A/N: I know that this all only happened in a short amount of time, and I did plan on making it a little longer, but this way works out just fine with me. I'm thinking one more chapter after this one and that will conclude the Great Jagras Liberation story arc.

Chapter Twenty-Six: The Great Jagras Battle
The eight of the Jagras pack looked between their packmate and the new friend that they had made. While Jacob did want to live, he didn't want to make them choose him over Juni. Jupiter looked between Jacob and Juni, unsure of whom to save. But when he looked to the human, Jacob was giving him a serious look before turning his eyes to Juni. Jupiter seemed to take the hint and looked to those standing next to him and gave a rallying cry to fight. The other seven screeched with him before rushing for the Great Jagras that stood over their fellow Jagras. All four of the boys all took the high road through the trees while all four of the girls went in for a frontal assault. The really large Great Jagras roared at both smaller Greats. Jacob figured that he and Juni were gonna get crushed because of their defiance of the pack leader. If one happened to notice, the third Great Jagras looked a little conflicted about what the really big one was wanting.
But Jacob didn't have any plans of dying today. Quickly rolling onto his back, he pulled his carving knife out and slashed at the throat of the Great Jagras above him. The large lizard roared in pain and recoiled from the slash as a little blood leaked from the cut. Slipping out from underneath the Great Jagras, Jacob removed the shield from his arm before flinging it at the Fanged Wyvern. The shield bashed against the beast's face before coming back to him. Catching the shield, Jacob looked back to see Jupiter, Junker, Julius and Jumpa jump down from the tree and landed on the other male's back. It thrashed about and was even more startled when Jenna and Juno pounced on it from the side. The Great Jagras reared up as he tried to shake the six off of him. This allowed Joss and Jess to grab onto Juni and quickly pulled him out of the way. The Great Jagras crashed down a moment later and the six jumped off. Jacob looked back to his Great Jagras and blocked a claw swipe with his shield. The human teen held his defense and then backed up as the Jagras pack did the same. They came together in the middle of the clearing and looked to see the third Great Jagras moving to block their way out. Jacob felt that they were going to need a distraction or something to get out of this one.
The large Great Jagras suddenly roared and the two backed off. Jacob and the pack looked to see it coming down and he figured that they were gonna have to fight him off. Placing the shield back on his arm, he ran forward to try and land a punch with it. The shield made contact against the Fanged Wyvern's shoulder and it only made the large beast grunt from the strike. He had to jump back when the jerk of a monster tried to crash into him with his belly. Julius, Jumpa and Junker suddenly rushed past the human and leapt at the really big Great Jagras. They landed on his head and started clawing at their former boss. The giant Fanged Wyvern shook his large head to dislodge the three from his face. With a yell, Jacob came around the side and bashed the broad side of his shield against the shoulder of the large Great Jagras.
With a great throw of his head, the large monster managed to throw the three off of him and turned to Jacob with a glare. Looking around Jacob saw a couple of rocks on the ground and quickly picked up some up. Applying them to the slinger one at a time, Jacob opened fire. Each stone smacked against the large Great Jagras' face or shoulders, but didn't seem to be affected much by them. With one last stone in his hand, Jacob waited for the right moment as he applied it. The large Great Jagas lunged for him and Jacob jumped out of the way and aimed the sling as he fell. He fired the stone and it smacked right into the giant beast's eye. The large Great Jagras roared in pain from being temporarily blinded by the rock. It turned to him with a one-eyed glare and Jacob uttered, "Uh-oh."
The large monster came at him with a heavy swings of his claws and the teen was nearly knocked over even with the shield blocking them. After one swing, Jacob tried to punch the large Great Jagras with it. But it stepped on the round piece of metal and caused Jacob to fall onto the ground. The human's face hit the ground a little hard and he felt some blood starting to well up in his mouth. He was thankful that the pack came to his rescue when Jupiter jumped onto the large monster's face where his good eye is. The rest joined up by coming at the bigger beast from all sides. Jacob slowly sat up and spat a glob of blood from his mouth. He wiped a little from his mouth before getting back onto his feet.
The large Great Jagras still tried to shake his former subordinates off of him and roared from all the slashes and bites he received. Jacob moved to a spot where he wouldn't hurt his friends and stuck the carving knife into the large beast's hide. It seemed to be the thing that did it for the large Great Jagras as it gave a loud roar and with a twist of his body he made all of his attackers fall back or off. The large monster looked down at Jupiter laying before him and started to rear up. Jacob quickly rushed in and barreled into the Jagras to move him out of the way. The large Great Jagras came down with a boom as the two rolled out of harm's way.
