Chapter 2

Thanks to everyone who reviewed the last chapter I appreciate it. I would like to say that this is my second story ever, and the second one that I am working on right now. I will update as much as I can, just know that I will not abandon this story.

Percy's POV

"AHH" I screamed as the whip hit my back again.

Evidently it wasnt enought that they forced me to hold the sky they also had to whip 10 times every hour.

After each session as the called it they would throw a bucket of sea water on me so I could still hold the sky and my injuries would heal slightly but still scar.

After the first day of me holding the sky straight, Luke came into my feild of vision with a malicious glint in his eyes.

I heard a yell that seemed to be out of frustration down the hill but I still couldn't see who it was, although it sounded like a woman.

A moment after the scream I heard the victorious laugh of Atlas, and then I heard his footsteps start approaching.

Then I was hit by the whip again which in turn made me yell. This time it seemed worse though because when I coughed, I saw blood come out of my mouth. "That can't be good" I thought.

I was hit again and my vision went black for a second but I didn't go unconscious, when my vision came back I saw Atlas holding a girl who looked to be 12 years old.

When I looked closely I saw she was in the clothes of the Hunters of Artemis, she had celestial bronze chains around her arms and legs.

That was when I was whipped again I screamed in pain which in turn made me cough up more blood. The girl cringed at the sight of this… of me.

Atlas said "Artemis Time for you to take the burden now my dear" she snarled at him. My eyes widened in shock that this was Artemis.

The whip hit my back again I screamed again in pain. That was the tenth whip, I was, done I hoped. That's when the water hit me. Trying to mend my back, and it gave me the energy that I desperately needed.

Artemis was pushed beside me and I said "Don't take it" She sighed and said " I must if I don't you will die, and even though you are a boy dying to this burden is too cruel a punishment for any mortal" I was dragged out as she took the sky.

She strained under it taking a knee to support herself, and I just laid on the ground dead tired. My breathing was ragged. Luke and Atlas walked away leaving me lying in front of Artemis.

I checked my pocket where I found Riptide I did my best to stand which hurt as my legs were sore and soaked in blood. I took out my pen and uncapped it, With as much strength as I could muster I slashed the chains around Artemis and said "You need to go, I will take the sky"

She looked at me in disbelief and asked "What about you boy" I shook my head saying "You're more important than I am, now quickly before they get back" I took my place beside her and she stepped out and I was back under the painful burden.

She looked at me sadly before flashing away. Right as she did Luke rushed up and took in the scene and had a scowl on his face when he asked "What have you done" in response I spit in his face it was a mixture of both salvia and blood.

That didn't seem to help his mood any as he punched me across the face causing me to spit even more blood up.

"I am going to inform Atlas of this and when I get back I will enjoy the punishments I get to give you," Luke said

Artemis's POV

I was very surprised and confused as to why Perseus would save me from the sky and retake the burden even after being beaten by the servants of Kronos.

I flashed from Mount Othrys to Mount Olympus's throne room and shot an arrow into the sky signaling a meeting.

Surprisingly Apollo was the first one here and he ran to me and hugged me saying "I thought they got you, how did you get free"

When we stepped apart I said "I will tell you once the rest of the council gets here" He seemed satisfied by this and sat on his throne.

In ten minutes all twelve thrones were full and Hestia was at the Hearth tending it like always. My father spoke first "Daughter, why have you called this meeting?"

"Two reasons first I found Perseus Jackson" I said, at this Poseidon practically jumped out of his throne. I signaled for him to let me finish. "Secondly I was captured by Atlas and forced under the sky"

This got many gasps and an Apollo who immediately came to check me for injuries when he found nothing but a few bruises and dried blood that my godly healing was already working on, he went back to his seat.

Poseidon asked "Where did you find my son" I sighed before answering "He was under the burden before I got there, he was being beaten while forced to hold it, and he is the only reason I'm free. He retook the sky so I could escape and warn all of you"

My uncle seemed to deflate upon hearing this, his hair graying before my eyes.

