Chapter 19

Early in the morning, he opened his eyes to find himself staring at the sealing made of stones. He could smell the different medicines all around him. The birds were chirping outside. He tried to open his left eye again but to no avail. The rest of his body was stiff and broken. He felt broken, like a giant elephant had smacked him around. He inhaled air into his lungs and coughed due to dry throat. He hated it, feeling so miserable and losing half of his vision, he hoped it was temporary. But the memories that he had of his previous battle indicated otherwise. He heard opening and closing of the door and then the sound of footsteps getting closer and closer, he tensed and tried to sit or do something as he knew he was in an unfamiliar location.

Then he found himself staring at his Kage's face.

"How are you feeling?" His Hokage looked tired. He poured a glass of water and handed it to him, gulping down the entire thing in one second before spoke.

"Confused? Angry? Really don't know?" Minato sighed and sank himself in a chair, still staring at Fugaku.

"You remember your fight with Danzo?" And that confirmed Fugaku that he really had lost his eye.

"That bastard took my eye."

"Were you able to finish him for good?"

"Yes, unless someone rescues him. I lost my eye." There was plea now instead of anger. He was desperate and irritated.

"Does it affect anything." Fugaku looked at Minato like he'd grown a second head.

"Yes, it does. I won't be able to use Susanoo and Amaterasu. That leaves me with only Tsukuyomi." The door of the room opened again and Fugaku saw Kakashi entered the room.

"We still haven't received a word from Konoha Hokage-sama." That worried Minato greatly. He'd sent a letter to Konoha as soon as they arrived in Kiri. But it's been two days now, not a word from them bothered them. He hasn't received a word from Jiraiya either.

"I think we should head back home." Fugaku said as he stood up and stretched. "Don't tell me I've been out for two days."

"You were but I'm glad that you're okay now. We will head home in an hour." Minato said as the three of them exited the hospital. They went to the Mizukage tower and met Mei. Minato briefed her about the whole situation and some other things that needed to take care of. He also left his kunai there again, just in a case like this.

Minato was extremely quiet and that didn't go unnoticed by Fugaku and Kakashi. He was travelling rather fast as well.

"What's bothering you Minato." Fugaku said he jumped from one tree to another and tried to keep his pace with him. Kakashi was behind them, the same question in his mind as his eyes remained focused on Minato's back.

"I'm just thinking about the meeting. Would I be wrong if I tell you that Onoki or even Raikage hired Akatsuki to kill us?" Fugaku frowned as he recalled the events from that meeting.

"But why did then Onoki and Raikage fought you? They could have let them kill us." Fugaku said.

"I'm just thinking what they would have done if I had agreed to a peace treaty." Fugaku snorted at that.

"I think it was just an act to make you relax as they waited for the Akatsuki to arrive. I noticed how Han and Roshi were extremely on guard as if they knew something was going to happen and besides it was their intention to betray you or maybe after you've signed the peace treaty kill you. Remember how they trapped you in that barrier? They came prepared Hokage-sama." Kakashi added his own thoughts in the matter.

"We should hurry; they haven't replied to our letter. I have a bad feeling about this."

"Are you sure about this?" Shisui frowned at Itachi. He had been there to see and hear. He was glad that he wasn't caught. The thing that bothered him the most was how that masked man was able to enter the village without anyone's notice? There was a barrier surrounding the village, that detects the chakra of every person who exit and enter the village, but he'd checked himself and even had asked Inoichi about it without revealing anything.

"What do you mean by that? I heard them, I saw them with my own eye Itachi." Itachi frowned further. "With your father gone, you're acting leader of the Uchiha clan. You should do something about it." It was tiring and not to his mood to sit in an office all day and do paperwork, and now that his father has gone he was acting as a temporary head of the Uchiha clan. Nodding his head with a determined look on his face he spoke. "Call for an emergency meeting. I want Jounin and Anbu captain. Make sure you bring Kushina-sama, Tsunade-sama and my mother as well."

"Right now? It's midnight Itachi and they said they will attack tomorrow night."

"I want them right now here. We need to prepare ourselves for a surprise attack." Shisui nodded his head and vanished.

Anbu Headquarters

Neji, Sasuke, Sakura and Nawaki decided to rest in the anbu compound after coming from a mission. The war has been seized but that doesn't mean that everything has returned to normal. The Hokage has gone to the land of iron for Kage summit. They hoped to see a better and peaceful future ahead.

They missed Naruto, they haven't seen him in months. They never saw him much after the declaration the Hokage made to the village that Naruto was their son. They wanted to talk to him and apologize to him for how they treated him in their last mission together. They were rookies back then, they didn't have field experience and so lashed out at him for hurting Hinata. But as they did missions together with their seniors, they come to realize the true nature of the shinobi nations.

Sakura missed him the most, he was her big brother since he left the anbu. She has seen him walking around the village with a pretty red haired girl. She wanted to talk to him but they were not allowed to interact with civilians and other shinobi on Anbu duty. He was their leader and she felt bad about how they treated him in their last mission. But she was happy that there was someone with whom he can talk to and spend some time, even if it was Kana. Of course she knew about her, it was a privilege for being in a special branch of anbu, Midnight.

