A/N: This is pretty much going to go the same was the other stories. Except since it's kind of like Wolf Alpha with Anemone tagging along. And yes, I forgot to mention that I did change a few of the characters.

Chapter Seven: Desolate Isles Fortress

The three dragonets had dove back into the water and managed to swim away from Scuttle as the bird had been distracted by the whale. They swam a good distance before coming onto an island. The waves crashed against the beach as they walked away from the water. Tsunami, Anemone and Riptide were all laughing from the seagull's torment. When they had stopped at the top of the sand was much looser on the beach, Tsunami looked to the other two and said with a big grin, "All right! It worked!"

"It was a great plan." Anemone agreed with a nod. Riptide chuckled as he lightly nudged them with his wings, "We managed to lose him."

"I am a genius." Tsunami arrogantly said, taking credit for the plan just as the male Seawing started to walk off. Both him and Anemone looked to Tsunami with annoyed looks as Anemone reminded her elder sibling, "Hey, genius, it was all Riptide's idea."

"Yeah!" Riptide nodded, knowing that it had been his plan. But still wanting to take credit for it, Tsunami placed her talons on her chest and said, "Yeah, but I'm the one who pulled it off. It's the Queen's job to pull of the plan."

"With us both!" Riptide defiantly said with a smirk while wrapping a wing around Anemone. The elder princess' body tensed up as she took it as a challenge, "Oh, yeah?"

Then with a playful growl she leapt at Riptide. The female Seawing dragonet had moved away from Riptide when her sister tackled into him. The two friends fell to the ground. But once his back touched the ground, Riptide pressed his back feet against her belly and kicked up. Sand was kicked up as the two dragonets flipped through the air with Riptide coming out on top. Tsunami gritted her teeth when her back hit the ground while the male above her had a smile on his face. The princess rose up a little, but Riptide was quick to push her back down. Tsunami grunted when she hit the ground with a loud thump. The princess of the Seawings looked up to her friend in surprise as he leaned a little closer and playfully said, "Pinned ya."

From where she stood, Anemone giggled from how Riptide was able to turn the tables on her sister. She stepped over to them and looked down at her elder sibling, "Not very queenly to be down in the dirt, is it, your Majesty?"

"Hey, let me up!" Tsunami said and pushed Riptide off of her. The male Seawing backed up as he held a triumphant grin and turned his head to the left while closing his eyes. Tsunami rolled onto her side as she glared at him. Then the thought that with Riptide's eyes closed made her think she might have an advantage. Quickly getting back up before even her sister could warn him, Tsunami gave a growl as she once again tackled into her friend. She crashed into his side and the two ended up rolling over the side of the sand dune. More sand was flung as they rolled down the hill. From the top of the hill, Anemone watched as the two tumbled away.

The two laughing Seawing dragonets held on tight to each other as they rolled down the sandy hill, throwing up sand each time they tumbled. When they reached the bottom of the dune, Tsunami held Riptide close to her as she threw them off. They landed with her on top, but the male Seawing dragonet repeated what he did from earlier by pressing his back feet against her belly and kicking up with a grin. The two dragonets flipped through the air with him on top of the female Seawing. Tsunami gritted her teeth when her back hit the sand again and started to come up again like last time. But Riptide was quick to push her back down again and she grunted when she thumped against the sand. Riptide smirked and smugly said, "Pinned ya, again!"

Tsunami only gave him an annoyed glare. They both looked up to see Anemone trying to quickly rejoin them. When she stopped she asked her sister, "Did you honestly think that would work a second time?"

But just as Tsunami opened her mouth to retort, her eye caught a glimpse of something behind Riptide. Pointing to it she asked, "Hey! What's that over there?"

"Huh?" Both Anemone and Riptide asked as they looked. Past the beach over a big hill, they saw something standing tall amongst what looked to be dead trees. But none of them couldn't make it out. Without taking his eyes off of what he was seeing, Riptide stepped off of Tsunami and she got back onto her feet. Together the three young sea dragons slowly made their way to the hill. As they climbed, a grin grew on Tsunami's face when they reached the top. The three dragonets stood before a tree line and they could see structures on the other side. Looking to her two companions she said, "This is the place. We made it."

"So this is the Desolate Isles?" Riptide asked as they slowly walked into the trees. Anemone looked around and said, "It certainly has an ominous vibe going on."