Getting up again, Jacob and Jupiter stood side by side while the rest of the pack got back onto their feet. The other eight quickly moved to stand side by side with their fellow Jagras and their human friend. While the three Great Jagras remained on standby to stay out of the leader's way, the eleven combatants prepared themselves to keep the fight going.

The large Great Jagras gave another loud roar before charging at the group. All nine Jagras gave their own screeches and Jacob yelled with them to show that he would stand by their side. The Jagras were faster than the human when they shot forward but he ran as hard as he could to keep up.
Megami33: Go, go, go
The Greatest Jagras opened his jaws as he looked to take a bite out of any of them, but the nine Jagras moved out of the way while Jacob fired his grappling hook up at the tree tops. After it caught onto a branch, the human was pulled out of the way just when the Greatest Jagras' jaws snapped shut on empty air. Pulling himself onto the branch, Jacob looked down to see the Greatest Jagras looking for his supposed prey.
NateWantsToBattle: Time has come, I'm ready to go
Venturing into the unknown
With a yell the teen dropped down from the tree and onto the Greatest Jagras' back. The large lizard squirmed to try and get the human off of him, but Jacob grabbed a fist full of his mane to hang on. With his other arm, he removed his carving knife and started stabbing the beast with it. The nine Jagras took this opportunity to come in on the attack. While the other eight flanked the Greatest Jagras from all sides, Jupiter leapt up and managed to catch onto the large Fanged Wyvern's face again. The Greatest Jagras roared from the sudden slashes and bites he was receiving and tried even hard to shake his attackers off.
NateWantsToBattle: Fires inside me must be unleashed
The Greatest Jagras looked to turn the tide of the fight by starting to fall onto its side. Jenna, Juno, Joss and Jess quickly got out of the way to avoid getting crushed while Julius, Junker, Jumpa and Juni jumped back in fright. Jupiter and Jacob moved to fall off the opposite side of the Greatest Jagras as it rolled across the ground. Shrubbery was flattened a bit as he rolled before coming to a stop on his legs again. He looked to his ten adversaries with a smug looking face and hissed as if taunting them.
Megami33: Laughing all my worries away
Silly thoughts could get in my way
When Julius, Junker, Joss and Jess all hissed to the taunt they tried to rush at him again, the large alpha caught them all with a swipe of his tail. All four were knocked back and laid dazed on the ground. Jacob came to their rescue by rushing forward and putting the knife away for the time being, he scooped up a few sticks this time. Applying like he had done with the rocks, he fired them and was mostly trying to keep the large glutton's attention on him.
NateWantsToBattle and Megami33: I can't get no satisfaction
And it worked as it roared at him before coming at him. Wishing he remembered where he had seen his katana last before the fighting had started, Jacob fired the last stick and it smacked against the Greatest Jagras' face but he still came at the teen. Removing the carving knife again, he slashed when the Fanged Wyvern came close before lashing out with his shield arm again. The shield connected against the beast's chin just as the pack came to his aide once again. Julius and Jumpa came up to the fore arms and clamped down with their jaws. The others jumped onto their former alpha's back or sides and started clawing at it.
NateWantsToBattle: Challenges may come
Fighting's just begun
There's no stopping me from spreading out my wings
Megami33:Let's fly high!
The Greatest Jagras roared before managing to shrug them off before using its head to knock Jacob back. The teen crashed against the ground and tried to get up again. But another blow from the Greatest Jagras sent him flying through a couple of trees and made him drop the carving knife in the process. The human tumbled along the ground and groaned in pain from the abuse he was receiving before raising his head. He found himself before the tunnel that he used so long ago.
NateWantsToBattle: Concentrate my power
In this final hour
Having a feeling that he would need to do something different to turn the fight, Jacob quickly got up and made for the tunnel. He glanced back to see the Greatest Jagras coming at him again. The human stumbled as he went down into the tunnel to try and keep his distance. As the Greatest Jagras followed after the human into the tunnel, the Jagras pack were picking themselves up again. Jupiter looked to the tunnel to see the tail of the Greatest Jagras disappear down the slope. When he didn't see Jacob around, he understood what was going on. The leader of the nine screeched to the others to warn them of what was going on.
NateWantsToBattle and Megami33: The New World is waiting for us all!
Jupiter started making his way towards the tunnel as the others started to follow after him. But before they could reach the tunnel, the three Great Jagras moved in front of them. While the two males roared at the smaller ones, the female remained a bit behind. Jupiter growled to Juni and looked in a certain direction before he, Julius, Jumpa, Junker, Joss, Jenna, Juno and Jess all moved forward to take on the three Greats.