Nawaki was in the same boat as Sakura. He knew he would be going with Jiraiya to a training trip soon. He had a pretty good control over his Mokuton. Doing missions outside the village has also given him some experience. He just hoped to see this war end. The forces of Kumo and Iwa had disappeared from their borders and maybe that was the sign of war coming to halt. He missed Naruto and can't wait to see him. His friendship with Sasuke has been nothing like it was before. He was distant and focus more on training than anything else. A rivalry developed between them. Because of that he spent most of his time training. He had even seen him using cursed seal in their missions. He knew that cursed seal was not good for his mind and body. Nawaki didn't tell anybody about it though.

Sasuke never give a damn about it. He told him he will use everything that will make him powerful. The only thing that mattered to him was power, strength. Nawaki was strong enough to become his rival but he knew Nawaki was not the only one strong enough to become his rival. His main goal was to surpass Naruto, his brother and others as well. It was eye opening and motivating to see and hear about Naruto's prowess in the shinobi ranks. Even the Jounin and Anbu praised him, those who haven't even him fight, and he has seen him fight.

The young anbu were trying to go to sleep with these kinds of thoughts when they heard alarm in their compound. They quickly stood up and went to their wardrobe. They changed into their gear and started loading themselves with weapons.

"What's going on?" Nawaki said as he came near Sakura. He was dressed in anbu attire. A sword behind his back.

"I don't know. Let's go and see what the commotion is about." Sakura said. She was wearing the anbu attire as well. She placed anbu mask on her face and left with Nawaki. As they exited the building they saw the entire anbu force stationed there. But they were not common anbu, they belonged to special branch, Midnight.

Ibiki appeared behind them. Neji and Sasuke appeared shortly after.

"This is level two emergency. You are ordered to go to Hokage office for a meeting. Whatever information you get make sure to not reveal it to civilian and police force. Am I understood?"

"YES SIR." They shouted as Ibiki motioned them to go. They all vanished in the shadows, leaving no trace of their presence behind.

"As the special forces of Konoha you're chosen for this mission. The secrecy of this mission is top priority. You will have to keep your mouth shut for the rest of your life even if it costs you your lives. Am I being clear?" Itachi shouted. A unit of Midnight anbu stationed in front of him, young but special. He could sense and see his younger brother standing in front of him.

"YES SIR." He was about to speak when an anbu appeared besides him and whispered in his ear. Itachi didn't let his emotions show but he felt slightly happy to hear the news.

"If they don't need rest than send them to me when they arrive. Also prepare a team to send there to investigate further. That will be an A-rank mission. Bring the chosen team to my office, I'll brief them on the mission." The Anbu nodded his head and vanished.

"So, according to the intel that we have received unknown forces will invade our village. I want you all to be stationed around the Uchiha Compound. Don't let your presence known to the Uchiha and the police force. If anyone of you see anyone from us helping the invaders, I don't have to tell what you need to do." Concealing their emotions was the part of their training, but even than hearing that their village will be under attack was shocking. An invasion was never a good thing. Always unpredictable and costly. But they were trained to guard this village, it was their sole purpose. But even imagining that someone from their ranks would betray them and this village, it was very shocking.

"Any questions?" Itachi barked. Although it was not in his nature to bark and shout like this but it was necessary, to boil their blood and increase their determination. "If you get any information regarding the invasion go to Hyuuga Hiashi. He will be in command of this invasion."

"Hai." They vanished. Neji was in charge of their group after Naruto left.

"I want all of you to choose your hiding spot around the Uchiha district. Send the signal when you see disturbance. Sasuke I want you to go inside the Uchiha compound and try to look for any information." Sasuke grunted before nodding his head and vanishing from sight. Nawaki and Sakura nodded at him before disappearing as well. Neji activated his byakugan and scanned the Uchiha compound for any threats or traps.

It was around the middle of the night when Naruto and Kana arrived at the village gates.

"Ah, Naruto! Glad you're back in one piece." Naruto raised his eyebrow at Kotetsu.

"It's like you have doubts in my abilities." Kotetsu laughed slightly.

"Ah, Naruto, it's not like that. I know how strong you are. I'm just happy that you are back." Kana giggled and Naruto scowled at her.

"Kotetsu! I don't swing that way." Naruto glared at the gate keeper before passing as Kana followed him giggling.

"Do you want to come to my home?" She said and before Naruto could respond an anbu appeared in front of him.

"You both have been called in the Hokage's office."

"I was just going there anbu-san." Naruto muttered before they shunshined to the Hokage's office.

"You look very good sitting in that seat Itachi." Itachi let a small smile appear on his stoic face when he heard Naruto's voice after stopping his kunai attack aimed for his throat.

"And your senses haven't dulled as well." Naruto straightened and stood in front of the Hokage's desk and than Kana entered the office through door and bowed.

