Ozpin watched with his calm and collected demeanor, sipping his coffee, as the students all filed out onto the cliff edge, all of the initiates standing tall and proud looking out to the exspansive Emerald forest. Some showing their excitement to get underway thumbing their weapons eagerly.
He couldn't help but envy their optimism that their future as defenders of the Remnant was going to be easy.
Oh, how wrong they were. He only hoped they had the will to face the grim challenges that lay ahead for these young warriors.
Veridian stood on the launch pad, surrounded by other initiates. The gears beneath them rumbled, and he could sense the impending launch into the emerald forest. As the anticipation grew, Veridian's heart raced with a mix of excitement and apprehension. The lush green canopy beckoned, and he was about to embark on a journey that would test his courage and resilience.
He cast his emerald eyes down the line, able to see Charlie had found a spot and was looking over his armor. Jaune was taking up the end along with Ruby, and they both got spots near the end. There was an air of determination as they prepared for battle, each lost in their own thoughts but united in their purpose excited for this moment a glimmer of hope in their eyes.
He cast his gaze the other way to see HER. She stood there, a picture of grace and determination. Her eyes filled with a sense of purpose and the quiet anticipation of adventure. With the wind of the cliffs flying her pony tail like a fox tail flicking excitedly, she exuded a poise that was both captivating and inspiring. It was as if she was preparing to embrace the wild with all the confidence of a creature born to roam free and make her mark.
But he was broken out of his stare as the headmaster began speaking.
"For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." The gray-haired huntsman said as he sipped his coffee, and his sexy Authoritarian deputy followed up the professor's statement.
"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... TODAY."
Her stern accent on that word sent many students into shock as Verdo listened closely. Ms' Goodwitches face commanding and authoritative, leaving no room for doubt. She was completely serious. Which meant that he had to be sure to pick a good one. The image of Weiss came to mind but he doubted that would be a wise decision.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well. That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."
Ilene looked puzzled as the professor made a seemingly contradictory directive. "Make the first person you make eye contact with your partner," he said. She couldn't understand the logic behind it. What if the person had no combat skills or just plain sucked? She supposed it was a lesson in adaptability and cooperation. Despite her initial skepticism, she was determined to find a way to make it work. She'd just make sure that her partner was no weakling.
"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die."
Ozpin issued a grave warning, urging them to head to the northern end of the forest, preparing to face opposition. His words were firm and commanding, emphasizing the need to press forward without hesitation. Verdo sensed the tension in the air, he could even hear Jaune gulping from the end. As Ozpin spoke, the gravity of the situation weighed heavy on everyone, contrasting sharply with Ruby's visibly energized reaction to the challenge ahead.
"You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path, containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"
Charlie had none as he cracked his knuckles and readied his Aegis shields, while Jaune, having some words, remained too distant for Charlie to hear. He observed the beacon initiates being launched into the forest, one by one. He widened his stance ready for his own chance to be propelled into the emerald forest. Most of the students were exhilarated to be launched into a grim-infested forest by their teachers. As the mohawked boy next to him was propelled, Charlie readied for his own launch. Feeling his semblance take hold, he absorbed the kinetic power and soared through the air like a bullet.
Charlie flew like a bird through the sky over the mighty emerald forest feeling quite free. And despite the rushing wind tousling his dark chocolate locks past his ears, he keenly monitored the other students' movements. While many attempted to form a group while they flew like him, his attention was diverted by a sudden shrill scream piercing the air.
"AAAAAAAHHHHH" Charlie's eyes widened as he witnessed Jaune hurtling through the air, his body flailing uncontrollably. As Charlie frantically pondered how to intervene, a flying spear whizzed past, mercilessly impaling Jaune against a nearby tree. The world seemed to freeze for a moment as Charlie grappled with the shock.
'Wait, if a TREE was that close!'
