Hello and welcome to A Harmonic Symphony. If you are reading the story for the first time, please read this section. I know it is boring but it is important. Think of this as an authors note rather than an information dump.

Disclaimer

To start I want to make it clear that I do not have any rights to the licensed materials I will be using. Established characters, places, the music, etc. belong to the respective owners. I will take credit for original characters/locations and the story however. As for ownership, the games and music composers are as follows:

Ori and Blind Forest/Ori and the Will of the Wisps [Moon Studios, Gareth Coker]

Wargroove [Chucklefish, Phonetic Hero]

Barotrauma [Regalis, Audire Sound]

Endless Legend [Amplitude Studios, FlybyNo]

Hyper Light Drifter [Heart Machine, Disastorpeace]

Verdun [BlackMill Games, John McCormak, Felix Powell, WWI soldiers, Courtland and Jeffries]

Verdun is somewhat of an exception here since the songs in the game (and those that I am using which are not) are actually from WWI. Nevertheless, I am giving credit to where it is due.

Story Structure

To make it clear on how this story is going to work, I am writing chapters around a specific song from the games. While I know nothing about music theory, I intend to capture the general feeling of the music...or at least what I am interpreting it as. I would recommend listening to the songs while reading to get an understanding. The chapter select will hold actual name of the song and the game it is from while the text will have the proper chapter title.

Despite having a structure, I am letting this story unfold on its own. You likely will see familiar chapter titles even if I never intended to reuse specific songs. If you were to see "*Song here* II" when there was no "*Song here* I" earlier, this is why.

The forth wall...yeah that will be a thing in this story. Some characters know about it and this does tie in with the story. It can go anywhere from being aware of being in a fictional setting to outright shattering it. This again is part of the story and not meant to be a gag.

There will also be some mature and dark tones peppered in. An example of this will be depression. Let me make this clear RIGHT NOW, depression is not something is to be taken lightly or brushed over. I may miss the mark on how it presented and handled but that will not be out of a "just get over it" mentality. Rather, it will be due to my writing itself. Please accept my apologies if I in any way brush over or mishandle a serious topic.

Contributions

If you have made it here without leaving or skipping, congratulations! You get to have a fun opportunity with the progression of the story (as it is being written). I will be accepting original characters and music suggestions. Do note that I may not use these for any number of critical reasons and not malicious ones. For example, I may not use a song if I feel like it would not work for the story. Even so, I will appreciate the thought.

For character submissions I would recommend you look up the wikis for each game in order to get an idea on who you are creating (I know I am). As stated before, I may not use your character if I feel like they do not fit the story. On the other side of things, there is the likely chance I might miss the mark on what you envisioned your character to be. I can only promise I will do my best to represent them but do not be surprised if they are different.

As for what I will accept for a character, here are your requirements:

Name

Species

Age (optional)

Allegiance

Character trait (i.e. sarcastic, carefree, cynical, etc.)

Clothing

Weapons (optional)

Occupation

"GET ON WITH IT!"

You are still reading this? Wow, thank you (I mean it)!

Hopefully this covers everything important to get started. I will do a proper authors note after the story is done (or sprinkle it in with the forth wall breaking...could be fun). Until then, I will stay out of the main story.

So without further ado sit back and enjoy the story.