Her sister and her best friend nodded in agreement. When they reached the other side of the trees, they all looked over a tall root and looked to each other as they said in unison, "Whoa!"

Before them was a large fortress. Cracks could be seen in the walls or large chunks were missing from them. They could see broken windows in the towers. The three walked up to the open gate and peeked inside. The place looked like a massive battle had been waged there and nothing lived in the fortress ever since then. They all looked around the place to see what else was there. Riptide leaned his head closer to the girls and said, "It's kind of creepy here."

"Yeah." Anemone agreed with a nod. Tsunami's excited grin didn't fall when she asked the two, "Isn't this place great?"

"We could get in big trouble for just being here." Riptide said, even though he had a grin from how exciting this place was. His best friend chuckled and nodded in agreement, "I know!"

The three dragonets stepped into the fortress courtyard and walked towards the biggest building, the main hall perhaps. The large doors were wide open, but they couldn't really see anything because of the shadows. As they stepped a bit closer, Riptide wondered, "I wonder what all's in there?"

"There's only one way to find out." Tsunami said as she glanced back to her sister and her best friend. With a gesture of her head she said, "Come on, lets go and check it out.

The elder Seawing princess moved forward to go inside the building, but a white blur quickly moved in front of her and blocked her way. The three gasped when an angry Scuttle shouted, "Wrong!"

Landing on the ground in front of the princess, the seagull started to wave his wings at the Seawing dragonet to make her back up while saying, "The only checking out that the three of you will be doing is the checking out of here."

"Aw, man!" Tsunami groaned as she turned back to the other two. Scuttle looked around with slight fear in his eyes as he pointed out, "We're way beyond the known boundaries of the Kingdom of the Sea."

"Look, Tail Kisser, there's nothing to be scared of." Tsunami rolled her eyes from his panicking. But a feather against her snout made her look him in the eye as he said, "It's Mister Tail Kisser, Tone Deaf. And we need to leave because we could all be in serious danger."

"What do you mean?" Anemone asked as she and Riptide looked to each other. Tsunami started to move around Scuttle as the seagull questioned the three of them, "Don't you know where we are?"

"Yeah, some desolate island with ruins that could use a little more sun." Tsunami answered when the majordomo looked back to her. But Scuttle shook his head and clarified for them, "No, it's not just a desolate island. This is the Desolate Isle. The place that was built by Scavengers, where they made their stand against the rest of the kingdom and where the war ended."

The bird's answer made Tsunami stop in her tracks while Riptide and Anemone's eyes widened. The older female dragonet looked about the place and thought about the final battle of the war. The elder princess then looked back to the seagull and started to asked, "So this is-"

"Where Princess Orca and other Seawings unfortunately perished at the hands of the Scavengers, yes." Scuttle nodded with a grim frown. Looking between the three dragonets he then urged, "Now, please. We need to leave before-"

The sound of footsteps made them all look into the main hall and the footsteps came closer. But a second later more could be heard from inside. A fearful Scuttle then quickly urged, "Tsunami, come back here."

The Seawing princess quickly moved back to stand with Scuttle, Riptide and Anemone. They all looked into the doors to see three smaller shapes slowly emerge from the shadows. All three were wearing brown cloaks with hoods covering their faces. The one in the middle stopped just outside the door while the other two kept coming towards the four. From beside Tsunami, Riptide sounded both fearful and astounded, "Scavengers."

"Well, well, Bil, what do we have here before us?" The Scavenger by the door, a female by the sound of her voice, asked. As they started to circle around the four, one shook their head and a male's voice said, "Gee, I don't know, Tes.

"What do you think, Greg?" He asked to the third Scavenger close to Anemone. The third Scavenger, from the sound of insane laughter was another male, just made some unintelligible noises. The other two seemed to understand at least a little as the one known as Bil raised his hands to his hood. He brought it down as he said, "Yeah, just what I was thinking too." He brought the hood down and showed the four his face, "A quartet of trespassers!"

This male was young, looking to be in his adolescent years. While the cloak covered his body and hid the skins he was wearing, his face was another story. Some areas of Bil's head was shaved and he had the hair on his head tied back. They looked to the other two Scavengers removed their hoods as well. Greg, the second male, had long hair on both sides of his head while a bit was tied into a bun at the top. Tes, the only female of the trio, was much younger than the two males. Her hair had been braided in the back while a few strands were made to look like loops on the sides of her head. Placing her hands on her hips, Tes questioned the group, "What business do you have here?"

