"Have you talked to Donna yet?" Mike inquires as he's sitting in front of Harvey on an armchair, sipping on his glas of scotch.

"No."

"Why not?"

"I-I don't know. I don't even know what to say."

"Harvey, I know you're hurt and mad at her, but I think she's really sorry." He tells his friend. Actually he is still mad at her himself, and he would prefer to tell him to never talk to her agian. But he thinks she's sorry and the most important part, Harvey cares about her and he does it for his sake.

"She is." He confirms.

"Then talk to her," he tells his friend softly. "It's been a week since you two last spoke. I mean, you like her, and I get that you are not ready to forgive her yet, but… if you think there's even the slightest chance for you two, you should talk to her before she leaves New York."

"Yeah, I will."

"Donna, are you still not feeling any better?" Ian asks as Donna rushes towards the bathroom again.

"No, not really. I swear to God, I'll never eat a chocolate croissant again," she tells him, noticing his skeptical look.

"What?" Donna asks.

"I-uhm, I don't think it's the croissant. That was a week ago."

"It can't be anything else. My stomach's just weird."

"Actually, there's a much more logical explanation," he looks at Donna hesitantly.

Donna looks Ian directly in his eyes, trying to figure out what he's implying when she realizes.

"No, Ian, I- no," she shakes her head quickly.

"Donna, you've been sick for days now, and you're feeling tired..."

"Ian, stop! We tried it for years, and it didn't work out. The doctors made it clear I... I can probably never be a mom," she tells him sadly.

"I know," he replies lovingly, "but maybe you should take a pregnancy test."

"I don't need to. It's impossible."

Her brother doesn't push her, though he's not entirely convinced.

"Harvey?" Donna says, surprised when she opens the door.

"Hey," he smiles slightly at her. "Can we talk?"

"Yeah, sure," she moves aside to let him in.

"Do you want something to drink?"

"No, thank you."

For a few moments, there's silence between them, and they just look at each other.

"I'm sorry," she starts.

"I know. It's just… it doesn't change the fact that you… you hurt me."

"I never meant to hurt you. You have to believe me."

"I know you didn't, but you did, and I don't know how to get over it."

"Take your time, as long as you need. Just don't close the door forever," she pleads softly.

"What about Tanner?" he asks.

"He… he wants me back. You already know that. And yeah… there's still a part of me that loves him, but… not in the way that I want to go back to him. We were so young when we got together and then we marreied, and he was a big part of my life. I can't just get rid of my feelings, but I also don't want to go back to him. It's over."

"Are you sure about that?"

"Yes," she tells him honestly. Harvey nods slightly.

"What about Seattle? You wanted to go back anyway"

"if you give us another chance, I'll stay here for you, for us"

"You would give up everything there?"

'Yes, because you're worthy" she tells him lovingly.

"And your job?"

"New York is pretty big, I for sure find another one" Harvey nods, a bit surprised about her sacrifice but also touched. Another proof that she means what she's saying.

"See you, Donna," he says. As he reaches the door, he turns to her one more time, "I know you're sorry... I just need time." Then he leaves.

Three days later, Donna stands crying in front of Rachel's door

"Donna? Wh-what happened?"

"I- I…" she cries, and Rachel grabs her by the shoulders. "Come in first."

"What happened, honey?"

"I-" she sobs, "I'm pregnant."

"What?" Rachel blurts out taken aback.

"Ian mentioned something like that," she sniffs, "and I brushed him off, but… he was right." She bursts into tears. "I couldn't get rid of his words and then I made a test… actually about ten and… they all showed the same result"

"Honey," Rachel says softly, pulling her into a hug.

A few minutes later, when she has calmed down, Donna speaks up.

"Travis and I, we... we tried for so long, and now-" she sobs, "it couldn't have come at a worse time."

"Sweetie," Rachel says softly, squeezing her hand.

"How am I supposed to explain this to Harvey now?"

"He'll be there for you, Donna. It's Harvey... he'd never leave you to handle this alone, and he certainly wouldn't give up on his child."

"Rachel..." Donna takes a shaky breath shaking her head, "It's Travis'."

For a few seconds, Rachel is silent, wrapping her head areound the information. "What? How?"

"I'm nine weeks along. Harvey and I haven't didn't… I just didn't notice anything... because I didn't have any symptoms until now."

"God, Donna," Rachel says, lovingly pulling her into another hug as she starts crying again.

"Everything will be okay, you'll see."

"I- wanted this so much for so long, we both did... why now?"

"Sometimes things just happen unexpectedly. Don't worry too much, everything will fell into place, for sure"

"Rachel, I want this baby. I want it so much. I can't go through it again. The last time was hell, I"

"Donna hey, no one expects from you anything. And both of them will be there for you. You should only focus on yourself now" Donna nods

"I just don't know what to do now"

"You odn't have to decide it now" Rachel tells her "take your time to figure everything out" she smiles at her friend "and if you need anything, whatever it is, I am there for you"

"Thank you, Rachel"

Two days later, Donna visits Harvey. She hasn't heard from him, and while she wanted to give him time, the situation is different now. She's pregnant with her ex-husband's baby, and she doesn't know what to do: Should she go back to Travis? Should she lie and say it's Harvey's? Would Harvey even want to raise another man's baby?