"Hokage-sama!"

"Ah, don't call me that Kana-san. Just Itachi-san is fine." After passing through pleasantries and reporting about their mission. Itachi opened a drawer and took out Naruto's anbu mask and placed it on the desk. Naruto raised his eyebrows at that.

"Are you sure?" Kana's heartbeat quickened at Naruto's tone. She glanced at him with a worried expression and saw his emotionless expression. How a person can tune their emotions in such a short time?

"Konoha needs you." Itachi threw a scroll at Naruto who caught it. After reading the content in the scroll his impassive mask cracked slightly.

"Shisui will never lie. And Jiraiya-sama himself thought that you'd killed him but…"

"Is Jiraiya in the village?"

"No, he sent this information through his toad summons." Itachi pushed Naruto's anbu mask towards him. Naruto glanced at it and let a frown slip on his face as he glanced at Kana.

"Itachi! I-I don't think I'd be able to. I'm not that Naruto anymore." Itachi glanced at Kana and sighed.

"She can join as well." Naruto's eyes widened at that. But then it twitched and Itachi smirked slightly when Naruto scowled at him.

"How did you? Are you serious?" Kana frowned when the both of them glanced at her direction. But she didn't let it bother her that they were hiding something from her. They will tell her at the right time.

"I've seen you grow, and I know you. That's why I'm giving you an option, if you think she is ready than by all means she can join. But if you think she is not than you can't back away from this…"

"I know; I know all the rules. You don't have to tell me that." He frowned as he thought through everything.

"You don't have time." Itachi stated and threw the mask towards Naruto.

"She is ready." Naruto said as he caught his anbu mask.

"I don't want to be rude but can someone tell me what's going on? If it involves me than don't you think you should discuss it with me?" The both of them stared at her before Itachi spoke.

"We have a special branch of anbu that have special shinobi, they work differently than other anbu. Naruto was one of them but he resigned after his last mission. But we need him in there now and he doesn't want to join unless you join too."

"I didn't say that Itachi and it's her choice. You can't manipulate her like that…"

"I will join." Naruto blinked at her response and glared at Itachi. "And it's my choice, no one is forcing me and I'm not going because of you. I'm joining because I want to." She said to Naruto who sighed and nodded his head. Itachi looked pleased at that.

"So what is our mission?"

"Just kill everyone comes in your way. Your teammates don't need to know about what you know. You're the leader and my friend that I can trust, that's why I told you about it. Kana will join your squad as well." Naruto nodded his head before leaving the Hokage's office.

"It seems that someone leaked our plans." Zetsu said to Tobi who was standing on top of tree looking down at the Uchiha district.

"No, they didn't leak it. Someone was able to spy on us. That means we have to change our plans."

"What do you suggest? Ask Pein to attack the village?"

"No. I don't want to play that card yet. We will not attack tomorrow night. We will attack now. My clone will go and inform the elders of the clan while I bring our army here."

"Sounds like a plan." The both of them disappeared in their own manner.

An hour later

The Village hidden in the leaves and its people were seeing another peaceful night. Elders, young children, adults and everyone was asleep. Some were still out, doing shopping, eating, chatting with their buddies and just walking with their loved ones. As the night grew old the streets started getting colder and emptier. But the guards and shinobi of the village were still awake. To them it was another night, in which they just have to petrol along the border of their village. They were chunins or low level Jounins that just wanted to play ninja. They didn't know what was lurking behind the shadows, what threat they could face and when they die.

It was no surprise when some of them dozed off. They didn't think that like every other past night someone could attack them. And it was no surprise either when those who had let their senses get dulled and slept found themselves choking and then dying with their wires around their necks.

Around fifty ninjas with their faces covered landed in the village and divided themselves into two groups and went towards the Uchiha compound.

Neji and his team were on guard duty stationed around the Uchiha compound. They knew the Uchiha will be under attack, but what made it strange was when Neji didn't see anyone being evacuated in a safe house, especially the civilians. But who was he to judge? He didn't know everything and his only duty was to watch and dispose the threat when see one, nothing else. He turned off his Byakugan and sighed. It's been nearly two hours since his team has started guard duty. they hadn't detected any unusual activity. The one thing that he'd learned being an anbu was never rely on information completely. It could be wrong, it could be misinterpreted, it could be false info.

A light breeze passed around him as he fought back the urge to close his eyes and drift to sleep. It was a perfect setting for a few hours of sleep. The moon was shining; the trees were singing a lullaby as breeze passed through them.

"Ah! What a good night to sleep." He stretched his legs and yawned. But that good night turned to hell when he heard an explosion. It was so great that his bones felt the vibration in them. The gust of wind passed by him almost knocking him from the tree branch.

"We're under attack!" He quickly shunshined near the explosion sight as his comrades flashed besides him. They were standing in the middle of the Uchiha district, or what remained of it. They could hear the cries of pain and yelling for help. Neji gathered his wits and yelled.

"Slug! Evacuate the injured ones to the hospital with your clones."

