Chapter 10
(Back at Fairy Tail)
It had been a few weeks since everyone had gone to the Tower of Heaven and came back after making a grave for Simon.
Erza's friends had said their goodbyes to Erza and Levy, to go see the world a bit, seeing as they had not had the chance to explore at all, thanks to Jellal. But they had told them they would keep in touch.
Currently, everyone in the guild was getting ready for the Harvest Festival.
["What's this even for anyway?"] Kurama asked curiously, as he sat at the bar, while he waited for his steak.
"It's a parade the town puts on every year and everyone puts on some kind of performance at the parade" Levy said
"In groups or by themselves?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It depends on the ones performing," Levy said with a shrug.
["Don't even think of it"] Kurama said flatly, as he felt Naruto look at him.
"You're gonna do something. All of us at least do something for the parade, so we can show some pride in being a part of the guild" Erza said firmly, as she looked at Kurama with a firm look.
["Gah! Fine! Damn me and my pride"] Kurama grumbled.
"Awww, so you do care about the guild" Will said with a grin, as she pet Kurama on the head.
But this caused Kurama to snap his jaws at her hand, making her pull back in surprise.
"Is there anything else we do for the festival?" Naruto asked Levy curiously.
"Well, there's the Miss Fairy Tail competition," Cana said with a grin.
"What's that?" Will asked curiously.
"It's where all the girls of Fairy Tail dress up and show off how beautiful they are," Mirajane said, as she handed Kurama his steak.
"Ah, it's like a pageant for the female ages of the guild," Naruto said with a nod of understanding.
"Is there prize money?" Lucy asked hopefully.
["Heh, need rent money, blonde?"] Kurama asked with a snicker, before he began eating his steak.
Lucy frowned at this but said nothing, before Naruto placed some money down in front of her.
"Here, that should cover a few months for you" Naruto said firmly, as he knew Lucy had been struggling to make money lately, thanks to the jobs she was taking going bad.
"Naruto, this is way too much. I can't just -" Lucy was saying, before she was cut off.
"And you ending up on the street is better?" Naruto asked, raising an eyebrow at this.
"Hey, she can stay with us," Will said with a grin at Lucy.
"…fine. But I'm gonna pay you back - oh, grow up!" Lucy said to Naruto, before she noticed Will's smile and Kurama snickering, causing her to blush at this.
"Just because we can't stop growing old, doesn't mean that we have to stop growing up" Will said with a grin.
"Anyway, I'm gonna enter this. Hopefully I'll be able to pay you back some, if I can win" Lucy said to Naruto.
"I'm in too! It sounds like fun" Will said with a smile.
"I'm joining too" Mirajane said with a smile
"I'll join. I need more money for booze" Cana said, as she finished drinking from a large barrel.
"I shall join too!" Juvia yelled with a smile.
"I'll join in too" Bisca said with a grin, as she twirled one of her pistols slightly.
"I think I'll join as well," Levy said with a grin.
"I shall be joining as well," Erza said with a nod.
"Gah! I'm doomed!" Lucy groaned, as she slammed her head against the counter.
["Yup. I'm not even human and I know you're a wallflower, compared to some of the others here"] Kurama said with a flat tone.
Lucy growled at this, before she took out her whip and slapped it against the back of Kurama's head.
["Oi! Call off your dominatrix girl! Ow! Cut the crap!"] Kurama yelled, as Lucy hit him again.
"Then don't talk crap about her. Even Happy isn't that dumb to make a crack about her looks" Naruto said with a scoff at his friend.
"Yea, you're plenty hot Lucy. Right, babe?" Will asked, as she put her arm around Lucy and looked at Naruto.
"…that's a loaded question, woman," Naruto said with a flat look and tone.
"Oh, relax. You can answer this with no repercussions" Cana said with a scoff.
"OK then. Lucy, you are plenty beautiful, along with the other girls that are entering" Naruto said.
Lucy smiled at this, along with the other girls.
["Wuss. You didn't even say who would win"] Kurama said with a scoff.
"Well I'm not stupid" Naruto said with a casual tone.
"Ah, Naruto. Congratulations. I am making you the judge for the Miss Fairy Tail competition" Markarov said, as he walked over to the bar and jumped into his seat.
Naruto froze at this, as he felt all the girls' eyes on him.
"Good night, sweet prince" Happy said with a grin at Naruto, making Kurama burst out laughing at this.

