A/N: And here we have a start to a new day for our friends. While some things are going to remain consistent with the show, other parts are going to be altered to where they make better sense. I'll explain my reasons for doing so at the end of the chapter.

Chapter Twenty-Four: A New Discovery

Vic Mignogna: Mysteries abound made of deep energy (energy)

Foes all around well now we'll go fearless and free

A group of people were flying high over the clouds. The Saiyan in the orange Gi, Son Goku, his son in the purple Gi, Son Gohan flew alongside the Namekian in a similar Gi as Son Gohan, Piccolo. They were on their way to meet up with a friend who said she had something to show them.

Vic Mignogna: I'll give you strength and you'll give me love that's how it we'll live (that's how we'll live)

Your courage won't fade, if you're with me my enemies will never win

After a freak accident, Goku wakes up to find himself somewhere entirely new. Soon he is met by a bewildering sight, a boy accompanied by dogs who can talk.

Vic Mignogna: We will fight for love and glory, we will live to tell a story

There is nothing we can live through, nothing ever dies, we will rise again!

Goku, Ryder and the Pups all take the time to get to know each other. From having fun like telling stories to responding to emergencies. Goku helps the Pups by catching a falling Alex when he fell out of a tree.

Vic Mignogna: Don't stop, Don't stop were in luck now!

Don't stop, there's no fun to be found

Goku, Ryder and the Pups all stood outside the Lookout and saw that a new kind of trouble was brewing. A large shadowy figure stood ominously over Adventure Bay. But the nine looked to each other with grins before charging into action.

Vic Mignogna: We can't find paradise

All we have to do is go! Go! Free your soul!

Standing in a circle, the pups all unleashed their auras from their Mighty powers. In the center of the circle, Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan. Then all eight of them unleashed pillars of their power into the sky.

Vic Mignogna: Dragon Soul!

Soon, Goku, Marshall, Chase, Skye, Rocky, Everest, Rubble, Zuma and Ryder all stood together and posed for a picture with smiles on their faces.

Another day came and went by for all in Adventure Bay. The group was sitting within the Lookout eating some dinner. As they were eating some noodles that had been brought over by Mr. Porter, Oolong complimented after taking a bite, "Man, that Porter guy knows how to cook."

"Well, he does run the best café in town." Chase agreed as they continued to chow down. The only one who was eating was Piccolo as he was meditating on the other side of the room. Skye tilted her head towards the Namekian and asked, "Aren't you gonna eat? All you have is that cup of water you asked Ryder for."

"Thanks, but it would be a waste of time for me." Piccolo said without opening his eyes. Zuma asked, "How come?"

"Actually, Namekians don't need to eat food like us." Gohan told them and it surprised the boy and his Pups. Rubble tilted his head and asked, "Really?"

"Yeah, I friend Dende, whose also a Namekian, told us that Namekians mostly drink water and it's enough to fill 'em up." Krillin nodded. That made all seven members say in unison, "Pawsome!"

"So, it's going to take some time to build the portal back home?" Master Roshi asked Ryder, Bulma and Rocky as they were sitting on the other side of the group. Bulma nodded, "I'm afraid so. If I can gather the right materials and with Rocky and Ryder's help, I should get it done still in time before the Androids show up."

"But that'll still take some months to complete." Rocky clarified. The Mix-Breed shook his head, "Those parts aren't easy to come by and they won't be cheap if do manage to find them."

"Well, we won't stop searching until we get what we need." Ryder promised. Goku then threw in, "And while we wait on them, the four of us can start sparring to keep ourselves sharp."

"Good idea, Goku." Piccolo agreed with that plan. Then he said, "As long as there are no distractions, we might just pull this off."

"But where are you all going to stay?" Skye asked. She shook her head, "We only have one guest room in the Lookout and Goku's already sleeping inside."

"Well, do you have a spot around the Lookout that you don't use a lot?" Bulma asked. Ryder nodded, "Uh, yeah. I can show you real quick."

"Sure." Bulma said and they got up. Marshall looked to the Z Fighters and asked, "What exactly is she going to do?"