Charlie turned his eyes forward again. The ground was getting closer, and he pulled the power of his aura forward, thrusting his fist toward the ground to slow his descent. The kinetic energy he had built up surged from his fist, providing a cushion of pure force. His giant combat boots slammed into the underbrush of the trees, further charging him with power mighty enough to quake the ground. The lumbering giant teen stood on shaking legs as he adjusted to the newfound strength within him.
"Well, that'll be useful if a guy gets into a fight," he said as he looked around, trying to figure out his bearings. He turned back the way he crashed. "Wonder if I should find Jaune...but he was saved by someone...guess theyll help him?"
Charlie wasn't so sure after all; he didn't see who it was that helped his friend by impaling him to a tree.
"It can't hurt to check on him, I guess" Charlie's heart raced as he navigated the dense foliage of the emerald forest, his concern for Jaune weighing heavily on his mind. The encounter with the unknown savior left him unnerved, but he pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on reaching his friend. As he trod through the tangled underbrush, the dense silence of the forest seemed to amplify his apprehension.
He wondered how Verdo was doing.
--
After flying through the sky above the emerald forest like an eagle the badger had landed easily after using his own enhanced reflexes to grab onto the branches of a tree and swing his way down with expert acrobatics. When he landed with ease, he brushed leaves from his leather jacket and looked around with his ears. Most people used their eye's too much but his ears could tell him more than they could see.
He could hear nearly all of the other students; most of them had their guns, using them to aid in their landing strategy. A couple were already engaged with grimm. The badger's keen senses and agile movements set him apart from the others as he surveyed the scene, ready to spring into action if needed.
But Veridians concern was with the blonde dork known as Jaune. He had seen his friend careening through the air like a drunken monkey, only to be miraculously rescued by an unknown savior. Fearing for his friend's safety, he resolved to intervene. Determined he set out to give him a hand and set his friend on the right path once more and maybe partner up with a friend. He stretched his senses out further, and he could hear the grimm on the prowl, the rustling of the forest, and the fur of the animals that called this place home. He could even smell her this far away. He'd know her any where the smell of her perfume on the winds, the sound of her cuteupturned nose giving a another snort of disapproval.
But he couldn't focus on her, so he stretched just a little farther deeper into the forest, and there was Jaune from what he could hear struggling against a tree pinned by some sort of object that he was trying to pull out. Of course, it wasn't a real image in his mind, just a blurry picture that years of training let him discern.
And he knew where his friend was now and where all the grimm were, so Verdo made sure Dante and Virgil were ready, and he began running through the forest as fast as he could, intent on saving his friend before the grimm got to him. The urgency in Verdo's heart was palpable as he raced through the tangled underbrush, his mind focused solely on reaching his friend in time. Every step brought him closer to the looming threat, and with unwavering determination, he pushed himself to the limit, determined to rescue his friend from the impending danger. And he smirked because as his ears told him he could see Weiss heading in the same direction.
Maybe he could make a slight detour to annoy his snow fox just a little.
--
Ilene slashed through the bushes, her movements swift and silent. All she had to was retrieve the loot, and avoid grimm. She couldn't help but feel a surge of confidence. This initiation was proving to be easier than she had anticipated. The grim, infested forest felt more like home to her than the confines of the school. Under Raven's guidance, she had done far worse. It was as if her skills were meant for this very environment.
The air was so much clearer around her as it blew through her iridescent blue tresses. She felt a surge of freedom that compelled her to extend her arms in joy before swiftly cutting down another bush. Despite the unconventional nature of using a bladed chakram for hacking foliage, she knew that with an aura strike, any object could clear a whole forest.
With her senses sharp and alert, she was determined and focused. Ensuring that she would remain keenly aware of her surroundings and ready for any challenge.
(snap)
Ilene didn't turn around after hearing that twig snap. She just kept walking forward, stretched her aura backwards, and sensed... something. It wasn't a grimm that much she knew, but when she lifted her blade, taking a moment to see the reflection, she saw nothing in its silvery mirror before she brought it down on the bush in front of her. Acting as if nothing in the world was wrong.
