With Belle and Ruby banished by the Dark One, by being brutally thrown over the magical town line, David calls on his grandson for help. In Miami, Emma and Regina get ready to return to face god only knows? But first, they need to face their son before they try. And Dorothy is adapting to life as a single woman again. What could go wrong?
Storybrooke – The town line
"Isn't there anything we can do to get to her?"
David had just watched, powerless to even move, as Gold almost choked Ruby to death right in front of them, before suddenly dropping her; then instead, magically launching her, and Belle, over the town line like they were rag dolls. Then in front of them, the librarian had slumped to her knees in tears, bereft, screaming out his name. But Gold had already teleported.
Blue shook her head. "The problem isn't getting over to her, David. It's getting back again, as you know! Without one of the scrolls, only a few can. Silvermist and I would simply disintegrate."
"So they're both stuck out there? In a world they hardly know? We have to do something, Blue! Surely we can-"
But he was interrupted by his phone ringing, pulling it out to answer.
"Henry?"
"Grandpa, we got Neal! Much Miller found him down by the docks. He's been taken to Sherwood."
"Thank god! That's one crisis over for the moment..." Much Miller was one of Robin's older men, a seasoned fighter and fiercely loyal to his leader, though he had little time for the royals. "Henry, you can get in and out of Storybrooke without one of those 'magic scrolls', right?"
"Of course, I was born outside. Why?"
"Are you anywhere near that sports car of yours?"
"I'm in it! I was just about to drive over to Sherwood, to get Neal."
"Okay, change of plan. I'll go get Neal..." David watched the two women scramble to get inside Belle's mini. "I need you to get over to the town line, then drive south as fast as you can? You need to catch up with Belle and stop them before they get too far!"
"Belle's left town? Why?"
"The Dark One just threatened to kill Ruby, then threw them both over the town line."
"Grandpa did that?" Henry couldn't believe his ears. "To Belle?"
"This wasn't Gold, Henry, this was The Dark One, in tooth and claw! He pushed her car over the line, too. So just drive south and call me your hands-free when you're ready, and I'll explain."
Miami Beach, Florida
"I'm not sure, Emma. I know it's a terrible thing to say about our own son, but I don't think I can face him."
It was late afternoon, and both women had just spent the last few hours on the beach and in the local bar for their last day in Miami. Tomorrow morning they would fly back to New York, then drive to Portland, the last remaining city before Storybrooke, where they'd booked a room. And god knows what they'd face after that? They both now sat by the dressing table, Regina's phone in front of them, dreading what would happen when they spoke Henry, after everything that'd happened.
"You're not facing him, you're calling him. And I get it, but it's still best you do it, instead of me. I was the one that hit him, remember? It's Henry. He'll listen to you."
"But what if he doesn't? What if he doesn't want anything more to do with me? Or you? No, I think it's best we message him, first."
She opened the app, which still had a little picture against his name, taken eight months ago, on the day he'd won his place in Harvard. He was smiling proudly, beaming back at her. So very different to the last time they saw him.
Meanwhile…
Henry had crossed the Storybrooke town line a good half an hour ago, picking up speed when he was able, as the highway straightened. He silently prayed he'd reach them before Belle got to Brunswick. Because after that they could stop somewhere, or even, god forbid, reach Portland, where the freeway connected and he'd definitely lose them. Looking at his phone, he cursed himself for not having Belle's number. And it wasn't like he could call Gold, because he was the one who sent them over the line in the first place! He didn't have Ruby's number either, and he certainly couldn't ask Snow.
Henry could barely believe what Charming had told him. Why would his other grandfather turn on Belle? She was the only one, apart from Gideon, who kept him sane! What had driven him to such a rage? After Jefferson, Belle was the only one who could get through to him. Sometimes. He'd have to go see him as soon as he got back.
Fortunately, about ten miles outside Storybrooke, he recognised the rear of Belle's mini, grateful she was a cautious driver who kept well within the limits, making it easier to catch up. He flashed her several times from behind, but as she didn't respond. So he pulled out, accelerating past them, looking inside to see both women staring straight ahead. Pulling back in front of her, he started to brake, forcing her to do the same, before waving out the window to pull over. When she finally stopped, he climbed out, waving his hands as he came to Ruby's side. They seemed genuinely surprised to see him as she lowered her window.