(Later)
Everyone was getting to the guild hall, ready for the Miss Fairy Tail competition and Naruto was sitting at the judges table, with Kurama sitting next to him.
"Are you ready for the competition?" Markrov asked, as he approached Naruto.
"Let's see; I have been getting looks that are either begging or threatening from my teammates, barring Kurama. How the fuck do you think I'm doing?" Naruto asked with an annoyed tone, as he gave Makarov a scowl.
"Oh, it can't be that bad," Makarov said.
"Will said that if she loses, he's not getting anywhere near her for a month," Cana said with a snicker, as she drank from a small flask.
["That's one of the most empty ass threats I have ever heard. We all know that she would break after a weekend - oi! That shit was sharp, you bitch!] Kurama was saying with a scoff, before he ducked avoiding a broken bottle thrown by Will.
"The next one won't miss, ya damn furball!" Will yelled at him.
Kurama blew a raspberry at this, as Will was dragged backstage by Cana.
"…well, beyond that, I chose you to be the judge, because you're the most unbiased of the group," Makarov said after a moment of silence.
"And the most sane," Naruto said with a grumble, as he took out his pen, ready to take notes for the performances.
"That too" Makarov said with a nod, having no problem admitting this.
"OK everyone, let's get this started! I am your announcer Max Alors" a man with beige coloured hair that was in a bowl cut, who was wearing a tuxedo, as he spoke into a microphone.
Everyone cheered at this, as the lights went down and spotlights shined on the stage.
"First up, we have Cana Alberona" Max announced, as Cana walked out onto the stage.
"Sorry ladies, but that prize money is mine," Cana said with a smirk, before she used her cards to change her clothes to a brown bikini, which she struck a pose in.
This caused many of the men watching to have nosebleeds along with hearts in their eyes, as they cheered loudly at this.
Naruto broke his pencil in surprise at seeing this, while he blushed at this display.
Cana smirked in victory at this, before she winked at Naruto, as she walked off stage.
"Next up, we have Juvia" Max said, as he stepped aside, showing Juvia on the stage.
Juvia smiled as she summoned some water, which flew around her, before her clothes changed to a blue bikini.
This got more cheers from the men in the audience.
"So, do I look ravishing, my darling?" Juvia asked Naruto with a smile, as she posed for him.
Naruto said nothing, as his brain had short circuited a bit at this, causing Juvia to smile as she left the stage.
"Next on stage is the lovely Mirajane" Max yelled, as Mira walked to stand next to him.
"I'll be using my Transformation Magic" Mira said, as she rubbed her hands over her face, as the men leaned forward, eager to see what she'll do.
"This is my Happy face" Mira said, as her head turned into Happy's.
["Well, at least the entire show isn't some peep show for the brat"] Kurama said with a snicker at everyone's disappointment
"And this is my Gajeel face" Mira said, as she then turned her head into Gajeel's.
"HA! You look good in a dress, Gajeel!" Natsu yelled with a laugh.
Gajeel growled at this, before he went to attack the Fire Dragon Slayer.
"And next up, we have Erza Scarlet!" Max announced, as Erza approached the stage in her regular armor, which made everyone cheer loudly.
Erza then requiped into a black dress, with a black bow in her hair, that was done as a ponytail, with black stockings, black shoes and a purple skirt.
This got a lot of cheers from the guild.
"These women, I swear" Naruto grumbled as he made his notes, before he froze, as he saw Erza smile at him specifically.
["Oh great, she's into you. I owe the stripper and flame brain money"] Kurama groaned out seeing this.
"Wait, you betted on if she'd like me?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow.
["I figured she was into women, sue me. I took a shot - Oi!"] Kurama said with a shrug, before he yelled as a sword was thrown at him, barely missing his head.
Erza glared at Kurama, as she went backstage.
As the competition went on, Levy and Bisca put on good displays of their magic, with Alzack going gaga over what Bisca did. And soon, it was Will's turn.
"And finally, we have Wilma Van -" Max was saying, before he was cut off.
"Oi! Who told you that name?!" Will bellowed out, as she came out from backstage, her hair raising into the air as sparks ran over it.
"He did it!" everyone yelled, as they pointed at Kurama in a panic.
["You sellouts!"] Kurama yelled at this, before he jumped, avoiding a blast of lighting.