She kept slashing her weapon at an angle to keep an eye behind her but she saw nothing. But her aura picked up something trailing her secretly. She hummed before she thought, 'Perhaps it could be a semblance? Maybe, but why would someone be hiding themselves from her? She wasn't the enemy. A spy for Ozpin to keep an eye on me? Ha, so much for trust. Well, if that's how they want to play.'
She gripped her chakrams, ready to enact her own plan to expose her tail. Her voice was determined, with a hint of defiance, as she prepared to confront the hidden observer.

Verdo bounded through the emerald forest, his eyes fixed on the trail of Jaune's scent. The air carried a medley of aromas—pine trees, wild grass, loads of animal dung, and Jaune's ratty old hoody. The forest whispered ancient secrets as he raced on, the scent of his goal mingling with the fragrant tapestry of the woods. Each leap taking him closer to his qaurry.
But as he got nearer he picked up his second targets scent of dust and lavender. And he preened as he parted the next brush, and he could see Ruby being tugged by an irate weiss as she declared that they weren't friends, but Ruby seemed happy as a puppy with a chew toy.
"Well, aren't you two a happy couple?" He asked with no fear of either of them being made his partner, also because Weiss wouldn't be this mad unless the younger girl had made eye contact with her, which meant his former lover was paired off with someone she called an immature child, or she could be mad he was staring at her with his usual insufferable smirk.
"Verdo!" Ruby yelled happy to see a friend. Though her partner wasn't half or even a quarter as happy to see him.
"YOU?!" Weiss shreiked angrily the air around her flaring with her power as she shot daggers from her eyes at the mere sight of him.
"Jeez, you sound soo happy to see me. I'll start blushing," he said before stepping forward and sharing a fist bump with Ruby as the heiress seethed at him silently. Glaring at him as though he had insulted her with his mere presensce.
"Have you had any trouble yet?" he asked the diminutive girl. She jumped up and down, happily explaining how her time in the forest was going.
"Nope as soon as I landed, I started running, trying to find Yang, hoping we could be partners. But I kind of bumped into the ice queen here."
"You barreled into me like a cannon, you child!" Weiss chastised Ruby. From how she was shuffling her feet, it was likely an accurate statement. Not that he'd hold it against her; it was probably an accident. But now Weiss was angry and getting angrier by the second. As much as he'd love to annoy her, he didn't want Ruby to suffer as a bystander.
"Ruby, have you seen Jaune any where?" He asked his little friend,"He seemed to have trouble with his landing strategy."
But the reaper opened her mouth ready to say she thought she heard him nearby. But Weiss cut off her diminutive partner pointing over Veridians shoulder.
"He's in the next glen over those bushes, go take that dolt for your partner and leave me be." she said, trying to get rid of him urgently.
With a quick sniff and a listen, Verdo knew she was telling the truth, but it seemed that he was a little too late. Someone else had beaten him to the punch, someone who smelled of weapon polish and Huntswoman speed stick as she helped him down from the tree.
"He sounds fine to me now, and that he's got a partner," he said, informing Weiss, who rolled her eyes before grabbing Ruby by the scruff of her red hood once more.
"Well, huzzah! Now, if you pardon me, my partner and I want to head to the temple and complete this initiation in a timely manner." She said as she tried to head deeper into the forest heading west away from the objective.
Verdo crossed his arms and scoffed as she stomped off, "You're going the wrong way, Weiss."
"I am perfectly capable of finding my own way, Veridian. Now go away. I don't need help from a deplorable reprobate such as you." she said completely ignoring him. Verdo watched as Ruby looked between Weiss and him, her eyes pleading, "Help me," as she was dragged deeper into the forest in the opposite direction.
