Chapter 5 Recruiting Other Members
Ichika's POV

I was in the school courtyard and was about to head home…when I suddenly heard a familiar voice yell out my name.

"Ichi-Chan!"

I turned around after hearing this, and saw Saki excitedly rushing up to me.

"Saki", I said as she made it to me. "Why are you so excited?"

"Ichi-Chan, the most amazing thing just happened", Saki revealed. "I just found a bassist for our band!"

"Really", I asked in shock.

"That's right", Saki replied excitedly. "And you'll never believe who it is!"

With that, Saki explained to me what had happened to her earlier.

"I didn't know that Momoi-Senpai played the bass", I said in shock. "And she wants to join our band?"

"That's right", Saki replied happily. "Apparently, her goal is to spread hope to people, but she couldn't find an agency who would let her do that as an idol. Because of that, she switched to playing the bass instead, and now she wants to join a band. But since she hasn't been playing the bass for that long, she won't be able to keep up with a professional band."

"I see", I said. "But we're amateurs, so she shouldn't have a problem playing with us."

"That's right", Saki exclaimed excitedly. "I can't believe that the Momoi Airi wants to join our band! This is almost too good to be true! Ichi-Chan, pitch me again!"

With that, I did as told and pitched Saki's arm yet again.

"Owie", she said, before grinning ear for ear. "This is a dream come true!"

"Well", I started. "I'm glad that you get play in a band with someone you admire so much, Saki. And I look forward to playing with her as well."

"Oh, I almost forgot", Saki said suddenly. "Momoi-Senpai also told me that she has a friend who started playing the drums not too long ago, and that she was gonna ask her if she wanted to join our band as well!"

Ena's POV

I was practicing in my room with a fold-up drum kit.

"Okay", I said when I was done. "I'm actually getting kinda good at this."

"Not bad", I heard a familiar voice say behind me.

I then turned around, and saw her standing by my door.

"Airi", I said happily as I got out of my seat. "What are you doing here?"

"I came because I wanted to ask you something", Airi replied.

"You came all the way here because you wanted to ask me something", I asked in confusion. "Couldn't you have just called me?"

"I could've", Airi started. "But, I realized that it's been a while since we've last seen each other, so I figured I'd come see you in person."

"Fair enough", I said, before sitting down on my bed. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?"

"Well", Airi started as she sat next to me on the bed. "I wanted to tell you that I joined a band!"

"You've joined a band", I asked. "How come?"

"I can't spread hope by playing the bass alone", Airi pointed out. "I need a band to do that. Luckily for me, There's these two underclassmen at my school who just formed a band and were looking for other members. They're amateurs too, so I should be able to keep up with them."

"I see", I said. "Well, I'm glad for you, Airi! When your band performs, I'll definitely go watch you guys!"

"Well, actually…", Airi started. "…I was hoping that you'd be willing to play with us?"

"Huh", I said in confusion. "What do you mean you want me to play with you?"

"The group is also looking for a drummer", Airi revealed. "So, I told them that I had a friend who was learning to play the drums."

"You what", I asked in shock. "Airi, in case you've forgotten, I haven't been playing the drums for that long."

"That's okay", Airi reassured. "The girl I talked to just wants to play in a band for fun. It doesn't really matter how good you are. Besides, you sounded pretty decent from what I heard just now."

"That still doesn't mean I want to play in a band", I pointed out. "Especially with two girls I've never met before."

"Tell you what", Airi started. "Before you make your final decision, why don't you meet the other members of the band first?"