"For my next trick, I'm gonna taxidermy me a fox!" Will yelled, as she flew after Kurama and chased after him around the guild.
Naruto held up a piece of paper that had a 10 upon seeing this, getting laughs from the guild, as Will zapped Kurama.
"And next we have Lucy Heartf -" Max was saying, before being cut off once again.
"Don't use my last name!" Lucy yelled in a panic, as she came out on stage in a cheerleader uniform.
Will, upon seeing what Lucy was wearing, stopped zapping Kurama. "Whoo! That's what I like!" she yelled, as she threw some bills at the stage.
Naruto sighed at this as he shook his head, while the guild laughed at Will's antics.
Lucy, after a moment to compose herself, approached the edge of the stage, before she was pushed to the side by a woman with long brown hair, who wore a pair of glasses over her eyes, a green dress with what looked like moveable wings on the back and held a feathered purple fan in her hand.
"Evergreen, you didn't sign up. What are you doing?" Markarov asked upon seeing this, his eyes wide in shock.
"Uh, who's she gramps?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow, as everyone began muttering to each other.
"She's part of the Thunder Legion," Gray said with a scowl.
["Ain't that your punk ass grandson's team of groupies?"] Kurama asked as he approached, his fur still on end after Will's attack.
"I am here because I have already won this competition," Evergreen said with a smug grin.
"Oh? How do you figure that?!" Lucy yelled, as she approached Evergreen.
"Lucy, don't look her in the eyes!" Gray yelled in warning.
But it was too late, as Evergreen lowered her glasses, which shined as Lucy turned to stone.
"There. Now that she along with the other contestants are turned to stone, that only leaves me" Evergreen said with a smile, as the curtain behind her fell down, showing the other contestants were also stone.
"Oi! I'm still here!" Will yelled, as she hovered in the air a bit.
"Oh? Ah yes, the new girl that's been making a name for herself. People have been calling you the Fairy Tail's Guardian" Evergreen said with a scoff at Will.
"Yea, and what of it?" Will asked with narrowed eyes.
"Oh, nothing really. I just don't see the hype and why such a handsome young man wastes his time with you, when he could have a woman like me" Evergreen said with a smirk, before she winked at Naruto.
"YOUR DEAD!" Will yells, as she flew at Evergreen, her fist charged with electricity, before in a flash of light, she was turned to stone, thanks to Evergreen's magic
["I got ya!"] Kurama yelled, as he quickly grabbed the falling Will with his tail, before he moved her to the side.
Evergreen smirked at this, before she turned to look at Naruto. But paused, as she saw his glare and saw what looked like a demonic aura behind him, which screamed only one thing to her.
KILL.
This caused her to quickly throw down something and in a flash of blinding light, she was gone.
Suddenly, what looked like a holographic image of Laxus appeared in the guild, towering over everyone.
"Laxus! What is the meaning of this, you brat?!" Markarov demanded, as he looked at the holographic image.
{"I'm finally talking over this guild, old man. And my first action as Guild Master, is to declare a new event: The Battle of Fairy Tail!"} Laxus said, as what looked like a bunch of runes started to fly around the guild.
["What is all this?"] Kurama asked, as he looked at the runes.
"I don't know, but they are all over the place outside. There's also some giant Lacrima floating outside" Naruto said, as he looked outside, where what looked like Lacrima balls were floating over Magnolia.
"What even is this Battle of Fairy Tail?" Gray asked with a scowl at Laxus.
{"It's quite simple, really. Everyone here will fight each other, for the right to be part of this guild. It's time for you weaklings to prove you actually belong here"} Laxus said with a smirk.
"If you wanna fight, then come here and face me!" Natsu yelled out, his fists covered in fire.
"What makes you think that we're gonna just go along with what you say?" Alzack asked with a glare.
{"Because if you don't, then the girls here will stay petrified. And don't think about leaving the town to get help. My Thunder Palace will keep you all here, and I'll set it off on the town, if you pull any stupid moves"} Laxus said with a cocky smirk, before his image disappeared.
Everyone looked at each other, before they all ran out of the guild hall, leaving just Naruto, Kurama, Makarov, Happy, Natsu and Gajeel inside the guild.
"Come back here!" Makarov yelled, as he moved to stop everyone, but he was stopped by an invisible barrier.
"Hey, what happened gramps?" Naruto asked curiously.
["It's those runes!"] Kurama said, as he pointed above the doorway with his tails at some writing.