Megami33: Our paths to possibilities
Have all been locked for you and me
Juni looked to where his new leader had been looking and noticed Jacob's Iron Katana lying on the ground. Now knowing what to do, the young Jagras darted over to the blade and grabbed the hilt in his mouth. The blade scrapped against the ground as he dragged it to get the sword back to Jacob. While the other eight pack members were keeping the Greats busy, Juni tried to make his way around to the tunnel. But before he could go through it, the female Great Jagras was there. But from the look on her face, she seemed to be conflicted. She gave one glance to the others still fighting before moving out of Juni's way. Taking it as a sign, Juni quickly dashed down into the tunnel.
NateWantsToBattle: I've got a flame, deep in my soul
That gives me courage and control
I'm going beyond the limit break
The world is mine to take
At the bottom of the tunnel, Jacob had slipped and slid down the rest of the way on his back. He grunted when he fell forward and landed in the pond with a splash. The sounds of the Greatest Jagras roaring behind him was what got him on his feet again. The teen moved to get out of the way and went up the more rocky slope as the Great Jagras exited the tunnel. He looked up to the fleeing human with a dark look on his face.
Megami33: You know it's all a piece of cake
When you put everything up at stake
Jacob had made it little ways up the slope when a sudden squawking made him look up. He was a little weirded out to see a Kulu-Ya-Ku out here of all places. The Bird Wyvern chirped as it looked to the boy before noticing the large lizard right behind him. The Kulu-Ya-Ku squawked at the bigger monster before trying to go in to peck at it. Jacob moved out of the way to avoid being run over. This proved to be the egg thief's undoing when the Greatest Jagras used its head to knock it back. Before the Kulu-Ya-Ku could recover, the Greatest Jagras' maw opened wide before grabbing the Bird Wyvern by the head. The feathered beast squawked in fear when the large lizard pulled at its head back to swallow its new prey whole. The Kulu-Ya-Ku tried to pull itself out but the Greatest Jagras' grip was too strong and he reared his head back to begin the swallowing.
NateWantsToBattle and Megami33: I have no fear/Now you will see
I think it's clear/Time to believe
Jacob was greatly horrified when he saw the Kulu go down. The Kulu-Ya-Ku tried flailing about as the Greatest Jagras reared its head back even more to finish the job. Soon, the feet and tail of the Bird Wyvern slipped down into the Fanged Wyvern's throat and his belly extended from the consumed prey. Jacob was really worried when the Greatest Jagras turned his head on the human teen again. Jacob wondered how he was going to get out of this one until he heard a croaking sound next to him. Looking down he noticed a yellow frog and remembered that a Paratoad is pretty powerful against just about any adversary. Just as the Greatest Jagras started making his way towards him again, he picked up the Paratoad and kicked it like a football. The little amphibian flew through the air and started to bloat up before releasing its powerful paralyzing gas. The Greatest Jagras ended up walking through the gas cloud. The Paratoad at the beast's feet managed to right itself before hightailing it out of there. It screeched as the paralyzing cloud took effect and Jacob thought more about escaping to make his next move.
Let's kick it up to high gear/That nothing's gonna mess with me
Get ready for Monster Hunter
Turning away from the spasming beast, Jacob started to run again. But as he climbed up the slope, he stumbled and fell on the ground again. Jacob scrambled to get back up again and he dreaded when he heard the ticked off roar of the Greatest Jagras behind him. He just got back onto his feet when he felt the hood of his cloak get yanked and was lifted off the ground. He thrashed to get out of the Greatest Jagras' grip as he lifted his head again. The human tried to attack with the carving knife but he only managed a few scratches due to him facing the wrong way.
Even that Greatest Jagras will be blown away
Jacob prayed that something would come and save him. He was thankful when his prayers were answered when a familiar screech came from behind the Greatest Jagras. The large lizard turned his head with his hostage to see Juni exiting the tunnel and Jacob could see his sword next to the young Jagras. But he wasn't going to get to it when the Greatest Jagras suddenly threw his head up. Jacob screamed as he was sent flying up into the air. Juni was wide eyed as he screeched as the really large lizard kept his maw open wide.

The others had just come down the tunnel just to see Jacob fall into the Greatest Jagras' mouth. The large lizard snapped his jaws shut on the boy and the group was rigid for a moment. However; the Greatest Jagras started looking as if he were starting to choke a little on what he just ate. When he opened his mouth again, they saw Jacob doing his best not to go down. The Greatest Jagras kept the boy inside by closing his mouth and tried to swallow again by raising his head back again. But then they all screeched with great anger before rushing for their former alpha. Jupiter and Julius leapt at the Greatest Jagras' exposed throat and clawed at it. While the others went for the already scratched up sides of their former boss, Juni went for a different approach by grabbing the sword's hilt again and making his way for the tree that overlooked the pond.