"I had to stop you!" He crouched by the door. As he looked closer, the first thing he noticed was how dreadful they both looked. The skin around Belle's eyes looked red and blotchy, and her normally stunning blue eyes seemed dulled. Ruby looked even worse. He assumed both had been weeping. "David told me what happened. Where are you going?"
"I…I don't know," Belle's voice seemed croaky. "Boston? New York? I don't know." But Ruby stayed silent, just staring ahead. "I just-"
"Look, I don't know what's happened between you and gramps, but David told me what he'd heard. Don't go anywhere yet, okay? I need you to stay near, till we figure this out. Whatever's happened, Gideon still needs you!"
"I need him too!" belle finally looked up at him. "I've barely thought about anything else, but I can't even get back in, can I? I've no scroll to cross back over the line."
Henry looked over Ruby's shoulder to the back seat. To the two large suitcases. Clearly, the Dark One didn't plan on letting them return.
"Listen, don't go. I'll give you the keys to my dad's old flat in New York, if need be. But that's a good few hours away. I know a little place you can stay in Portland till we figure this out? It's owned by parents of a good friend of mine. I'll get you in there, and then you tell me what's happened, okay? I'll go and see grandpa after, to get this fixed."
"It's not him, Henry, it's the Dark One! He's taken over Rumple's mind completely. I only just managed to stop him killing Ruby!" She sounded frightened. But Ruby still remained silent, staring ahead, blank.
"Yeah, David said. But try not to worry? Follow me till we get to Portland, then we'll stop and talk, okay? But I can't help you unless I know everything!"
The Sherwood Arms
Three years ago, the soul of Robin of Locksley was reunited with his body, through the intervention of Merlin. The most famous outlaw that ever lived had returned. And from the moment he reappeared in Storybrooke, he was a man on a mission. A mission to find his children, then the woman who he knew to be his soulmate and true love, Regina Mills. Or as she was now, Regina, Elected Queen of the United Realms.
But he still had so much more to do. Having once fled into exile as a result of the cruel Prince John's confiscation of their lands, he'd set about acting in defence of the poor and in need. And he built a little army of brave men and women who'd together create the legends that became known throughout the realm. The legends of Robin Hood and the Merry Men.
But on the day he returned to their tiny tented community in the middle of the forest three miles out of Storybrooke, in the pouring rain, Robin decided this was no way for them to live. So he set about building a little village of their own, with buildings with solid roofs, heating, plumbing, and the basic comforts everyone in Storybrooke took for granted. And Merlin used his magic to help. So much so, that the hamlet, consisting of some fifty timber-framed buildings, was created in only a month. And at its centre stood a larger building. An inn that would become the centre hub of the little village they'd named Sherwood, after the land his family once owned but had stolen by a tyrannical monarch. Merlin had even designed the large new pub in such a way that no magic worked within its protective shell, providing a safe haven against any future magical threat.
Soon, the Sherwood Arms prospered, and even people from Storybrooke would come and eat and drink. And it was this same pub that David raced into, looking for his son, seeing him sitting at a table near the bar with Robin.
"Neal? Thank god you're safe!"
His eight-year-old looked up at him, ready to be told off. "I'm sorry, dad. Sorry I ran away. I just…got really angry? And I don't know how but I kinda found myself at the docks where Killy's ship used to be? It wasn't there."
"No, my boy, I'm the one who should be saying sorry!" David pulled him up to drag him into his arms, hugging him, kissing the top of his head. "I shouldn't have asked Dorothy to keep you away from the hospital. That was my fault, not hers. But she said you just disappeared in front of her? Like Emma does, with her magic? Why did you go to the docks?"
"I didn't mean to! It's just, when she gets upset, she said she goes there, to the Jolly, and looks out over the sea and it makes her feel better? So when I got angry, I just thought about it and…there I was?" He noticed how his father didn't seem too surprised. "Did you know I had magic?"
"Yes. Merlin told me about a year ago, after he met you. He said it would probably show itself when you were older. Emma didn't discover hers until she was nearly thirty! But that was probably because she lived most of her life in the land without magic. That's why we didn't tell you, just yet. I wanted to, but someone asked me to wait till you were a little older, to make it easier."
"Mum?" David didn't answer but his face told him all he needed to know. "Yeah, she hates magic, doesn't she? I see how she looks at them when Regina and Emma use it. Is she still in hospital?"
He nodded. There was no point in denying it. "She's still in a coma. I didn't let you know because I thought you'd find it too upsetting? Especially after everything else that's happened to you recently."