"|Those above 80 years old or are statues may not leave the guild hall|" Naruto said, as he read what the runes said.
"This is Freed's magic!" Makarov yelled, as he glared up at the writing.
"Indeed. Laxus doesn't want you to interfere" a voice said, getting their attention.
Everyone looked up at the second floor and saw a man with green hair, holding a rapier in his hand, while wearing a dark red knee-length double-breasted coat.
["So you're one of that punk asses groupies, eh?"] Kurama asked, as he raised an eyebrow at this.
"I'll be using my Rune Magic to force all of the mages inside to fight each other, until only the best are left, so that the guild only has the best," Freed said, ignoring Kurama.
"What about you guys? Will you be fighting us too?" Naruto asked Freed with a hard look and tone.
"Indeed. We will be out there waiting for any of you to find us and fight us, if you wish to save your friends. I would try finding Evergreen first, though. She won't be easy to find" Freed said, before he disappeared with his Rune Magic.
["A hunting game, eh?"] Kurama said with a smirk.
"Let's do this - gah!" Natsu was yelling, as he and Gajeel ran towards the door, but was blocked by the barrier.
"EEEEHHHH!?" everyone yelled in surprise at this.
"How are you two affected by the barrier? You're just young men, not old men!" Makarov yelled out.
"N-no fair!" Natsu groaned out, as he slid down the barrier.
"Damn it! I wanted to fight one of them," Gajeel said with a scowl, as he began punching the barrier.
["Don't worry, I'll deal with those mother - what the fuck?!"] Kurama was saying, as he went to run past the two Dragon Slayers, before he too was stopped by the barrier.
"Looks like your years as an asshole still count," Naruto said with a sigh at this.
["This is bullshit!"] Kurama yelled out in a rage.
As he said this, Freed's Rune Magic started to display alerts of fights that were starting out in the town.
"Those fools" Markarov said, as he clenched his fists at this.
"OK, we need to figure out a way to stop this," Naruto said with a firm tone.
"Hey, how about we burn the girls out of the stone?" Natsu asked, as he walked over towards Lucy, a ball of fire in his hand.
"…Kurama, please hit him," Naruto said with a flat tone of voice.
["Gladly"] Kurama said with a smirk, before he whacked Natsu with his tail, sending him into the floor.
"Anyway, we need to figure out a safe way to undo the petrification. That way, everyone will stop fighting" Naruto said to Makarov and Gajeel, as Natsu sat up and rubbed his head.
"We also need to figure out a way to stop the Thunder Palace, so Laxus can't hold the town hostage," Makarov said firmly.
Naruto nodded at this, before he pulled up his sleeve and revealed a tattoo. And after touching, he unsealed a giant scroll, which he unrolled.
["Ah, gonna see if you can think up a seal to undo the petrification, eh?"] Kurama asked, as he watched this.
"Yep," Naruto said with a nod.
"Hey, why not undo the barrier, so I can just go kick Laxus ass?" Natsu asked curiously, as he stood up.
"Gajeel, please hit him while I focus on my work" Naruto said, as he looked at his seals.
Gajeel nodded at this with a grin, before he approached Natsu, while cracking his knuckles as he did.
As Naruto looked over his seals, results started to display on Freed's seals, showing that some battles were ending, while others were either starting or still going.
"Laxus, stop this now! - Urk!" Makarov was yelling, before he grasped his chest and fell to one knee, gasping for breath.
["Are you ok, old man?"] Kurama asked, as he looked at the Guild Master.
"Shit" Naruto thought, as he continued to do his work, trying to develop a seal to undo the petrification.
P.O.M and Kfbanime87 were both relaxing in their office, when….
May the 4th be with you and long live The Tales of the Empire: Deadpool yelled, as he kicked the door open, before he began swinging around two toy lightsabers
Before P.O.M stood up and pulled out a laser blaster and shot Deadpool in the head, before he twirled it slightly and put it back in its holster on his leg

I hope that everyone is making sure they wash their hands for 20 seconds, keep two meters from those outside your bubble, avoid large crowds, only drive anywhere if you really need to and that you always sneeze and cough into your elbow. Any and all flames are no longer welcome. Also, for some reason, if I get a PM from anyone, it wouldn't show me the number(s) on fanfiction (so if you send me a PM, and I reply to it late, that's the reason why).