"Toad! Stop the fire before it completely destroys the Uchiha compound."

"Snake! I want you to accompany me. Keep your eyes open." Neji got response from Slug (Sakura) and Toad (Nawaki) but he didn't get a response from Snake (Sasuke).

"Snake!" He yelled. The Uchiha boy was lost as his eyes stared in horror. His mouth wide open behind his mask as every noise around him dulled. The only thing that he could hear were screams and explosions. Screams of his people, his cousins, his elders and children of the Uchiha clan. But it wasn't that turned his blood cold. It was the sight of his house on fire as the roof shattered and small explosions erupted inside it that made his heart stopped for a while, a house in which his mother was.

"My mother!" He screamed and ran towards his mother in hopes to find her alive. Neji knew he would not be able to stop him from going after his mother, he would have done the same if he was in his place.

"Slug? Please go after him and leave your clones to do your work." Sakura nodded her head and vanished from their sight. Neji glanced at Nawaki who had his sword drawn. He didn't know what the boy was thinking or what he was feeling because of his mask on his face. Neji took out his katana as well as glared at a shinobi who was about to kill a child. Neji heard Nawaki growled as he placed both of his hands on the ground and roared.

"Mokuton!" He didn't hear the name of the technique because he vanished and appeared behind the enemy. A wall of wood erupted from the ground between the child and the unknown shinobi, thus saving the boy from death. The unknown shinobi didn't have time to react, although he was able to sense that someone was behind him but it was too late as a katana pierced his heart and killing him instantly. The lifeless body fell on the ground and Neji noticed he was wearing anbu attire with faceless mask on his face.

Naruto and Kana were in the Uzumaki compound taking some rest as their clones packed weapons in their seals. Warm mug of coffee in their hands as Naruto tried to close his eyes, even knowing that he was assigned a guard duty, a very important one. Kana was in her own little world, sitting on a sofa with a mug of coffee and humming a tone and dangling her legs. Naruto's ears were listening to her humming as it helped him to sleep. That humming didn't last long as the sound of an explosion hit their ears and made them jolt up to reality.

"Shit! The news was correct but they attacked early. We need to hurry." The clones dispelled and the both of them disappeared from the compound. They arrived at the sight of explosion in record time. The whole Uchiha compound was on fire. Naruto could see and hear shinobi scattering all around like stray dogs. He could hear them yelling jutsus.

"I can sense around fifty chakra signatures in the Uchiha compound, all of their chakras are different, like someone has put some kind of seal on it or something. It's dark but empty like, I don't know." She huffed. Naruto just nodded his head in grim determination, his eyes already turned into sharingan.

"Kana, please try to locate everyone who is alive and send them to the hospital before you fight. I'll go and assist Eagle and Toad." From where he was Naruto saw Neji took down an anbu but he didn't see another two flashing behind him with their jutsus already prepared. Nawaki was on the opposite side of Neji and his focus was on the child behind his Mokuton wall.

"Katon: Karyu Endan (Fire Style Dragon's Flame)." The unknown masked anbu fired a fire dragon that leapt at Neji from several directions. It was fast and deadly. Neji cursed, he knew he can't avoid it, if he did Nawaki and the child will be caught in the fire. He knew some water jutsu but there was no water source around them which will make the jutsu more difficult to perform and he doesn't even have a water affinity. That means he could only use earth technique to defend himself. He was about to perform hand seals for a mud wall when an unknown figure appeared in front of him. Shoulder length spiky red hair with two bangs that were hiding his eyes. He was wearing a dark blue full sleeve shirt with a anbu grey armor, loose black trousers and black anbu boots. There was a mask on his face.

"Suiton: Suishoha (Water Style: water colliding wave)." A large wave of water came out of thin air and the shinobi in front of him used his hands to control the movement of the wave. The dragons that were coming towards them from several directions met with the water wave and the Mist surrounded all around them. The young man not older than him took out his sword and disappeared in the Mist. Neji activated his Byakugan to see and flinched when he saw the mysterious boy cleaving the head from the body with a swift strike. The second anbu lunged towards him but he turned around and embedded his sword right into his heart in a crouched position. The intruder hit the ground and Neji saw the mask for the first time. His eyes widened when he recognized the mask.

"Naruto?" He knew that mask, only one anbu has that type of mask and with his red hair he was sure it as Naruto.

"Eagle! I'm back." Neji blinked and frowned in confusion before he saw Naruto pointing at his mask. Oh! He realized and nodded his head.

"We don't have time and I'll answer your questions later. We have at least thirty more these anbu to take care of." Nawaki appeared besides Neji and nodded towards Naruto. He'd heard him and he will have answers to his questions later.

Sakura didn't care one bit as she jumped into the burning house right where she has seen Sasuke diving into. She knew if she didn't go there than Sasuke could die and she will not let that happen on her watch. She could hear him screaming for his mother and she quickly approached him. The walls, the floor, the roof, the furniture everything was on fire. She saw him on his knees clutching his mother to his chest. Sakura didn't let her eyes filled with tears as she approached him and crouched beside him. She quickly activated her mystical palm technique and scanned her body, then she checked her vital and sighed in relief.

