Ch 5

"Do I have to wear this?" David asked as he stood in front of a mirror. Looking at himself he looks silly.

"I'm sorry sweetheart, but try to put up with it just for tonight." Rosalie said apologetically. It's been a week since they introduced David to the Volturi and while yes they were lucky enough to keep him without anyone dying there were some complications.

One of which was that they had to tell David what they were and to no surprise the child was scared about the fact that they were vampires and not "forest fairies". However, Charlisle made sure to explain how their family's diet work which put David at ease.

But Aro has been relentless on spending as much time with David as possible and while they cannot deny the man they made sure it was never for long. For David, yes, he was scared of the fact that there are vampires in the world and that apparently he's one too. But he was told that he is very special in that he doesn't drink blood like the rest do.

He honestly doesn't understand why either, and he learned that the creepy man he met called Aro is extremely interested in him and want to have him for himself. They warned him that Aro will try to pursway him to stay. But David didn't want to stay even if everyone here is nice to him.

It's strange. Everyone here gives him strange looks but it's not in a bad way. It's like they're seeing something they never saw before and don't know how to act. Aro is always happy to see him and refers David as "little prince". He doesn't get why he calls him that and Rosalie and the rest tells him to not worry about it. But though He was very wary of the man at first it turned out that Aro is a nice man. At least to David.

He would always ask David how he is and is very interested to know everything about him. The man catered to David's every whim, though the boy never asked for much. David met the other two matriarchs Marcus and Caius.

David liked Marcus very much. The man was very kind to him and smelled like strawberries. He could tell if David was uncomfortable and would always try to cheer him up or play a game with him. Marcus made sure that all kinds of fruits and nuts were available to David whenever the boy wanted.

Caius on the other hand smelled like a lemon and was very wary of the boy, mostly cause he didn't know what to think of him. But seeing how he interacted with his brothers he slowly got accustomed to the little newborn. Then when David fully demonstrated his gift he was in amazement.

To think that such power came from such a little body. Not only that but he even tested to see if the boy was truly in control of himself and one day brought out a fresh cup of blood for the boy without anyone knowing.

True to the statement the boy didn't even react to it, in fact he was more than disgusted with it! And even said that it smelled bad. Truly amazing! After that all doubts he had were gone and fully accepted the "little prince" and made sure that everyone understood as well.

Right now, however David feels ridiculous. He's been told that there's going to be a big feast today for him which he was excited at first about it until one of the servants came in with a box that contained an outfit that Aro wanted him to wear.

The outfit comprised of shorts, a button up shirt, knee length socks and shoes that are all black. The only other color were suspenders and a bow tie that are red. There's also a little red cape that reached down to his shoulder blades. Out of all of it there's one thing that seemed very weird for him to wear. It is a little black crown. Looking at himself in the mirror he looks like a prince, but why does he have to wear all this black?

"I know it looks strange sweetheart," Rosalie said. "But it's one of these things that we have to endure. I promise nothing will happen. Everyone will love you."

"I don't see why this has to be a big deal for just me?"

"It's because you are very special and this way everyone can see how special you are."

"Ok." Looks like he has no choice. A knock from the door alerted both of them. A servant came in.

"Lord Aro is awaiting for you young master." She said before leaving. That was another thing he felt weird about. Everyone besides the Cullens started calling him young master. Aro calls him little prince, Marcus calls him little one and Caius calls him seedling. These are all weird nicknames but he was told to get used to them.

When they left the room they were waited by the twins Alec and Jane. They both smelled like licorice, but Jane had a little bit of bitterness to it. At first both were the same as Caius and were very wary of the boy, especially Jane. Mainly because the little cretin shouldn't be alive right now.

It's outrageous that they would bend the laws just because this one didn't feed in the normal sense. So what? And to add that her master seems to want to spend all his time with the little rodent made her feelings more bitter towards the child.

Alec on the other hand was both wary and curious of the child. For the longest he and his sister have been the youngest in the coven and possibly in the world, but here is an actual child. Yes he's seen an immortal child before but they were like wild beats.