But the badger could only shrug to the little reaper as she was pulled by her partner. Weiss was far too stubborn for even him. He left them be, knowing that they were smart enough to find their way back to the right path, and so he turned his attention to his other friend nearby and broke through the forest brush.
--
"HEY JAUNE!" he called, getting the attention of his friend as he was heading off with his new partner and likely savoir. It was Pyrrha to his slight surprise; of course, he knew it was her from her scent from the other side of the glen, but knowing it was her had surprised him at first smell.
"Verdo!" Jaune called equally happy to see his friend alright and greeted him with a wave as he emerged from the bushes.
"Glad to see you alright," Verdo said, casting a glance at Pyrrha, "and im guessing with a partner?"
Jaune's new partner nodded as she greeted him with a firm, strong handshake. Verdo had to admit as he looked her up and down. She was quite radiant in her form fitting bronze and leather armor with her perfect skin bright blood red hair and her matching dark green eyes.
"Oh yes, hello again. I saw him falling and thought he could use a hand." She said simply.
"Or a spear, more like. as he flailed like a drunken monkey," Verdo joked, making the blonde blush at his exspense. "Though I suppose it worked out, you did get a pretty partner out of it."
"Yeah, she is pretty great. I mean, did you see that shot?"
Jaune praised shaking off his breif embarassment. Now it was Pyrrhas turn blush, and Verdo knew why. it seemed that Jaune had ensarned the young girl's eye. But Jaune was either just praising her without noticing, or if he wasn't, Verdo could help his friend figure that out later. Right now, they needed to get out of the forest. And his partner agreed.
"We should definitely get moving," Pyrrha said, likely trying to divert the conversation off of her, but she was no less right; they needed to move. "We need to head north to the temple. As the headmaster said, You are welcome to join us; it is better to face the grimm in strong numbers."
Verdo smiled at the offer, but he shook his head.
"Thanks, Pyrrha, but I gotta find a partner of my own, and I think I know where to find one. There isn't much around for a good bit, so you guys should be fine heading north."
She looked at him as he gave them directions, puzzled, for a moment before Jaune told her.
"He has super senses."
And the champion seemed to understand and nod. Before wishing the faunus luck.
"Well, I wish you luck and safety, Verdo."
"You too, Pyrrha," he said, clasping her hand before he turned to her and put his friend in a hug.
"You too, Jaune. (whisper) I think she likes you."
Jaune took his friend's light whisper to heart and looked toward Pyrrha out of the corner of his eye. And Verdo could hear the interest his friend's heart had in the idea from its tiny little putters. Before he gave a little more advice, he said, "Just be cool, be yourself."
And with that, he left Jaune and Pyrrha on their own journey north, with the blonde flashing Pyrrha a dashing smile in his attempts to woo her. He could already hear her heart flutter a little. He wished his friend luck on that endeaver. But he was left partnerless and needed to find one quickly, so he turned his nose and his ears to the forest, looking past the sounds of grimm and other initiates fighting the souless monsters, and kept looking for his other friend in this forest, and since Jaune and Ruby were taken, that left him one option.
--
Ilene had been heading north, just as the professor had instructed, all the while waiting for her pursuer to slip up or give some sort of sign. Whoever they were, they were good—especially at not tripping on any more sticks. Yet they couldn't fully mask their presence from Ilene's aura burst.
If this was just some loser Ozpin hired to keep track of her, she was going to be sure to give him some strong words later. But for now, she needed to deal with it. So she slipped an ice dust crystal into her chakram and kept walking, making it seem like she suspected nothing at all. That was until something cold tapped her shoulder, and she jumped around with Fenrir at the ready to counter, in case this was a sneak attack.
"Uhhh, you don't have to do that," a soft female voice called from nowhere, though it sounded as though it was right in front of Ilene. She darted her deep blue eyes left and right, trying to find the source of the voice, but all she could see was the deep green of the emerald forest.
"Who are you, and why are you following me?" Ilene called out to the forest, still ready for a fight. The voice replied meekly and softly.
