Hello~ With summer comes more work so I'v had less time to write in the truck. XD
Enjoy this chapter, sorry its a bit short.
Izaya was lazily curled up on the coach in what was left of the dying afternoon light, when he heard a familiar growl.
"Fleeea" The name drawn out, it lacked the usual affection the blonde typically used with his cat.
The small kitten flinched at the aggressive tone, one he hadn't heard from Shizuo since his 'accident', but upon inspection he must have miss heard in his sleepy state.
The blonde was smiling down at him with his usual affection that Izaya had come to expect and crave since they had started living together.
Izaya stretched out his tired body, sitting up and looking up into the blondes soft mocha eyes, his own reddish amber eyes squinting slowly, a comforting warmth swelling in his small chest.
"I'm back you sleepy little fur ball." The blonde said with a light chuckle, amused with his pets half awake state.
"Afternoon Shizu- chan~ Your home super~ early today" Izaya chirped happily, joy in every step as he made his way from the coach over to the other where he stood in the entry way in anticipation to be picked up and pet by the other once he finished toeing off his shoes.
Normally he'd be hiding under some furniture around the time he was expecting the blonde to get off work and playfully pounce on him.
Izaya found he was loving the surprised yet pleased reactions he would get from the blonde opposed to the annoyance and rage his unexpected appearances in Ikebukuro once elicited from the blonde man.
Izaya had to admit it was also nice to just greet him normally like this. He chuckled to himself at the pure absurdity of his current life style. It was strange how complacent he was becoming with this new routine.
Izaya sat at the blondes feet on his haunches, his arms stretched out much like a child silently asking to be picked up. Looking up with hopeful eyes at the blonde, he saw his expression slowly morph from delight to pure confusion.
"...Izaya?" The blonde man whispered down to him, he looked like his entire world just crashed down, as if in disbelief that everything he thought he knew these past few months just crumbled away.
"Did... did you just understand me Shizu-chan?" Izaya slowly placed his front paws back on the cold tile, well aware the blonde was unlikely to pick him up in his stunned state and even less likely to even want to after knowing his kitten was actually Izaya.
He watched the blondes face carefully as the man was slowly processing the situation; his expression was starting to switch to one of disgust and anger.
Izaya took a few small steps back, fear curling in his gut at the pure hate now covering Shizuos face. The previous warmth now drowned out by cold fear.
This was the very reaction Izaya was praying not to see when the truth finally came out, but to some degree he expected. He was heart broken to see hate once more directed at him by the man he had come to love.
"Oh... uh shit... look Shizu... uh don't be mad k. I didn't... Im not... I, you really couldn't understand me before. I wasn't trying to trick you or anything and-" He cut himself off when the blonde walked past him and silently made his was to the coach, lifting it above his head.
"What are you going to-" Izaya nervously croaked out, his words were once again cut off, this time by Shizuo yelling at him.
"You disgusting louse! You tricked me into caring for you! An evil little pest like you! I let you in my home, in my bed, touched your repulsive little body! Fuck, you demonic thing your supposed to be finally dead. What even are you, some sort of shape shifting Specter! Just crawl back to and stay in whatever fucking hell you belong in!" Shizuo swung the large piece of furniture further over his shoulders giving his swing more momentum.
The words felt like a knife in the tiny ravens heart, he simply watched, to stunned to move as the blonde swung the coach down on him where he sat in the small entry way.
There was no way he was going to survive this he thought, he was to small and fragile in this state. This was going to be way messier then his experience with the dumpster had been all those months ago, he was sure of that.
He briefly wondered if this was going to be more or less painful, perhaps his death would be quicker this time around with his smaller stature.
He was going to die again, but on some level he wondered if that would be for the best. He didn't deal well with rejection or emotions in general when his own feelings were involved.
He had spent his whole life keeping people at arm's length to protect himself and now he felt like his heart was just about to give up beating anyway, whether he was crushed or not.
I'm sorry Shizu-chan, he thought shutting his eyes tightly and awaiting his death
At that moment he couldn't seem to find the motivation to even try and avoid the blow, he wasn't even sure if he wanted to and the moment he was stuck everything went black.
...~...
Izaya's eyes snapped open, the darkness fading into the morning light and Shizuo's sleeping face coming into focus.
He was alive, curled up on the blonde man's chest just like every morning.
The raven swallowed past the lump that had formed in his throat, his mouth dry from sleep or the lingering terror.
It had all been a dream, a horrible dream but a completely possible ending to this whole situation, he was well aware the nightmare was not unfounded.
Izaya stared at Shizuo's sleeping face, relaxed and calm, he felt his own wide eyes soften, his racing heart calming to its normal pace. He was positive the love swelling in his chest was evident on his face.
Squinting his eyes into a slow soft blink he pulled his small body up to the blondes face. He closed his eyes and leaned in, pressing his snout onto Shizuo's lips, the action stirring the blonde awake.
"Morning flea. Thanx, were you getting lonely?" Shizuo asked him, his voice still husky from sleep.
"I love you Shizu" Izaya mewed quietly, receiving a loving pet in response to his confession.
To the blonde the raven's actions were just a cute way for his pet to wake him and nothing more. For Izaya it meant much more, an action he was sure if he repeated as a human would have only earned him disgust and a punch to the face.
In the end he'll take oblivious disregard for his feelings then out right rejection. but it still made him a little sad that he couldn't express his feelings as himself and receive the same level of affection in return.
He purred continually in the arms of the other contemplating all the ways the blonde could react to finding out the truth, even the extremely unlikely possibilities that Izaya craved for.
He stayed like that for as long as Shizuo was willing to just sit in his bed holding his needy pet. At this point Izaya wasn't sure if he was purring out of happiness at the blondes touch or to comfort his aching heart.
Well that's that, next chapter we are gonna start moving forward with the main plot it will also be twice as long as this one.
Reviews are always loved~