"What happened? Please just tell me the truth, papa? Dot didn't lie to me, but I could tell she was hiding something."
David gave him a sad smile. It seemed like his eight-year-old was also gaining Emma's lie-detection superpower. "Do you know, you're sounding more like your big sister every day? I'll tell you what I do know, but I'll leave out some parts that might not be appropriate for your age, okay? But I won't lie to you."
"I'll leave father and son to talk?" Robin stood up from the table. "David, can I get Tuck to bring you over a beer? You look like you need it!"
David was just about to thank him when Neal interrupted. "No, can Robin stay too, please? He's been telling me things about Emma and Regina. I want to know if that's what's happened to mum?"
Over the next few minutes, because the boy was present, Robin told him an expurgated version of what they'd found in the little hidden cottage in the forest. And going back to Gold's, and the images from the dream catcher. About the weird green substance that Emma and Regina discovered, broken in the sink. About them smelling it, thinking it was weed. About how they seemed to 'fall in love' on the spot? As he was talking about his own daughter, David was grateful he left out the obvious details of what he'd probably seen. For him, it was bad enough watching his True Love having sex with Ruby, and he was grateful Gold had fast-forwarded over most of that. It must have been just as uncomfortable for the archer to watch Regina with Emma. But David listened carefully throughout.
"It's pretty much what Dorothy and I saw with Snow and Ruby. But the dreamcatcher showed that jar you mentioned, falling from a cupboard before she picked it up. So obviously, they must've got there before Emma and Regina."
Neal had also been listening. "So mum didn't know what she was doing, because she'd been poisoned? That's what made her fall in love with Ruby and leave us? She couldn't help it?"
"That's what Henry and Gold seem to think, anyway."
"That's why mum's so ill in hospital? Is that what's going to happen to Emma?"
"I hope not! We don't really know what happened to your mum just yet, Neal. All we know is that Ruby found her in the old loft, on the kitchen floor, unconscious." He didn't tell him about the overdose, though Robin picked up on it when David gave him a look. "But the doctors are looking after her. Blue said Merlin's also been called back to help, if possible. So we just have to hope and wait until he gets here."
"What about Emma? Dot wouldn't tell me where she was, but she's got white magic too! Can't she help?"
"Oh my boy..." David sighed, looking at Robin. "A few things have happened. Emma isn't Sheriff anymore, and Regina isn't the Mayor. They left Storybrooke five days ago, and Henry says they've gone to Miami. But he doesn't-"
"Florida?" That came as news to Robin.
"They're staying in a hotel on Miami Beach, apparently."
"Well that's nice for some, isn't it?" Robin shook his head in weary resignation. Clearly Regina had no regrets over all the heartache and upset she'd caused, even if it was started by a potion. He also remembered her last words to him, after he'd punched Emma, after she assaulted Roland:
"...If I ever see you here again, you're going to be one very dead thief! And this time, dead for good, mark my words!"
Portland, Maine
Belle followed Henry's car to a little hotel close to the waterside in the seaport city, owned by a friend's parents. Parking up, he handled the reservation and helped them carry the two big cases upstairs to the only room still available.
"Sorry they were short of rooms, but at least this one's got a nice sea view? I hope you two don't mind sharing a bed?"
Belle had been quiet since they'd left the car, apart from acknowledging the owner's daughter when they signed the check in forms. She seemed to be acting like she was drugged? But hearing his question, she looked up to see an innocent expression on his face. He clearly didn't know what'd happened. Yet.
"It's fine, Henry. We'll be just…fine."
"Look, I'll wait downstairs, while you two get unpacked okay? Then I'll find us somewhere to eat." While Belle silently nodded, expressionless, Ruby remained staring straight ahead. She'd barely spoken two words since Henry flagged them down on the highway. "Ruby?"
"You saw it didn't you?" A pair of exhausted blue eyes finally looked up at him, acknowledging him. "The dreamcatcher? You saw it?"
Realising what she was talking about, he nodded.
"Yeah. We think you were poisoned by something left in that cottage Ingrid used? Grandpa David watched it. So did Dorothy, unfortunately." Seeing Ruby wince at the mention of her wife, he regretted it. "But that still doesn't explain why Grandpa Gold got mad at you? Or chucked Belle over the town line? What's it got to do with him?"
But Ruby not answering him as Belle looked away with a more than guilty expression on her face, told him all he needed to know. "Oh no! Not the two of you, surely?"