"Come on and she'll show you." Goku said and moved to follow them out. The six Pups looked to each other before they and the rest of the Z Fighters walked out of the Lookout.

Out on the lawn, Ryder came to a spot and said, "We're not where the Air Patroller is…

"So, what exactly are you going to do?" He asked her while the others joined them. Bulma pulled a small case out of her pocket and opened it up. She pulled out a little object that had a button on the top. She pressed down on the button while using her free arm to motion him back, "You might want to keep your distance for this next part."

With a toss of her hand, the little object that Bulma threw landed a good few yards from them. A moment later, a large explosion of smoke made everyone brace themselves. When they looked again, the Paw Patrol was greatly surprised to see a large dome shaped house standing in front of them. Both boy genius and Pup said in awe, "Woah!"

"A little home away from home." Bulma proudly said with a grin. Turning to Ryder she said, "Now while we're here, the rest of us have a place to sleep til we find a way back. If that's okay?"

"Should be fine." Ryder agreed. Then she turned to the others and told them, "And what's better, everyone has a room all to themselves."

"All right. Cool." Krillin, Gohan and Oolong cheered as they pumped a fist.

Elsewhere…

Across town and near Jake's mountain, a duo of men were walking along the base of a mountain. Both were wearing miner's outfits complete with dirty shirts under ripped up overalls and pith helmets on their heads. One was pushing a wheel barrel while the other carried the tools to do some digging. Inside the wheel barrel were a few items such as flashlights, a first aid kit and a few rations. The one with the wheel barrel looked to the other and asked, "You really think we should be out here doing this without Otis' approval?

"After all, he does have a claim to these parts." He reminded with a worried look. The other miner waved it off, "Ah, what Ole Man Otis don't know won't hurt him. Besides, the coot's out of town to get himself supplies and that'll take him a while."

"But still-" The worried miner said, not feeling too sure about this. But the other looked to him with a questioning look and said, "Look, think of how much the gold we find will make us rich. And should we make enough, we'll use some of it to appease Otis."

"I guess that could work?" The first miner shrugged, not thinking of anything better. They came to a section of rocks and the second miner handed the other one of the pick axes. They both approached the wall and looked to each other before swinging at the stone wall. The rock chipped and cracked with each swing they took at it.

After a few swings, they stopped when they heard the sound of rumbling coming from the wall and saw the cracks growing. They slowly looked to each other before running away just as the wall started to collapse. Multiple rocks crashed and rolled across the ground while the two miners came to a stop a good thirty yards from the rock wall. They looked back and their eyes widened when they saw a pretty big cave entrance now standing before them. The entrance was pretty big compared to them. One of the miners slowly came close to the cave entrance and looked inside. He couldn't see anything due to how dark it was. Looking back he said, "Go and get the lights."

"Uh, okay." The other nervously said before moving to the over turned wheel barrel. While it was damaged from the fall, the contents didn't look all that bad. Picking up the lights, kit and rations, the miner moved to hand the other flashlight to his friend. They activated the lights and looked into the cave. While there was no gold, there was a long tunnel that went through a good deal of the mountain before it dropped. The miner who had been wanting to come suddenly grew nervous while the other one looked really excited. He started to move forward before his friend grabbed his arm and said, "What do you think you're doing?"

"I want to go check this out." He gestured to the tunnel. But the other miner shook his head, "I don't think that's such a good idea."

"Hey, you're the one who wanted to come out here, remember." The former worried one reminded. Then he compromised by saying, "Plus, we won't go too far. I just want to see what all's in there.

"Plus, if we run into trouble, we'll run like the devil's behind us." He offered. While he wasn't wanting to as he looked down the tunnel, the miner sighed, "Okay. Just for a little bit."

"Just for a little bit." His friend nodded and they slowly walked in together.