"Donna? What are you doing here?"

"We need to talk."

"I told you I needed time."

"I know… but it's... it's important."

He nods and lets her in.

"What is it, Donna? Are you okay?"

"No... yes... I-" She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath to gather herself. "I'm pregnant," she says, and before Harvey can fully process her sentence "It's Travis' baby" she adds.

Harvey swallows hard. "You? What?" He doesn't know how to respond, or what to feel.

"How long have you known?"

"Two days."

"So, when I came to you…"

"No, it was after that. I was feeling sick for days and threw up a few times and then I did the test"

"You didn't say a word."

"I had to come to terms with it myself first... I thought I could never get pregnant, and-"

"Does he know?"

"Not yet. I wanted you to know first."

"And now? What's next?" he asks, his voice a mixture of shock and uncertainty. Is it over for them? Do they even have a chance? Does he want to raise another man's baby?

"I don't know," Donna says, shaking her head, tears falling down her cheeks. "The only thing I know is that I want this baby. No matter what"

Harvey nods in understanding. Of course, she wants it, and he'd never expect anything else from her.

Later at the day Donna asks Tanner to come at Ian's apartment. She needs to tell him, she can't keep it from him. She knows how much he wanted it to and how thrilled he'll be... she just doesn't know what this means for them, what to tell him. He'll want to try it again, see it as a sign from destiny and she... she doesn't know what to think.

"Oh my God, Donna, that's great!" Tanner exclaims, a huge smile spreading across his face. "We've been waiting so long for this... it's a sign. We belong together, this is the ultimative sign for us to try it again" But his excitement fades when he sees Donna's expression.

"You want the baby, right?" he asks, worried, "Donna, we've been waiting for so long-"

"Yeah, yeah, of course, I want it." she cuts him off "I just don't know..."

"If you want it with me," he swallows "Goddamn Specter!" he curses. "It's all his fault."

"He is the only one not to blame for anything," she snaps angrily.

"If he'd kept his hands off you..."

"If you hadn't betrayed me again, I would've never met him," she raises her voice.

"So, it's my fault?" he shouts back. "You told me you needed time. You told me not to come after you and to respect your request, and I did! I stayed in Seattle, waiting for you to call, but you didn't. And when I did call, you didn't pick up! I blamed myself for hurting you, but while I was waiting and hoping, you were throwing yourself at him!"

"Get out! Now!" Donna yells.

"Donna I- I'm sorry, I didn't mean it" he apologizes sincerely.

"Yes you did, and now out!"

"She's pregnant."

"She's What? Pregnant?" Mike says in disbelief, a little too loudly.

"Ssshhhh," Harvey scolds.

"Sorry... she's pregnant? With your baby?"

"No," Harvey replies, his disappointment evident.

"Then who?"

"It's Tanner's. She probably just didn't have any symptoms and only found out two days ago."

"Or she lied about that too," Mike blurts out, earning a sharp look from Harvey. Did she? was it another lie from her?

"I'm sorry. It's just... it wouldn't be the first time."

"I know, but... I don't think she's lying about this. She seemed really honest," Harvey explains, and Mike nods.

"Are you okay?" he asks concerned.

"No," Harvey says sincerely. "I was about to go back to her, to start fresh, and now... what if she goes back to him? What if I waited too long to forgive her?"

"Harvey, it's not your fault. If she really loves you and wants to be with you, she'll choose you, no matter who the father is."

"That's not true, Mike, and you know it. Children should grow up with their parents."

"Not if the parents don't love each other. That won't help the child at all."

"But she still loves him, at least a part of her does."

"Did she say that?"

"Kinda... and he loves her. He's a self-absorbed asshole, but he loves her," Harvey sighs.

"Would you want to be with here, still?"

"I don't know, but maybe it's too late anyway"

"Mike, I think I need to be alone now. Thanks for coming over."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I just need some time to think."

"Okay, but if you need anything, just give me a call."

"Thanks, Mike."

Four days later, Donna goes to Harvey's condo, her eyes red from crying, her heart aching for him, for them, for their future. A week ago, there was nothing in the world she wanted more than him forgiving her, and now… it's over.

"Donna?" he says, surprised. "I was about to come to you too," he tells her quietly.

"We need to talk."

"Yeah," he agrees.

"Are you okay?" he asks.

"No... I mean medically yes, I'm okay but no..."

"And the baby?"

"Fine, too. My gynecologist said everything is how it should be."

"Happy to hear that."

"Harvey, I—"

"Let me go first."

"No, I—"

"Please?" And she nods.

"I know how long you two have been waiting for that baby, and I know that you still love him in whatever way and that he wants you back. I mean, I know even why, who wouldn't. But I also know that you meant what you said last time, that you're in love with me too and that you wanted to be with me, so let's try it again."

"Harvey," she says his name, her voice trembling.

"I love you, Donna, and I want to be with you. And I don't care that the baby is not mine; I'll love it as my child. I know Tanner would always be part of our life, and I hate it, but I'll be okay with it, as long as we are together. What do you say?" he asks softly.