"This was quite an accident, I assure." Scuttle nervously chuckled while standing before the trio of dragonets, ready to defend them if necessary. Turning to the three he ushered them to the main gate with his wings as he said, "It was a simple wrong turn at one of the other islands."

But just before the four could try and escape from the trio of Scavengers, a wall of water suddenly separated Scuttle from the dragonets. All three of the dragonets looked back while Scuttle looked back to see Tes walking up to him. A smirk formed on her face as she said, "Heh. I know of you. You're Queen Coral's little stooge bird."

"I, miss, am the Queen's majordomo." Scuttle corrected, earning an eye roll from the Scavenger leader and he quickly flew up into the air to get above the wall of water. The other two Scavengers were still circling around the young dragons as Bil questioned, "And that would make you…"

"The future Queen." Tsunami defiantly stated as Scuttle joined them. The wall of water quickly formed around them all as Tes joined the two of her people. All three were now circling the quartet as she questioned the young Seawing princess, "Do you know what we do to Queens that step out of their kingdoms?"

"You can't do anything to me." Tsunami scoffed with a glare. But a nervous chuckle from the seagull made her look to Scuttle and he said, "Actually, the can. We are on their island."

Tsunami leaned a little closer to the bird and reminded, "But, Scuttle…

"You told me that they're nothing but stupid, pale, furless monkeys." Scuttle tried to stop her as she said that. But when it didn't work, he raised a wing to his beak and spoke in pig Latin, "Ix-nay on the upid-stay."

"Who are you calling upid-stay?" Bil angrily questioned when he took a step closer and bended some of the water threateningly at them. But a wave of her hand from Tes made him stand down. Scuttle then gestured to the three dragonets to take off as he said, "My, my, my, look at the sun. It's time to go now."

"Hey, now. I don't think you should hurry." Tes said with a grin as she made the water hover over them with a simple motion of her arms. They all looked to her as she took a step closer, she made an ominous offer, "We would be honored to have you all as our guests."

"Yeah." Bil agreed and it made the four look to him. The Scavenger thought about something for a moment before cracking a joke, "We'd better stop dragging our feet and get inside."

It caused Tes and Greg to start laughing with him. The female Scavenger started to wave her hands and said, "Wait, wait. I've got something.

"We should be respectful and bow to the "Queen" as we offer her our domicile." She tried. Though not as funny as Bil's joke, the two still ended up laughing. But the only one who wasn't laughing was Greg as he jumped between the two of them and started making unintelligible noises while pointing in a certain direction. Tes then questioned, "What, Greg? What is it?"

Bil looked in the direction that their fellow Scavenger was pointing and turned to their leader and asked, "Hey, did we want the hostages to escape?"

"What? No. Why?" Tes asked in confusion. She looked in the same direction that Greg was pointing when Bil shouts, "Cause there they go!"

Tsunami, Anemone and Riptide quickly ran through the courtyard of the ruined fortress while Scuttle flew above them. The dragonets jumped and glided a bit when an obstacle appeared in their path. The four turned a corner and the seagull had to duck to avoid hitting a low beam of wood. But it put him behind the group and he gasped when a hand made of water suddenly snatched him out of the air.

However, the three dragonets didn't know he had been captured and continued to run before finding a spot to hide in. Though they were much bigger than most of the buildings made by the Scavengers, all three of them were able to squeeze into what looked like an armory for the smaller creatures. Tsunami was the one to poke her head back out and she looked around to see if it was safe. From behind her, Anemone asked, "Do you think we lost them?"

"Yeah, I think so." Tsunami nodded and the other two took a look outside. But it was then that she quickly noticed, "Wait, where's Scuttle?"

"I thought he was right behind us." Riptide said as they looked for signs of the small bird. Pulling herself out of the building, Tsunami urged, "Come on! We have to find him and get out of here."

The other two dragonets didn't argue as they came out of the building. They all stuck together as they ran off to search for the seagull. Said avian screamed as he was brought into what looked like a council hall. There was a large hole in the wall and the ceiling due to the war and it made it easy for the three Scavengers to enter. While Tes held Scuttle like a ball with her hands made of water, Bil raised a small stream of water and held it like a stick under the bird's exposed rear. He looked to the other two and said with a grin, "I've always wanted to say this for some reason."