"Your mother is unconscious but not for long, she can die if we didn't save her. Her lungs have filled with smoke. We need to get her out of here." Sasuke's crying and yelling turned into sobs as he looked at Sakura with hope filled eyes.

"R-really? She she's really alive?"

"Dumbass! You should've checked her vital signs before clamming her dead." She hit him on the head as he looked sheepishly at her with tear filled eyes. "Only a minute or two later and she would have been dead. I'm going to take her to the hospital while you go and assist Neji and Nawaki." She said as the smell of burning flesh hit her nose. She looked around and saw two bodies of dead enemy anbu caught in fire. Sakura didn't wait for his response because she knew she would not get one. He was not the same Sasuke that she knew when they were children. The only thing that mattered to him was to get stronger than anyone so that he can avenge all those who had died by the hands of Danzo and his anbu by all those years ago. Because of that he drifted apart, he turned away from Nawaki and her.

"Sakura! Thank you." He shocked her by his response. She didn't acknowledge his thanks. A simple thanks will not be enough for her to acknowledge him again.

Neji, Nawaki and Naruto were surrounded by those masked ninjas.

"Who are they? And why are they attacking the Uchihas." Neji asked to Naruto. They had their backs to each other as they waited for an opportunity to take them down. They were also waiting for help as well.

"Don't you know them?" Naruto said.

"If I'd known them I wouldn't have asked you about them." Naruto ignored the sarcastic reply.

"They are Danzo's agent. Remember all those years ago when Danzo attacked the Uchihas? The Hokage fought them himself but Danzo fled with his remaining anbu. I guess he has returned to finish his job. But the question is, where is Danzo?"

"Well damn! I didn't know he has so many anbu left." Nawaki said.

"We will take care of them. Neji, Nawaki I want you to assist me. I'll attack them and you watch my back while Nawaki will support us with his long range attacks by using his Mokuton roots."

"Alright." They responded as Neji took his katana in his left hand while readied his right hand for his Hyuuga techniques." The next second two anbu jumped towards them when they tried to flee. Naruto intercepted the first anbu's sword strike while Neji appeared on his right side in a crouched position. He tried to close his chakra points but the second anbu appeared on Neji's right side to cleave his extended right arm. Neji blocked the strike with his katana that was in his left hand. Two more anbu appeared behind them to chop their heads but tendrils of wood erupted and caught them by surprise. Naruto and Neji jumped back as they saw the anbu hanging in the air.

"Nawaki! KILL THEM!" Naruto yelled. But Naruto saw Nawaki attacked by two anbu as his concentration on the jutsu lessened. Neji quickly went to Nawaki's side to help.

"Katon: Gokakyu no jutsu (Fire Style: Great Fireball)." Naruto sets the tendrils of wood on fire and saw them burned alive as they screamed. But the next second he was attacked by three more anbu, one from behind, one from the front and one from his right. He blocked the front strike and jumped in the air and threw Shuriken to the one who was behind him. But the one of who was on his right sent the same fireball technique at him. Naruto quickly went through hand seals to produce a water jutsu as the fireball was too close to dodge it. As his hands were going through hands seals, the anbu that was in front of him sent shuriken laced with wind chakra at him. Naruto cursed when another anbu flashed behind him, or maybe it was his clone because Naruto quickly sent his own kunais at him while creating a seal less clone who produced a water jutsu to stop the incoming fireball and through all of this he wasn't able to deflect all the wind laced shurikens.

He gritted his teeth when he felt the wind chakra cutting through his clothes and cutting the muscles of his arms and legs. Then he landed on the ground and quickly shunshined away to where he sensed Neji and Nawaki were.

"Menma! Are you alright?" Neji said as Naruto didn't bother to answer. He was too angry to answer.

"Where the hell is everyone? Their numbers are increasing." He concentrated on his kyuubi's chakra as it healed his wounds. Being a pseudo jinchuuriki was a curse, he can't not transform into a complete jinchuuriki because he doesn't have enough chakra. An incomplete transformation of the tailed beast hurt like hell, he had experienced that during his fight with Yagura. He knew how useful that transformation could be. He will die if someone extracted that chakra from him. And even after that, that damn Kyuubi inside his mind would go on and on about how it hated him for being in the possession of sharingan. But it still has its perks as it allowed him to heal his wounds.

"We need numbers or some destructive jutsus. We don't know what's happening in the village but it seems everyone is busy to not notice that there is a fight going on." Nawaki growled in frustration when again they were surrounded.

"So destructive is it! Nawaki, I want you to use your Mokuton to create a large wall around us so that we can trap them inside. Neji and my clones will distract them." Naruto made several clones as they went with Neji to engage with the anbu. In the meantime, he went through summoning jutsu and summoned his familiar. A white eagle with golden hair around her neck appeared in the air. Nawaki placed his hands on the ground and large thick wood wall circled around them and the anbu. Naruto went through handseals again.