"I'm Sasha, and I'm your partner." This confused Ilene as she kept looking around, only seeing that she was surrounded by bushes and trees.
"You technically made eye contact with me while we were walking, but you didn't see me because I made you not see, and I was trying to find a way to tell you, but I was...nervous."
Ilene sighed heavily. She, of course, had to find the shyest person on Remnant. But if this was meant to be, she had to find a way to make it work.
"Well, sweetie, if we're partners, I should at least get a look at my partner, yeah?" She offered an olive branch, put away Fenrir, and held up her hands, but she still saw nothing but plants and squirrels.
"Please, you can trust me," she implored, her tone softening. To her surprise, the air seemed to ripple before her, and a girl shorter than her, clad in a gothic lolita outfit and a large white sun hat obscuring her face, materialized in front of Ilene. The most prominent feature of the outfit was the large white sun hat, along with stockings and combat boots. As she trailed her eyes up, she noticed the girl had two cybernetic arms, which she was trying to hide behind her black dress.
Those likely were a sore subject for the girl and so Ilene just tried to ignore them and held out her hand.
"Hi I'm Ilene," she said, trying to seem friendly and nice. The girl seemed to lighten up as she quickly held out her hand and shook Ilene's, but the quick shake was enough to let her feel how cold Sasha's hands were. Suddenly, the girl seemed to shimmer away again.
"Whoa, whoa, don't disappear on me again," she said, not wanting to play find the partner again. Sasha seemed to shrink into herself as she pulled her hat lower, trying to hide herself.
"Sorry," she whimpered, "but sometimes I shadow myself from people's minds subconsciously."
"Their minds?" Ilene asked, curious. She had thought that this girl had some sort of invisibility or illusion semblance, but to hear it was some mental power made her curious.
"Yeah, I get nervous around people, so I make them see nothing in their heads when they look at me, or I make them forget me and they think they were touched by a ghost."
Ilene's eyes went wide, and she chuckled.
"So you're the ghost of Beacon that everyone's been saying they've been seeing, or rather not seeing?"
Sasha seemed to be getting even shyer, but she managed to give a small laugh at all the rumors she had inadvertently started while just trying to hide.
"Well, once it got started, I honestly thought it would be best to just stay invisible. People usually call me creepy anyway," the girl said, giving a very small smile from under her sun hat, which Ilene could see as she chuckled lightly in the most adorable way. This made Ilene smile with the girl as she walked forward and nudged her gently on her robotic shoulder.
"Well, you don't have to hide anymore with me, buttercup. If anyone says anything about you, you tell me, and I'll sort them out," Ilene cheered up her new partner and wrapped an arm around her before urging them onward north. They had a lot of ground to cover, and now they had to move.
"Come on, partner," the words seemed to have an effect on the girl. She was still trying to hide her face from Ilene under her hat as they kept walking, but now it was no longer with her hiding herself from Ilene's mind and with a small smile on her face.

Charlie pushed past another tree. He had been hunting in the same direction he thought Yellow had landed, but truth be told, he never had much practice with forest navigation, and all of this walking had him huffing through the forest.
He was 7 feet tall and over three hundred pounds; he wasn't made for forest trekking. And so he leaned against a giant oak tree, fanning his chubby cheeks. He had all the power to leap over these trees in single bounds, pent up in his muscles, yet if he did, he could stomp on him or miss him entirely, and so Charlie was resigned to hunting for him the old-fashioned way.
So he found a comfy spot on the tree and sat down, catching his breath. but he was brought out of his break when he heard a giant rustle in the bushes, and he turned on his aegis, and his armor extanded up his arms and past his forearms.
But he wasn't met with the white bone masks and dark black skin and fur of Grimm; he was greeted by gleaming armor and dust-powered weapons by a group of four led by a guy toting around a mace and light chestnut brown hair so greasy it could shine Charlie Gauntlets for a week.
