Chapter 1

Percy's POV

I was running through the halls of Westover Hall after seeing leave with the Di Angelo kids.

"Grover, Thorn is taking Nico and Bianca get your furry hind quarters outside and bring Thalia and Annabeth with you" I screamed at Grover through our empathy link really hoping it worked.

I exited the hallway and found myself in the entrance hall. I looked around and saw the Di Angelos huddled in the corner of the room looking terrified of me, thats when I realized they were looking past me!

I uncapped Riptide in a flash and turned around only to get backhanded across the room into the wall I grunted in pain before two sharp projectiles flew at me. One embedded itself into my shoulder while the other pinned me to the wall.

I screamed in pain before came over to me removed his big coat and revealed the body of a lion and the tail of a scorpion.

All I could think was well this sucks before Thorn pulled the spike pinning me to the wall out and took me to the cliff outside and pulled out a walkie Talkie and said "I have the package ready for pickup"

There was a reply but it was too garbled for me to understand. As we were standing in the cold waiting for whoever Thorn called, or my reinforcements. Thorn couldn't help but monologue.

As he was talking an invisible force pushed us down right as lightning bolt landed where us and Thorn had been. To my surprise, he had dodged it.

I stood up and held Riptide my trusty sword in my arm without the spike in it. Before I went to help my friends, I grabbed the spike and pulled as hard as I could ripping the spike.

It was covered in blood and dislodging it had made more blood stream from the wound. I cursed at my stupidity but didn't let it deter me.

I charged at the Manticore while it was distracted by Thalia, slicing at his back and drawing some blood, but he had fast reflexes and knocked me and Thalia into a snow bank a couple of feet away.

I looked over at Thalia and helped her up, and said "Sorry about leaving yall, should have waited"

"It's fine, I would have done the same. Let's just kill him before it gets worse." Thalia responded

As we got up and Re-engaged the monster I heard a horn blow sounding like a hunting horn this confused me but seemed to scare the manticore half to Tartarus. HE swatted me and Thailia away again.

He turned to the forest where the horn came from and yelled "You can't interfere in this" while throwing spikes into the trees where they were intercepted by silver arrows some that pierced him others were knocked aside.

Out of the trees, several dozen girls stepped out all clad in silver with one girl in the middle responding to the manticore saying "The hunting of wild beats is in my domain, and you are a wild beast"

Another girl who looked to have a Tierra on her head asked "permission to kill Milady." "Permission granted" the first girl said.

There was just one problem Annabeth jumped on his back blocking the girl's target. The Manticore was struggling to the edge of the cliff I reacted instinctively, jumping, and was able to push Annabeth off his back and stab him in the stomach.

I was happy for all of two seconds before I was grabbed by the manticore and fell off the cliff still in his grasp. I heard a scream that sounded like Thalia and then my vision faded to black.

Thalia's POV

Everything hurt, but what hurt the most was watching Percy save Annabeth but being taken by the manticore. I rushed to the cliff edge looking for any sign of Percy. I had tears streaming down my face but I didn't care.

Someone came and dragged me away from the edge, it was Annabeth she engulfed me in a hug. After a moment one of the Hunters came up to us I looked up at her and was immediately angry at who it was.

Zoe Nightshade, I couldn't stand her so annoying and proper she got on my last nerves. "What do you want" I sneered. "Lady Artemis wishes to see both of you" she replied simply. (Zoe is not gonna talk all properly, it is too much of a pain to write)

We got up and followed her to one of the tents, the one we entered was slightly larger than the rest of them. On the inside, it was filled with animal pelts and a very comfortable-looking bed.

In the middle of the tent, there was a young girl who I recognized as Artemis. I bowed and said "Lady Artemis" Annabeth did the same and we sat in front of her while Zoe sat on her right side.

After discussing our mission Artemis turned to Zoe and said "I have been blind there have been stirring that I need to attend to, A solo hunt" Zoe frowned at this and seemed ready to disagree but before she could Artemis continued "You will go to Camp Half Blood I will call for my brother to take you there."

Zoe didn't seem happy about any of this but seemed to sense there was no point in arguing.

A minute later Bianca Di Angelo entered and Artemis motioned for her to sit by Annabeth. Artemis Turned to the two girls and asked "Have you made your decisions" I was confused by this, then at the same time both girls responded "Yes Milady"

Annabeth turned towards me and said "Sorry Thals but I really want to do this" That's when it all clicked she was joining the hunt. I stood up and stormed out of the tent.

I was sitting with my back on a tree when I saw the silver flash from Artemis's tent. I sat there in anger waiting for Apollo to arrive and take me to camp.

Luke's POV

I was looking at the ground where Percy was lying unconscious I had just finished pouring Ambriuosa on the wound as it was healing I looked at Thorn and said "Good job, you might not have gotten the Athena spawn but you may have gotten someone better." I looked over at Atlas who was still under the sky… for now.

Percy groaned as he started to regain consciousness. When his eyes opened the first thing he saw was me.

I reached my hand out to help him up which he grabbed reluctantly. Once he was up he asked "What do you want, and why am I here" I laughed and said "Straight to the point okay I see how it is. Kronos needs his General free from his burden and someone else has to take it, that dear cousin is why you are here."

His eyes widened as he saw Atlas and he finally understood what was happening. I took out Backbiter and said "Go take the sky from Atlas or you die simple as that" I heard Percy sigh as he walked towards Atlas.

He positioned himself under the sky next to Atlas and braced himself when Atlas let go and walked out I could see just how much Percy was struggling.

I went up to him and said " I don't know if you can hear me right now, but it makes me happy because you can't drop the sky because if you do everything within 100 leagues, which means cities with innocent people and you wouldn't want to do that now would you" I asked mockingly.

Percy's POV

This sucked when Luke offered me the choice I should have picked death because this was terrible.

Everything burned I couldn't even see properly. But what made it worse was what Luke said about me dropping the sky, I had no doubt that the weight of it would do exactly what he said and I was not willing to test it if innocent lives were in harm's way.

First chapter down. A lot has happened in this Annabeth and Bianca join the Hunters. Thalia is super angry and sad, and Percy was forced under the sky what do yall think will happen next? If you have any reviews or critiques please tell me I would love to hear them.