"Katon: Goka Mekkyaku (Fire Style: great Fire Annihilation)." When Neji saw a sea of flames heading his way he shunshined and appeared beside Naruto. The anbu tried to jump and cross the wall but they found themselves caught in lightning jutsu, thanks to Shiro, Naruto's summon. The fire quickly caught the wooden wall created by Nawaki and it spread around them. A group of anbu tried to use a combined water wave jutsu to put the fire down, as they released a large amount of water from their mouth, Naruto and Neji sent their own lightning jutsus at them.

"SHIRO!" Naruto yelled as the bird landed in front of them. Naruto, Neji and Nawaki jumped on her back as she flew.

"Thanks Shiro. If it weren't for you, we'd have turned to ash."

"No problem Naruto. But that was a damn good strategy. And where have you been? It's been months since you last summoned me." Naruto chuckled nervously.

"Ah, sorry Shiro-chan. I was busy. I'll visit after this invasion. That is if the Hokage didn't assign me another mission." Shiro huffed.

"You better or else…" She landed outside the Uchiha compound and disappeared.

"She's angry with me." Naruto sighed and looked around. So much troubles in his life. He looked around and his eyes widened when he saw a Biju dama heading their way.

"Shit. Shit. Shit." Naruto cursed and all of them ran towards their right to avoid being hit by it.

Half an hour ago

Itachi, Shisui, Kushina and Tsunade were in the Hokage Tower discussing the next move as they were given the news of the Uchiha district being under attack. The sun appeared in the sky as the night died down but the screams and explosions were still going on. The door of the office burst open and Shikaku Nara entered. He'd a worried look on his face as he spoke.

"I've a bad news. Our village have been invaded." Everyone looked confusedly at him as Itachi spoke.

"We already know that." Shikaku shook his head.

"That I already know. They are Ne agents and Danzo is nowhere to be seen. But we have also been attacked by Suna. Our shinobi are fighting them." Tsunade gasped and Kushina fumed. Shisui sighed.

"It seems we don't have time. Let's go everyone we need to clear this threat." Shisui said and was ready to do when Shikaku spoke again.

"I want you to look outside and tell me what you see." They looked and their eyes widened when they saw large snakes near the village walls at different places.

"According to my knowledge the Kazekage doesn't have snake summons. The only two who have snake summons are Orochimaru and Anko."

"It seems Orochimaru somehow was able to get help from Suna for this invasion. Our shinobi have seen the Suna and Oto shinobi working together." At that time, they saw an explosion much greater than before near the Uchiha district.

"That's a biju dama." Kushina exclaimed.

"Kushina-sama, I want you to fight this jinchuuriki. Oto doesn't have jinchuuriki and Suna have one tailed biju, so it will be easy to it down. Tsunade-sama I'd like you to protect and save as many lives as you can. While me and Shisui will fight with Orochimaru. Shikaku-san, with Ino-Shika-Cho trio take care of these summons." Everyone nodded their heads as they disappeared from the Hokage office.

Outside of Konoha

Tobi looked with an amused expression behind his mask as he saw snake summons destroying the villages walls.

"Will you look at that. That crafty snake! Is it a mere coincidence or he knew the Ne agents will be invading the village today?"

"I don't know how he came to know about that. But the fireworks looks good. But it's in our advantage nevertheless." Both black and white Zetsu spoke.

"Is our mission completed?" Tobi didn't say 'successful' because it doesn't matter if it was successful or not. Their sole purpose was to eliminate those who have the sharingan.

"Yes. Everyone with the sharingan has been killed." All went according to plan. Almost a year ago he approached the Uchiha elders and manipulated them into attacking the village and it failed but some sided with him and Tobi ordered Danzo to send his anbu for the fight in exchange for more sharingan eyes. And when the Kage summit came he asked Pein to send Danzo because he knew Fugaku will be coming there. He expected Danzo to kill Fugaku but he failed. He didn't care though, he'd his anbu and they attacked and they killed everyone who had a sharingan.

"That's good. It will be easier for us to capture the jinchuurikis now, now that the villages have been severely weakened."

Kushina's heart started beating faster and faster as she sensed Naruto and Nawaki's chakra where the biju dama has exploded. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even gave a glance that who and what was going on around her. Her only thought was her two sons were in danger, they were against a biju.

A strike of kunai and she nearly dodged it with sheer dumb luck. She felt pain on her cheek and than blood pouring out of it. She stopped and turned to her attacker and saw a Jounin from Suna with his sword aimed at her. He has two distinctive, red markings on the right side of his face, the only visible part of his head, with the rest being covered by his turban-like head gear and by a sheet hanging from it on the left side of his face.

"I'm afraid I can't let you pass." Kushina narrowed her eyes at him and glared.

"This is not your village and you are not on guard duty." The man didn't show any emotion on her comments as his eyes hardened.