The Greatest Jagras managed to push the smaller pack back for a moment, but they were quick to attack again. He let out a frustrated roar and the human could be seen again. From inside the large Great Jagras' mouth, Jacob found it difficult to keep a footing or handle due to the slipperiness of the saliva. But he was determined not to end up like what could be his new roommate. He grimaced from the wriggling tongue and the feeling of the throat trying to force him down when it clenched on his legs. He had been thankful that the shield prevented him from going down the throat after the jaws had snapped. Now he was trying to climb out, but every time that he thought he had a good hold, the monster he was in would thrash and cause him to nearly side down.
Back outside, Julius leapt onto the Greatest Jagras' side before climbing up to the head and scratching at the cranium with his claws. Juno landed some harsh looking bites on the tail while everyone else but Juni clawed at the legs and sides. Speaking of the young Jagras, Juni was currently doing his best to climb up the tree while holding onto the sword in his jaws. The weight of the blade in his mouth was very odd to him, but he kept going as his friends' lives were in danger. When he came up to the highest branch and moved out onto the limb that looked down on the fight. The Jagras waited for the right opportunity and when Julius landed a slash to the Greatest Jagras' already wounded left eye, the large Fanged Wyvern reared his head up and roared in pain. With his mouth opened wide, Juni did his best to throw the sword. The blade fell through the air and it hit both lips of the Greatest Jagras before disappearing into the mouth.
In the mouth, Jacob was still trying to climb out when he saw something dropping in. He smiled when he saw his Iron Katana and grabbed the hilt as the blade slid across the tongue. But when the monster he was in jostled a little from something happening outside, Jacob lost his grip and started sliding down the throat of the beast. With a yell, he twisted the blade as best as he could before jabbing it into the flesh of the Greatest Jagras before going down too far.
Outside, the pack had managed to push their former alpha to the edge of the small cliff when suddenly he gave a pained cough. He then screeched in pain from something happening to it. He lifted his head up when the pain seemed to grow much worse and the nine all jumped when they saw something in the throat suddenly jut out. Blood leaked from the wound as the blade from Jacob's sword started to slide out. The Greatest Jagras gave a deathly sound as his eyes widened from what was happening. He raised up on his hind legs and swung his forearms like he was trying to fight the pain off. Soon, his pupils grew in size and he fell backwards from the blood loss. The Greatest Jagras crashed onto his back with a thud and his head hanging over the edge of the cliff. The Greatest Jagras gave a final breath before his body gave out. The eyes of the beast were fixed on the ground below and his throat fully exposed with the end of the katana sticking through it. The Greatest Jagras of the Ancient Tree pack was no more.
The nine rebelling Jagras moved down the slope and across the small pond to look up to the lifeless body. They looked for a sign that their new packmate may still be alive, but nothing seemed to be moving. The Jagras were a little startled when they heard the sound of cutting flesh coming from the body and saw the blade moving upwards inch by inch. More of the Greatest Jagras' blood ran from the wound and coats the deceased beast's chin in small rivers of crimson. A moment later, the blade slipped back into the opening and something started pushing its way out. The throat wound expanded from the pushing before it became big enough and Jacob fell out. His sword landed on the ground with a clang as the blood covered human landed on the ground with a plop and turned on his back as groaned from such an ordeal.
When he got a feeling that he was surrounded, Jacob looked to see all nine of the Jagras pack looking down at him. He looked to each of them as he took a deep breath before saying, "That was… That was really gross."
All nine Jagras gave laugh like grunts and he sat up. He looked around to each of them before smiling, "Thanks for having my back."
Juno returned the sentiment by coming up and rubbing her body against the human before laying down in his lap. While the others either rolled their eyes or growled at her, Jacob lightly scoffed before saying, "Juno, get off. I'm a mess.
"I'm covered in blood and saliva." He added when he looked over himself. From head to toe he was coated in the mixed fluids from the dead large monster, but some of the others didn't seem to mind it just as much as Juno. Julius was one by coming around the human and lightly nudging his head against Jacob's. While staying close, Juno got off before she and the others all pressed up against each other as they came around Jacob.

Author's Note: I do apologize for those horrifying scenes right at the end there. And I was a little grossed out at the face that Jacob was nearly swallowed as well. But through the teamwork of a human and nine Jagras, they ended the Greatest's tyranny over the pack. What happens next? Well, you'll just have to wait and see for the next chapter.