Belle moved away, pulling one of the cases onto the bed, clearly not wanting to answer. Dealing with his mothers, Henry was used to avoidance, but he could be persistent. "Belle, did you visit that cottage in the forest, too? The one Ruby went to? Did you smell the potion?" She shook her head, but continued to look away, refusing to answer.
"The way you're acting, I'm guessing you did something with Ruby, too? And he found out?"
Bingo! Seeing her head jerk up, he'd clearly hit the target. "Henry, whatever's happened, this has nothing to do with you! This is between me and your grandfather."
"Bollocks! I'm the only chance you've got of getting back to Gideon! He's the Dark One, for god's sake! So just tell me what happened to make him throw the love of his life out of Storybrooke? Was it a one-night stand, or what?"
Later that evening…
"Three years, grandpa! Can you believe it? Three bloody years. And she says she's still in love with him?"
Henry was driving back to Storybrooke, on the phone to Charming, having left the women at the little hotel in Portland. He'd just repeated what he'd been told earlier. With his phone now on hands-free, Charming listened at the farmhouse table while he ate.
"I'd never have believed that of Belle? Ruby, sure! She always had a reputation back in The old realm, for men and women. I'd always assumed it was the wolf-thing? But Granny told me it wasn't; that wolves are generally monogamous, but werewolves like her father, were different. But Belle? Three years is a long time! So it was an affair?"
"Apparently not! I asked them straight out, and they both shook their heads, though they didn't want to talk about it. I even asked if they were in love, but Ruby said no, she loved Dot. So I'm guessing it was some sort of itch they needed to scratch? But Belle didn't go anywhere near the cottage, or the potion. I know that much."
"Well, whatever the reason, Gold would be the worst person to cheat on! He's not exactly known for his forgiving nature, take it from someone who's dealt with him. And Ruby? Did you ask her what happened to your grandmother?"
"Yeah. She sounded devastated, grandpa. Almost catatonic. She said she found her early morning in the kitchen, lying on the floor with the open pill bottle empty. That's when she called Whale. She also said she was sorry for all the pain she'd caused everyone. Especially you and Dorothy! She told me she had no idea what made her do it, so she ran away. That's when Grandpa Gold found her and forced her back to his place, to show her the dreamcatcher. But the images were of her and Belle this time."
"I'm surprised she's alive? Knowing him, he'd usually just kill her on the spot."
"Belle tried to stop him by using his Dagger against him, but didn't realise it was a fake. She told him to take her to the town line and was going to force him over, again. That's when you turned up."
"So they're safe for the moment?"
"Yeah. But they're broken, grandpa. Both of them."
"So it sounds like the potion finally wore off?" .
"Yeah. It sounds like grandma woke up, realised what she'd done to you and Neal, and tried to take her own life." There was a silence at the other end of the line. "I'm Sorry."
"It's okay, my boy. At least now we know what happened."
"Yeah. Selfish though? After all, if she'd died, you'd have been killed too, because of your split heart, leaving Neal an orphan?" As Henry spoke, a little banner popped up on the screen, showing someone had left a message. Someone he hadn't seen for over a week.
"I don't believe it!"
"Henry, what is it? What's happened?"
"You'll never guess? I just got a text from mum! Regina mum! I'll call you back?"
~oOo~
Henry pulled into the lay-by as soon as he could, grabbing the phone to open the message:
'Mum R: Henry, I need to talk to you. Call me.'
No please? No, sorry for all the pain we've caused? How should he answer that, specially after everything that'd happened? He wasn't feeling in a particularly forgiving mood right now.
'Henry: How's Miami Beach? Nice tan?'
One and a half thousand miles south, two women looked on, definitely not expecting that!
"He knows we're here?"
"He's probably put a tracker on the phone." Emma was impressed. "Crafty sod! I used to do it to his ever since he ran off. You must have left it lying around?"
"I do not leave my phone lying around! I-" Another message came in:
'Henry: Suites in the Ritz-Carlton New York and Miami Beach? Very nice. Robin was impressed. Good to see you're treating yourself?'
"He must be in your online banking! Clever boy. I wonder if he's into mine?"
"Emma, this isn't funny!"
"Do you see me laughing?"
She texted him again:
'Mum R: Henry, please call me? I need to speak to you.'
After she sent it, she saw the tiny icon at the top that showed he was typing a reply. A long one.
'Henry: Well I don't want to speak to you until you've given a grovelling apology for all the shit and heartache you've caused! Then, and only then, we talk!'