"The names Baki. Hope you remember it in your next life." He rushed towards her with a surprising speed and tried to slash her face but Kushina blocked it with her own kunai. She didn't think of him taking out a kunai in his other hand and slashed her stomach to only meet with air as she jumped back. The skirmish of kunais and shurikens went between them and it made Kushina irritated by the second.

"I don't have time for this shit." She yelled as chakra chains erupted from her back. Baki dodged them as he came in front of Kushina and blew black sand from his mouth. He kicked her in the stomach when Kushina closed her eyes for a second. Kushina grunted as pain registered in her mind. She felt as if her eyes were on fire. Kushina again directed her chains towards him but Baki sent wind blades towards her thinking that it will destroy her chains. But it was a big mistake as Kushina roared and her chains leapt towards the Suna Jounin at tremendous speed. Baki tried to dodge them but still several cuts appeared on his body as blood gushed out of his body. He dropped to his knees and Kushina didn't give him any mercy as her chakra chain wrapped around him and squeezed it. She felt satisfied when she heard his ribs cracking and then threw him as far as she could.

Naruto, Nawaki and Neji stared with their mouth opens behind their masks when the debris cleared and saw a boy around their age coming towards them. But it was only Naruto who recognized him and his eyes widened in shock.

"Yagura!" As he whispered his name, a look of recognition appeared on his two comrade's faces.

"But didn't you finished him off for good?" Nawaki looked confused and a little scared. If it really was Yagura than, he doesn't they will be able to stop him.

"It seems I didn't." Naruto narrowed his eyes as Yagura landed his eyes on him. There was no emotion on his face. It was blank as his lips moved and he spoke.

"Uzumaki Naruto! It seems we have some unfinished business to finish."

"Eagle, Toad. I want you to get out of here and assist others in battle." Neji and Nawaki looked at Naruto surprised.

"You got to be kidding me! DO YOU think you will be able to defeat him alone?" Nawaki fumed, he never liked this side of Naruto, ordering them to go away when a stronger opponent attacked them. It was like he doesn't trust their strength.

"Do you have any fighting experience with him? Have you ever fought with a jinchuuriki before?" Nawaki didn't answer.

"While I'd like your help when you see me in trouble but for now you should go and help others."

"If that's what you wish Menma." Neji said and with Nawaki disappeared from the battlefield. Naruto turned his attention towards Yagura who was waiting patiently for their bickering to end.

"You're right Yagura. We've some unfinished business. But how did you survive? I'm pretty sure that I left you barely alive. But that won't happen again."

"Yes you're right. That won't happen again. This time it will be you on the ground in your own blood." Yagura had his first tailed cloak on when he attacked Naruto in Taijutsu style. Naruto had his sharingan on but still the speed caught him by surprise. A punch on his face sent him flying in the trees as the third tailed jinchuuriki appeared behind him. Sensing Yagura behind him Naruto took out his sword and buried it in the ground to stop his momentum. He jumped back and saw Yagura again coming towards him. Naruto took out his sword and blocked Yagura's club shaped weapon that had a flower at one end and hook at the other.

The man pushed hard on Naruto and Naruto jumped back to gain some footing before rushed towards him. Yagura bent his club and circular water mirror appeared in front of him and he hooked it on his club. A reflection of Naruto shot towards him and duplicated his attacks. Naruto didn't stop and rushed towards him and than created shadow clones that gripped his reflection as he jumped in the air.

"Raiton: Sandaboruto (Lightning Style: Thunderbolt)." Naruto extended his palms and discharged lightening on Yagura. The man jumped back to avoid the attack and tried to push the mirror in front of him but the lightning was already upon him. it destroyed his mirror and sent him flying back.

Thanks to his first tailed cloak he didn't get injured severely. Yagura immediately went to his third and complete form. Using water techniques was out of the question as he will counter it with lightning. Then the next second biju dama was on him. Naruto disappeared out its way but found Yagura already waiting where he'd appeared and kicked him in the ribs. The force pushed him back and Yagura again appeared behind him but this time he wrapped his tail around Naruto and lifted him in the air than he shot a small biju dama at him. Naruto made a seal less shadow clone that appeared in front of him to take biju bomb head on. The clone didn't last long as the bomb sent them flying and clone dispelled due to sheer force of it. Naruto quickly took out his sword to stop the biju but it didn't last long either as cracks appeared on it. Small trees and branches were breaking when coming in contact with Naruto's back. He gritted his teeth as small cuts started appearing on his back and blood leaked out of it. Thinking fast, Naruto quickly created a clone and substituted with and then there was a loud explosion as trees shattered when the bomb exploded. A second later and bomb would have exploded on him.

Yagura rushed towards Naruto who was coming at him. Yagura caught Naruto's leg, flipped him around and slammed him in the ground. Naruto jumped and buried his knee in his stomach while Yagura released his leg. Yagura caught Naruto's arms when he tried to punch and threw him aside and rushed towards him. Naruto blocked most of the strikes with arms and palms but it was hurting like hell. The force of the punches was amazing. Naruto was preparing himself to deactivate his gravity seals so that he can gain a speed and strength boost when Yagura appeared behind Naruto and he thought he will launch the biju bomb again.

