So here is where Cor reveals the secrets of Samantha's past where for those new I'll tell you Samantha Star's inspiration was basically a children's novella I read in high school called 'The World Beyond the Waves' in which recently orphaned girl simply called Sam in the book gets taken to 'The World Beyond the Waves' a hidden place beneath the sea which is essentially a hospital for sea creatures, the environmentalism is obvious and when I first read it I thought it was amazing but then doing some research on the author and she's one of those animal rights extremists I don't like you know a Vegan who thinks who shouldn't eat any animal foods? Samantha in this case has kind of become a character exploration of the original Sam pointing out flaws in the book where I imagine Samantha's experience with the intelligent sea creatures (Not Humanimals in this case just Non-Anthro Animals who became intelligent on Sam's home planet because of experimental medicines being dumped into the water) in an effort to get Samantha to become their champion accidentally turn her into a misanthrope who hates being human and wants to be a sea creature
Bill however was too freaked out about the situation to be distracted by Cor's freaky hair
"OK Cor...If that's your real name…" The Bull-Boy said lashing his tail angrily (Bovines are actually very similar to cats in the way their tails show their emotions) "...You said you know something about Samantha so what is it? You two go back or something?"
"Oh...Do we ever?" Cor purred almost like a feline himself as he sauntered up to Bill without any fear as if he knew the Bull-Boy was no danger to him despite being larger and stronger "...I presume you know Samantha is from Planet Aqua right? The Planet with barely any land just a handful of tiny islands surrounded by one great ocean?"
"Yeah," Bill said "I know that's her home planet."
"And you know before she was drafted into the Wrangler Army she was a champion for the Non-Humanimal Animals...The Earth Sea Creatures the Humans brought with them to Aqua as for some reason the Ocean Planet barely had any life of its own?"
"Yeah I know that part too…" Bill said
"Well…" Cor said "...She wasn't alone, she started a group for her fellow teenagers to join and I was among the first to join."
"I see…" Bill said narrowing his eyes "...So what were you her first boyfriend?" He asked knowing Samantha told him the story of her journey to 'The World Beyond the Waves' where the intelligent Non-Anthro Animals of her planet told her of their suffering and after that she had no interest in having a human boyfriend that's why she had chosen Bill.
Cor snarled "No…" He said "...But I should have been! I was her closest companion on Planet Aqua! I was her most faithful servant! I'm the one who should have had her! Not you you undersized side of beef!"
And already triggered because he was seeing his best friend getting what he had to deal with Kevin of Viola Strierra...Ichabod stomped over feeling confident in her new feline powers
"Now just one minute..." Ichabod said "...You can't simply…"
However Cor was not going to have any interference from the scrawny Son of the Scarecrow even if he now had claws and fangs "Don't interfere Half-Cat!" Cor said as he stomped on Ichabod's new feline tail...With his steel-toed boot!
Ichabod let out a blood curdling cry that was half a feline yowl half a human scream making the human bar patrons recoil and he grabbed the tip of his tail, Ichabod knew the reaction cats have to having their tails stepped on he had seen it more than once but now he was feeling just how much pain it was as tears streamed down his face as he rubbed the sore tip of his tail.
"That really does hurt…" Ichabod murmured more to himself than to Marzipan and suddenly he didn't feel so strong if a human almost as scrawny as himself could stop him just by stepping on his new tail…
Bill however was beginning to realize Cor may not know that Samantha had a revulsion to her fellow humans he may not know her crusade was because of her adventure with the sea creatures.
"You stepped on a Cat's tail...Though I don't think it's his cat side you have to worry about...What makes you think you can stand up to a charging Bull?"
"Because…" Cor said with a smirk "...There's a reason behind my freaky hair...You may know that Planet Aqua was involved with all kinds of medical experiments...Including...Experiments to try to create new kinds of humans…"
Bill felt his blood run cold...This Cor he was talking too...He was a Designer Baby! Which in this day in age often meant Super Humans created with specific powers often for super soldier or other purposes related to war, espionage and other things related to human conflict…
In my Fictionpress Stories Designer Babies are often put in the position of 'Specialists' which is like the Wrangler Empires equivalent of the SWAT Teams or the FBI or CIA and other three letter agencies two different fractions of the Specialists have become a parody of the Heroic ACME Detective Agency and the VILE Criminal organization of the Carmen Sandiego Franchise