He pressed send and looked at his message again. It was petty, and he knew he shouldn't have. But after the day he'd had, being reminded those two were probably sunning themselves on a Florida beach without a care in the world, made him feel bitter.
"For god's sake Regina, just call him? Here, give me the phone?" She reached out for it.
"No! He asked for a grovelling apology, and that's what I'm going to give him!"
~oOo~
It was a good twenty minutes later when he stopped at a station to fill the tank, noticing there was a WhatsApp video message waiting. And quite a big one, by the look of it? The screenshot showed his two mothers sitting close, side-by-side. His brunette mother started talking, clearly nervous, the moment he clicked on it:
"Henry, you asked for my apology. So here it is. I am so very, very sorry, for everything I've put you through over the last few weeks! Although I do remember everything Emma and I did to you, Robin and everyone else, you must've noticed it was completely out of character? I love him with my heart and soul, as much as I love you. And Roland. And with her sitting beside me, I can truly say I am definitely not in love with your mother, and she isn't in love with me either, despite everything we both said! Somehow, we've been cursed, Henry. I don't know what sort of magic the imp used, or how he did it, but I swear to you that I was being manipulated. We both were! Nonetheless, I've hurt you, badly. I'm sorry, and I hope, given time, you'll forgive me."
Now Emma started to speak:
"Hen, the same goes for me. God knows how he did it, but he did! I said and did things, I never would normally. And I'll never forgive myself for hitting you like that! Or Roland. And I know I well deserved what I got from Robin, even though he nearly knocked me unconscious! I'm sorry. But you must know I would never normally do something like that? I'm the Saviour, for god's sake! I save people, not hurt them and I would never normally lash out at a child like that? As your mum said, I was being controlled. But now I'm over whatever madness it was Gold put on us, and I need to get back to you, to the man I love, and to your little sister, even though both of whom probably never want to see me again! Please forgive me?"
He played the clip for a second time. Ingrid's potion had clearly worn off, as it had with Snow and Ruby. He'd asked for an apology, and he got one. He knew what he had to do.
The Nolan Farm
"Three years? I told you there was someone else, apart from Snow, didn't I?"
When he'd been talking to Henry with the phone on hands-free, David didn't realise he was being overheard as Dorothy walked over to the table. He noticed that instead of her usual heavy cotton dressing gown, she was now wearing only a sheer berry-red silky chemise, showing far more of her legs than he'd seen before. They were slimmer, more toned than he'd imagined under her usual jeans and long skirts. She'd also clearly taken time over her hair, and her face looked more radiant, more flushed than usual? Considering she'd been through two of the worst weeks of her life, she looked a good ten years younger.
"Sorry Dot, I didn't see you there? Neal wasn't listening in, was he?"
"No, he's still in bed. Sorry for eavesdropping, but I couldn't help myself. So Ruby's in Portland with Belle?" He nodded. "Where's that?"
"About an hour south of here, heading towards Boston. You heard most of that, then?"
"Yeah. I always suspected Belle was Ruby's mystery woman. Either her, or Mulan."
"Mulan?" David considered it. "Unlikely. I don't know much about her past, but I know she's carrying Philip Briar's child. Due any day now, I gather? She and Phil are in some sort of three-way relationship with Aurora."
"A polyamorous relationship," Dorothy smiled, getting up to walk over to the drinks counter, collecting the whisky bottle and two glasses. "Rory calls them a 'thruple'? I was over their place earlier today. Rory's the one who did my hair and skin treatment for me this morning," she flicked her hair, drawing her fingers through the tresses. "She said I needed spoiling after everything I've been through. She does it for Mulan, though I can't imagine why? Her skin's perfect! I left early, when you phoned me about Neal?"
"I'm sorry I screwed up your day. And sorry again, for asking you not to tell him about Snow? That was stupid of me. We're sorted now." He watched as she poured a couple of fingers of whisky in each glass, handing one to him. "Whatever Aurora did, worked. You look lovely!" He also admired her teddy under the robe. "Bit of retail therapy too, by the look of it?"
"Thanks. Something like that. As I'm now single again, they suggested we have one or two girls' nights out? That's when I realised most of my clothes are pretty dowdy these days..." She took a large pull on the scotch, stretching out her long bare legs from under the table, yawning. "I've never exactly been on the dating scene. I need a few new outfits, don't you think?"