"Then go on and say it." Tes urged him with chuckle. Scuttle tried to stop him by shaking his head, "No, no! Don't say it!"

"Fore!" Bil shouted and with a quick motion of his hands, the water he controlled swatted the seagull in the butt and it sent him flying through the hole in the ceiling with a scream. The bird flew high into the air and the three Scavengers started laughing hysterically. They were stopped when a voice said from the side, "Hey!"

All three of the Scavengers looked over to see Tsunami, Riptide and Anemone standing in the hole in the wall. The future queen of the Seawings angrily questioned, "Why don't you go and pick on someone your own size?"

"Like you?" Tes responded with an evil grin. It was then that Tsunami's face fell when she realized her mistake and said, "Oops."

Anemone screamed as the three Scavengers used their water as a way to quickly propel them forward. All three of the dragonets turned tail and ran off as Tes waved her hand to send a thin blade of water at them. It missed their tails by a few inches and sliced through a few of the bricks. The pieces fell to the ground as the Scavengers chased after the Seawings. The three ran into another damaged building to try and get away from their pursuers. They almost made it until they had to stop when a large column of stone suddenly fell down in front of them. The three Scavengers jumped onto the column and shouted in unison, "Boo!"

They all threw an arm down and it sent another blade of water at the three sea dragons. But it missed them when they jumped out of the way and turned to run again. They rushed outside and climbed up the stairs of another building. They jumped onto a roof when Bil tried to slice at them with a stream of water. All three of the Seawing dragonets had to fight to keep a grip on the roof as they ran across it. But when they managed to reach the edge of the building, a large blade of water sliced through a good deal of the roof behind them and the walls holding it up. Tsunami, Riptide and Anemone held on to each other and screamed as they were sent falling. But before their portion of the building could crash them into the ground, they opened up their wings and glided off the falling rubble. They all grunted when landed on their bellies on another roof. But they didn't stay down for long as they got up to run. The three Scavengers managed to get up onto the same roof and started chasing after them. When Tsunami reached the top of the roof, she heard Riptide shout from behind her, "Wait! Tsunami!"

She looked back and gasped when she saw him pointing down to Anemone. The younger princess had slipped and fallen behind. But she screamed when she saw Tes approached her with a stream of water at the ready to attack. With an angry look on her face, Tsunami rushed down to save her sister. Just as Tes was about to strike the younger princess, the elder Seawing princess came in from the side and knocked the Scavenger back with a swat of her tail. The female Scavenger grunted as she was sent falling backwards on the roof. But before she could go too far, she was saved by Bil and Greg when they caught her. With a glare she looked up to the three Seawings just as their tails disappeared over the top of the roof.

Tsunami, Riptide and Anemone continued running for their lives and glided down into the courtyard again. But this was a much different section of the courtyard and they were nowhere near the front gate. They looked for a place to escape and saw another building with a big hole in it. They all dashed into it and found what could pass off for a throne room. Tsunami saw a hole big enough for them where the throne would have once sat and pointed, "Up there!"

"Let's go!" Riptide shouted as the three ran for it. But just as they jumped into the air and were about to fly through, a splash of water covered the hole and it froze over. All three dragonets grunted when they hit the ice patch and they fell to the floor. With a groan they slowly picked themselves back up. When she looked to the entrance, Tsunami gasped and it made Anemone and Riptide look to see the three Scavengers enter the chamber. All three brought forth an attack of water while the three dragonets stuck close to each other. With a chuckle Bil taunted them, "So close, but so far."

Moving to where she stood in front of Riptide and Anemone, Tsunami took in a deep breath and letting out her attempt to roar. But it wasn't impressive or intimidating and worst of all it didn't strike fear into the Scavengers. All it did was make them laugh at her. Tes then mocked the princess, "That was it? Do it again and tell me."

Tsunami glared at her before taking in another deep breath. But wen she opened her mouth to roar again, another and more fierce roar rang through the chamber. It made the three Scavengers confused as they said in unison, "Huh?"