"Suiton: Suiryudan no jutsu (Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet)." A large dragon of water that was easily rivalling the height of trees shot at Naruto with great speed.

"Doton Banri Doryuheki (Earth Style: Great Mud Wall)."He spat mud on the ground and multilayer thick mud wall appeared in front of him. Naruto crouched behind the wall and waited for the water dragon to die down. He saw the cracks appeared on the wall and he pushed more chakra into his technique.

Naruto was sitting in crouched position when Yagura appeared high in the air with biju dama ready. Naruto's eyes widened and his heart thumped in his chest when he saw the bomb coming at him.

There was a large bomb and everything exploded as the force uprooted the trees. The explosion was so great that everyone in Konoha heard it. As the debris settled down and Yagura expected to see the redhead's remains but he saw a light-blue rib cage around him. Yagura recognized it from their previous fight. But this time it stopped only at skeleton with a right single arm and didn't develop further. Yagura didn't let it develop further and attacked Naruto.

'BOOOOM' Yagura's eyes widened when he saw his punch didn't affect the skeleton. He glanced at his opponent who was grinning.

"Your time on earth is over, Yagura. This is Susanoo." With the command from his mind, the skeletal arm moved and picked Yagura from the ground. The Jinchuuriki thrashed around as he struggled to get free. Naruto gritted his teeth when cracks started appearing around the armor. Yagura noticed this too and quickly formed a biju bomb. Naruto panicked for a moment and threw Yagura away from him, the biju dama that Yagura formed missed its target and went south and another explosion caused the forest to damage further. Yagura sent another biju dama that was much larger than the previous one at Naruto. Naruto concentrated at his Susanoo as he didn't try to dodge it, if he'd than it would have exploded in the village. And Yagura knew it.

But Yagura appeared behind Naruto and smacked his fist in the vertebra. The vertebra cracked and Naruto glanced back and glared at the jinchuuriki who jumped back just in time as biju dama crashed into his Susanoo. He gritted his teeth as his control on Susanoo weakened.

Itachi and Shisui sensed the strongest chakra signature and followed and found themselves in the chunin exams ground. There was a man in white robes, his face was covered as he fought easily with their ninjas. It was as if he was toying with them. Itachi and Shisui attacked him at the same time. That was the biggest that they made as four shadows jumped outside of his robes, one in each corner and they went through hand seals in a blur. At that time, Itachi and Shisui were on their target, they did notice these four shinobi though who were covered in their own white robes as well.

"Shishienjin (Four Violet Flame Formation)." The enemy shinobi that were in square formation yelled at the same time and a purple barrier appeared around them and trap them inside. The four shinobi were outside of the barrier and then extended secondary barrier around them to secure themselves from the attacks.

"We have been trapped, Itachi." Shisui looked around the barrier to see any weakness or a way outside of it. There was none as the disguised Kazekage merely laughed.

"There is no way out Shisui-kun. You're trapped unless you defeat me." The Kazekage took off his robes and the Uchiha's eyes widened. Itachi was surprised but he didn't let it bother him.

"So, its you! It seems we were not wrong in deducing your identity." Itachi said.

"You will not be getting out of this alive Orochimaru." Shisui said as took out of his tanto and settled into his stance.

"You got to be kidding me." Itachi stayed behind as Shisui and Orochimaru glared at each other as the chakra flared around them. Small debris picked up around them as the Konoha anbu outside of the barrier arrived and looked on. Itachi had his eyes trained on Orochimaru as he heard Ino-Shika-Cho Trio fighting against the giant snakes, most of them had already been dealt with. Shisui and Orochimaru rushed towards them as Shisui went through hand seals.

"Ninpo: Kawara Shuriken (Ninja Art: Tiles Shuriken)." Tiles from the nearby roof rushed towards Orochimaru who jumped in the air and a large black snake extended out of his mouth and wrapped itself around Orochimaru before biting Shisui's neck.

"Having trouble with that kind of attack?" Orochimaru said, his mouth opened but still there was a smirk on his face. But Shisui dissolved into mud, revealing a mud clone. Itachi went ahead of Shisui and sent shurikens at him. He didn't do hand signs and shurikens multiplied. Orochimaru placed his hands on the ground as purple chakra appeared. Itachi raised his eyebrows and looked on interest, "He's using summons as a shield?" But the debris cleared as three coffins started rising out of the ground and Itachi slapped his hands together and shurikens struck the third coffin to stop it from rising. The third one went in the ground again. But Orochimaru didn't look disappointed.

"No matter, all is well." He muttered.

"I'm afraid I can't fight you today, Shisui-kun, Itachi-kun." Orochimaru smirked through their ordeal. "You are young blood, who thinks that you can kill me. That's why I'll call someone else to help me defeat you. kuku kuku." The two coffins opened and their sharingan eyes widened as they saw the first and second Hokage stepped out of it, motionless and eyes closed.