The next morning at the Lookout, everyone had woken up bright and early to get started. Up at the command center of the Lookout, Ryder, Rocky and Bulma were looking over the schematics for the portal or trying to figure out where they were going to get the materials. Out on the front lawn, the rest of the Paw Patrol, Master Roshi and Oolong were watching Goku, Gohan, Piccolo and Krillin sparring with each other. While Gohan and Krillin were going at each other in a flurry of movements, Goku and Piccolo were up in the air disappearing and reappearing in a clash. The two of the four fighters had discarded any heavy clothes to move a little quicker as they sparred. Which meant that Piccolo wasn't wearing his turban and his torso gear while Goku had removed his sweatshirt, his wrist bands and his boots from his person. Since they didn't wear weighted clothes like Goku or Piccolo, Gohan and Krillin were both wearing all of their gear. A good deal away from them, Oolong commented, "I can hardly keep up with 'em."

"Then you need to get your eyes checked." Master Roshi cracked and laughed a little. The pig man shrugged before saying, "I wonder if there are any chicks around town."

"Ooh, probably wanting someone to take 'em on a hot date." Master Roshi agreed, liking the idea. This didn't sit too well with the five Pups next to them as they all cast glances to each other.

…

Up inside the Lookout, the three geniuses were going over the portal schematics that Bulma had brought over from their world. As he looked over a piece, Ryder said, "We'll have to find something that can provide the necessary amount of energy to power this.

"Otherwise if we were to tap into the town's power grid, we'll cause a major power outage." He shook his head. Rocky offered, "I'll look for potential power sources that we can use."

"And I'll get to work on some of the circuitry." Bulma said and they seemed to like that plan as they nodded. But before they could make any moves, Ryder's pup pad started to go off. Pulling it out of his pocket, Ryder looked to see who was calling. He adopted a questioning look when he didn't recognize the number and tapped the screen and said, "Paw Patrol, what's your emergency?"

"Oh, thank goodness that you answered." A man dressed in a miner's outfit exclaimed. The three in the Lookout were greatly surprised by how worried he was looking and how dirty he was too. The man then said, "I need your help. Me and a friend of mine were trying to mine for gold near Jake's mountain. A cave opened up and we went inside.

"I got scared and decided to come back, but he hasn't returned. I'm getting worried." The miner said. Ryder nodded, "We're on our way. No job is too big, no Pup is too small."

"Guess the portal will have to wait." Rocky guessed while Ryder extended the pup pad. He pressed the button to call the remaining Pups, "Paw Patrol to the Lookout!"

Meanwhile, back outside the Lookout, the four were currently taking a break from the sparring for a few minutes. The eleven were sitting on the grass and taking a breather. Zuma looked between the four, mostly to Goku and Piccolo, and asked, "So, does wemoving youw weighted clothes weally help youw twaining?"

"It does." Goku nodded. But before they could discuss more, the five's pups tags suddenly flashed and they heard Ryder say, "Paw Patrol! To the Lookout!"

"Okay, I know that you're a team and all, and you have your own way of doing things…" Krillin started to say. He quirked a brow when he asked, "But couldn't Ryder just look out that door up there and say, "Hey, we got trouble" or something?"

"It does hardly make sense sometimes." Skye agreed on that much. But they still got up and rushed for the Lookout doors. The last one to start running was Marshall as he rushed behind the group. The Dalmatian ended up tripping over his own paws and crashed into Oolong who ended up crashing into Master Roshi who then crashed into Krillin and Gohan. The two then cried out as they flew through the air and crashed into Goku and Piccolo. Chase happened to look back and warned, "Guys, watch out!"

He, Skye, Zuma and Rubble all quickly ducked down and both the Saiyan and the Namekian stumbled over them. The two fighters crashed into the glass of the elevator. Even with his face comically smooshed against the glass, Piccolo gave Goku a questioning look when he said, "Let me guess, this happens quite a lot as well?"

"Pretty much." Goku confirmed, though he wasn't sore about it. After picking themselves up and dusting themselves off, the rest of the Z Fighters and the five Pups joined the two in the elevator. Marshall sheepishly looked up and said, "Uh, sorry about that."

"Hey, don't sweat it. Accidents will happen." Gohan waved off while Piccolo rubbed his sore jaw. The doors to the elevator closed and it raised to the top of the Lookout.