Yet this one was the complete opposite so he found himself a little interested in the child. Over time he began interacting with David and understood why his lord is so interested in David. The child truly is a marvel. Completely innocent like an infant and curious of everything around him. His gift is astonishing being able to creat life while his on the other hand is used to take life.

One day the boy asked to see his gift. Alec was very apprehensive about that because of how he would react and by that how Aro would react if he scared the child with his gift. However, David pressed and Alec displayed his gift thinking that the child would be scared and run off.

But instead the child actually walked up to his black mist and touched it! The child giggled as the mist ran past him but his senses weren't taken from him! Impossible! That has never happened before.

But when he looked at David and the mist it was like they were playing with each other. David was very excited that Alec showed him his gift and even hugged him in thanks and told Alec that his gift is amazing. No one else has said that about his gift except for his master. After that Alec began seeing David more often and found out he enjoys the boy's company.

Jane watching the interaction between her brother and David only made her more jealous. But what made it worse is that her powers didn't work on him. At all! She tried several times, just a little pain, but nothing. Eventually she was caught by Alec and they had a big argument about it.

Eventually her twin was able to persuade her to give the child a chance and to her surprise she found herself not to be disgusted in the child's presence. More so that the child seems to be taken with her and constantly wants her to play with him. So her and her brother have been subjugated to be David's playmates considering that they're the closest in age, physically.

And as the week went by she found that David wasn't as bad as she made him out to be and that he's a very considerate and polite child. And can be very perceptive when he wants to be. Good, cause the one thing she can't stand is being around idiots. So she could challenge him to different puzzles and such which bathe child seems to enjoy very much.

Then one day David decided to call them big brother and sister. After that David had the twins wrapped around his little finger and like Aro they would go out of their way to cater to David's every need.

"Well now you look like a proper vampire." Jane remarked seeing David in his outfit.

"I look silly." David complained making both her and Alec chuckle.

"Alec said the same thing when Aro did the same thing for us when we were turned. Just bare with it." She replied with a smirk.

"We'll take it from here." Alec told Rosalie who is very reluctant in letting David go. But she knows that she can't defy the twins so she has to comply.

"Remember sweetheart, I'll be in the room if you need me ok?"

"Ok." David noises his head. Rosalie smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"I'll see you soon." She said before letting go of his hand.

"By Rose!" He waved off as he entered over to the twins who each took a hold of his hand and headed off. Rosalie entered to the main ballroom where other distinguished coven leaders had gathered, of course none of them could refuse an "invitation" from the Volturi.

She looked around and saw her family over in a corner with their cousins the Denalis. She's glad that they at least have friends during this. Though she feels guilty for keeping David from them, they had no choice. If anyone else had found out it would have been the end of them.

"Cousin, it's good to see you." Spoke Tanya.

"Yes, it's good to see you all as well." She responded warmly which surprised her cousins.

"You seem to be a cheerful mood, especially since we've been dragged to this circus." She said in annoyance wile looking at the other vampires.

"Yes a lot of things had happened in a short time." Tanya rose an eyebrow at that, but left alone as the main door opened revealing the ruling Aro, Marcus and Caius. They walked up to their chairs and while Marcus and Caius sat down, Aro still stood.

"My friends, Welcome! I'm so glad that you all are able to come," Aro welcomed everyone while Kate and Irina both rolled their eyes. "Today you all will see something never before seen in our long life time. Something that could only be called a miracle."

Everyone was confused. What could it possibly be that would have Aro so giddy. Many believed that he found another vampire within an extraordinary gift like the twins, but he never acted like this when he introduced them.

It's like he found the ultimate vampire. Surely not. Others had different opinions on what it could be. Their speculations were put to rest as they heard footsteps walking in. However, one of them was light. Very light footsteps, like that of a child. Everyone gasped including the Denalis when Alec and Jane entered the room holding the hands of a small child.

An immortal child.
