smelled bitter.

"I'm David."

"Ah, a fine name. May I?" He asked holding his hands out for David to take it. David looked up at Rosalie unsure.

"It's ok sweetheart. I'm right here, go ahead." With extra encouraging David slowly reached out his hand and placed it on Aro's. Aro clasped his other hand on David's and closed his eyes. They stayed like this for about a minute until Aro started chuckling making everyone on edge. He opened his eyes and his smile grew even bigger.

"Magnificent!" He said in awe.

"What did you see brother?" David looked up to the one that spoke. He was sitting on one of the chairs, he was tall and had blond hair.

"This child is unlike anything we have seen. He doesn't feed, but actually consumes plants of all things. He also sleeps. Truly marvelous!" He explained with absolute glee leaving the blond one and everyone else stunned.

"Even so, he shouldn't exist. He can still be a danger to us. Him and the one who created him!" The blond one spoke up but Aro calmed him with a wave of his hand.

"I saw who his creator was and she is already dead. The Cullens saw to that." Everyone was shocked to hear that! So it was Victoria that created him!

"Besides brother, the child isn't a danger. He believes us to be fairies." Aro chuckled leaving the blond one dumbfounded while the other man who was sitting on the other chair cracked a smile and chuckled ed as well.

"An immortal child that has never fed and has remained pure since his creation. Truly, a prize that I never fathomed to appear before me." Rosalie hugged David tighter. Here it is, once Aro calls someone a prize he'll never let them out of his sights and right now David is the ultimate prize.

"So what now brother?" The blond one asked, knowing that Aro wants to keep the child. He was still in disbelief that the child doesn't drink blood, but his eyes that shows a brilliant green instead of red only further supports it. Unreal.

"The child needs to be educated and protected. He is very special indeed, probably the only one of his kind, but does not know of our ways or life. He is pure and innocent. He must know who he is and in turn who we are as a species." Before Rosalie could protest Charlisle spoke.

"That is precisely why I believe it to be for the best for the child to stay with us. Given his unique circumstances and our particular diet, we could give him the best environment. We can teach him of our ways and at the same we can tend to his needs in an isolated environment." He spoke calmly. Rosalie was still nervous, while he gave some great points will it be enough? Aro looked into Charlisle very closely and then scanned through the rest of the Cullens ending straight to David's innocent face. He was curious as to what is going on.

"Yes," Aro spoke. "That is an interesting point. However, should others see the child there may be some misunderstandings. But if he is seen within these walls then that chance of happening will be less to none. So I propose this. I'll allow the child to stay in your care on the condition that he stays here for certain periods at a time."

"And how long will that be?" Rosalie spoke up. Aro turned us head to her and then smiled at David once again.

"Let's say every other summer season. I believe that is a fair agreement." In honesty it was, every other summer wouldn't be that bad which is only at worst 3-4 months every other year. If Aro wanted to he could just take David, but he could see how attached the child is to them and vise versa and knows that it'll be more trouble than it's worth to take him from them. But they'll know that he'll never let go of David, not completely so they have to be extremely careful. One slip up and that's it for them.

"Thank you got your generosity. We will look after and care for all of his needs." Charlise promised.

"See to it that you do. It will not bode well if the little prince goes wanting." Aro said cryptically. David turned his head in confusion when he heard Aro called him little prince. Was he talking about him? But he's not a prince. But there's something more troubling. Aro said that he thinks that they're fairies. Aren't they? Isn't he? If he's wrong then what are they? What is he? Aro saw the confusion on David's face.

"It seems before anything else, there's something you must discuss with the little prince, if he is to be part of our world the last thing he needs is ignorance." Charlisle saw the confusion on David's face and though he had wished to explain what he is a little later, it seems that the die has already been cast.

"Yes, so it seems." He replied back.

"Oh, I have the most marvelous idea. We will hold a banquet so that all the major covens will know of the little prince. That way when you return they will know that he and you by extension are in our protection."

'Damn' Charlie cursed. He's making his move now, by saying that they're under the Volturi's protection that gives Aro more chances to get close to David. They'll have to make sure to protect David from whatever brainwashing the man will try to do. Rosalie was thinking the same and was barley keeping herself together. However, they can't afford to lose their cool, not here.

"Yes, that sounds like a good idea."

"Excellent. While the preparations are set I will have you and your family stay in our guest villas. I believe the facilities will be to your liking." Aro said with a smile looking straight at David.