When the elevator reached the top, the Pups were all wearing their usual gear, though Marshall was wearing his EMT gear instead of his firefighter's outfit. When the doors opened, all five jumped out of the elevator and joined Rocky who was the only one not in mission gear. Oolong cracked a grin as he commented, "Look, they all form a line."

"That's how they usually do when they have a mission." Goku said as the Z Fighters moved to stand behind the Pups. Chase stamped his paw, "Paw Patrol ready for action, Ryder, sir!"

"And that?" Krillin asked when he looked up to his best friend. Goku nodded while Ryder pressed a button on his pad and the screen showed an image of the mountain next to Jake's. Ryder then said, "We got a search and rescue mission, Pups and friends.

"We got a miner whose lost inside some tunnels in the mountain. He's been missing for most of the night." He informed them. He looked to each of them and said, "I'm gonna need as many hands as I can take to find him."

"You can count on us, Ryder." Rubble nodded to the boy. Ryder then said, "We're gonna take the Paw Patroller over to the mountain. We'll take what gear we have and use the backup vehicles."

"You have backups?" Goku asked, never knowing this before. Marshall nodded, "We keep some vehicles in the Paw Patroller for when we go on out of town missions."

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Krillin asked. But then he became confused when he asked, "Wait, where is this Paw Patroller?"

"Ryder?" Goku asked with a grin. The boy smiled as well when he pressed a button on his pup pad. A moment later, everyone who didn't know what was going on cried out when everything began to shake. The new arrivals moved over to the windows to see what was going on. All of them were greatly surprised when they saw the ground open up and the Paw Patroller raised from under the ground. Krillin looked back to the boy genius and inquired an age-old question, "Uh, just in asking, how are you able to afford all this stuff?"

All the boy genius could do was give them a sheepish laugh.

…

Five minutes later, everyone had boarded into the Paw Patroller. Ryder sat at the front with Robo-Dog, which really amazed the group again. Each of the Pups sat on a side of the main cabin with a Z Fighter between them. The large vehicle rolled through town fairly quickly with the robotic dog behind the wheel. Bulma continued to marvel at the vehicle she was in, "I've got to hand it to you, Ryder. You really know how to make a fashionable car."

"Thanks, Bulma." Ryder said as his chair swiveled to face them. She then asked, "I guess you've programmed Robo-Dog with all he needs to know for driving?"

"All the driving techniques and maybe a few tricks as well." Ryder said with a grin. Marshall then asked, "So, how exactly are we going to find the missing miner?"

"I've been making some modifications to one of the spy drones for Chase." Ryder said as he tapped on the pup pad. A screen extended down and it showed the image of the mountain. Ryder then explained, "With some experimental mapping technology, we can see how far the tunnel goes into the mountain."

"And maybe the miner will show up too?" Skye asked. Ryder nodded, "I've also informed Jake and Everest about the tunnel. Jake says that he'll block off any trails that lead to it."

"So, you're basically trying to keep this as controlled as possible, ain't ya?" Master Roshi asked, quite impressed with his work. Ryder nodded and said, "Hopefully, we can find the miner and then maybe get back to work."

"Here's hoping." Piccolo agreed with him. The Paw Patroller soon exited the town and sped down the highway for Jake's Mountain.

Foggy Bottom…

In City Hall within Foggy Bottom, Mayor Humdinger was sitting in his office with his kittens all about the place. He held a phone in his hand, indicating that he was in the middle of a call. The mayor of the town close to Adventure Bay seemed happy when he said, "Really? A new tunnel? And in a mountain that's quite close to Foggy Bottom?!

"Could be a perfect opportunity." He twirled his mustache. Standing up, Mayor Humdinger then said, "I'll scrounge up whatever I can for this venture."

He placed the phone down on the receiver and looked to his kittens as they laid about, "Well, kitties…

"Looks like we're going to need to get some quick muscle if we're not to be left behind the Paw Patrol." He cackled. He continued to cackle as he turned to the window of his office.

Author's Note: And now, my Dino Wilds story arc is underway. I thought that the adventure should have started something like this in the show. Me and Dragonking156 both kind of agreed that the tunnel just being there, didn't make much sense. A lot in the episode is going to be going in a different direction.