The three were suddenly smacked into the side by a thick tail and sent flying across the chamber. Queen Coral snarled as she went on the attack. Tes and Bil were the first to get up and try to defend themselves and Greg with a wall of water to block her. But the queen was quick to turn to where she could jab her tail that had a narwhal horn attached it through the defense. The horn breached the wall of water and Tes and Bil were quick to jump out of the way to avoid being skewered by the weapon. From behind Queen Coral, Greg managed to sneak up on her and tried to send a shower of frozen shards of ice at her. But the monarch of the Seawings managed to jump out of the way before jumping at him again. With swat of her claws she sent the insane Scavenger flying back. With a growl she chased after him. But before she could go and attack him again. Tes used a stream of water to wrap around the queen's throat and try to strangle her. It made Queen Coral gag and back away from her downed companion. But the sea dragon took a step backwards and it allowed her to be close enough to try and crush the Scavenger with her thick tail. With a worried cry Tes jumped out of the way to avoid the appendage, but it caused her to drop the water and it freed the queen. Over on the side, Scuttle flew in from the hole, avoided the raging battle and flew over to the three dragonets. He landed next to them and they all had their attention on the fight. The battle ended when Queen Coral had managed to get the three together before swatting them back with her wing. All three landed on their back and looked up in fear when the queen stood over them with a growl. All four panted from the battle with the queen suffering slight cuts and the Scavengers sporting bruises on their bodies. They all looked up at her in terror as they begged for mercy, "Oh, please, please! Uncle, uncle! Just stop!"

"Silence!" Queen Coral snarled at them and it made them flinch in fear from her anger. Bil nodded to comply, "Okay, yeah, we're gonna shut up right now."

"Please, calm down, giant sea dragon." Tes pleaded to the dragon monarch. Queen Coral glared down at the three and growled as she warned, "If you ever come near my daughters again…"

"Oh, they…" Tes said in shock when she talked about Tsunami and Anemone. With a slight gesture of her head to the two female dragonets she asked, "Those are your daughters?"

"Oh, your daughters." Bil said in equal surprise. Tes looked to him and asked, "Did you know that?"

"Me? No. I didn't know…" Bil shook his head. Then he turned to the question around to her, "Did you?"

"No, no, of course not." Tes shook her head. They both looked to their third and asked him, "Greg?"

The mentally challenged Scavenger stupidly nodded his head. While this made the two give him questioning glares or looks, it made Queen Coral roar in anger before she looked down at them again. The roar echoed through the room and it made everyone cringe. Bil chuckled and waved a hand, "Bye-bye."

All three waved their arms to where they laying on a bed of water. A moment later, they shot out from underneath the Seawing Queen and quickly got up before running out of the hole in the wall. While Tes didn't make any noises, both Bil and Greg were giving frightened whimpers as they ran. Once they were outside of the chamber, they disappeared into the ruins of the Desolate Island Fortress. Once they were sure that the three Scavengers were gone, Scuttle flapped over to his Queen's side and nodded up at her with a smile. But when she turned to him with a grim frown on his face, the seagull shrunk in their gazes as he knew that he was in trouble for what just happened. From behind the two, Tsunami, Anemone and Riptide bounded up to them. With a guilty look Tsunami tried to say, "Mother, I…"

"You deliberately disobeyed me." Coral angrily said when she turned to her older daughter. Tsunami could see the anger and disappointment in her mother's eyes. The princess struggled to find the words and tried to say, "Mother, I'm… I'm sorry."

"Let's go home. Come." Queen Coral firmly said and started to walk out of the chamber. Scuttle took to the air and glanced back to the three dragonets as they slowly followed. Tsunami, Riptide and Anemone walked side by side with their heads hanging in shame. Riptide looked to his best friend and quietly said to her, "I thought you were really brave."

"Same." Anemone agreed with a nod. But Tsunami didn't say anything as she kept her eyes to the ground, knowing that she had really let her mother down. But as they walked out of the cave, they didn't notice a pair of eyes looking at them from behind the frozen hole in the wall. Sitting on the other side of the frozen patch, Shark had been watching the whole thing and scowled in disappointment at the results. With a small snort, Shark got up and walked away, knowing that he needed to do something about today.

Author's Note: I think I'll stop the chapter here once again. I know that like in the last chapter, a lot of things were greatly different, but it is a little better this way for this story. But hey, seven chapters are finished and we still have a lot to go through. And we all know how long the next chapter will be. But it is one of the best parts of the story. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