"Well, well, look at what we have here." Mr. grease said as he was flanked by four guys: a black-haired boy wearing armor toting around a dark-looking halberd, another boy with brown armor and a sword with some sort of attachment on the fuller, and some mohawked-looking punk twirling around a pair of knives. There were four of them, which meant they were likely all already partners.
Now these were some of his fellow initiates he recognized, especially the guy with the greasy slicked back hair. Hed been the same guy who had made that fat camp joke on the transport ship, which was why even though they weren't grimm, he didn't deactivate his weapons as they kept stepping closer. He just lowered his arms a little.
"Hey, have you seen the temple around here, tubby?"
The guy with gleaming armor and his golden wing shining asked him.But Charlie just glared at him. and his little posse circled around him. Whoever this guy was was obviously playing the big dog for this little group, and they were following him like good little betas. Charlie has seen it loads of times when dealing with jerks who thought they could bully him.
And this guy was a bully with NO doubt in Charlie's mind. But he couldn't let him get to him, so he just shook his head.
"No, I've just been searching for my friend." He told the truth, hoping that they would just leave him alone.
"Hehe, hunting for a snack more like it." The dark-haired halberd boy taunted the easiest insult to Charlie's weight, and the rest of them just laughed except their pseudo leader, who just smirked at Charlie.
"Come on guys, we don't want him to cry. He'll, bring the grimm here to us. Let's just go and find our relics. We'll, leave two tons here alone."
Charlie ignored them and their acquaintance or did his best to ignore it. They were the only source of noise around, aside from the cracking of his knuckles as they all walked away. They kept walking and walking until they were just far enough away, and Charlie spun around angrily, connecting his fist with a tree. With the built-up energy and strength, it reduced the tree's trunk to splinters, and it began falling right toward that group of jerks, and the tree landed on top of them all, crushing them as they screamed in surprise.
And Charlie, with a stoic look in his eyes, walked up the tree trunk until he was right above that jerk as he and his friends were trying to pull themselves out of the thick branches and leaves of the tree.
"Oh dear, you should really be careful after all; this is a dangerous forest."
Charlie smirked down at the loud mouth as he growled up at him, trying to find his mace, but Charlie didn't give him the chance to find it; he just leapt off the fallen tree and began walking his way deeper into the forest.
(clap clap clap clap clap)
Charlie looked around as he heard a slow clapping that echoed through the trees, and he finally saw where it was coming from. He looked up to see Veridian clapping his hands, likely having seen the whole show, as he smirked and then leapt down from the trees right before Charlie.
"Now that was an inspired way of dealing with bullies." Verdo complimented Charlie for having calculated the exact moment when the gaylord of jerks would have only been dealing branches and not getting crushed by a giant pine tree.
"I really shouldn't have done that," Charlie said, feeling a little ashamed. He let his anger get the better of him even if he did know they would be arlight.
"Pffft, theyre fine, and you knew they were going to be, "Verdo brushed it off. "Beside their huntsmen, if they let themselves get crushed by a tree, then I doubt they would be able to handle the grimm."
"I guess," Charlie replied, not entirely convinced, looking back at them, but focusing on his friend.
"Hey, have you seen jaune?"
"I guess you caught him flying through the air too."verdo deduced but then again it wasn't really a secret at least the whole class had caught him flying through the air like a momo.
"Yeah, it seemed like he really didn't know what he was doing." Charlie recalled his friend flying through the air rather pathetically. "I was trying to find him to make sure he was okay."
"I already did," Verdo said, thumbing over the way he just came from. "Yeah, the one who saved him from falling partnered up with him; it was Pyrrha Nikos."
"Really?" Charlie asked, surprised, before Verdo nodded.
"And since he already had a partner, I thought it would be better if I found you." The badger held out his hand and looked Charlie in the hazel eyes, and the giant brawler cut his armor away before he shook Verdo's hand happily.