"Whatever makes you feel good about yourself. So you're planning on dating? Well, good for you!" He raised his glass, chinking hers, before slugging down the contents. "You get out there and enjoy yourself, Dorothy Gale! You're a beautiful, intelligent woman, who can do anything she puts her mind too. A hero to many, as well. You deserve a good life."
The way he said it made her feel slightly teary. Nobody ever called her beautiful. Strong, definitely. Brave, certainly. Intelligent, sometimes. But beautiful? "Thank you, David. You know how to make a girl feel better! You're a seriously handsome man yourself, you know that? Perhaps you should be thinking about dating? I'm certain there's plenty of single girls out here that would jump at the chance to be with someone like you."
"Like me?" He chuckled, standing up to go pour himself another. "Freshly divorced? With an eight-year-old son, and a daughter who's nearly forty? If we hadn't left the forest, without that time-stopping magic I'd be over sixty now! And I share a split heart with my former wife. Hardly the best catch, is it?"
"You couldn't be more wrong. You're exceptionally handsome, you're brave, strong, and a natural leader. And let's face it, you do make beautiful kids, don't you?" She took another whisky shot as she grinned. "If I was your type, I'd certainly jump your bones!"
"You?" He laughed again, enjoying their easy flirting. "What about the fact I'm a mere man, not a gay woman?"
"What makes you assume I'm gay? I could be bisexual, for all you know? Let's face it, I've never had any lovers, apart from Ruby."
"You're kidding me?" David was genuinely surprised. "But you're gorgeous! You must have, surely?"
"Nope…" She stood, the whisky now kicking in and giving her a warm feeling inside. "Not one. Plus, I'm now officially divorced, and single? I signed the papers, just like you did." She leant over him, kissing his cheek, for several seconds longer than normal, giving David more than enough time to appreciate her cleavage. "So if you're ever interested, well...you know where to find me?"
She stood, giving him a beaming grin, before walking away and up the stairs, to her room.
Miami, Florida
Once they'd sent their video message to Henry, Emma and Regina set about packing their cases for an early night, ready to check out of the hotel in the morning after breakfast. Up until three days ago, the pair were inseparable, sharing the bathroom, and each other, freely. But now, even though they still shared the large bed in the expensive suite, because of their former intimacy, a degree of awkwardness now existed between them, which both tried to ignore, carrying on as usual. And they now used the bathroom separately.
As Regina sat in cotton towels at the dressing table applying her moisturiser, Emma came out from the shower, similarly dressed, with a towel around her hair. But both heads turned to the sound of Regina's MacBook ringing, the screen brightening, as it lay open on the bed.
"It's Henry!" Regina could barely believe it, seeing the photo of him appear on the screen.
"I'll get it!" Emma darted across. For a moment, the brunette thought to stop her as they weren't properly dressed, but thought better of it, not wanting to miss the call. The blonde collected it as she climbed onto the bed, resting it on her lap, clicking to accept.
"Henry?" Though she tried to stay calm, she was as nervous as Regina, and her voice betrayed it.
"Ma?"
As the photo changed to a live image, for the first time in two weeks, Henry stared back at her. He was a grown man now. Larger than both of them, and even taller than David. But his light beard looked a little untidy, and he wore his quilted jacket. And it looked like he was in his car, clearly not at home.
"Henry, where are you?"
"In that service station ten miles out of Storybrooke?" He noticed the towel covering her hair was starting to unravel. "I see you're still in Miami? Is mum with you?"
"I'm coming!" Regina called out, thinking of dressing properly, but there wasn't time. She clambered onto the bed, settling against the headboard beside Emma, so the camera could include her. "It's late, Henry. Why aren't you at home?"
"It's a long story." As they sat side-by-side, Henry instantly spotted the difference from the last time he saw them. "I was right about the tans! You two been enjoying yourselves down there?"
"No, quite the opposite! Did you see the clip I sent you?"
"I did. That's why I pulled in, so we wouldn't get cut off. So the potion's worn off then?"
"It has..." Regina answered for them both. "And once I get my hands on that bloody imp, I'll kill him!"
"Grandpa Gold?" He frowned. "You think my grandpa did this?"
"Of course he did!" Emma agreed. "Henry, I'd never do something like that to Killian in a million years! And Hope? Why would I ever do anything to would hurt my own daughter?"
"Sorry to break your bubble ma, but this time it's got nothing to do grandpa, and I know that as a fact! This was all Ingrid's work!"
"Ingrid? The Snow Queen? But she's dead! Isn't she?"
He sighed. This was going to take a while!