"You are the most wonderful person in the world," she shuts her eyes, hating herself for having to hurt him all over again.

"but?"

"I—I can't come back to you."

"Donna." he swallows

"Travis and I, we—we'll try it again."

"You're going back to him?" he asks hurting

"I—I have to; he's the father of my child, he loves me. I hurt him, too."

"He hurt you first," he says in a more angry voice.

"I know, and it wasn't the first time, but he loves me. The first time… we were just so young, and this time he… he was drunk… we had a fight before, and…"

"Are you really justifying it right now?"

"Harvey, please." she sniffs

"The other day, you came into my condo begging me to forgive you, to not give up on us. You told me you wouldn't go back to him."

"Har—"

"Then you tell me you're pregnant, and instead of telling me back then you'll go back to him..."

"I didn't know."

"... You let me hang dry for days! I was thinking my head off about what to do, and when I finally know that I want you, that I want this baby, you tell me you're going back to him?!"

"I am sorry."

"Goddamn it, Donna, that's enough!" he yells, and she flinches.

"I am tired of your apologies! How many times do you want to tell me that, just to hurt me all over again? Huh? God, I am such an idiot," he shakes his head. "I was really about to forgive you. Mike was right; you probably know much longer about the pregnancy, didn't you?"

"No, Harvey, I swear I didn't know. I would've never—"

"Stop! I don't care. Leave my condo, pack up your things, take your goddamn husband with you, and go back to where you're coming from. And please don't ever come back again."

She swallows hard. His words cut deeper than a knife; hearing that from him hurts more than anything else, much more than when she found out about Tanner's betrayal.

"Harvey, please."

"Get out," he tells her, not even looking her in the eye.

"Goddamn slut," Mike says madly after Harvey told him what had happened.

"I—I'm sorry," he apologizes realizing his choice of words "It's just, she makes me so angry."

"Yeah, I know," he answers. After a little pause, Harvey speaks up, "I am just so mad and disappointed. I never thought she'd do that."

"I know, buddy, but she's not worthy. I know it's hard and that you're hurt, but she's not worthy. She doesn't deserve you." Harvey doesn't answer. What is he supposed to say? He wishes he wouldn't have to think about her, that he could just shut his feelings off for her, but he can't. He can't get her out of his head, can't forget how much he cared and how much she hurt him. How could she do that? He knows it wasn't a lie, that's a bit of comfort but it doesnt make it any better.

"You need to let out some steam; let's go for a baseball game," Mike suggests.

"Mike, I—I'd rather be alone. I know you're trying to make me feel better, and I really appreciate that, but—"

"Come on," he asks softly. "You can't stay here alone tonight; you need distraction. And then you can come to ours; Rachels cooking and Lucy's asking for you since the party. She's used to seeing you almost every day, and now it's about a week."

"I'm missing her, too," he smiles softly "I jsut don't think I'm the best company today"

"I don't even have a gift"

"we can stop on midway but you don't need a gift every day"

"You jsut said it yourself, it's about a week" he smiles gently but the sadness in his eyes is unmissable.

"Sooo, you coming?"

Harvey chuckles slightly and nods in agreement.

"Donna" Tanner is surprised to see her.

"you have a moment?"

"Yeah, of ocurse, Are you two okay?"

she smiles "yeah, we're fine" she tells him and grabs an envelope from her bag "that's for you"

a sincere smile builds up on his face when he takes the picture from it.

"I know what it is but" Donna chuckles "but you don't see anything"

"No" he laughs

"right here" she points at the spot on the ultrasound "this is our baby"

"this is the most beautiful tiny thing I've ever seen" he tells her touched.

"yeah, me too"

"What are we going to do now?" he asks

"We are going back home"

"You? you're giving us another chance?"

"yes" she whispers and she can see they happiness in his eyes

"and Harvey?"

"It's over" she tells him. He leans forward to kiss her but she pulls back "I still need time Travis, I'm coming back to you but I-"

"it's okay, you don't have to explain anything. I'll take care of the flight tickets"

"yeah okay, maybe as soon as possible"

"Sure, Friday is the case over and then we can take the first flight"

"Travis, please give up on it"

"Donna you can't-"

"please, I know you don't like each other"

"That's the understatement of the year"

"he didn't do it! Please believe me!"

"Donna your feelings for him-"

"Have nothing to do with it. I mean yeah sure, I don't want him to suffer more than he's doing right now. I hurt him so much and I now him well enough to know that he'd never hide anything, just to win a case. Let go of your accusation, book our flights and let's go back home"

Tanner hasitates for a few moments but eventually agrees.

"Okay" he tells her "but I am doing it for you, not for him"

"Thank you"

Hey there,

I am sooo sorry for the looong wait, I was too busy with my vacation job and my thesis. Since my vacation job is over, I'll have more time now and the cert chapter won't take that long anymore.

I jsut hope there's still somehting out there :)

I hope you liked this and I know this is pretty hard (especially for Harvey) but I can't promise anything getting better in the next chapter, drama will last a bit longer.

What do you think about Donna's decision to go back to him for the baby's sake?

Have a nice time!