"I vote for there to be a quest to free Perseus and trap Atlas back under his burden," I said

Apollo said "I agree, if the vote goes through I will send the Oracle to deliver a prophecy"

After the vote 9 were for and 3 were against the ones against were Ares, Athena, and Dionysus.

"After their game of capture the prophecy will be given," Apollo said

I will tell Zoe because she will be a part of this quest, and I don't want her caught unaware by it I told myself.

With that, the meeting ended and I flashed to warn Zoe.

Thalia's POV

I was beyond pissed. All my friends were gone, Annabeth joined the hunters and stayed with them all the time, Luke joined Kronos, and Percy got kidnapped.

Maybe you're thinking but Thalia you still have Grover, NOPE he is swooning over the hunters any chance he gets.

It also didn't help that I crashed the sun chariot into the lake. A fear of heights is Ironic for a daughter of Zeus to hate, but I just can't help it.

I had hung around Nico a lot surprisingly. Since Bianca joined the hunt I took a big sister-like role in his life.

It was time for capture the flag and I was excited it was a time for me to get my anger out on the hunters.

The campers had decided to put our flag on Zues's fist. It was easy to guard and a good vantage point to see incoming attackers.

I would be on offense as a solo to both grab the attention of the Hunters but also to kick some butt.

The Athena cabin was pretty depressed about their leader leaving them. She had been a year-rounder for around 7 years, and she left camp for a few months BAM she joined the Hunters.

Chiron was telling us the rules even though almost everyone knew them. Once we went back to our respective flags, we were given the signal to start.

I ran around trees and across the creek as fast as I could trying to be somewhat hidden but my main need was speed.

I saw the Hunters flag and it was guarded by Annabeth. This couldn't have worked out better.

She had on the hunter attire with a bow in her hand and hunting knives on her hips. I noticed that she had gotten rid of Luke's knife. I wondered if that was for more than one reason.

There were two other guards with Annabeth as well who looked about 12, but I knew you could never be sure with Hunters.

I made my way to Annabeth with sparks started to snake their way across my arms as I ran. I zapped two of the hunters stunning them as I got closer to Annabeth.

She noticed me and started firing her arrows. I willed Aegis to appear in my hands and blocked the arrows and continued my charge.

When I was about a foot in front of her she drew her knives and behind her, I noticed Malcom grab the flag and start making his way to the creek which was the border of the game.

I knew I was superior in close combat so I started my onslaught stabbing, jabbing and occasionally swinging my spear like a baseball bat. My shield blocked all of her futile attempts at getting under my guard.

After a minute I had disarmed her and said "I expected more Annie" Before turning to the hunters I had shocked earlier on. After a few minutes of fighting them, I heard the conch horn sound and watched as the hunters looked at their flag only to see it gone.

I smiled and hoped Malcolm had been fast enough when I reached the creek I saw all the campers cheering and Chiron with a look of pride on his face.

"The campers have won" Chiron announced. All the hunters looked rather angry at the loss but none more than Annabeth and Zoe. That sight made this win all the more fulfilling to me.

We were all cheering when all of a sudden I saw the Oracle hobbling out of the forest and looking directly at Zoe. As the green smoke left its mouth and circled its body a disembodied voice spoke "I am the spirit of Delphi, Speaker of the prophecies of Phoebus Apollo, Slayer of the mighty Python" We all stared at the Oracle shocked and I heard Chiron mutter "Impossible she has never left the attic before"

The Oracle continued "Approach seeker, and ask" Zoe stepped forward and asked "What does my mistress request for me to do"

5 shall go West, both Heroes and Hunters,

Finding the burdened one

And restoring the forgotten one

Facing the friend who turned

We were all shocked even more so if that was possible. Annabeth had that look of thought in her eyes like she did when developing a plan.

After a moment of silence, Chiron said "Counselor meeting in the Big House"

All the counselors followed him to the big house for a meeting that was bound to be fun.

The second chapter is down. The prophecy took me a while to make as I needed to tie in elements from the original book as well as my vision for this story. I hope you enjoyed please review whether it is ideas or critiques I appreciate both.