Glynda observed the students with a sense of reassurance as she remarked next to the headmaster.
"And with Mr. Malachite pairing up with James Son, Ms. Valkyrie, and Mr. Ren, the last of the pairs have been made." She glanced at the screen , knowing that they weren't alone in monitoring the students; the other teachers were also present in the Emerald Forest, ready to offer assistance if needed, although the dangers there were relatively minimal. Just the most basic of grimm. Though she held great trust in the teachers abilities. And from what she had seen these students had potential and likely wouldn't need their help.
The headmasters deputy observed Nora Valkyrie's exuberant nature driving the stoic boy crazy, despite his persistent smile after he single-handedly dispatched a king Taijitu. As they began trekking toward the temple, Glynda couldn't help but think.
"The poor boy, I cannot see him and Ms. Valkyrie getting along, but he seems better off than Ms. Niko." She then flipped to a video feed of Jaune and Pyrrha walking side by side in the same direction.
"I don't care what his transcripts say; this Jaune fellow is not ready for this level of combat."
She said condescendingly to the boys shown skill; she had already been unimpressed by the boys lack of tact when he had been flung from the cliffs; he should have been able to use an aura-enhanced landing that was basic training.
She flipped to another image of Ilene as she and the ghost of the beacon were heading north at good speed.
She shook her head still untrusting of Raven's former lacky. Qrow may have sung the girl's praises and vouched for her but his judgment was hardly credible. But she was playing by the rules so far.
"And it seems Ms. Saturn and Ms. Arkham are making good progress, and it seems to be doing well for her attitude. Although Mr. Agro is with Mr. Malachite (the image changes again to the boy's in question), that raises some questions. Why did you accept his application, Professor Ozpin, knowing full well who his mother is? For that matter... professor?"
She looked to the headmaster, and it seemed he was focused on keeping track of Ms. Rose and Ms. Schnee intently; she knew why. Keeping an eye on one of the few silver-eyed warriors left on the planet was a priority, but she doubted that Ms. Rose needed such diligent attention at the moment.
"OZ!" With a flick of her wrist, the tablet flew from the professor's hands, and he was forced to divert his attention to her. and the man was hardly phased; he merely sighed before asking in his normal tone.
"Something on your mind, Glynda?" He asked, and she allowed the tablet to fly back to his hands.
"YES... Why have you allowed so many potentially dangerous students to apply to beacon this year?"
She pulled up images of Ilene Saturn, Charles Malachite, and Sasha Arkham, looking at them skeptically.
"Is it because of what happened to amber?"
That she could understand; she knew of Ozpin's secret of never-ending life and how it made him stoic and wary, but still, what happened to Amber has put them all on edge. It reeked of a preemptive strike. and they couldn't risk Salem getting the power; perhaps he hoped that one of these dangerous young girls would be the one James could use, at least when the machine was delivered.
"Well, I will not say that what happened to Amber hasn't influenced my decision," Ozpin admits as he looks at the images of the young girls before turning back to watching the students as they trailed to the northern temple.
"I know that their pasts do not give one confidence in their character, but I believe in second chances for our youth, and I believe that they have a great aptitude for potential if given the chance. Besides, they had some very convincing arguments given to me by a sponsor."
Ozpin's last words seemed odd, even for someone like him to say. And it made Glynda wonder: who would want them to allow two former criminals and a shy cyborg to come attend Beacon?
"And who exactly is this sponsor?"
Ozpin was so deadly silent that he paid no mind to her question. He merely kept watching the screen, keeping an eye on their future students, and Glynda knew that pressing her luck more than once in the same day was not wise concerning Ozpin. After nothing with this man was nothing, as it seemed, she only knew that if anyone ever wanted those children here and if they forced the headmaster to be completely silent, they were not to be trifled with.
She only hoped that whatever deal with the devil Ozpin may have made was worth it and helped these children through initiation.
